Melissa goes from riches to rags but will she find gold in a holiday affair?

The one thing Melissa never thought she would be was poor. Dirt-no-place-to-live-scraping-together-change-poor. But she would climb back--eventually. She was determined and proud after all.
Until she met a hunky Uber driver who was all wrong for her. Then she began to see things a little differently.
But in spite of her eye-opening holiday affair, would she turn down the opportunity to get together with the great-on-paper-guy-of-her-dreams?

This sexy new adult romantic comedy is meant for adults, new and otherwise, and is part of the Margo & George series set in the fabulous Big Apple, New York City.

Holiday Affair: A Sexy New Adult Romantic Comedy by the talented Stephanie Queen starts off with a Holiday dud for Melissa. She's forced to leave behind the glamorous life in Manhattan, as well as her career, her bank account and, oh, the loss, of her designer wardrobe. Melissa’s between feeling grateful she hasn’t had to claim bankruptcy and bitter embarrassment she’s lost that most precious commodity – her status in the business world.

Then, along comes Lucas, the fascinating Uber driver, and an equivalent of the man of her dreams. Forgetting her woes, Melissa’s feelings turn to the primitive and sexual as the two converse - Lucas calls her ‘A Singular Woman’ and she becomes hot, perplexed and distracted – All emotional unknowns to the woman she thought she was, while she fights an intense attraction to a stranger.

So, she invites Lucas to her friends’ Christmas Eve extravaganza, where her vivid, hungry and passionate dreams of making love with Lucas could come true, if only…

This is where I have to stop because revealing more of Ms. Queen’s incredibly hot and captivating intimate scenes between Melissa and Lucas is just not fair to her readers. You’ll need to savor not only the deliciousness of her storytelling, but Melissa's journey of awareness, as she discovers status and possessions don’t mean a thing without the bonds of love with another.

Not to mention those past secrets she shares with Lucas…

I LOVED this story – so much I’ve already pre-ordered the sequel, narrated from Lucas’s point of view. Further, Holiday Affair is a delightfully hot, scorching book that kept the Kindle app on my smart phone supercharged and in plug-in mode the entire length of the read.

Bravo, Ms. Queen – this story is a stunner and I am smitten with everything you write! xo

I enjoyed this romance, however it is not for the under 18 readers. I voluntarily chose to review this story and I've given it a 4.5* rating. This didn't get too far into the why's of the heroine's failing business, more about it that it did. So a chance meeting starts things a rolling in New York City. It had humor and a heroine in somewhat shock. This was also Book 10 in Love, Christmas 2 set with various authors.Onto the next.

This story is about learning important lessons on who we are and how we see each other. Melissa has managed to escape bankruptcy in her business but has lost everything in order to do that. Now she's moving from her apartment and is using an Uber to go to Margo and George's home, her friends. Everyone that Melissa knows is "upper-crust" and now she's not. She's embarrassed to let them know that she's lost everything. Her Uber driver, Lucas, is very sexy and compassionate person. As they spend time talking on the ride, Melissa starts to like him and tells him things that she hasn't told anyone else. She ends up inviting Lucas to the party. They then act on their attraction and spend the night together. Lucas drives Melissa to her parent's house and has dinner with them and gets to know each other better. In the back of her mind, Melissa continues to think that Lucas isn't up to her "standards" . When Lucas sees that she's having difficulty with their status differences, he ends up giving her space after she decides to go back to Margo and George's house to stay. As she talks with Margo, she figures out that things aren't always about status. Will Melissa be able to find Lucas again and have a great relationship regardless of their status? You should read this book and find out. I see that this book is in a series, but I didn't feel like I missed anything by not reading the previous books but I'm going to go back and read them.

On her way to a holiday party at her best friend's home, Melissa is determined to not let anyone know that she has lost her home and her business. A handsome Uber driver has her starting to look at whether keeping appearances and her pride is important. I received a free copy of this novella from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is the first story that I have read in this series and the first by this author. This is a fun story which is sometimes sweet and sometimes steamy. I enjoyed reading this and look forward to reading more by this author.

Enjoyed Melissa and Lucas's story. Melissa had just lost everything, home, clothes, business, all her money. She was at rock bottom and feeling inconsolable. Met Lucas, sweet, kind, so sexy Lucas. It is not a cliffhanger but their story continues in The Melissa Affair, coming soon. Can hardly wait.
