As usual I haven't read the first two books, but this is a stand alone and the first two aren't necessary.
Molly was whiny, and I just wanted to smack her and tell her to suck it up buttercup. Jase was all kinds of hot and has loved Molly the whole time she was married to Carter. He never let it show until Carter turned crazy and then died.
I'm hoping the next book is Tiana and Mac. There's going to be a whole lot of fireworks.
‘Shattered Vows’ is pretty much what the title suggests: the gradual breakdown of a marriage, a tragedy, some suspense(lite) and the stepping in of an ex’s best friend on which the romance finally builds.
Kaylea Cross’s latest addition however, has left me scratchy and unhappy. It isn’t as simple as Molly fleeing her PSTD-ridden abusive ex-husband, but that said ex also used to be Jase’s bestie. Throw in the latter’s unrequited feelings and there’s a touch of the forbidden here. Jase/Molly’s story was always touted as an epic tale to come (judging from the tension and angst between them in the previous books) but I think it completely fell apart for me when Cross inserted Molly’s accidental pregnancy from her ex at the end of the last book.
I always like a new start for the couple in question and this seriously threw a spanner in the works. I was concerned that Jase seemed to be getting second-best and I wanted to know how Cross would address this, or at least, how satisfactorily it would be written in. Yet it was hard not to view Jase as Molly’s consolation prize, seeing as she had chosen his best friend and not given a single glance at him in the years she was married.
But the bottom line was, having Carter’s ghost so strongly intruding in their new lives together made ‘Shattered Vows’ a story I couldn’t tolerate, despite all the lip service paid to ‘moving on’. Seeing that all Jase wanted was Molly (for years) was simultaneously pitiful and painful to read about and I’d actually hoped he could move on, instead of emotionally tying himself to a woman I wasn’t ever sure wanted him for himself, or the safety and protection he represented.
It isn’t often that Cross’s books frustrate the hell out of me, but this one did in every way. Clearly this is just me and my triggers talking here; I’m pretty sure there’ll be those who like this kind of angst and a resolution that has the guy getting the girl in the end.
I knew Shattered Vows would be an emotional read. Any time you have a widow, it's tough. But, if you read the previous 2 books you know Molly's story so it's even tougher. She is wracked with guilt over her ex-husband who is now dead. She is even more guilt ridden over her feelings for his friend, Jase. Oh, and she is pregnant...yeah, emotional rollercoaster! I enjoyed the story even with the angst (y'all know I don't like a lot of angst). Jase and Molly struggle with their feelings and their guilt, Carter's problems come back to haunt Molly, and it all just tangles together. Cross does a great job of writing their story and being sensitive and realistic. Molly and Jase talk about their feelings regarding Carter. They talk about the guilt, the pain, the relief. It's all very well written. Overall, a wonderfully poignant story of second chances!
Jase has always been my favorite of the guys, so I was excited to read his story. And, Cross has been teasing the Jase/Molly relationship since book one, so I was more than ready! Overall, if you like the friends to lovers trope, Shattered Vows will probably appeal to you! Cross blends suspense and relationships very well.
POV: 3rd Tears: no Trope: friends to lovers, widow, ex-military Triggers: Series/Standalone: stand alone within an interconnected series (but, this book would be more impactful if you read the previous 2) Cliffhanger: HEA:

This is Molly and Jase's story. Having read the series from the first book, this was an inevitable pair up. I don't have a problem with the "She's my best friend's . . . in this case it's ex/widow" genre. I always root for true love. My problem is how this series treated Carter, a vet with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Carter had a complete personality change after his TBI and it was clear that he could be dangerous. Still . . . I just was disappointed that Cross turned him into a bad guy and then killed him.
Molly Boyd was living a nightmare and then it got worse. After Carter's truck went off a cliff and he died, Molly discovers she is pregnant. Now a really nasty guy tells her that Carter owes him $120,000 for gambling debts. Oh, his best friend, Jace, is acting strange on top of it all, not to mention that Molly is feeling differently about Jace too.
