Eric knows what he needs…he just doesn’t think anyone else will want it too.
He’s finally reached his breaking point. There’s only so many times he can put himself out there and get shot down. After a disastrous first date at a BDSM club, Eric is ready to walk away and push his desires to the furthest reaches of his mind—but then up walks Marcus. But just because the sexy older man is looking for a submissive doesn’t mean he’s looking to be someone’s daddy.
Marcus knows what he wants, and he’s spent months getting everything perfect for his boy…now he just needs to find him.
When Marcus sees Eric at Bound & Controlled, he’s immediately drawn to the sweet submissive who’s desperately trying to hide his devastation. Marcus steps in when he sees the sub’s evening going wrong, but he’s not sure what the shy submissive is looking for. Just because he wants the boy to need a daddy doesn’t mean he’s going to get what he hopes for.
Quiet Strength
Eric’s grown more confident. He has to admit that.
With Marcus’s love and support, he’s stronger than ever, but it’s not enough. His daddy’s given him the ability to go after what he wants, but there’s so much more that feels just out of reach. Eric doesn’t want part of the lifestyle or some of the submission…he wants everything.
For Marcus, there’s nothing more beautiful than watching his boy’s confidence grow.
Marcus loves every step that Eric has taken on his journey, but he doesn’t want to push his boy too far, too fast. And when the only part of Marcus’s future that’s clear is Eric by his side, it’s not fair to his boy to rush things. A daddy should be able to provide for his boy. A looming retirement and a questionable future aren’t enough. Not when he wants to give his boy everything.
When it comes to their relationship, Eric is ready to jump in headfirst. But how does Eric show his daddy that everything doesn’t have to be planned out to be perfect?

I'll read just about anything, and I'm not mad that I tried this, but it was pretty... meh. The kink went a little too far down a road I'm not interested in travelling, but it's not even that aspect that made this lacklustre for me? It's just that it was boring. Simple romances with common tropes can be great (the book I finished before this is an example) but there has to at least be something special about the characters or writing or something. And in this... eh. Eric is a newbie at a kink club, and after a lot of bad experiences, he thinks he'll never find a partner with what he's looking for. In swoops Marcus, who just happens to be everything Eric wants and needs. The romance was fine! But I was kinda hoping for some deep emotional intensity and searing character insights, of the kind I get when I read a Misha Horne book. This all felt pretty surface level, and alas, I never got that invested in the characters.
I mean, I did finish it! But that probably says more about me than the book. Oh well, on to the next.
I didn't know what to expect when I started reading this. New author. New topic. But these two books contained a very beautiful romance, a loving relationship, and a well-planned out exploration of ABDL daddy kink.
When I look back on the hundreds of pages I read, I can't believe how much time I spent with Eric as he met Marcus, who would become his daddy, and then started to allow himself to explore his needs with another person. The buildup of trust, the baby steps taken, the slow nurturing provided by Marcus, the exploration into friendship with others in the lifestyle, and so much more kept me coming back day after day to see what else was in store for Eric as he allowed himself to own his kinks and to trust that his daddy would care for him no matter what he wanted and no matter what he did.
The author did a beautiful job introducing the diaper use, Eric's acceptance of himself, and Marcus's need to care for Eric in every way. I can't say enough about how much more this book turned out to be than I expected. I would love to meet them again in a sequel. Highly recommended to those who are interested in this theme.
Strength: The Complete Series is written by M.A. Innes and narrated by Kenneth Obi, contains the two books Silent Strength and Quiet Strength.
The series touches on age play, including diaper/adult baby aspects, and mild BDSM between two consensual adult men. As I have found to be true with M.A. Innes' books, the subject matter is so well written with la good storyline and characters that are endearing. Even if you previously was unsure if you wanted to read about this sort of kink, you find that you get drawn into the story and want to see the characters find a HEA. I love the dynamic between Eric and Marcus. I love how the support of his Daddy, Eric grows into himself. Their love is strong and the right fit for what they need and want. Even the supporting cast of characters as to the overall energy of the story.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
For the Audiobook- The narration by Kenneth Obi is well done. Great, smooth voice that's easy to listen to.. it helps bring the story to life.
This was really.... Different. I was constantly going back and fourth with do i like this? I don't like this. Maybe i like this? Should i feel weird for liking this? This isn't weird. Or is it? I like this. No wait.... I dont. Ok.. I like this.
Ive never heard of any of the stuff this book goes over and I can honestly say i am not interested in doing my research to figure it out. Mostly because i can oh most guarantee if i saw what was going on visually as opposed to just reading this, I'd probably be incredibly embarrassed.
This book is definitely 95% erotica, with 5% of just enough story to get that erotica to happen.
Its not bad and the Erotic moments just help build what story they are trying to tell with a new budding relationship.
I say 95% erotica because even when sex stuff isnt happening. A very specific ongoing erotic light kink is happening, oh most always, to help build up the tension.
The kink is something call a 'little'. Like super extreme role playing age play. This involves diapers, bottles, cribs, cutie pajamas, fingering, anal, bathtime and coloring books.
Its tastefully done despite the sensitive kinky subject matter. Respect and comfort levels is portrayed as a top priority and consistently through out the book.
I recommend it if you're looking for a quick Erotic fix with something different.
While I’m enjoying the age play books I’ve been reading, this is the first baby type book and I have to say it’s a bit much for me. Also, in the beginning, I found Eric’s worries to be kinda annoying. I kept debating whether the author just didn’t realize adults wear cartoon t-shirts and stuff like that all the time or what. I mean, I know I’m more exposed to adults that act silly since I’m part of the gaming community but still I have to wonder if there are really people out there that oblivious who would think someone like myself that wears cartoon shirts and has stuffed animals is automatically into age kink. And geeze there are adult coloring books for therapy. I don’t know, I feel like my over-critical annoyance with the extremes Eric went through with his anxiety over anyone discovering his secret kinda ruined what was otherwise a beautiful love story.
Marcus is so patient and more than willing to go at Eric's pace. Eric has a lot of reason to fear his own desires. He really suffered some heavy trauma as a teenager. I think his aunt is great. He may never have felt completely at home in her house but she accepted him for who he was without question. I think in her own way she laid the foundations for this relationship to bloom. I love how these two settled into each other. That Marcus was allowed to have his own stuff that was unsettled and that he too had to realize that life doesn't always have to be perfectly order to move forward. When he accepts this everything really moves ahead.
Strength: The Complete Series by M.A. Innes Five Stars
Strength is a passionate read following a couple from beginning to end. I love the character growth between Eric and Marcus. Eric starts out knowing he needs something but not exactly what he needs or how to get it. Marcus is a more mature and strong character who knows exactly what he wants and finds something in Eric. They definitely have chemistry but does Eric have the strength to let Marcus take control. This is a wonderful all around great romance. I highly recommend.
I got this book in complete series but wish I didn't. Book 1 was good, very slow build up and a really nice read. The problem was that book 2 was more of the same. It never really went anywhere.
Books need to rise and fall like the tide but this one didn't, by the time I was finally finished I was bored with same old same old.
There are so many things that make a relationship work and even more to consider when there is kink involved. When you read these two books you can see how acceptance and trust can lead to a beautiful, loving, and satisfying relationship. I love Eric and Marcus.
I purchased this book with the audio after reading it through Kindle Unlimited about a year ago and I enjoyed it even more the second time around. I have no complaints, this is a very fun story.
