It's not every day you wake up to a stranger getting into your bed. Only, he isn't a stranger at all, he's my best friend's hot older brother…and apparently my new roommate. Having him in my space, driving me crazy, isn't a problem at all. Nope. All I need to do is keep control of the situation…
But that's easier said than done. Shawn Lassiter is the kind of distraction I don't need. First he accidentally gets into my bed, half-naked, the night before my first day at my new job. Hello, muscles and tattoos! Then he's there, in nothing but a towel, making me coffee in the morning. It's more than any girl can resist. Right? But Shawn is off-limits, even if his eyes are saying differently.
Years ago, back when I still had my crush, he destroyed friendships with his reckless playboy antics. There's no way I'm touching those perfectly formed abs now. I don't care how nice and responsible he's acting. I don't want a boyfriend anyway. That's what my trusty vibrator is for. I'm the smart girl—the glasses-wearing, book-reading workaholic. I can totally do this. After all, it's only for two and a half months. I'll be on my best behavior...even if Shawn isn't.

Rebecca Brooks lives in New York City in an apartment filled with books. She received a PhD in English but decided it was more fun to write books than write about them. She has backpacked alone through India and Brazil, traveled by cargo boat down the Amazon River, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, explored ice caves in Peru, trekked to the source of the Ganges, and sunbathed in Burma, but she always likes coming home to a cold beer and her hot husband in the Bronx.
Mmmm Shawn! Delicious ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don’t tell me you’ve never had a crush on your best friend's brother or your brother’s best friend. I know I did when I was a teenager and those hormones were flowing!
I don’t think it’s possible to even grow up without having a crush on a friend of someone in the family. Which is one of the reasons why I love reading books with this storyline to them.
This newest release by Rebecca Brooks captures that theme perfectly. Subletting an apartment to your brother is no big deal when your roomie supposedly hates him. The key word being supposedly!
I really fell for Shawn. He isn’t perfect by any means. In fact, he is just like any other Joe. But he is fun, sexy, and really took care of her.. in all manners. And she had to admit her secret crush for all those wasted years. They were perfect together.
But bad things happen... things fall apart and the author captures it perfectly. While you know what’s going to happen, she also manages to add in a lot of realistic situations and emotion that makes you appreciate her character development.
This story was a perfect balance of hotness and heartbreak to envelope you completely. And thankfully forgiveness and a beautiful HEA to make it all worthwhile.
I really couldn't get into the book. I was thrown off and a little disgusted with Shawn and he is mostly the reason I couldn't finish the book. Let's begin with this line from the blurb "Years ago, back when I still had my crush, he destroyed friendships with his reckless playboy antics." Do you wanna know what he did? He slept with 2 (yes, not 1 but 2) of his sister's friends. He took the virginity of the first one and in a week he slept with the second one. That is mentioned a few times, which was something we didn't need. Just say that he is a playboy. He will have basically have slept with all of his sister's best friends and it's not good. And in the present things are not much better. I was feeling that he didn't mature a bit since high school and this book is not only the beginning of his relationship with the heroine but also the beginning of his life as an adult who is trying to have a normal life. No one took him seriously and I couldn't root for him. I was also feeling like he wasn't serious about his "new life"
Falling for your best friend’s sibling is one of my favorite romance tropes, which is why I couldn’t resist picking up Wrong Bed, Right Roommate. Rebecca Brooks has kicked off her Accidental Love series with a sexy forbidden romance.
I have the greatest affection for tightly-wound heroines and Jessie definitely fits the bill. She’s driven, obsessively organized, and determined to be successful now that she’s got her chance to get her foot in the door of New York publishing. Jessie does need to learn to loosen up a bit, and that’s where Shawn comes in. Shawn is Jessie’s opposite in most ways and I admit I had a harder time connecting with him. He has been selfish in the past and has treated the women in his life as fairly disposable, but he recognizes his behavior and is determined to turn his life around which I did like. Shawn also has a tendency to be so laid-back that he can be fairly irresponsible, to the point where I had trouble believing the ending of this story. I don’t want to say too much and spoil the book, but while there was some genuine growth in Shawn’s character, at times his progress didn’t feel earned. Perhaps a bit more time spent with him might have made him feel a bit more believable by the end.
