He can’t give her what she wants, what she needs , but the thought of letting her go is just as impossible.

Initial thoughts

Note to self.......from previous book in the series

“Never,” she declares easily, shrugging her shoulders as though she doesn’t care at all. “He’s not looking for commitment. He told me from the beginning. He doesn’t want me forever, so we hook up casually. I’m okay with that.”
“Does that mean he hooks up with others as well?” Izzy asks and I turn, interested, even as I dismantle my camera and secure all the small pieces away.
“Yeah. He never made promises.”
“He hooks up with other girls? Since your first time together, he’s been with others?” Iz clarifies.
“Yes,” Tink replies, losing patience. “And I’ve been with others too. It’s not a big deal. We’re just friends who sometimes have sex.”
“My brother is a dic-- doodle head,” Iz corrects herself quickly, “if he thinks either of you hooking up with others is okay. That’s not okay.”
Kit nods. “It’s definitely not okay, Case. If you’re not it for him, then he needs to let you go. So you can find your forever.”
“Jesus, Kit. I’m not some damsel idiot. I know my options. He doesn’t need to let me go. I’m not stuck. I live my life, most of the time we argue and are mean to each other, the rest of the time, like twenty percent of the time, we don’t argue and we hook up instead. This is fine, it works for us.”
“I just figured you’re better than that,” Kit tells her best friend casually. “You’re not usually some desperado who’d hang around waiting for scraps.”

Summary:
While Bobby was first meeting Kit, Jon (aka Leo) was chatting up Kit’s best friend and bartender, Casey (aka Tink or Sunshine). He said that now that Bobby and Kit were going to be each other’s new best friends, they both needed new best friends too, so they should be each others; and so it was from that night on.

They secretly spent months together, watching movies, eating, and chatting. They even slept together (not have sex. Like they actually slept in the same bed just to sleep). But of course this caused them both to have deeper feelings for each other. Tink was okay with this, but Jon made it clear he never wanted kids and never wanted to get married.

After they finally broke down one night and had sex, Casey was having some serious pain in her abdomine, which wasn’t completely strange to her because she had endometriosis, but it was worse than usual, she was also vomiting a lot. When she went to the doctor, she found out she was pregnant, but it wasn’t viable. So they had to do an emergency surgery to remove the baby along with one of her philopian tubes.

Tink hid this from everyone. Kit had just had her big accident so she didn’t want to unload more onto her, and she couldn’t tell Jon because she knew he would be mad. She distanced herself for a while.

They kept going back and forth in similar spells of always being together to not being together. One night, Jon decided it was time to end their on and off relationship because Tink deserved someoen who could give her a marriage and kids. They have a huge fight, where Jon admits he was sexually assulted when he was growing up, on top of the physical abuse everyone else already knew about. This is also when Tink came out about her failed pregnancy. This put them on the outs with each other. But when it came to Aiden and Tina’s wedding in Vegas, Tink decided to get really drunk and when Jon joined her, she asked for one more night of Leo and Sunshine before they go their seperate ways. But they ended up getting married that night.

When Tink woke up in the morning and saw her ring and the marriage certificate, she ran. Little did she know that Jon remembered the whole thing and he even wrote himself a note the night before in case he didn’t.

This results in Tink having a heart to heart with the girls and sharing her failed pregnancy and her and Jon’s secret BFF relationship from the past 2 years.

Jon didn’t regret the marriage, but Tink was conviced he did because he had drilled it into her over the past 2 years. In order to get Tink to beleive him, he set up a series of stations when she came to get his signature on divorce papers. 1. Matching tattoos (which they had actually already both gotten). 2. Jon’s therapist available to talk to Tink about anything she had questions on about Jon. 3. Fertility specialist and adoption specialist. Tink finally accepted that Jon wanted to be married to her, so they ripped up the divorce papers.

In the epilogue, we learn that Jon kept a log off all the people who sexually assulted him. He kept the log in his copy of The King’s Courtney, which he always carried with him. His parents were put in jail as well as most of his offenders.

Izzy and Jimmy had a second boy, Jamie.

Kit and Bobby had a baby boy, Bryan (after the Kincaid’s dad). and then they had an oops baby girl, Brooklyn. She is also pregnant with her 3rd baby.

Jimmy and Bobby both went back in the octagon and won championships.

Aiden and Tina had another baby girl, Alexandra, and then another baby, Sarah.

Jack is about to turn 21. He has been fighting professionally since he turned 18. He has been crushing it and is even still with Steph.

Tina set up women’s shelters all around the country using the money from her ex (and Evie’s bio dad).

