Lucas Carter, the Earl of Darcy, was resisting his father’s attempts to convince him to settle down. He had fallen in love once, 10 years previous, with a lovely woman named Lia. But she had run away to escape an arranged marriage and he never saw her again. He searched a couple of years for her, but he had finally realized she would never be his. With his father threatening to arrange a marriage for him, he was trying to at least find someone he might like! His father feared that if Lucas didn’t marry and sire a child, the Montford title would die with him, though Lucas didn’t actually care about holding the ducal title.
Natalia Benson was a paid companion hired to chaperone Lady Anne Northcott, a horrible person, selfish, egotistical, and very narcissistic. The woman had her sights set on some poor man and Natalia had nothing but pity for him! But because Natalia’s cousin Callista was missing while searching for her dear Edward’s killer, she needed to see whether the Marquess or Marchioness of Seabrook would be able to answer her inquiry about her since Lady Seabrook was Edward’s sister. She loved her cousin, and loved only one other person she had avoided for many years now for his own good. He didn’t need her in his life, and may no longer even be available. But as they approached Weston Manor, she saw 3 horsemen riding across the field – and she was sure one was Lucas! He had been Edward’s friend, but she had hoped he had stayed in London.
Natalie had to escape Lady Anne’s company and find Lord Seabrook and his wife. Once she discovered Callista’s whereabouts, she could sneak away from Weston Manor and hopefully avoid Lucas. She wanted to ask his forgiveness, but her father was still after her and could put Lucas in danger.
After delivering a letter from Lady Anne to her intended, Natalie returned to her room to find it in darkness. She had left a candle burning – why was it dark? Lucas spoke and she recognized his voice immediately as he lighted the candle. He wanted an apology, but she had to drive him away. He told her he loved her – she responded that she had not loved him. So he kissed her and told her to dream of him, then walked out the door. Would she let him go? How would she react when Lady Anne made her own move on Lucas, perhaps even putting him in a compromising situation to force him to marry her?
This was a clever story line to keep the reader’s interest. With sneaky Lady Anne setting a trap for Lucas, the reader could only hope that Natalie’s actions could keep him out of her clutches. Don’t miss this book. There are many pieces of the story line that must come together – grab your copy and see how the author resolves all of them!
This was a great historical romance! This book was packed with drama, mystery, romance, and loss. I thought the characters were well developed and I loved the plot. Both Lucas and Natalia had strong, independent personalities. Natalia and Lucas have history and undeniable chemistry, but they have to be able to overcome and forget the past in order to move forward. It was nice that it ended with a HEA after what each character had gone through. Penny did an amazing job with this narration! I loved the different voices and accents that she used for each character. Her performance had me hooked from beginning to end! *I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Victim Of Love💘💔💘 Natalia ends up seeing Lucas, her lost love again, when she runs into him at a house party she is attending as the companion of Lady Anne. Funny, Lucas' father has put Anne up to seducing Lucas and forcing him to become betrothed to her. Lucas doesn't even know the woman! He has been pining for Natalia for almost ten years! Lucas decides the only way to capture and keep his elusive Natalia, is to kidnap her and take her to Gretna Green to be married!

This is a short and sweet book about second chance love in The late Regency Period.
A very well written regency romance that has a nice storyline and plot. It has a nice writing style that caught me from the first to last chapter. The characters are well defined and they develop nicely through the story. I like the chemistry and sparks. The mystery, drama and romance is well mixed and makes this a very enjoyable and entertaining read. Lucas is a man all over. He is strong, charming, brutal, protective and have lost the love of his life. He has been thinking about her for year now and wondered why she ran away. But fate always wants to have its say and it also does in this story. Absolutely a recommendable read.
Lucas has always remembered Lia, a woman he met a decade ago but hasn’t been able to find. His pops, the duke is after him to get married.
Natalia is back in Lucas’ orbit when she comes to Weston manor with Lady Anne. She’s a paid companion and Anne has set a trap for Lucas. Meanwhile, Natalia is looking for her cousin Callista and needs information.
Will Lucas and Natalia make it through unscathed? Can he avoid the trap Anne is setting for him? And the danger that follows Natalia?