Lust and close quarters are the kick Jessie and Shawn need to “break the rules” and fall into bed. Their romance was solid and there was some nice emotional development, but it felt a bit flat to me. There wasn’t anything particularly new or fresh about the romance to make it stand out, nor were the dialogue or the chemistry between the leads exciting enough to make me simply sit back and enjoy watching beloved tropes play out. I’ve adored Ms. Brooks’s books in the past and I know she can pack and emotional punch, but Jessie and Shawn just fell a bit short of the mark. All the elements were there and the story was good, but I did finish Wrong Bed, Right Roommate feeling like I wanted a bit more.
FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
If I hadn’t agreed to read this book to write a review, I wouldn’t have finished it. I just didn’t like either of the main characters. Shawn is such a bro, but he’s trying to mature - it’s just taking him a long time. He has gone from being a star high school baseball player to just being a player who has slept around a whole lot, including with two of his sister’s friends, to realizing that he’s going nowhere fast. Now he’s in Brooklyn trying to make it in a career he rather fell into. He ends up rooming with his sister’s best friend. She’s a very uptight aspiring book editor. All she can think about is her job except when she’s falling into bed with Shawn.
They’re both irritating and immature and give New Adult romances a bad name.
So they go from talking about how they shouldn’t be sleeping together to having lots of sex while she feels guilty. It all blows up, of course, and we’re led to believe that both of them have totally messed up in their jobs over their inevitable break-up drama. Then, poof! [Spoiler Alert] Suddenly they’re together and both are super successful at their jobs. Just like that! I should have skipped all the in-between angst and sex and just skipped to the epilogue.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.
The first thing that made me add this book to my TBR was the blurb, the second was the teaser, which was really hilarious.
The book itself was very easy to read, the chemistry was there since the beginning but it wasn’t one of those insta-love romances. Of course, once they got together the usual drama began – ”We can’t be together, you’re my best friend’s brother” and ”She won’t approve of us”. Spoiler alert: She didn’t.
I kind of hated Talia (Shawn’s sister) because when she found out because she was just so selfish. We’re talking ”How could you do that to me” and ”I thought you knew better”, she made Jessie looked so guilty even though she didn’t do nothing wrong. At least at the end, she admitted her mistake so Shawn and Jessie could be together.
So I was actually reading this to get back into a ~romance groove~ (wow not a phrase I'm going to repeat), not expecting it to meet anything for bingo, but I'm actually going to take it for meddling matchmakers. After Talia's initial reaction to Jessie & Shawn, the effort that she goes to to help them fix it and be happy definitely counts.
Meh, I’ve read better, but also I have read worse, so this is in limbo.
Somewhere half-way through I started caring more about her job than her sex life, which is not the way the book wanted me to feel. I guess. I care about the book that much that I don’t even remember how I felt about the characters in the beginning, but I was getting pissed at Shawn for being so sex-obsessed that he wouldn’t let her do her job. Around 60% I was so sure he would distract her or something, and that would cost her her job.
Fun, Delightful, Sexy, and Spicy .... Wrong Bed, Right Roommate is a terrific, light romance featuring Jessie. It starts off with tension as Jessie is laying awake worrying about finances because she just found out that the sub- letter for their apartment fell through. While her roommate and best friend, Talia is out of town for the dream of the lifetime in her dance career, Jessie is at home trying to calm down and not worry about how they are going to make the bills.
Meanwhile, Talia is still trying to come up with a last minute roommate when she suddenly has the idea to ask her brother, Shawn. Shawn says yes because he is sick and tired of the nasty bachelor pad that he is sharing with way too many other guys. Talia is not worried that Jessie will accidentally fall for Shawn because she knows that Jessie is immune to his charms...
Only Jessie is far from immune and eventually confesses her secret crush on Shawn from so many years ago when Shawn slept with two of Talia's closest friends only to dump them. Shawn is not necessarily a bad boy, but he has definitely lacked in ambition and goal setting. What would straight laced, organized, and career driven Jessie ever see in a hopeless drifter like Shawn? (Other than his hot body!)
I knew this book would get spicy quick because Jessie decided to relive some tension from all that worrying that night all on her own. (Guess what.... I was right!!) In addition to the sizzling intimacy scenes, author Rebecca Brooks manages to infuse her writing with just the write notes of humor and honesty. I love the interaction between Jessie and Shawn and how they influence each other in such positive ways. Just as I knew it would happen, bestie Talia shows up unannounced and throws a mad hissy fit in disapproval and betrayal when she learns that Jessie and Shawn have been sleeping together.
