Children's entertainer William Lee Baxter, AKA Bubbles is about to have a very bad day as a bunch of demonic clowns invade his town. Teaming up with a young boy and his dog they try to escape, but the odds are stacked against them in this terrifying horror fantasy from the author of Zero Hour.
Can a person ask for more than; a magic mirror, killer clowns and a monster dog??? I guess not right? You will get this all in this book and I have to say I really enjoyed it. It is cute and funny and it keeps you on your toes for those killer clowns we all dream of. That is why it gets 4 points.
Bubbles is exactly the kind of horror story I didn’t know I needed, darkly hilarious, unsettling, and fast-paced in all the right ways. Eamon Ambrose takes the innocent image of a children's entertainer and flips it on its head, plunging the reader into a nightmare filled with demonic clowns, unexpected allies, and relentless tension.
The writing is sharp, the pacing never lets up, and the atmosphere builds with an eerie sense of dread that creeps under your skin. What I really appreciated was how Ambrose balances chaos with heart, there’s real emotion here, not just gore and shocks.
It reads like a cult classic in the making: wild, weird, and deeply entertaining. Fans of quirky horror and indie-style thrillers will eat this up.
Highly recommended if you like your monsters bizarre, your protagonists reluctant-yet-lovable, and your horror served with a side of twisted fun.
I was sure I already owned a copy of this book, and this morning I was looking for something short and sweet to re-read but it wasn't in my account, and no review here! Not that I needed the excuse to review it.
Bubbles is a short story featuring some people's worst nightmare - Clowns!, and unfortunately, the nightmare is about to become true.
It's a great short story, and despite the scary nature of the clowns themselves there is some humour packed in too. Very enjoyable.
