Amanda couldn’t wait to get up to the mountain. Fresh air with some peace and quiet were exactly what she needed in this vacation. But, she didn’t get the vacation she had hoped for. Going to that mountain was her first mistake. The second was trespassing on Jakob’s land.

Jakob lived on the mountain and didn’t care for visitors. Especially tourists. But, when he saw a pretty little black-haired beauty skinny dipping in the lake, things changed. He was a natural hunter, and he had just spotted his prey.

This book is subtitled as Book One under this collection. However, each book is standalone and not related to each other in their storylines. They are published under the ‘Possessive Collection’ title so that readers can quickly identify my books that share the genre of Dark/Taboo Romance.

This book is in the Dark/Taboo romance genre. It contains subject matter that some readers may find disturbing.
Due to the content, this book is intended for adults 18 years and older.

So, a little about me. I ‘am a sub and live the lifestyle when I can. When I am not writing books, driving Doms crazy, or watching Hockey games, I work in the security industry. I operate in places like Iraq and Afghanistan.

I love all animals. But, dogs and horses are at the top of my list. I ‘am the worst joke teller known to mankind. My blood type is “coffee”, my favorite color is blue, and I once choked on a marshmallow, but I still eat them because I’m a risk taker like that.

I currently write two types of genres. BDSM Themed and Dark Themed Erotic books. I encourage you to read ‘A Word from your Author’ at the front of my books. There is a vast difference between BDSM and Dark books. And it is important to me that people do not confuse the two.

I also write two different lengths of books. Novellas and Novels. I note the word count and type of book it is on each book specific page, so that you know what type you are purchasing. I always write multiple POV’s and chapters indicate a change in POV. Thus, my chapter lengths vary depending on what the character is doing. My books also tend to happen over a compressed timeline. Things happen quickly in my characters world. And I like to inject a bit of humor. Laughter good for the soul

I've read two stories from Tories Grace before but this series is quite different. It's a lot more of a dark romance and morally grey characters but still as fun to read even if it has some moments

This story checked all the boxes for what I was hoping it would be, so of course I loved it. It’s dark, but not too dark, and the H is everything I enjoy in a dominant and possessive, ruthless mountain man. I am definitely going to keep and eye out for more in this Possessive Collection by Torie Grace. I really like how she categorizes her different types of stories, and I know some of them will not be to my liking, but this one totally hit the spot. I recommend if you’re ok with dub-con/non-con, discipline, restraints, and breath play.

I loooved this story! I do not know how I didn't stumble across this author before, but I am GLAD I did!
I think this was a perfect introduction to the author. The story is short but excellent & IMO gives me a good feel for the author's writing, style, pacing, character development & I very much like how she does all of them.
Amanda (h) pretty, happy, but not very much into social media or people has decided to take a month long vacation on a mountain roughing it in a tent. She tells her bestie 'good-bye', packed her supplies, her camera & her enthusiasm & happily pitched camp at Caulder Lake. Of course the local shopkeeper warned herto steer clear of any trail or land marked 'PRIVATE' but she doesn't plan on trespassing. At least, intentionally.
Jakob (anti-H) huge, muscled, handsome, emotionally & tempermentally a ticking time bomb owns land just south of Caulder Lake. Jakob dislikes people & tourists intensely. He almost immediately realizes there is someone on his mountain & when he tracks them down it's in time to see the stunning Amanda skinny dipping in the lake.
Sheer iron will keeps him from allowing his baser instincts & desires to control his wanted actions & he leaves the tempting woman alone.
But later Jakob is forced into physical contact with Amanda & at that point he decides & knows, she is his & he'll NEVER let her go . . . .
For those readers who like/love dark romance with all that term may mean, IMO will like/love this story. The author switched POV each chapter between Jakob & Amanda givingthe reader peeks into their minds & thought processes for their decisions/actions. Make no mistake, Jakob KNOWS what he is doing WRONG but he doesn't CARE. The reader may be on the fence about whther to like him, he is a powder keg & some of his thoughts are potentially dangerous for Amanda, but there comes a point in their situation where (for me) there seems a spark of light is ignited in Jakob's icy cold heart & soul. But THAT may be more dangerous for Amanda than than ice . . . .
And Amanda is fighting her feelings about the situation, Jakob as well as the life she left behind . . . .
I think the author did a superb job in fleshing out her two main characters, I was immediately interested in the plot, Jakob, Amanda & just what path they were on & where they would end up. I cared about both of them (even Jakob!), felt their pain, fear, anger, confusion & desire. I found myself hoping against hope that they could possibly have a HEA together.
I found this to be an excellent & very well written story that I am delighted to have discovered & I highly recommend.
BE AWARE: There are possible triggers + this is a DARK romance as the book description warns.

Jacob, scary but sexy!

Enjoyed reading this. Would've liked more but liked what I read. Jacob was scary and had definitely been living in his own too long lol