Will they find their way to their true feelings for each other and how could they consider having feelings knowing that they would hurt Talia so deeply? The adventures are fun and lively, the feelings seem genuine, and author Rebecca Brooks is definitely on my favorite authors list.
Thank you to NetGalley, Rebecca Brooks, and Entangled Publishing for the chance to read this ARC of Wrong Bed, Right Roommate. I so enjoyed it and all opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Thank Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Shawn and Jessie's story start out with your typical misunderstanding. He was to be her new roommate and she didn't know. He shows up not knowing she was in bed and the rest is history. Their attraction to each other is pretty instant and their chemistry plausible. There really wasn't much to the novel that wowed but it was good enough to keep me flipping pages.
A perfectly fine roommates-to-lovers romance that needed a better developmental edit. A lot of things didn’t add up or were never fleshed out properly. Admittedly, some of the inconsistencies are particular to me. Jessie refers to herself first as an editorial assistant and then an assistant editor. Those are two different roles! She has no publishing experience; there’s no way she’d be hired as an assistant editor, much less have a boss give her huge opportunities within the first couple of weeks. Similarly, Shawn is described as both a brewery assistant and an assistant brewer, which are also different jobs. If he was the latter, his choice to The grand gesture was a fail— Shawn and Jessie were believable as a summer fling but not more than that given how much growing up Shawn still needed to do.
Characters: Shawn is a white brewery assistant. Jessie is a white editorial assistant. This is set in NYC.
Content notes: knee injury (secondary character), FMC’s mom had breast cancer (ostensibly in remission now), on page sex, workplace stairwell sex, masturbation, sex toy, alcohol, inebriation, hangover, gendered pejoratives, gender essentialist language, ableist language

She is back! We have a new series, or hopefully a new series with this wonderful book. We meet Jessie who is a perfectionist but not very secure in herself. Her best friend Talia has gone away to London and the person who was supposed to sublease her apartment along with Jessie backed out, and now Jessie is stressing since she can't afford the apartment by herself. Talia's brother ends up taking the sublease without Jessie's knowledge and he gives her the surprise of her life. Jessie does not like Shawn based on her experience with him, or knowledge of him when they were in high school. Shawn could not believe that this was the Jessie he remembered because she was beautiful but he knew that he could not go there since he promised his sister he would not mess with any of her friends he has messed up enough in that avenue. Jessie and Shawn can not keep their hands off each other but they both knew that was not very smart, but they couldn't help it and fell in love until it all blew up in their faces. Now what? Do they lose Talia or do they lose what they have? Well grab a copy and find out, you will Enjoy it!

When I came across this book, I had to read it because it has my favourite trope - girl falling for the best friend's brother. Who doesn't like that? I adore that theme and love reading the various paths the story takes at times.
Jessie has had a crush on Shawn during her teens and so now when she is forced to co-habit with him for a few days, she ends up falling for him harder. So does Shawn also fall for her or does he allow his playboy act to crush her heart? That forms the entirety of the story. The plot is pretty simple but the course the story had taken, put me through the wringer - overwhelming happiness and depressing sadness - echoing the protagonists' emotions closely.
Jessie and Shawn are the quintessential opposites-attract couple. While Jessie is a serious and driven person, Shawn is a casual and go-with-the-flow character. They balance each other out and hence form a great couple! I rooted for Shawn more than Jessie because he needed it more and he is pretty sensitive though he doesn't show it on the surface. Yes, he is hot and a stud, but I like his vulnerability more which adds to the believable aspect of his character. Jessie is a great friend, at times insecure, but she disappointed me with her actions in the crucial scene. You can definitely tell who is my favourite in this couple!
I started reading this book after a sweet romance so it felt kind of overdone with the heat factor. But if you love hot romance, this is definitely for you. I like a bit of sensitivity and so I was left dissatisfied with the plot at the start. While I enjoyed Shawn showing Jessie a good time, at times, it felt that they were too immersed in the sensuality. Only towards the end, the emotions and feelings came into play and turned around the story. I literally "awww"-ed when they got together finally. Though they are hot in their romance, they are pretty sweet as a couple.
The author's writing is pretty intuitive and easy to follow which makes for a fast read. So I literally cruised through the book which ended up on a pretty high note. All in all, it was a fun and sexy romance!
