I just can't with this one and I expected so much more.

Everything about this MC is ridiculous. The Misfits live in a house fit for the Kardashians, deal in jewelry, but are supposed to be big, bad scary good guys? WTF is going on here? Also, the heroine is annoying AF. Her attempts at being funny fall flat and I find her more silly than endearing. As for King, he is more angst ridden than an 13-year old emo kid from the burbs. I just can't.

The other issue is that the book jumps around too much and everyone feels so superficial. I typically stick books out to the end whether I hate the characters or not, but my brain shut down one too many times to keep it going. This author definitely has her audience and I'm just not it.

PS, I couldn't help but laugh at the term Rugrats. Instead of being intimidating or impressive, I just keep thinking of poor Chucky from the cartoon trying his best to shed his old image and be a bad ass.

This book...aaaahhhh! First of let me start by saying that I LOVED IT! But I could be a little biased because I am a history buff and one of my favorites is the Medieval era. The very first book I ever stole from my mother to sneak and read was a historical romance with a Viking as the hero. The twist offered in the book into modern times, and with it being done so well, really makes this story what it is, for me. The references to historical figures, objects, and scenarios brings the story full circle. As to King, one thing Xavier always does well, is make you fall for the hero. His sweetness and caring behavior, in how he handles Imani, does not mar his strength and intelligence that he has to display when dealing with the Misfits. He seems to be very balance although emotionally insecure about where he belongs. One thing he is concrete about, and that is Imani. He will not be swayed from how he feels about her. The story surrounding the Misfits reads like a real modern-day tale of a war of good and bad kingdoms where one kingdom wants to be the ruler of all they survey and the other just wants peace. Who will be the winner? We all know there are always casualties of war. The question is who will be the casualty? I am so excited for the next book. I know it will be just as good.

Holy Hell I wish I could give this book more than five stars. Xavier has hit us with a new MC series and I am all about it! I devoured this book, cause I couldn’t stop turning the pages.
King aka Adonis is a Nomad in his club, but not by his choosing. This man is loyal to a T. His brothers are is family, and the club means everything to him, but his inner termoil has him questioning his place in the club.
Imani is something else. She is smart as a whip, she has one liners that had me cracking up, she is a woman that has busted her butt to make it were she is today. But, in one night her life gets turned upside down.
Adonis and Imani’s adventure starts off with a bang. These two are a match from the get go. She can show King how to trust and have stability, while he can give her life some action in a normal mundane life that she is use to living. I honestly think he will wake her inner goddess, while she may tame the beast so to speak.
This book is action packed, funny, suspenseful, sexy, everything that is rolled into one! I can’t freaking wait to get my hands on book two, cause be WARNED, a major cliffhanger is where she left me! Like she’s trying to kill me slowly!

Just Plain Good!!

Yeah something new and refreshing from one of my favorite writers.We are pulled into a modern day King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.I love the chemistry between King and Imani it is just wonderful.They are like watching an episode of your favorite tv show.This story has everything thing you want in a good read and then some.I love the girl power that is on display in this story it is so refreshing to see.I say Ms. Neal has knocked it out the park with her first time in the MC world.Looking forward to I know what is going to be a terrific series.

King’s Return

I found this book on a FB ad and the last few I have tried from ads weren’t great so I was a little hesitant to start....but this one..WOW!! I can’t believe how fast I was drawn in and how much detail and truth went into this book. So many MC books are written with zero clues or reality. Loved the author took the time to understand and truly create a believable club and characters. I can’t believe how fast I finished the book and am hooked to wait for the next book!

The King is Back!!

Adonis and Imani had an immediate attraction that didn't seem unrealistic. I'll admit that the book started off a little slow, but quickly drew you in and took off from there. I enjoyed the humor and the interactions between the club and King's "Old Lady". What was really refreshing was the clear communication between King and Imani. No suspicions were allowed between them.
Can't wait for Part 2.

King's woman has got some sass going on, “King in front of club members, Adonis when we’re naked…” He wets his lips at the teasing. “If we ever become naked.” The sass I just loved the sass, “it’s just popcorn, King. I can make it myself. Been making it since I could reach the microwave.” I really liked this book, I loved the bomd all the men had.

