I really enjoyed reading this but I wouldn't put it in a romance category because their fight for survival was a much more dominant theme. In fact, I would have been completely okay with the story being solely about their struggle to survive with only a hint of a future.

There are some odd spelling and grammar mistakes but I find when I'm engaged by a story, which I was, they don't bother me nearly as much as when I'm bored.

This was a quick and fairly gripping read about Miranda and Andy getting stuck on a desert island after their plane crashes. The story is a very interesting and refreshing take on their relationship since the majority of MirAndy fics are set in the world of fashion.

Couture is no longer a priority however when you're dehydrated, starving and about to die. So what happens when Andy gets hurt and Miranda is forced to step up? And how long will it take for them to be rescued?

Though well written, there were some moments when I had to suspend my disbelief. The writing style was also not my favorite since it's 1st person POV. Overall this gets a 3,25* rating.

3.5 Stars for this Devil Wears Prada fanfic. A sequel (Somewhere Progressive by RedCharcoal aka Lee Winter) is available.

Runway is doing a photoshoot in the Philippines. In the middle of the shoot, in the middle of the night Miranda wakes up Andrea and tells her to pack, the two of them are returning to New York. Andrea (now the First Assistant) learned it is best not to ask questions such as Why? The first leg of their journey was supposed to take them to Okinawa City, Japan. Only it never arrives. The plane crashes into the ocean...

This is the story of their survival told in first person POV (Andy). This is the story of how each demonstrated their strengths and especially why Miranda Priestly or rather how Miranda got to where she is - tenacity, strength, and determination served them well. However, having Andrea as the only view point, Miranda still remains a mystery in someways. I thought this was a good choice.

A good story. But be prepared to suspend belief in some parts of the story.

Yikes. I'm really sorry to say this wasn't for me. In fact, the only reason I decided to read it was because it's the fic where RedCharcoal's companion pieces stemmed from (Those I have yet to read, and I dearly hope they're much better than this).

As others already pointed out, you'll have to suspend disbelief on this one a lot. And I do mean A LOT. But you see, that's not one of my strongest suits when it comes to reading stories that aren't sci-fi or fantasy. Despite everything that happened, I was bored with this for the most part. The lull in which I wanted Andy and Miranda's relationship to be better worked on didn't deliver. I don't even understand why romance was added here in the first place. The effort to foster their romantic relationship was barely there. I mean, you can't honestly make me believe two people stranded on a deserted island would hardly talk, right? This notion is even worse considering these are two people who know each other and are working closely together. Ugh. Anyway, I won't say anything more to avoid spoiling things, because nothing much happened as far as the MCs' romance is concerned.

As for the writing, the author has some strong writing skills despite some spelling and grammatical mistakes. I wouldn't mind reading another one of their stories even if this one didn't work for me.

4.5. Intense, well written story. Lagged slightly for a few chapters, but still an excellent read.

3 stars. I wasn't crazy about the writing style. Also, Andy's character was a bit annoying but other than that this was pretty good. I forreal thought that they both would end up dead and my heart was in my throat the entire time I was reading so kudos to the author. The tension is high in this and I was on edge. I liked the way it ended and I'm excited to read the sequel written by RedCharcoal (aka LEE WINTER!) to see what's next for Mirandy. They deserve the happiest of happy endings.