I received an ARC from Entangled through Netgalley which doesn't impact my review in any way.
This book was just what I needed. Yes Shawn had similar issues to Frankie in Muffintop that I said weren't easy to believe, but it came across differently with Shawn. It wasn't this sudden realization that nobody saw him as the happily ever after guy while everything else in his life was peachy. Shawn's afraid he'll never succeed at anything so he's afraid to try, not just at relationships but jobs and just life in general. He knows how everyone else sees him and has known for years so he hides the fact he's craving more because he's afraid to hope he can be more than the mold that everyone has shoved him in. Its believable because it isn't a small trivial thing, it's a major fear and character flaw. His growth isn't immediate, it's gradual and hard earned and that's why its realistic and believable and while it's similar its definitely not the same.
Jessie doesn't even realize how broken she is until Shawn brings color into her life and it's kind of a delight to see her start to live even as she provides that steady interested presence Shawn needs in his life.
I didn't however care for Talia who is the connection between these characters and I didn't like how we didn't get to witness the characters fixing the fuckup their personal lives made of their professional ones. Those are pretty much the only reasons I didn't give this book a five stars because I truly enjoyed it.
I love a great big romance. I love the exaggeration and I love feeling so lost in love that nothing else matters. But I'm also an adult (kinda) who understands that there are a lot of responsibilities that you just can't shirk on. I like that it got fixed in the epilogue but the whole sadness-after-the-fight period where neither one worked and he literally ignored messages from his boss,,,,,yikes. I can't. I cannottttt. I can't.
I like the story, it was cute but nothing to write home about. It was lighthearted and fun but idk, very uninspiring.
This book was just okay for me. I liked the plot and how they came together, but their relationship seemed largely based on a physical connection. I loved the trip they took sightseeing in NYC. I think if more time was spent on moments like this (instead of ones in the bedroom) I would have felt more of an emotional connection between the characters.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. When I read the title, "Wrong Bed, Right Roommate", I thought imagine all that could go wrong. Ms. Brooks took me on a rollercoaster ride and I loved every minute of it. Shawn is trying to prove to himself and everyone that knows him that he is no longer the teenage high school screw up. Jessie is trying to show that she deserves the job she landed and that she is no longer just a nerdy wallflower. I loved the sparks that flew between the two of them. I cheered, booed, laughed, felt sorry for, and rejoiced thru the entire book. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of Ms. Brooks books.
I really like the premise of this book. Not so much the falling into the wrong bed, though that does happen, but the idea that Jessie is the girl no one noticed growing up and Shawn is the one that everyone fell over in high school. They don't seem like a good fit. And now Jessie is living her dream job and Shawn is trying to change how everyone sees him as a failure. Can they possible be right for each other? His sister doesn't think so.
But somehow the story ended up not quite working. Don't get me wrong, I read it fast and I was cheering for both of them. I didn't like Shawn's sister. I did like the other besties. I enjoyed how Shawn fell so hard for Jessie. I loved how Jessie was totally taken by Shawn. But the problem I had was that it felt...rushed or forced or just missing something. And it really felt like an adult book about high school characters. Especially the scene were his sister returns.
It's a short novel, a mere 200 pages. There were some parts that were summarized that might have been better if we had some more details. I would have loved to have a couple of scenes that just weren't there.
There is character growth in this story. Shawn is trying to change his representation, trying to be a better person. Jessie has her life controlled down to the minute. She doesn't see the need to make a change. But together they find some middle ground. I did like that.
I will also say that this book has a lot of hot. Maybe more than the 200 pages needed. Maybe there needed to be more description of other things. But if you enjoy that part of the romance book, then this one has more than it's fair share.
I guess I wanted to like this one more than I did. I liked parts of it. I liked Shawn. I felt for him. I liked Jessie. I just wanted something more. They are new adults but really they still acted like young adults.