Jase Weaver has loved Molly from the moment he first saw her. But, she choose his best friend and he had to be content to wish them every happiness. He knew he would be there for her, always. When Carter died, he was her rock and it just about killed him being so close and wanting so much more. But, the road to true love is really, really complicated and can be rocky and hard, especially when someone is threatening her.
Jase was amazing! I loved his protectiveness and his deep well of patience. And he was so full of surprises! His love of 40’s music and ballroom dancing-I was swooning! The depth of his love for Molly though...bittersweet yet very, very touching.
Molly was such a a pretty feisty character! I loved her resilience and her strength. She had a rough go, but managed to pick herself up, dust off, and move forward. She did hesitate a few times when she should have embraced the moment, but thankfully came to her senses!
Jase and Molly’s push and pull tugged my heartstrings! Jase had the worst luck when it came to timing, but I’ve got to give him credit, he was stubborn! Their attraction was loaded with stomach-curling tension and the sizzle was HOT!
And the suspense! Kaylea Cross can do suspense likes nobody’s business and here was no different. I was on the edge of my seat at times, hoping things would work in Molly’s favor all the way to the end!
Book three of the Crimson Point series, Shattered Vows is why I love romantic suspense! Jase and Molly’s story had a thrilling chase, a sweeping romance, and such awesome emotions, keeping me engaged from beginning to end!
I really don't know where to start with this review. I have mixed emotions about this story. I really loved to hate it is how I feel. I loved the story but some of the characters really worked my nerves and had me screaming at my kindle because I wanted them to go away because they didn't deserve what they were getting.
Molly was married to Carter and he was a real arsehole who treated her wrong. He got her mixed up in some things and she needed help and their best friend Jase came to the rescue. Only Jase has always loved Molly and watched his best friend marry her and give her the family she always wanted. But Carter got himself into some things and died which left Molly all alone.
Jase knew what he had to do and that was step up and be there for Molly no matter what. His only issue that he had was whether or not he should tell her his true feelings. When he finally does things go okay but Molly acted like a BIATCH and that bothered me because Jase was willing to take care of her and the baby she was carrying even though it wasn't his.
Like I said I loved to hate this story but I loved me some Jase and we need more men like Jase in the world!
I actually really like Cross' writing but this one did not live up to my expectations in the slightest. Don't get me wrong, the book was mostly readable, however I did find myself skimming bits but it was so cliche and repetitive that it was totally predictable and therefore frustratingly monotonous sadly. Not a winner for me this time.

Continuing the Crimson Point series, I knew we would get the story of Jase and Molly. Jase has been in love with Molly since he met her, but Molly married his best friend, who is now dead. I was excited to get their story.
Shattered Vows has great characters, multiple things happening in their lives, the great connection of the retired military guys and the growing friendship between their families and friends. I knew there would be a huge emotional outpouring with Carter's death. Molly still loved him but couldn't trust him. Somehow I expected the story to be about all these emotional aspects and her pregnancy.
But this is romantic suspense, so a threat from Carter's past jumps up to make more trouble for Molly. It did add suspense. I thought the guys and friends handled everything extremely well to keep Molly protected. But I felt a little like it distracted from the feelings and depth of these characters, while providing more action.
I liked Molly and Jase. Jase was the BEST guy, handling everything in the most comfortable and pleasant way for Molly, even if she didn't want to spend time with him. Molly had so much to handle between work, pregnancy, money issues, family issues and now Jase's interest. I understand it was tough but I wish she could have been more honest with Jase, telling him she needed more time rather than letting him feel rejected at times.
The story wraps up at breakneck pace and I already plan to read Rocky Ground which was nicely set up here. It will be released March 26, 2019.