The ending scene is Jon forcing Tink to pee on a pregnancy test in the ally behind 188. They get arrested for public indecency, again… but they find out Tink is finally pregnant after 2 years of failed IVF. She actually has twins, Luke & Bobby.

Review:
Tink and Jon’s relationship feels a little toxic to me. There’s a lot going on there that doesn’t feel healthy…

There isn’t too much spice in this book, which is a commonality with the rest of the series.

It hurt my heart to know how much Jon went through as a child. And it hurt my heart that Tink went there that failed pregnancy pretty much alone.

"Rest now, Leo. I've got your back."

Holy shit. This book...holy shit.
Up until this point, I believed that Tink and Jon were fuck buddies. But, oh my god, the truth gutted me. They went through so much shit. They started as friends, went to friends with benefits, back to friends, then strangers, then accidentally married without anyone realising anything?!
Tink had to go through miscarriage alone, thinking that she wasn't good enough, and then Jon was carrying all this guilt about his past, his abusive parents. For God's sake, they both deserve so much better.
But they found each other, in the end. Jon realised what an asshole he was and truly made up for his bullshit behavior. He pursued Tink the way she deserved to be pursued.
I love them.

This one brought a couple tears. Leo and his Sunshine sure put each other through hell before they found their way to happy. I might have wanted to smack Tink a time or two, due to her inability to hear and believe what Jon was telling her.

I stand with Tink and the rest of the family, thinking slamming that truck into the shittiest parents ever, would be worth the 30 years.

Each Roller has a story. Some of them are worse than others. As I read thru the survivor series, then on to the Rollers I realized one thing. . . this author can write her sickerdoodles off. Jon's story is one of the harder ones. Not only did he get the crappy end of the stick with parents he got more. The Kincaids literally saved both him and Izzy, but no one has been hurt more by his childhood and the results than Tink, his Sunshine. This is an emotional read that will take you to the dark place Jon's head resides as his number comes up. Now he not only has to battle his past but he has to battle the demons that have transferred and dulled Tink's shine. His hurtful words and his abusive past have him seeking, needing and finally finding redemption, not only with Tink but with his past. Another amazing read from this author who takes ordinary characters and brings them to life. They aren't just characters in a book they are friends. Their pain becomes your pain and you become part of the Crew. The Rollers are expanding and soon there will be another generation and that means this author gets to come up with more ways to torture me and my emotions.

Ugly cry

This book...no, this series is a must read. I know I’ve said on my reviews on some of these others in the series about how it plays on all of my emotions. This one right here...I ugly cried more than once. I laughed a little & got really mad several times. This one brings tears from events that happened from earlier books, but seeing them from a different perspective changes things. I was warned by Emilia that it would be emotional. She didn’t lie, & she didn’t disappoint!!!!

This is one of the most emotional books I've read in a long time. I cried from beginning to end! I wanted to not like Jon for how he treated Tink, on top of being codependent on her. But, I ended up loving him anyways. I didn't like him a few times through the book though. 😂

This book really surprised me. I have been absolutely terrible about reading this series out of order. And all her other interconnecting series. I have been reading the audiobooks that are available at my library on Libby whenever they come available. Which has been super out of order. There has been some confusion here and there, but overall it has made me that much more interested to read the other couples books that I had missed.
But this book I was equally interested in and unsure about. I had read the one before this one in the series, book 4 which was Aiden & Tina’s story. So I knew I wanted to read “Tinks” story, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read Jon’s story. But since they were the MC’s in this book, it clearly was a packaged deal.
From the little I knew of Jon before it just seemed like he was an over protective man-whøre who was just using Tink.
But man was I wrong.
I will not go into detail so I don’t spoil it. But by the end of the book I was head over heels for this guy.

I haven’t experienced such a full out opposite feeling for the MMC from beginning to end in a lloooonnggg time. I was thankful Emilia dropped in little birdseeds that he was really an amazing man throughout the story. Because if she hadn’t, I would have DNF’d this story way at the beginning. NOT because her story was hard to get through. Solely because I struggle with MMC that are horrid and the write never redeems them. I just can’t. But she was kind, threw us a bone here & there and continually reminded me why I have become obsessed with this author. She keeps it fun and spicy, but also intense and heartfelt.
How it can be all those things? I’m not sure, but she does it. If you haven’t read any of her books yet- I highly suggest it.
You should be smarter than me though and start with the first in this series Finding Home ;)

Every book in this series continues to get better than the one before. Finding Redemption was a breathtaking journey filled with heartbreak, passion, love, and laughter. I think I experienced the full range of emotion while reading Jon and Tink's story. Written so beautifully I was fully immersed into their world. I sobbed with both Jon and Tink, I laughed hysterically with Tink's sass and the sarcastic humor that runs through the entire Rollin' family, I cried tears of happiness when the love between them was so powerful it almost hurt. The entire Rollin' On series is phenomenal, but this book, it blew me away.