It's definitely a quick read. And if you like the sexy hot type, then this is a good choice.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story between Jessie and Shawn. Jessie was best friends with Shawn's sister Talia and they rented an apartment together in New York. Talia was a dancer and was going to be away in London for the summer, so they decided to sublet her bedroom, only the woman who was supposed to rent it cancelled. Talia arranged for her brother Shawn to rent the room, only Jessie didn't get the message. Shawn showed up at the apartment after Jessie was in bed and accidentally went to her room. Jessie was not happy to see Shawn there. When they were in high school, Shawn was a jerk and slept with two of Talia's friends and it ruined their friendship. Jessie would never admit to anyone she had a crush on Shawn, but she was the quiet girl with braces no one noticed. Shawn was shocked to see Jessie and how much she changed. They agreed to be civil to one another while he lived there for the simmer. Soon they fell into a routine and became friends. When Shawn asked if Jessie wanted to go see where he worked, she agreed and they went out with his co-workers for drinks. They had too much to drink and one thing led to another when they came home. They vowed it would never happen again, but they couldn't stop. Things were going well until Talia said she was coming home early. I really enjoyed this book. I loved seeing Shawn and Jessie fall in love. They were good for each other and had a great connection. Shawn needed someone to give him a reason to grow up and have someone believe he wasn't a screw up. Jessie needed someone to remind her to have fun and not worry so much about work. Great story.
Incredibly sexy, featuring one of my favorite tropes, BF's older brother! I adored Shawn and Jessie, so much. Every moment they spent together was electric, and I couldn't get enough. So good. Highly recommended.
5/5 stars for Wrong Bed, Right Roommate, a contemporary romance novel from Rebecca Brooks.
The title it catchy and doesn't leave the reader lingering on as to what the story will be about. Once accident in which Shawn goes into Jessie's bed, thinking it's his sister's room he'll be renting out is only the beginning of this adventure for Jessie and Shawn. The cover that goes along with this book clearly gives away what we'll be reading. It's the fun of finding out if Shawn and Jessie will last that keeps one reading the book.
The plot wasn't too original. We've all heard of the classic story where best friends falls in love with best friend's brother. Nothing new. Brooks, however, adds her own spin to it by creating Jessie as the kind of character who doesn't know if she should continue being with Shawn and risking her friendship with her best friend. While Jessie immediately jumped into sleeping with Shawn, Brooks constantly shows us the inner turmoil in Jessie's brain if she should continue or put an end to it. There wasn't much to the dialogue other than Jessie constantly disagreeing with Shawn which at times got annoying, but it fit with her character. This is why I really couldn't stand her character, because she was annoying. Maybe that's how Brooks wanted her portrayed. Everything in the story flowed rather smoothly and I couldn't put the book down.
If I had to choose, I think Shawn was my favorite character. He seemed to be the most developed, especially when Brooks gave us his backstory. He was the one who changed the most and wanted nothing more than to have people see that change.
I would recommend this book for all the romance lovers out there. This book had everything, from love to hurt. Also, being a native New Yorker who lives in Manhattan, I loved reading about all the places in lower Manhattan that I usually hang out in. It made it easier for me to picture exactly where the characters were located.
Best friend/sibling is one of my favorite tropes. Rebecca Brooks and Wrong Bed, Right Roommate did not disappoint.
I love the premise of this story... It’s the middle of the night. Shawn Lassiter has just worked out a deal to sublease his sister's room while she's chasing her dreams in Europe. He arrives and assumes the slightly opened bedroom door is his room for the next two months. He gets undressed, gets in bed and is startled by the scream of Jessie Santana, his sister Talia’s best friend since childhood. Perfect. Set up. Shawn has walked into the wrong bedroom, but the right woman to help him become the man he wants to be.
From the beginning, Wrong Bed, Right Roommate had my attention. Jessie and Shawn were so easy to relate to, become invested in, and love. I wanted them to be together from the very beginning. Both are finally on a path toward their dream jobs. Jessie is an editorial assistant for a big publisher. Shawn is an assistant at an up and coming brewery, and out to prove that he can do the job and deserves it.
Jessie and Shawn both know they should stay away from each other. They don't have a romantic past with each other. But they both know the damage Shawn caused in high school, when he slept with two of Talia and Jessie’s friends. But a growing friendly roommate relationship quickly becomes more. Shawn and Jessie know they have to keep their summer fling from Talia a secret, and know this puts an expiration date on their relationship. The question becomes what are Jessie and Shawn willing to risk for a once-in-a-lifetime chance at love.
I loved everything about Wrong Bed, Right Roommate. As I said, Shawn and Jessie were great characters. In the end, Talia was very surprising. I was also surprised to find parts of the story to be heartbreaking. Shawn and Jessie have layers that I'm not sure they even know they have. They compliment each other in every way. I love that this was a romance, but that the story also focused on the friendship between Jessie and Talia. I can't wait to see what else Rebecca has in store for her Accidental Love series.
