Detroit Born and raised, India Tasheena Norfleet became an avid reader at a young age and eventually was never seen without a book. While India begin reading a wide array of books of many different genres, it was during the late nineties that India was introduced to African American fiction and fell completely in love with stories from the African American perspective. Romance very quickly became her favorite genre. By the time she entered high school, India had no other dream bigger than becoming a bestselling romance author and poet.
As years progressed to adulthood, dreams of becoming a writer fell by the wayside as doubt consumed her and the real world set in, but writing romance never left her heart. Family and friends, as well as some of her favorite authors continued to encourage her to never give up on something she was so passionate about. So in the summer of 2010, India finally sat down to pen what would become her first novel, Playing For Keeps. India has fourteen books to date (romance & erotica) and is currently signed to Danielle Marcus Presents! India lives in suburban Michigan and is hard at work on her next novel!
This is the 1st book I read by India T. Norfleet. I loved ❤ this book's story line. I loved ❤ the hot & steamy scenes. I loved ❤ the chemistry in this story. I loved ❤ Mona's character. I loved ❤ Carter's character. I didn't like Shaun. I loved ❤ the ending. Awesome job Ms. Norfleet.
This book was a quick and exciting read. I loved the characters especially Mona with her bossy attitude. She played hard to get until she couldn't any longer. If you like books that are sure to get you hot and bothered this one's for you.
Damn this book had me all in!!! It was well written I could hardly put it down at work. Omg Mona and Carter are so freaking sexy and hot together. Can't wait to see where Mona takes Carter to.
Mona Cartwright is trying to heal from a broken heart and run a successful massage parlor, Soothing Touch. In walks Carter Valentine, who wants to buy her business and is determined to force her out, when she doesn't. There's only one problem…these two are immediately attracted to one another, and exploring the Red Room causes a plethora of problems.
The storyline was good and the plot twist was even better. However, there's were a few times when I felt like I missed something, and there were a few minor errors. This would not deter my recommendation to go read this book. My favorites character was Carter. He started out on some bs, but put it all on the line to follow his heart. My least favorite character was Denise. I couldn't figure out whether she was goofy or just plain evil. Three words come to mind…A Woman Scorned.
If you're looking for a quick read, go get this book.
I will start by saying this was a pretty entertaining read but I will be honest and say I expected more of an erotic tale. This was more of a romantic suspense. Mona was dumped via text by her boyfriend Shaun and spent years looking for closure from that situation. Years later Shaun realizes that he made a mistake and organizes a crazy scheme of multiple people involved to get her back. This was a crazy rollercoaster of a story. I will admit I continued to read because I wanted to see where the author was going with the story but some of The events were alot .From breaking into homes to showing up on vacations it just threw me for a loop. Too many disturbing things were happening and left unchecked. This book moves very fast and sometimes things weren’t adding up. Would someone really go though all of this when they messed up in this first place? Mona just came off as a naive. I feel she let wayyy to much things slide in the name of dick. Like we ain’t doing this. Also , the ending was just abrupt. So many questions left unanswered. What happened to Shaun? Did Carter and Mona get married? Like I needed the end details to be more fleshed out . Overall, I will say again that i enjoyed the twist and tears but the book as a whole was just too much to digest
Very well written, great character development and an amazing storyline. This book had my attention from beginning to end. The Red Room comes with a heated passion of sex that will have your fantasy level high. Mona and Carter had that instant attraction with a burning desire to see just how far they would go sexually. Their first night in the Red Room proved they were indeed sexually attracted to each other. The chemistry was undeniable which makes for a great fast paced read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Mona was definitely the person of interest in this book but why? Well first of all she once dated a crazy ex named Shaun, second she owned a parlor of no real value only to her, and third a jealous lover was lurking behind the scenes. In this book get introduced to the red room where nothing is as it seems but hot sex. I enjoyed reading this especially the hot scenes with Carter.
The sexual chemistry was there from the beginning for Carter and Mona. Shaun was stupid to listen to his dad and break up with Mona through a text and then try to use Hollister and Denise to manipulate Mona to come back to him. I'm glad that Mona and Carter came out on top and got their HEA.
This book did not disappoint! Mona was fierce but naive at time. Carter was forceful and down right savage in the bedroom! Shaun surprised the heck out of me. Dee Dee's dumb behind got what she deserved. I really enjoyed the plot and the sex scenes were hot as hell! I can't wait to read the next book by this author!
It is crazy what some people are willing to do for love. Shaun was a nut case and that's not how you win someone back. Denise and Shaun deserve to be together and she got what she deserved.
This book was the first book that I’ve read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sex scenes between Mona and Carter were off the chain. I’m really looking forward to reading more from Ms. Norfleet.
Absolutely amazing and definitely a read that will get your fire burning and your juices flowing with all the sexiness in this book...I enjoyed the story thoroughly plus I'm a sucker for an happy ending
I absolutely love this book. This is now one of my favorite books. I low bed everything about it and the sex scenes omg they were juicy. You are now my favorite author keep up the good work.
My type of erotica! I love erotica where it’s not just solely about the sex but as well as a nice storyline and this one kept me interested to the point where I was begging for me! Mona Cartwright was a woman who was bold and bad enough to fight for her business! Carter was definitely easy on the eyes but regardless of her attraction to him she wasn’t letting go of her business which I loved. The D was bomb but she wasn’t selling her shop for it. Her ex was should have know she wasn’t going for anything he was talking about & Hollister was just has bad as the her ex and Carter. Even though, Carter tried to double back and cover himself, when Mona needed him more he basically gave up on her which pissed me off then doubled back! How annoying! Overall great book! I wanna visit the Red Room now chile! ~Melanin Readss
Once again you have written an amazing book! Drama, suspense and hawt sex scenes standing ovation. Mona & Carter are my new favorite couple now find Hollister a girl lol.
The plot had great potential but it was clear it was written teenage wattpad style… iykyk lolz… started for the interest, ended more for the plot than the smut
Mona struggled with heartbreak & drowned herself in work. Carter laid eyes on Mona and couldn’t resist wanting her. The two tried to fight it. The addition drama made it interesting. They matched each others nastiness most definitely
Mona, the owner of The Soothing Touch is in a bind when the sexy charasmatic, Carter wants something from her. He not only wants to talk business but also pleasure as well. How far would he go to have what he wants on both ends?
Well, I can't answer that question because the book ended so abruptly. At least give us readers a lil closing. I know some books end with a cliffhanger but dang, this pushed me over the edge. The plot did grab my interest so I hope a part two is in the works.
Very much like an episode of a soap opera, "The Red Room" was a quick, entertaining & spicy read. In 38 pages...India T. Norfleet wasted no time getting straight to the punch and leaving the reader with a thrilling cliffhanger! Looking forward to part 2 of Mona and Carter's adventurous cat and mouse play.
This was my first time reading something from this author. This book did not disappoint at all. It did what it did from start to finish. Carter thought he was going to get one up on Mona but he is sadly mistaken. I can't wait to see what Mona has up her sleeve for Carter ass.
