Till Death Do Us Part

Rate this book
Five years...

It's been five years since the world's entire female population mysteriously changed into shambling, flesh-eating undead. For Esperanza Costales, that means coping with the loss of her mother, surviving in the Tennessee wilderness with her father and brother, and wondering whether or not she's the last living woman on Earth.

Esperanza and her family have adapted and learned to count their blessings, but when a group of escaped convicts led by a crazed psychopath named Frankie stumble upon their camp and kidnap her and her father, her new life is thrown into chaos. By taking advantage of a late-night zombie attack, she barely escapes captivity and flees into the forest, alone.

Injured, frightened, and separated from her family, Esperanza nearly loses hope until she encounters a group of four men. Jason, Derek, Roland, and Joseph have survived the world's end by putting aside old feelings and embracing their harsh new reality, but their routine is shattered when Esperanza enters their lives and brings into question everything they thought they knew about the Apocalypse.

As Esperanza and the men learn more about one another and themselves, will they be able to form a bond strong enough to survive attacks by the undead and pursuit by Frankie's gang? Will Esperanza ever see her family again? And in a world full of zombies and psychos, will a woman and four men be able to find love through despair?

This book is a Reverse Harem romance book. This means the main heroine will end up with multiple male partners. It is NOT traditional romance. Please be advised.

TRIGGER -No- forced intercourse occurs in this book, but it does contain scenes of said nature which may be intense enough to cause a trigger response in sexual assault survivors.

Absolutely Loved Till Death Do Us Part!!

No spoilers of any kind included!
This book omg this book was so freaking amazing!
I was completely hooked before I had even finished the first chapter!
It hit everything that I loved to read in a story, it had action, steam and zombies along with the MCs being the perfect blend of vulnerable and kick butt!
This is the first time that I have ever read anything by AJ Lee and I got to say I’ll definitely be reading more of his work in the future especially when it comes to this series because I have to know what happens next!
So it’s a big HECK YEAH I most definitely do recommend this book because I thought it was totally awesome and I highly recommend it to anyone who’s searching for a fantastic story to crawl into and get completely lost within its pages!

One of my favorite R.H. books

This book is awesome. I don't think I have ever felt so many emotions in 1 book before. Esperanza is one bad chick that has earned my respect. She protects those that she loves and would stop at nothing to save them. And her men, talk about a great group of guys. This is a slow burn romance filled with pain and hatred. There is so much suspense and it leaves you biting your nails every bit of the way. I highly recommend reading this book. You will not be disappointed.

Umm violent much

Ok so the characters were not that interesting to me. I felt off with Esmeralda and I thought she was kick as s but something was missing. The characters kept getting hurt what the he'll was up with that. The story was what kept my interest going. I couldn't wait to see what happened next. Well since there is a cliff hanger I'm hoping there's an additional story to this.

Zombies and cultists and pirates, oh my

Esperanza is the last woman on Earth. Alive, that is. The other females have all become shambling, flesh craving (and not in a fun way), ravenous creatures. She wakes up slung over the back of a piratical scavenger who kidnapped her from her family but manages to escape in the confusion caused by a herd of zombettes. Frankie, the jerk who clubbed her over the head in a caveman like fashion vows to reclaim his prize but Esperanza makes for the tree line and disappears. Although she tries to hide she's discovered, but not by Frankie's goons, by 2 guys who try to calm her before her head wound sends to the ground for an unscheduled nap. Taken back to their camp she wakes to 2 more guys who're part of this small and maddeningly sweet post apocalyptic survivalist group. Pops, Judas, Glasses and Sky; also known as Jason, Roland, Derrek and Joseph, are the small band trying to survive and avoid the madness consuming the other survivors in these times. Frankie doesn't take rejection well, though. And the people they encounter trying to stay ahead of him are even crazier. But Frankie has her brother and father, and nothing good can come from that. Choices will have to be made but risking one loved one for another is a horrible option.