We go back to the very beginning with Jon and Tink in Finding Redemption. All the way back to that very first night when Kit and Bobby met. We get to follow what we didn't see in the rest of the series. Being one of my all time favorite series I thought I knew everything like the back of my hand. I was so wrong. You won't believe what was happening behind the scenes with these two. You're treated to a whole new view of characters you thought you knew and a new perspective on things that happened before. Spanning from childhood all the way to the present, you learn so much about the man Jon really is. And what an amazing and incredible man he is.

I've made it very clear I have a favorite man out of this bunch (I'm looking at you Jack! XOXO) but Jon, sweet, hidden, misunderstood, Jon, he gave my favorite a run for his money. Jon and Tink both shattered my heart more than once throughout their journey but it made their happiness so much more beautiful when they got it. This is an absolute MUST READ. I would shout it from the rooftops if I could. READ THIS SERIES! READ JON AND TINK!

3.5 stars rounded down

So. Like with the other 4 books, the writing tense in the book is inconsistent. One minute they are talking in the current tense and then the next they are telling a story of their lives and skipping over time.

Jon was absolutely awful in this book and his reasoning for not wanting a relationship is exactly what I guessed in book four. And it was dumb. I liked the other characters in the book though and I liked that the storyline ran consecutive to Bobby's storyline. We just got to see the other side of the coin. Although the fact that Iz basically knew all along and didn't say anything was a bit odd considering her relationship with Jim.

I also felt like Jim and Jon were similar in their attitudes and jerkiness. Jon was probably a little bit worse. I liked him in the other books with the snippets of him and Tink, but I really couldn't stand him in his own book. :-( So the other characters in the story overall really saved it for me from being a lower star rating.

The one thing I did really appreciate though was the wrap up at the end. The epilogue was nice to see how stuff came out down the road. That I will say there was redundancies there too and some of the writing. And I noticed it before, and it's one of those things that you read it, and then you read the next sentence or paragraph, and you're like, I feel like I just read this. And that's really what it was a couple times. It was just reworded and then elaborated.

I'm looking forward to the final book for Jack and seeing how things turned out with him winning his own championships and such with his girl by his side.

I knew I was going to cry….

Holy cannoli , this series keeps on bringing all the feels. Laughing one moment, angry another, then swooning a bit, and add in heartbroken and crying. It’s definitely a roller coaster ride. We have learned quite a bit about Jon’s life throughout this series, but now we see the parts that he kept hidden from everyone else. Even the baby sister he committed his entire life to raising and protecting. He is such an amazing, strong, honorable, WORTHY guy, but also deeply broken inside. And as a result, he hurts Tink over and over for years, even when all he wants is to protect her and love her. As I finished each book in the series, I was sure that that one was my favorite and the most emotionally challenging book. This one is no different. There is no crazy ex or family member out to destroy either of them, but this time the battle is against themselves. Having to overcome a lifetime of scars that run deep, trying to decide when you quit hoping for something more and chose to move on. It was painful at times, and my heart hurt right along with them. Their HEA was hard fought, but perfect. I loved the epilogue, and seeing a peek into the future. I adore this family, and will most definitely be adding this series to my reread rotation.

This is the fifth book in Rollin’ On series by author Emilia Finn. This is a standalone book with a HEA and NO cliff hanger ending.

I will say that after 5 in a row, that all these characters are intertwined in the stories, we have known the main male and female characters since the first book. The reader will be doing themselves a great favor if they read all the books in order because these books rely on the reader already knowing some information. There are large gaps in the timeline, jumps could be months, and events are glossed over, but if you have read the previous books you are fine. The character development over the five books shows great interactions throughout all of the stories as a reader we were invested in Casey aka Tink aka Sunshine, and Jon aka Fart aka Leo before this book.

This book is about best friends that are struggling with their own personal demons so they have a hard time seeing what is right in front of them the whole time. There is drama but no danger in this book as the past books. This story has lots of heat, some sweetness, some pettiness, a little tragedy, some heartbreak, and a great deal of humor and sarcasm (which I really love). I laughed out loud in some sections, and my heart melted in others.