Years before Lucas the Earl of Darcy had saved Lia and there had been an instance attraction yet Lia had run away. Now as a companion and looking for information they cross paths again. Now Lia has to figure out a way to help the Earl from being tricked into marriage. It was a really good story Lady Anne was something else I am not sure how Lia had any patience with her. It is a good thing the author has other plans. Good characters, well written and a fun read I so recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Lukas had met and lost the woman that was meant for him but as usual fate never really gives up. She brings the two lovers together again, but to complicate things, Lia is a companion to a woman who will try everything to get the man she has set her eyes on. Both have to decide if their assumed duty is worth giving up on the love of their life. Like all stories in this series intriguing and difficult to put down I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this historical romance with great characters, romance and intrigue. I had read the previous story where he had saved her in a snowstorm almost ten years ago. They had an instant attraction, but she ran away since she was running from her father's forced mardiage. He looked for her for years and still missed her. They run into each other at a house party where she is a paid companion. There is a lot of intrigue, but a HEA.

Great second chances! This is a short second chances story that flows quickly from scene to scene. In it Lucas and Lia meet up for the second time and sparks fly because of how they feel for each other but she is on the run and doesn't want to be tied down to anyone. On the other hand, he is under pressure to get married. Emotions flow and make this a remarkable and enjoyable story which I thoroughly enjoyed. The narration by Penny Scott-Andrews is good and lends itself to the story. I listened to the audiobook version which I requested and my unbiased review above is given voluntarily.
I think I say this every time but this time I mean it, Lucas Carter. Earl of Darcy is probably my favorite. He’s loyal head strong and knows what he wants. he’s definitely met his match I’m Lia. She’s is a also head strong and independent but to the extreme. There story is quite the adventure in how far Darcy is willing to go to have Lia. Definitely enjoyed and recommend

Book four in the Bluestockings Defying Rogues series a well written story I was not putting down until I finished reading. Lucas Carter, the Earl of Darcy does not believe in love anymore after what Natalia Benson did, but now she is back in his life as a companion to Lady Ann who is not a very nice woman. I liked reading how Lucas and Lia reconnect and get their second chance at happiness. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Earl In Trouble (Bluestockings Defying Rogues #3) was a good read by Dawn Brower. Lucas is the Earl of Darcy, he is jaded and doesn't believe in love. His father wants him to find someone to marry even though that isn't what he wants. He finds himself in trouble when his father tries to arrange a marriage for him and at the same time he crosses paths with the woman who broke his heart. I enjoyed reading Lucas and Lia's story.
I love Dawn Brower's writing! This is the fourth book in the Bluestockings Defying Rogues Series, an Historical Romance Serices. Lucas and Natalia's story is well written, funny, fast-paced, and filled with drama, mystery and intrigue. They share an undeniable chemistry! I love the ending, and the epilogue. Penny Scott-Andrews has a great voice! She did an amazing job with the narration. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

I waited way to long for this story! It is the continuation and conclusion of Lucas and Lia's story. Their story started in "One Wicked Kiss" and we were left with some what of a cliffhanger and not a happy ending. I loved the start to their story but loved the rest of their story even more. This is a fairly quick read and well worth it. They finally find happiness.
Once again, Ms.. Brower delivered another excellent book. It was such an amazing story. I really could not stop reading it. It was written with a truly masterful skill. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
His father wants him to marry but after being hurt by a last love he cannot face it. He goes away where he bumps into her again. Can they work things out? Will they try again? What when wrong the first time? See how they get on
I received this book for free for a honest review. This was a great 2nd chance story. the author did a great job and I felt like I was there. the author also did an amazing job of bringing the characters to life.
La storia di base è carina ma è tutto troppo superficiale e semplificato. Probabilmente, con un po' più di cura e approfondimento poteva venirne fuori un buon romanzo rosa storico.
I feel this story is either one you enjoy or you do not. I personally enjoyed it. I wanted to find out the history between the two main characters. I also loved this love that has been there for years and that Lucas gets another chance at it. Many times I feel books put too much detail, and even though I enjoyed this book I feel there could have been a little more development. With that said, I didn't realize it was fourth in a series until leaving this review. I may have had a little more depth had I read the other three books first. For me it read like a standalone. I will eventually read others in this series.
I enjoyed Penny Scott-Andrews voice, but I feel she could have been slightly more distinct in some of her voices.