Holy mother of cliffys
I really enjoyed this one. It took a minute for me to get into the story but once it got started I was hooked. I like the characters Imani is someone I can see myself being friends with her love for history is quirky and cute. King is just pure sexiness and sweet with his love of astronomy. He and Imani are a perfect couple. I'm not sold on the outlaw MC aspect I was totally confused about the bylaws. There is action and a budding love story. Thank God I can start the next book bc that cliffy was big! 😲

Action and excitement will have you flipping through these pages at an alarming pace. I finished this in one sitting. This book delves into the MC world that most of us don’t know about, or understand. The writer does an amazing job of trying to keep it “real” while also explaining things that people outside of the MC world would not know. Bring on the next book in the series!! I need it asap!

I love a good MC romance story. Xavier Neal did a very good job with this book. I enjoyed the story, it was well written, it flowed well and there was never a dull moment. King is BAE! Loving King

I really enjoyed this novel. The chemistry between Adonis and Imani was tangible. I love the back and forth between them. And super excited that Imani is such a badass. The perfect Queen for King. I can't wait for the next installment. I'm impatiently waiting to find out who the leak is and what becomes of the Misfits.

This is a definite WOW!! It didn't take long to be completely hooked on King and Imani. Their story is intense, the club kept me on my toes and I am so excited for more! The mix of danger, the sass from Imani, the heart of King, mixed with the heat make for a great read!!

Intrigue....

That's the perfect word for the ending of this book. I would have been pissed if I had not read some of the other comments. Interesting is a better word for the characters in this story. I can usually pick out the " who.done.it" in most stories. But in this one , it can be a couple. Can't wait to find out

This was a fast fucking read. Not fast as in everything was jammed in there and finished quickly. I'm not talking about a fucking cunt train done by minute men, for fucks sake, but the book still kind of leaves you holding your left tit with the lack of info. So many fucking secrets!

This is book one of three (cliffy), all on the same couple, so I can see how not all the cards can be shown at once. I quickly got excited as I saw that the book had an interesting Arthurian lit vibe to it. Which had me trying to guess at who was Merlin, Lancelot or even Guinevere. It def played with the story and MC trope. I guess I should add a disclaimer that I haven't read a lot of MC books, so I only know what I know from what little I read, but these fucks got themselves a beach front mansion? Maybe I'm used to the cum stained couches and backyard pit where the MC's I previously read about live. Also, there was not a goddamn old hag hanging around? All are young fuckboys, but what the fuck do I know. And also, I guess, yes, this is fiction, bla, bla bla. Oh, wait, wait! and the names given to the prospectors and house mouse (mice? Eh, who the fuck knows or cares) is def something to adjust to.

Let's get to the shit I'm actually here for. . . Sex was really fucking hot, like even some simple shit was hot. The action was delish, a knife is jammed at the bottom of the spine and SLICED UP, yea, that was fun to read. With all the action, I didn't get as much blood as I wanted, but this isn't a dark book so I need to hold my stiffy for the time being. The FMC is smart and tough. The MMC is a delish, tough nerd that may or may not have issues. I don't fucking know, SECRETS. There was a scene that was purely adorbs that had me seeing the chemistry and how comfortable they are with eachother. Overall, it was a good read. I should've paid attention on the number of books, but that's my own fucking fault.

Imani and King start off the series with a bang!

Adonis King Arthur has been asked to return ´home’ to Camelot where he never thought he would return to help save Maddox’s sister from a rival MC. One that takes women and sends them to be sex slaves or worse. So Camelot Misfits definitely need Kings help rescuing her. He believes he will help get her and leave again, that is until he sees Imani at the clubhouse. I was thinking, how is an assistant director for a museum going to be in a MC club party? and was really surprised by her strengths. She is sassy, outspoken and able to defend herself. Yet able to see that she needs King’s and the MCs protection now because someone has mistaken her for her friend who is trying to help Camelot Misfits MC take down the Dread MC a-holes.