SHATTERED VOWS frustrated me in all the best ways because I wanted the character to be together and be happy but the world just kept throwing obstacles in their way. From the very beginning of this series, we've followed Molly's tragic journey as she and her husband dealt with his traumatic brain injury and increasingly erratic behavior. With divorce papers on the table, Molly suddenly finds herself a widow and it's her friends that she leans on for support. I really admired Molly's strength to get through everything thrown at her; she handles it all with grace, dignity, and grit. I wasn't sure how the issue of guilt would play into the story but I thought that Kaylea Cross handled Molly's emotions and concerns really well. I also loved the deep friendship Molly has with Sierra and Poppy and how much we saw how important that friendship was.
Watching Jase deal with his long held feelings for Molly was so heartbreaking because you could tell how much he cared for her and how much he was willing to sacrifice for Molly. We so often see books with the heroine pining for the hero so I liked that SHATTERED VOWS was the opposite. I loved Jase's steadfast and dependable personality and the way he's always looking out for Molly. He makes her feel safe and I think it just took time for Molly to see how much he cared for her beyond friendship.
I do wish that Molly and Jase could have figured things out faster because once they get together they have such amazing chemistry. Jase's playful and charming way was exactly what Molly needed to move forward with her life. This wonderful and emotional romance blended perfectly with the suspenseful side story and I can't wait for more in this series.

Content Warning: Molly’s husband suffered a traumatic brain injury while overseas which drastically changes his personality and results in their separation and eventual divorce; several times Molly fears for her safety around her ex-husband due to his mood swings
This is the third book in the Crimson Point series and while technically it can be read on its own, I highly recommend reading the other books in the series. In the earlier books, we saw the troubles Molly was having with her husband Carter and just why she had filed for divorce. After being injured in Afghanistan, Carter was struggling mentally and Molly was no longer able to safely live with him. Fortunately for her Jase was always there but until this book, Molly never knew just how far Jase was willing to go for her. And who wouldn't want a guy like Jase in their corner! This was a terrific novel of romantic suspense and I appreciated how the author handled Molly and her mixed feelings regarding Carter. It felt as though she was very sensitive in the way she handled the entire Carter situation. It looks as though the next book will be centered around Tiana and Mac, given Tiana's background that should prove to be a great read.

I've been journeying along with the Crimson Point series for a while now, but this was the one story I was really looking forward to for a while now! However, I find myself somewhat disappointed with it.
We knew from the previous book that Molly had a less than ideal situation happening with her soon to be ex-husband, one that wasn't entirely his fault. Then, there's a monkey wrench thrown into that same situation, and suddenly he's died right on the eve of his divorce. That should have paved everything for the new romance with Jase, but it didn't. Molly was too worried about Jase having a hidden TBI syndrome, like her husband Carter had, that she kept pushing Jase away. Add in the suspense angle with the loan sharks, and it made for this awkward push pull that didn't really resolve until the very end of the book. I also didn't like that Molly never saw a therapist about the abuse that Carter had heaped on her or the fact that she never really mourned Carter's death before jumping into things with Jase. She claimed that she'd done her mourning a while ago, but I think she was really mourning the death of her marriage, not Carter himself. It was a convenient way to not discuss those issues.
I also really hated that Carter was hanging all over the start of the relationship with Molly and Jase. Molly being pregnant with Carter's baby was the start of it, but his hateful words to Jase about how he had Molly even though Jase loved her on replay all the time didn't help matters any. Then this mysterious loan with the loan shark plot line comes along. It felt a little convenient, and just one more way to keep Carter's memory alive and well in the story.
If I ignored all those issues with the story, I was actually well entertained and could actually enjoy the story at times. I just feel that this story is going to be the weakest of the series.
Let's start off by saying this was a first time read by this author and this was a cute story about a second chance at love again in the mist of tragedy.
The story had a bit of drama, loss, love and healing. The story packed once heck of a surprise and thank god her husbands friend Jase stepped in to protect his friends wife.
Jase and Molly have had a thing for each other but, have been tap dancing around their feelings for years but, when she is in danger Jase and Molly put their excuses aside a give things a go.