This was an amazing book. There was no insta-love. When people are trying to survive and everyone's against everyone who isn't one of "them" trust is hard. Five years and civilization hasn't really stabilized. These guys are still scavenging and just getting by. They've adopted a locust mentality instead of putting down roots and trying to re-establish life. Maybe it's because the lack of women? They gave up when they realized life ends with them? I'm not sure. We don't really get to peek into the "bad guys" heads. Mild trigger warnings, when discovered some guys get handsy. Some guys get a lot more than handsy. No actual rapes occurred but some were close calls. I get that five years is a long time. I would hope that "mankind" wouldn't harden and become so awful. Five years is a long time to go without hope but it seems that instead of recognizing the treasure a female would be they all go caveman and try to drag her off. Well, except for the guys, her guys. Some of who, even after five years, seem softer instead of hardened. I liked that each relationship progressed at its own rate instead of all in all at once. I was intrigued by the plague/virus/chemical weapon/whatever caused almost all women to become walking corpses. What was this war briefly mentioned? What country/ies decided to sink so low as to attack the women specifically? The other 2 groups did the usual safety in numbers routine but her group made a decision to remain insular. Were there no other like minded people? AJ Lee has created this very interesting world and I need more details lol. And I desperately need a sequel after that ending!

This novel is NOT for the faint of heart. There are elements of: violence, horror, attempts at sexual assault and depraved actions.
(Note, the harem men are 👌. There is no dub-con or non-con with them.)
But... buckle up, buttercup! A.J. takes you to a place where humanity is lost, morals are forgotten and true Evil exists. And it's not the Dead that will give you nightmares. BUT... at the heart of this story is hope and a will to not only survive and exist - but to live!

If you're not bored yet, read on for more...
I believe, unfortunately, that A.J.'s novel shows us how the world could be without rules and laws.
At the root of this story are the questions: what are your limits? *Are there limits anymore? How do you reclaim your humanity again when you're just trying to survive at any cost? And how do you survive when everything is either: destroyed, lost or already claimed?
I have to say, A.J.'s writing is the real deal. It reminds me of older works from Stephen King - and how colorful an author can paint a world with words. (If you don't enjoy S.King, at least know that it's an attempt by *me to be a huge compliment. Lol.)
In A.J.'s writing I can actually visualize the scene and it becomes a movie for me. The emotion is raw and gripping: a rarity found in today's writing.
If you're in the mood for a VERY plot-driven story, this is for you! It is a long read, so grab a blanket and settle in!
Ending on a partial cliffhanger, it's not a brutal one since their story arc continues. Think of it as just being a different chapter in their lives.
And while this IS a reverse harem, the first 25% of the book is more about character and plot development. BUT... when the sexy times do happen, they are passionate and steamy! MF and MFMM. And in this world, the RH doesn't seem fake, or contrived by the author by any means.
The characters are realistic, and their individual traits are tested in this brutal world. They are perfectly imperfect - my absolute favorite type of characters. 💚

Spoiler free, as always! Okay, okay, let me guess – when you think romance and sexy reverse harem novel, “zombie” is probably not what comes to mind, right? Well, I have to say, I love me a good zombie survival novel, especially with a romantic storyline thrown in, and upping the sexy factor this way? Hell. Yeah. This was one of the most unique and interesting books I’ve read in AGES. In a world of shifters and magic and all-powerful save-the-day reverse harems…I absolutely love the gritty, dark, end-of-the-world theme that is so well woven around the romance. Even more, it’s not forced or uncomfortable, but a natural progression throughout an action-oriented and witty plot that kept me on the edge of my seat, desperately hoping and raging with the characters, feeling every ounce of sorrow and rage they expressed. This isn’t some fluff book that you can read and leave – and I love that. Incredible characters that are thought out and truly in depth – making you think about things like, if this were a real situation, really, WOULD any the skills so many of us deem useful now even matter? All in all, if you are looking for a book that is more than just romance, more than typical – this is it. This is suspense, action, and deliciously sexy romance packed into a flesh eating novel that hilariously calls zombies by the moniker of “Jennifers” which is, by the way, the BEST use of my name in a novel I’ve ever bloody seen.

This is a world of depravity and AJ Lee managed to not only bring it to life, but weave and incredibly real and beautiful romantic story line. First we have an apocalyptic world full of zombies... and not JUST zombies but they are ALL women which just brings the horror up a notch. Then we have Esperanza who is the only fully functioning women left. Because of this her life becomes a constant battle. She not only has to run from crazy Jennifers (the zombies), but also all the corrupted, evil men who have gone flipping nuts since all the women have turned into zombies. There were many situations in the book that made me flinch and recoil. Many more that made me sad for people left living, and some still that broke my heart and made me fear for the characters. There are triggers in this book - near rape and abuse - as well as others. However, the story is beautifully and uniquely written. The characters have depth and grow as we read and I became invested in their happiness and success. As for the romance (yum) - it was progressive and natural. No insta-love here. In the RH I typically read the relationships develop so quickly which is typically explained supernaturally, like a mate bond. While following Esperanza's story you can feel the progression and hesitancy making it feel so much more real. I am super happy I picked up this book!