An angsty and emotional love

Finding Redemption is the fifth book in Emilia Finn’s Rollin’ On series. It is technically a standalone romance, but Jon and Casey’s story started way back in book one of this series. We’ve been waiting for the answer to the will they/won’t they question for a long time now. This book takes us back to the beginning and weaves its way through all of the stories from Jon and Casey’s perspectives. So there are definitely spoilers for all the previous books if you have not read them yet. This is a friends to lovers, slow burn, angsty love story. Jon has a dark past and feels unworthy of love. Casey falls in love anyway and struggles to let him go if he can’t give her what he needs. I struggled with Casey’s character in this book. She is so strong and feisty, never takes crap from anyone, and always ready to stand up for those she loves. But in this book we see things from her perspective instead of what she lets everyone else see and I struggled with seeing her as weak. But I think that was the point, it’s a pretty real view of a relationship and a difficult love.

Finding redemption

So for book 4.. I thought it was so hot and steamy with Aiden's story with Tina.

I didn't know how I'd like Jon's book since I wasn't crazy about him. He was probably the least liked character for me during the series. He seemed like a jerk. Super overprotective of Izzy. And then of course we think we see him being not so nice and not committing to Tink through out the series.

Holy crap....I cried like a baby during this book. My heart broke for both Tink & Jon. I laughed out loud whenever I wasn't crying. I love this series. More than I have enjoyed a series in a very long time.

It reminds me of Kristen Ashleys rock chick series. You LOVE the huge bunch of characters. You laugh. You cry. You freak out. Some of it is a bit scary. There may be a kidnapping in one book. Maybe a baby or 2 or 5. And at the end of the series you wish you were a part of a group of friends like that. This is exactly how I feel..going into book 6. Jack's book. The final book in the series.....Im heartbroken by the way

>Book Review – Finding Redemption
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 5th book in the Rollin On series and ends in an HEA. This story deals with the Kincaid family’s BFF, Jon. Jon’s backstory is one of terrible abuse. Jon spent his childhood protecting his baby sister from the same abuse. Jon would go to the Kincaid’s home to recover. Jon doesn’t ever want to marry or have children because he doesn’t want to pass on his “tainted” genes. His plan works well until he meets Casey. Throughout the previous 4 books, Jon and Casey seem to be together, but more of a “friends with benefits” kind of way. In this story, we see some of the previous scenes from Jon and Casey’s point of view. The scenes really look different when you are in the headspace of Jon and Casey.
>This story has a lot of miscommunication and heartbreak, but the HEA is so worth it. The previous characters are all here and the second generation is growing up. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars. Casey is so much more likable in this book.

I have read ALL the Emilia Finn books. I started with Kit and Bobby and read the Rollin On, Survivor, Checkmate and now the Next Gen series. This one with Jack and Britt is a great finale to the original Rollers. I would recommend starting at the very first book Finding Home, seeing Jack go from the angsty 15 year old to a grown man thru the series makes this book feel like such great closure.

When Jack tragically loses his girlfriend in a accident he is lost and turns against the family that loves him unconditionally. In his downward spiral he meets Britt, who helps him get back on track. They have super hot chemistry as I have come to expect and love in Emilia's books. But they also "get" each other. Where Jack's old girlfriend was shy and not ready to rock the boat, Britt with her tats and piercings challenges him, which he needs.

Finding Redemption also introduces the characters from the Survivor series (we already knew X and the band guys but now we see a bit more of their hotness) so get ready to seep reading!

Review: This story was such a long time coming. I loved that Emilia Finn went back and started from the beginning of their friendship. You see snippets of their relationship in the other books but it’s so different from what they portray to their friends. So much happened between them over their two year plus friendship and no one in their family really knew what happened. Both of them have so much scaring and trust issues, but they take to each other immediately. I loved that they started with a friendship that grew so strong and developed to something more. It killed me that Tink tried to protect her heart but Jon blew right through her walls. She knew she would get her heartbroken but she couldn’t stay away. I love the steps that Jon took to better himself. I was so happy with the ending and the epilogue! Talking about where all the couples were in the epilogue made me so ridiculously happy. I’m definitely a type of person that loves to see where everyone is years after the book ends and this definitely did it for me!

Fantastic

This is book 5 in the Rollin On series. Each book is such a delight. This book is about the rocky relationship of Tink and Jon. Jon had a very troubled childhood which we learn much more awful things about. Jon therefore is afraid of commitment and doesn't want children to spread his awful seeds to. Casey who was nicknamed Tink because she's little like Tinker bell has loved Jon forever despite his only allowing casual hookups. She settles for that since he refuses to be exclusive. They are best friends and often together. Much less about the fighting in this book. Jon really works hard to corral Casey forever. It's very surprising who the women is that we're led to believe he's also sleeping with. So many Kincaid offspring are born before the conclusion of this book. Such a troubled relationship gets a hea.The last book is about Jack.