I loved Jase in this story he was so sweet and torn over his former best friends wife and struggled with his feelings for some time but, in the end was the perfect match for Molly in every way.I loved how protective her was of her and the lengths he went to keep her safe.
I really enjoyed the sweet romance between the this couple it made you think that fairy tales come true after all.
I jumped in in the middle of this series but that worked out just fine. Perfect to read as a stand alone but I think I may scoop up the previous books as well. Wonderful suspese element all mixed up in Jase and Molly's tabooish relationship.
Jase always knew Molly was the one but he deferred to his best friend. When Molly's world falls apart, Jase is there to help her. Finally, he gets the courage to tell her how she feels.
Lots of emotions rolling around this one. Great group of friends in Crimson Point to support these two as they find love again. Great story!

Molly Boyd’s entire world was turned upside down when her husband Carter suffered from a traumatic brain injury when deployed. As his personality turned out of control due to his injuries, Molly has had one constant in her life . . . her husband’s best friend, Jase Weaver.
Jase Weaver has been in love with Molly since the first time he saw her. When she chose his best friend, he stepped back and kept his feelings to himself . . .but he vowed he would always be there for Molly. As things for Molly go from bad to worse, Jase can no longer keep his feelings hidden.
Just when Molly thinks things can’t possibly get any worse than they already are, a new and deadly threat has her in its sights. Already confused about her feelings for Jase and conflicted with what her future should look like, Molly isn’t prepared for what is coming her way. But, now that Jase has finally let Molly knows how he feels, he’ll do anything to protect her, even if it costs him everything.
I was thrilled to get Molly and Jase’s story! I was left absolutely heartbroken for Molly at the end of Buried Lies and hoped that the author would give her the story she deserved . .. and Kaylea Cross certainly did!
Molly is such a phenomenal character. She’s been through so much as a military wife, but she’s tried to stay positive through the many ups and downs and tragic events life has thrown at her. She smart and capable and tries to see the good in everyone. The conflict she feels when dealing with her feelings for Jase shows just how deeply she loves and how loyal she is.
Jase is truly a sweetheart of a man. He’s put Molly first for years, even when she wasn’t his. Now that he has a chance to be with her, he won’t give it up easily and will tackle anything in his way from Molly’s own misgivings to flying bullets.
The author has also done a fantastic job of weaving the couples from the prior books into the story. While it can be read as a standalone, reading it as a series adds so much as these characters are family to one another and there are some overarching storylines that carry throughout.
Shattered Vows was beautiful and heartbreaking and uplifting all at once. It’s a truly amazing romance with suspense that will keep readers flipping page after page. Kaylea Cross also gives us a tease of what is to come next, and I’m crazy excited for Mac and Tiana! 5 stars!
This was my first read by Kaylea Cross, and I'm sure it won't be my last. I do wish that I had read the other books leading up to this book. While I could understand the story without having read the first two, I did feel a little lost on the background that I feel was probably presented in the previous books. However the story was still truly enjoyable and I really did like this one.
Molly Boyd is stuck at a cross roads her ex-hsuband suddenly passes away, and a man that has been a friend and confidant for years, and happens to be her deceased ex's best friend stands on the other side of that road. Molly's struggling with her feelings and her guilt over Carters death, but truth be told the man she married hasn't been the same for a long time. Molly is trying hard to deal with her new normal. But a threat she didn't know existed stands between her and future...
Jase has been in love with Molly for years. He stood by as she married his best friend, and watched as their happiness deteriorated since Carters injury. But with Carter gone and Molly needed the stability of friends and family to adjust to her new normal, Jase is reserved to be "just friends" with Molly and keep his unrequited love for her secret forever. When Molly and Jase are forced closer due to Carters activities while nearing his end, Jase is determined to try, what's the worst that can happen?