This book is seriously amazing, I love zombies and this was a whole new take on the zombie outbreak! This novel is fresh, original, scary, intense, sexy and SO action packed! The outbreak only effected women, making Esperanza a coveted commodity. Which is why her family have been keeping her hidden and safe, until something goes wrong and she has to run for her life. Making it difficulty trust anyone and unsure where to go from there, she stumbles upon a group of men that are actually kind and only want to help. Throughout this novel Esperanza encounters attempted rapes, depravity, kidnapping, horror elements and extreme violence. She and her group go though so many trials and tribulations, ups and downs and work as a team turned family unit to stay alive and safe. The twist ending had my mind reeling and left me anxiously awaiting book twos release!

A.J. Lee has written a great book with Till Death Do Us Part. The zombie concept is very different to other post-apocalyptic books I’ve read before, especially with the Zombies (aka Jennifer’s) being female. The ending has a twist that you probably won’t see coming.

This was definitely a little bit of a different story to what I would have normally read. The story is one that will grab your attention with the fantastic characters - Esperanza and the men - Joseph, Roland, Derek and Jason developing with their own traits and personalities throughout the book, as well as a great storyline.

Note that there are some trigger warnings, as mentioned.

This is the first book by Lee that I have read, and while it started off slow I really enjoyed it. I liked Esperanza - she was a fighter and a survivor. She tackled challenges head on. The guys were great too. It did take me a bit to keep them sorted since they each had a real name and nickname, but I liked the individual personalities. The relationships between each of the guys and Esperanza was unique and I liked how they each added something to the team. The story does end with a twist and I hope there is a second book because I want to see what happens with the crew.

So, in the beginning this book was a little slow for me and it took a while for me to catch on. However, as I read along I began to love the story and character development. Esperanza is inspiring and a wonderful example of a strong woman. This book was full of different emotions and I enjoyed them all. Of course, the men were also a wonderful bonus to this book. I think that the characters really complemented each other and that the author really put effort into this story. Definitely a good one to read!

So well written, I was compelled to complete in one sitting! I can't get over the intricate details and heartfelt passion this writer has accomplished. Amazing is not a strong enough word to convey how I feel about this book. The reader is able to truly see and feel what the characters are going through at every turn. Can't wait to read more from this author. Steam 10/10 * Sweetness 10/10 * RH * 3rd POV * cliffhanger

This book is amazing! It's so well written and the story is just so good.. There is a lot of action in this book and it keeps you guessing. The story is very original and captivating. Imagine being the only woman who hasn't turned in to a zombie. How scary and difficult life would be. Would you think you would ever be able to find love again? You have to read this book. I can't wait for the next one.

3.5 // 5

My first impressions of this book are that this book was enjoyable and I'm definitely excited to see where the story goes next after that ending (if we get a second book, that it). I thought the characters were enjoyable and the plot to be pretty interesting. Overall, I would recommend this to RH lovers!

Good story

This is another in my new favorite mix genre of horror and RH. It has a wonderful set of characters that really draw you in. You fall in love with the good guys and easily hate the bad guys. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes horror and a bit of romance.

Till Death Do Us Part is an amazing book! I ugly cried my way through the pages as fast as I could just to see what would happen next. It's fast paced and very well written. Both the world and character building were detailed and interesting. I highly recommend reading this book.

Zombies!

This not your average zombie story. Esperanza is kidnapped by a group of ex cons. She may be the only woman who didn't turn into a zombie. I loved the ending and I really hope to see a second book after that cliffhanger!

👍

This book was good. There were a few things that really should have been more in depth. There was no explanation for the virus or why it only targeted women. But even saying that it was worth the read. It would make a pretty good sci-fi movie. Lol.

Cliffy end

I am not going to lie, I HATE the ending and I will seriously be so upset if there isnt another book to this. The way this was written was very strange to me too.
You could feel the heartbreak and love through this book though and overall it was great!

This book was just ok. I wasn't captivated by it, but I also couldn't not finish it. It took a lot longer for me read it because of this. There was like no steam in the book. The story was a bit hard to follow at times too. The author killed off the best character too quick.