Xavier wrote a detailed story full of deception, suspense and angst trying to find who is betraying the Camelot Misfits MC and it’s great to hear the details of MC life. MC’s are not for the faint hearted and surprisingly Imani is accepting and one kickass woman who is the perfect match for King. Their passion is seriously hot. There’s so much in this book that keeps me fully engaged and wanting more. I’m excited for the next book because that cliffhanger ending had me seriously on edge!

The narration was what really pulls you in for this audiobook. Lacy was perfect as the sassy, strong loving Imani and I’m excited to hear more about her. Antonio is a new narrator for me and I really fell into his performance as the alpha strong Adonis or King. Hearing King opening up to Imani about his feelings and his past with Antonio’s voice has me excited for this series to continue. Where will Xavier take us next!

Misfits MC is not the typical MC. They are the balance; keeping the peace, protecting the innocent. This has put a target on the club, particularly one of the founding families. To keep the MC safe, King was exiled. It's hard to kill what you can't find. But now he's back to help save one of their own. Unfortunately, the MC he returns to doesn't feel the same one he left, but not everything he's feeling is wrong. One is perfect. Imani.

This felt more like a prequel than a full story. The worldbuilding and history were well-done, and the character-building was good although I would have liked to get to know more of the MC in depth. The best part of the book was the night around the table sharing stories and ending in a catfight. This was the best glimpse we got into the member's personalities. The instant connection between Adonis (King) and Imani felt a little forced but I do like them together. I mainly like King and he likes Imani, so I like Imani by extension...The mystery surrounding the disappearances and the information leak kept me interested. The cliffhanger was good but I expect more depth as the series continues.

Something missing

I found this book difficult to read. From the start it wouldn’t hold my concentration and when King and Inani met it picked up a little but I felt like the scenes were incomplete. The chapter would end and start with a new dynamic and I’d think huh weren’t they just at dinner or just together but now he’s/She’s somewhere else completely. I felt their attraction to each other but not their passion and the sex scenes were.below average. Based on their attraction they should be ripping each other’s clothes off at every opportunity and can’t get enough of each other but I think there was one scene where they had sex and one where she gave him a hand job for no real reason. In addition he seemed to get all the pleasure which is a first for me in the IR genre. It’s usually the guy will do anything for her. Also the MC history/procedures were too in depth and I got lost with all the characters and their nicknames and status. I probably will go on to read the next book to see if things improve. It could be a dynamic story if all the things i mentioned were improved

This was a super-fast read for me. I'm really intrigued by King. He definitely has some alpha male going on, which I love! Imani is his perfect match. She's strong when she needs to be and can handle her own. I love that! She doesn't back down and speaks her mind. They really had an instant attraction. I wasn't sure how the ex-drama would play in but it was handled perfectly in my opinion.

And that cliffhanger!!! I'm so glad the second book is already out because I literally said "oh crap" with the last paragraph. Such a good book!

Wow what a great story! This author creates an MC world that is unique. I consumed this the from beginning! All the characters are fascinating and its exciting learning about them. But I LOVE Imari and King the best! She challenges him and he is softer because of her. Imari is the perfect girl! She’s not only is she smart and sexy but has knowledge that not everyone expects her to have. That earns her brownie points from me and his brothers. King plans to be alone but one look and he becomes hers. He has a nerdy quality about him that makes me smile. Everyone always says they will do anything for their significant other but with these two…I can FEEL it.

This is one I can listen to again and again as it will be on my favorites list. I did listen to it on audio. Lacy Laurel and Antonio Turner are the narrators. Both do a great job! This is my first time listening to Mr Turner and he does an amazing growly MC.

This does end on a cliffhanger, which I am not a fan of, but don't let that deter you! The other two are out so just grab them at the same time.

A great MC read! It's usually not my type of trope, but I took a leap of faith and definitely enjoyed this one! I would say that the beginning did feel a bit slow to me, but once things picked up, I fell in love with King! His love for Imani was addicting, making me wish I had a man that loved me that hard. I definitely look forward to reading the next book!