I was not expecting Casey and Jon's story to make me cry!

These two have been on and off since book one and I was so excited to get a story with Casey in it finally as she had been featured so heavily in the other books. That said, she was hiding some major developments and HOW DID NONE OF US KNOW? Did no one ever check on her? Kind of rough on a friendship that no one every checked in to make sure she was doing okay.

Anyway, surprise marriage, Jon dealing with childhood trauma finally, Casey coming to terms with her future goals, and the whole family coming together, this honestly felt like it should be the end of the series (not that I'm complaining about getting a Jack book next), but I'm not disappointed because I've grown to love the Rollin family and don't want the series to end.

Books must be read in order, having said that on to the review.

I so very much liked Jon and Tink's story. I love when a writer is able to spin a web so engrossing you can visualize the scenes as if your a fly on the wall. Emilia Finn did that especially towards the end of Part 2. My heart broke for Jon and the things he went thru, it made me understand him and his philosophy so much better and because of this I understood Casey's point of view on certain things. I wished I could give him a hug. I also loved the funny moments sprinkled throughout the book. When i can laugh out loud, I know im going to have a fun time reading a book. Please do yourself a favor and read this series, I have read all the books so far and Jon's story is my favorite so far.

I absolutely loved this book because it really tied up Jon and Tink's love story throughout all the books and really made everything clear. I really enjoyed how it retold aspects of the series so far with context as to where they were in their relationship and how their characters handled particular incidents.
It really dawned on me by this book how much I enjoyed the series and how significant it was for me as in the past I usually become disinterested in a series of this nature by the second or third book, however, each and every book had be fully engrossed and ready to continue the series and see how the series progressed. If this doesnt tell you how great this series is then I dont know what will.

Jon and Casey

You just know this one is gonna hurt. When you read about Jon as a child, nothing can take away that hurt and awfulness until you read about the whole story from Jon. Your heart will hurt and make sure you have tissues. I loved each of these stories and love that each guy found love but this one you really want!

A little sad we didn’t get Aiden’s book and we just have to read a little about it. Evie would have been amazing to read about. This book reads really heavy and there are definitely some triggers so be cautious before going in. I won’t bother with a recap because by now, you should have read the first 4 books so you know about Jon and Casey. Very good reads overall. Hated the cut off endings.

I gobbled up all 6 of these books in a week. And I agree with the author’s friends. They aren’t shit.

I was so invested in this family, I cried way too much through books 5 and 6, and now I need my book friends to read them so we can be gutted together.

Seriously, there’s some fluffy/non flowy bits that I’m willing to forgive because overall the series is awesome and I’ll gladly reread it. And the miscommunication trope is So Strong - but she does it so well.

It’s also endearing to see an Aussie author writing a US based series- the tiny things I had to overlook or look up were honestly adorable. (“Six and a half” being 6’4”, 5,000 mile wide country, a certain euphemism, it was fun.)

Proof editing was on point. I think I found 2 mistakes in 6 books. Bravo.

I have loved every single book in this Rollers series and this one is no exception. This is the story of Jon and Tink. We thought we knew their story from the first 4 books in the story, but there was so much we didn’t know. Honestly, this book runs you through the gauntlet of emotions.....happy, sad, angry, hurt, and then cycles back again. I literally read it in one sitting and only regret that I have to wait 10 more days for book 6 to come out. At this point, I will read every single book Emilia Finn puts out. I love her writing and love the family aspect to her stories.

Finally, we get the story of Jon and Casey "Tink". My emotions were all over the place with this book. I was mad at Jon, I was mad at Tink. I was heart broken for Jon, I was heart broken BY Jon. I was heart broken for Tink, I was frustrated with both of them. But, their story is so worth the read! I love their friendship and their nicknames for each other. I love their HEA and the glimpses of the rest of the gang that you get and find out how their HEAs are shaping up. I highly recommend this author and this series.

Jon & Tink’s story

I have become obsessed with this series since I read book 1. I feel in love with all the characters. I do have to say I was quite disappointed with Finding Redemption. It did a LOT of backtracking and you were pretty much reading the first three books over again. There was also a LOT ago skipping. Then as it got to the end of the book, it’s like she crammed everything in for Tink and Jon. I wish she would’ve elaborated more on them, rather than repeating what you had already read in the first three books of the series.