This was a truly slow burn book. Molly and Jase have a lot of guilt and feelings to overcome throughout this book. I did at times find the 3rd person to be a little bit slow and lightly too much monologue but overall the story was well done, well thought out. I would have liked a little be more to come out of the ending with the threat to Molly, but I was satisfied with the way the book ended and I really loved Molly's journey to self discovery after her tragic story.
I really do like Cross's witty dialogue and she has a great way to telling a story. I will definitely be reading more books from this author in the future!
Molly Boyd is struggling to deal with her world falling apart and her unexpected pregnancy. On top of that, she realizes she has feelings for her ex-husbands best friend, Jace. Jace Weaver has been in love with Molly since her first saw her, but she chooses his best friend instead. He has stood by for years watching her be happy with his best friend. Now he is stepping up to help her during these trying times. While dealing with all these new feelings and new life a new threat appears from her ex’s past.
From the beginning of this series we knew Molly and Carter would have a tragic end. Molly has struggled to deal with Carter’s traumatic brain injury and increasingly erratic and dangerous behavior throughout the series. Divorce papers are filed but Molly instead finds herself a widow, with a baby on the way. I loved Molly. She had to deal with so much but dealt with it with dignity, grace, and determination. I admired the heck out of her for how she dealt with everything.
Jace has had feelings for Molly for years and has hidden it from her. Seeing him deal with his feelings and trying to talk to her about them in the beginning was heartbreaking. He was always there for Molly, even when it looked like she didn’t have the same feelings for him. Jace was dependable, steadfast, and protective. It took a while but once Molly realized that she takes a chance with her heart. This was a beautiful blend of romance and suspense. I can’t wait to see what will happen next in the series.
Tragedy turned the man she loved into her greatest threat, unraveling Molly Boyd’s entire world and her feelings for his best friend aren’t helping matters. For years, Jase has been a solid, steady source of comfort and friendship, but now she can’t stop seeing him as something more. He’s expert at unrequited love as years ago, Jae Weaver stood by and watched his best friend marry the woman of his dreams and he’s endured and suffered in silence ever since. But since stepping in to make her safe, Jase can’t stay silent any longer.
An emotionally turbulent read that has readers experiencing a whole range of emotions tied to a second chance romance. The characters are strong, captivating and readers can’t help but fall for them and their situation as Molly and Jase to deal with their attraction. Molly’s not sure she can open her heart again after the devastation of what happened and Jase isn’t sure that he can survive remaining close to her if she can’t which keeps emotions running high throughout this heart rending romance.
The fast paced plot takes the suspense of this romance even further as it adds adrenaline pumping, hair raising danger from someone who believes that Molly is responsible for her ex-husbands debts, pulling Jase and his friends together in order to protect her. Some surprising twists keeps reader on their toes and ensures that readers can’t put the story down until they have read every last word of this captivating romance.
When Molly’s husband returned home injured from his last tour a much different man than he left. Unable to handle the destruction his injuries brought she was in the middle of a divorce until he passed away. Now Molly finds herself alone, pregnant with people from her husband’s past wanting her to settle his debts.
Jase fell in love with Molly the moment they met but she fell in love with his best friend. He kept his feelings to himself as any interaction with her was better than the alternative. Now that she is in danger and needing help nothing is going to stop him from claiming the woman he has always wanted.
This is a story of love, healing and second chances. I really enjoyed both characters as Jase was so patient and understanding as Molly worked through her grief and guilt and the author managed to balance suspense, emotion and chemistry into a perfect package.
I started this series you saw glimpses of the main characters here they seemed to have lots of history. I was curious to see what happened to Molly and Jase from the previous two books. We saw what happened to Molly and her ex Carter and the whole struggle. How Jase has always been there for her and has always had unrequited feelings, wrong timing and such. There was much more angst than I expected but that was assured with the whole premise. There was a struggle to admit feelings from Molly's end to give them a chance, they both have residual guilt over Carter. I'm glad they talked about it though and moved forward eventually. The suspense bit helped them along with those uncertain feelings too. It was an emotional story with a widow and new feelings for someone for sure, well written and sensitive enough to that theme. There is a hint for a possible next couple and it seems interesting!
