Review for books 1-3. All are mystery, christian fiction books. Each focuses on a particular family member and case/mystery. Each book addresses someone's doubts about faith and their journey to believing. All books are clean and entertaining. Nice reads to enjoy or reset :-)

Dee Henderson has figured it out. Her books have the perfect balance of romance, mystery, and spirituality. I love her storys because I don't have to wory about there being anything bad in them, and they're amazing books to read.

This anthology contains the first three books of the O'Malley series.
Negotiator: This first book of the O'Malley Chronicles follows Kate. The entire series is Christian romantic suspense, which means there isn't much of a slow-down until the danger is resolved.

Her love interest Dave "meets" her while she is working as a hostage negotiator (see title). When an airport is bombed, Dave works with Kate to find the bomber.

One of Dave's areas of life he holds dear is his Christian relationship with Jesus. Jennifer, one of Kate's sisters, is also a Christian. Between the two of them, parts of the book could be seen as pushy Christian conversion porn; pushy could be urgent, but that's an undercurrent through the whole book - from hostage negotiation to the finale because it's suspenseful and supposed to keep the reader "on the edge of their seat". I'm not sure if the author's portrayal of God would stay with a real life person in that situation as opposed to Kate, who it did stay with and helped guide her actions towards the end of the book.

Guardian: This second book of the O'Malley Chronicles follows Marcus. The entire series is Christian romantic suspense, which means there isn't much of a slow-down until the danger is resolved.

Marcus is a United States Marshall. His job is to protect people. The specific person he is assigned to protect is his love interest. Shari, a speechwriter for political figures, is in Chicago for a judicial conference. Judge Carl Whitmore, a family friend, was giving a speech, when Shari got a call. After the call, she was disorientated so she entered the command center for security, where she met Marcus. After the speech, and everyone was in their hotel rooms, Shari surprised Carl's killer, who also shot her brother and father; her father eventually died. Shari is the only eyewitness to who shot the judge. The case and the investigation is covered through Lisa O'Malley, Dave Richman, and others.

Shari, her brother and her mother went into protective custody and at her father's funeral, she was shot at again. Her protective detail includes Marcus and Quinn. They know a hit has been put out on her life and the reader is privy to a couple scenes from the crime family and the assassin.

The dilemma faced by Marcus is one of returning to the faith that was rejected after his mother died as a child. He had prayed for her to get well, and she didn't. He and Shari wrestle with the meaning of prayer, how prayer and a relationship with God affect events here on earth, especially with Jennifer in Boston going through chemotherapy and radiation, with family traveling to be with her when they can.

I liked this one because it seemed more organic and a reclamation of a relationship that had been rejected before instead of being dropped out of the blue.

Truth-Seeker: This third book of the O'Malley Chronicles follows Lisa, known as Lizzy to her family. The entire series is Christian romantic suspense, which means there isn't much of a slow-down until the danger is resolved.

Lisa is a criminal pathologist, working in Chicago for the municipality. She loves pets and has various types and enjoys them all. Her love interest is Quinn, Marcus' partner and Christian. He is also looking for answers regarding the death of his father and the disappearance of Amy Ireland, a teen in the area when she went missing; all which happened some years ago.

The book begins with Jack O'Malley taking Lisa to a burned out house, possible crime scene. When trying to solve whether it was a suicide or an accident, Lisa is injured on Quinn's watch. The other O'Malleys allow him to help her out more because they're matchmaking. He alerts her that a friend of his is looking into a case where the prisoner may be innocent, and asks for her help. Lisa is set on desk duty while the department goes through old case files. She finds what may be a serial killer and may tie Amy's disappearance, Rita's murder, and the other cases. They start investigating, and then Lisa finds a note (others find another one) about a particular case in the bunch. Lisa starts staying with Kate. One evening, Lisa goes home to take care of her animals, but doesn't come back to Kate's at the time mentioned in her note, so they fear that she has been kidnapped or killed. When they get to her house, it is engulfed in flames. Jack goes in - but Lisa is found outside after returning from a walk. She is devastated by the loss of her pets. The family agrees that Quinn should take her to his ranch. Eventually, the case is solved, but not without immediate heightened danger to Lisa's life and a twist that the reader may not see coming.

Jennifer and Tom get married and this book details that process as well.

Lisa's objections to Christianity are rooted in her past experiences with death. Her major objection is to the resurrection. Her family and Quinn work slowly because of the wall that Lisa had built up. This seemed really organic or realistic and it flowed.

I have read the entire series and could not wait for the next one to read! I have loaned all my books in this series out and rarely get them back, so I have to replace them because they are ones to re-read!

The series is based on 7 foster children who stayed together and protected each other through adulthood. Once they all reached adulthood, they legally changed their last names to O'Malley and chose to be siblings forever.

Each book covers one sibling and their career choice and their journey to becoming Christians. This is inspirational not just in faith, but in how each have built successful lives in their careers of choice and in their unusual family and in finding the right mate.

Jennifer is the only sibling not having her own book until just recently. I am excited to read Jennifer's story!

Completley captivating from the first to last page of every book. The first three O'Malley Chronicles are my faves - theyre a bit more high octane than the last three, but Volume 2 is a lot deeper as the situation with Jennifer worsens. The sense of humour is unique and adds feeling and a lighter side to the gritty crimes each of the O'Malleys deal with in each of their books. You are left with a new meaning of the word family and love.
Romance-wise, these are some of the most beautiful romance stories out there - Quinn and Lisa make me smile the entire way through Lisa's story.
Love love love love love it!

These 3 novels are the first works of Dee Henderson's I've read. It is Christian fiction with good character development. A 'potato chip book' with Christian character development. The characters are far from pristene, so the spiritual struggles are more true-to-life than some Christian fiction books.

I loved all these books. Dee Henderson has such a way with words and is a very talented author - one of my favourites. Love how this 'family' is not your normal family but one that 'became' from their own choosing and a matter of survival.

luv it ... thanks Dee ;0)

I read this whole series in high school and loved it - each book is an on-the-edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller. If you like Christian fiction I definitely recommend it!

This series has remained on my all-time favorite list for years. The characters become “friends” and you will hate to see it end. Their lives as orphans in the system is hard. They cling to each other and create a resilient family unit. You will want to join the family. Dee Henderson writes so well. Don’t miss this series.

I read the first two books in this volume for my book club. Some day, I might read the third book but I just couldn't do it now. I could not get in to these books. The writing is fine and the author is very knowledgable on many different subjects. And I liked the spiritual aspect and lack of vulgarity.

However, I found the story too slow for this genre. The characters never seemed real to me and the dialouge doesn't ring true. I had to force myself to continue.