**Received a copy of the book from the publisher and voluntarily reviewed.**
This book was super fun! After reading a heavy emotional book, I needed a fun palate cleanser, and this was perfect. I'd been looking forward to the book anyway, but the timing ended up being just right. Shawn was a bit of an idiot, but I feel like he shaped up by the end. I was worried when Julia mentioned she was working in publishing, but the author kept it vague enough that it wouldn't be obvious exactly what she was doing. This book has a heavy dose of romance with enough plot and side characters sprinkled in to make a fun book with companion novel possibility.
I loved this story. This is a best friends brothers romance. But it's so much more. It's the story of woman learning to have fun in life and take a chance. It's the story of man who has lived a selfish life who decides to make a change. Jessie has always known Shawn as her best friends older brother. She had a crush on him until he slept with two of their friends in high school and broke up friendships. Jessie's best friend is out of town for a few months and the person that is supposed to rent her room bails out. In moves in Shawn for a few months. From their first encounter this story is full of moments that had me laughing out loud, swooning, wanting to pull my hair out in frustration and not being able to put the book down. When they finally let go of everything they are afraid of and try to be happy they hit an obstacle. Misunderstanding happen and both them have to learn what each other really meant to them. I just loved this story because of this push and pull relationship. I was rooting for their happiness. This is a must read for romance fans. Talk about steamy! It's also a story that will make your heart melt. I hope we hear more from these characters in the future.
This book was a delight. Writing this review has taken me a while only because I've been sitting here wondering how to describe something that hit all of my happy buttons... I've decided that the best way to tell you about it is just to tell you about the buttons. Here goes!
Button #1: Neighbors/Roommates I adore this trope. It's forced proximity, which means that the two protagonists must deal with each other. AND it means that if they want to bang, they're frequently tempted. Author Rebecca Brooks takes it even further by adding in some of those early morning "let's make breakfast together" moments. The result is both filthy and sweet.
Button #2: Enemies to Lovers/Best Friend's Brother Now that I'm listing them out, this book is just hella tropey?! The hero is taking over a sublet for his sister, who is the heroine's best friend for decades. This means that there's plenty of history, and in this case? It's not great. When Jessie was a shy teenager, her friends had crushes on Shawn, Talia's older brother. Unfortunately... Shawn slept with one of those friends. Then dumped her. And slept with the other one. Talia and Jessie remained friends, but there's always been a very clear line - DO NOT SLEEP WITH SHAWN.
Button #3: A Hot Mess Trying to Turn His Life Around But now, Shawn is a grownup. He's been disappointing employers and partners, himself and his family for years. And now he's ready to make a change. He has a real job, with real responsibilities and a future. He might even be able to have a real relationship with Jessie, assuming Talia doesn't find out...
Button #4: Mature Adults Talk About Things Thank goodness the bleak moment only lasts a chapter or two. Because we knew Talia was going to find out, right? And we knew she was going to be angry and everything would blow up. But we didn't know that Talia would *spoiler* and then everything would work out. (It's a romance, we knew about the HEA.)
Button #5: Scorching Sexytimes All this angst and drama is glued together by some really well-written sex. There's a scene with a toy and it's *flames emoji.* There's a scene in a stairwell that is get-fired-and-not-care hot.
Here's how much I loved this book - I finished it at around 1:00 am and then went to the internet to find and buy Brooks' previous books.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for review via NetGalley.
This was such a funny romantic book. Jessie is living in New York and sharing an apartment with her best friend Talia. Talia goes away for the summer and subleases her part of the apartment but the person backs out. Talia’s brother Shawn steps up and says he will lease it from her for the summer. The only problem is that Jessie has a crush on Shawn. I have to say the first time that Jessie finds out about Shawn taking over the lease is rather funny. I do have to say that even though in the beginning of the book there was definitely chemistry between these two I honestly do not think there was a lot of anything else. As I read the book it made me laugh and I have to say I really enjoyed watching Jessie and Shawn change and watch how their relationship developed.. They both started to grow up and become adults. When Talia comes back and learns about what is going on she is not happy at all. That changes everything. Pick up this great read and find out all about Jessie, Shawn and Talia. I hope that Talia gets her own book because I am hoping she gets some of what she dished out back!! Thanks Net Galley. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