Molly is an ER nurse and married to Carter, a former Green Beret, but he came back from a mission with TBI. Their marriage has been going downhill since. She files for divorce but he comes after her. Jase has loved Molly since he meet her, he saw her first but when she laid eyes on Carter, that was it. Now Carter is gone, she’s pregnant, and had debt collectors after her. They want her insurance money but they don’t know how they are going to rule the accident. Jase will do anything to keep her safe and admits his feelings but Molly is scared. She’s been through so much and thinks Jase could turn out like Carter. It takes some time for her to figure out her feelings but she doesn’t want to lose his friendship. She is working and gets threatened by the man wanting the money Carter owed them. Jase comes just in time and chases them. He gets shot after shooting the other two. Can they get him to the hospital in time to save him? Loved this story. Action, mystery, sex, and a nail biter. There are some parts that may bring a tear to your eye. Romantic and so darn good I hated for it to end. * Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *

I was really looking forward to Shattered Vows purely because Jase and Molly got to take centre stage, and it didn't disappoint with a story that was much more emotional, but no less enjoyable to read. And frankly, I found it genuinely hard to put down.
And with such a genuine and likable hero and a resilient heroine, not to mention a touch of suspense it truly was a great read, and one I would happily recommend to others.
If you've been following along with this series then you just knew Jase and Molly's story was going to be a gut-wrenching roller coaster and Kaylea Cross didn't disappoint.
My favorite part was catching up with Zoe, gosh I love that woman.
Shattered Vows by Kaylea Cross was an emotional and touching second chance romance. The characters had a great connection, but so much history. Their journey was not an easy one, but their love was strong.
This series is really fantastic. This book was amazing. Watching Jase struggle with his feelings for Molly and her feelings for him was a wild ride. Kaylea did them a solid story. It was really touching and heart wrenching! But HEA prevailed again!
Molly had a good marriage until her husband had a severe concussive brain injury that changed his personality such that he spiraled out of control with anger and abuse. After his tragic death, his best friend, Jase, is there to support her. Jase has always loved Molly but always kept it light and friendly until his best friend’s disastrous end and Molly’s continued endangerment from the ex’s past. This has many of the same aspects that I like so much in Susan Stoker novels (romance, suspense, friend groups, some positivity – although not quite as much) and are good but somehow not quite the same. I read the ebook. 4/5
This is another amazing addition to the Crimson Point series with Jase, Carter's friend and fellow special forces soldier fullfilling his promise to take care of Molly,Carter's ex wife. After Carter's head trauma he had been acting very erratic and out of contol. His abuse towards Molly was something he could not tolerate when he freaked out after receiving their divorce papers he beat her and she ran away hiding in some bushes.Jase confronted Carter punching him after finding Molly beaten and Carter ran away. Carter later ran his truck off the road and died. Now they had to pick up the pieces of his death and Jase needed to show Molly how much he has always loved her and hope she feels something towards him. To make matters worse loan sharks wanted the money that Carter borrowed and did not repay before he died. Molly was also pregnant with Carter's child and was clueless about the money Carter borrowed and was now being threatened with bodily harm if she did not repay this debt. This story was exciting as Jase saved Molly's life and takes a bullet while taking down these loan sharks. Molly also admitted her love of Jade while almost losing him from his injuries. This was a fantastic, action packed love story as Jade and Molly get their happily ever after and he becomes her child's father assuming the role before the baby was even born. He was there for her from the beginning protecting and loving her and now their baby.
Shattered Vows is book 3 in the Crimson Point series. It’s honestly the ONE book I could not WAIT to read. I’ve been wanting to know Jase and Molly’s story from book one, and boy was this one worth the wait!
Molly & Jase have been friends forever, but she had no idea he’s loved her as more than a friend for all of this time. When her life unravels even further, thanks to her now dead ex-husband’s shady dealings, will she be able to let him in, or will she be too scared to grab her happily ever after?
While this book CAN be read as a standalone, their story really begins in book one, so if you really want the entire backstory and to be able to really understand where these two are coming from, you’ve got to read the books in order. With that said...I think they are all worth it!
NICUnurse’s Rating: While I anxiously anticipated this story, and I truly love both Molly and Jase, I felt like too many parts of Molly’s POV was out of character for the Molly we met and fell in love with in the first two books. Molly is a very strong female lead, and while I understand she’d been through a trauma, and there were pregnancy hormones to deal with, when it came to running to–and dealing with–her family, that wasn’t consistent with her character. Before this book, I could have definitely seen her struggling with stronger feelings–romantic feelings–for Jase and trying to get away from it all (him and the other drama). But it felt a little too obvious for her to run home. I always hate to give less than 5 stars to authors I love, and I do love reading Kaylea Cross books. But I have to give this one 4 stars because that detail just seemed...too easy. Any good hitman would have known ahead of time where she was from and anticipated that move. And I could see that Molly would have run...but more like somewhere new and secluded to really think things through.
All the negative aside, Shattered Vows is still a really well-written book that I’d absolutely recommend to any romantic suspense lovers out there. And I am very much anticipating the next book!
SHATTERED VOWS is book three in the Crimson Point series. It's a standalone so feel free to jump in here if you haven't read the first few books!
Molly Boyd was in the middle of a divorce from her husband, Carter, when he died suddenly. Now, she's a pregnant widow in the small town of Crimson Point. But she has good friends and she also has Jase Weaver, Carter's best friend. Jase has been quietly in love with Molly for years, even before her and Carter got married. But he stood by his best friend and now he'll stand by Molly as she navigates motherhood. But when a threat from Carter's past puts Molly in danger, Jase will do whatever he needs to protect her.
There's a suspenseful element that spices up the plot but more than that, this is a really sweet love story. I actually haven't read the first two books (hangs head in shame) so if Molly, Jase and Carter were mentioned before, I'm not sure. All I know is in this book, I loved Jase and Molly together regardless of whether or not it would be considered "forbidden" to be in a relationship with your best friend's ex-wife. Molly was great, she was smart and tough, she was loyal and sassy. But for me, Jase made the whole book. Oh, Jase! I may have she'd a few tears for him and his unrequited feelings for Molly. He was a super sweet teddy bear wrapped in a hot guy's body! Jase truly did everything he could to take care of Molly and her baby...SWOON!
Overall, this one was a slow burn romance between a hot ex soldier and a strong, single pregnant widow. Expect a sweet, sexy story with just enough tension to keep you on the edge. Told from various POVs with a delightfully happy ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
I knew this was going to be a bit of a tumultuous read. Between Survivors Guilt, unrequited love and trying to protect Molly, you know Jase was never going to have it easy.
Molly may appear to some as thinking Jase was 2nd best but she clearly admits to wanting him first before she was dazzled by Carter. But it was clear that whilst they may have loved each other, Carter wasn't always the perfect hubby. Even before his slide into insanity due to his TBI, Carter seems to have been able to take his wife all too easily for granted.
Molly deserves happiness and her baby deserves a family. One that wants them rather than feeling an obligation to want them. Molly's own family aren't exactly going to win any medals either. I've always been a proponent of a family is what you make it and Molly seems to be ready to embrace that too. Crimson Point is now her home and no-one, not even Carter, his ghost or his bad decisions are going to chase her away!
Jase and Molly may seem to fall into a relationship quickly but Molly and Carter were apart for a long time before she finally left him and love has it' own timetable. it won't arrive when society or small-minded folks, determine the right amount of time has passed.
Looking forward to Mac and Tiana's story. Come on Mac, do the home country proud - even if you are from Edinburgh and the girl who broke your heart was a Glaswegian like me!
