It was only a matter of time before my twin sister brought chaos into my quiet life. Mel’s messed with the wrong people. Now she’s in danger and needs my help. She’s the only family I have left and she knows I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she stays safe. Unfortunately helping her means pretending to be her. And my sister just happens to be under contractual obligation to Griffin Mandeville. He’s one of Boston’s wealthiest bachelors and owner of The Patrician, an exclusive members-only gambling club. Griffin needs a wife—rich people and their ridiculous inheritance problems—and Mel was supposed to take those vows. Instead he’s got me.
So now not only am I deceiving everyone in his social circle into believing he and I are falling in love, I’m also deceiving him. He thinks he’s hired an experienced, mercenary woman who understands our arrangement is purely business. Except, I’m not my sister. I’m not at all what he expected and suddenly we’re both finding it hard to separate business from pleasure.
Griffin’s everything I shouldn’t want — selfish, brooding, arrogant and high-handed. Yet he’s also complex, intelligent, and the sexiest man I’ve ever met. He’s awoken desires I never knew existed within me. I’m drowning. I’m drowning in the lies. The lies I’m telling the world. The lies I’m telling Griffin. And the lies I’m telling myself. We’re deceiving ourselves if we think we can pretend we can control this passion for each other. A passion that will turn to dust if Griffin ever learns who I truly am.
I write sizzling romance about strong heroines and brooding heroes. I like my protagonists flawed but loveable, my romance angsty and hot, and my plotlines just that little bit fantastical. My debut romance trilogy The Deception Trilogy is now available on Kindle.
I enjoyed this enough to read the next book. Marriage of convenience. Twin swap. Grumpy hero. Some underlying suspense. There is a ton of tension. It’s pretty slow burn, but there are some hot moments. The POV voice sounds a little fancy pants for some reason, but none the less I enjoyed this read.
This theme is one of my favourites, and in Deception, two sisters are trading places. Very well written, with awesome characters, and a plot full of agitation, anguish and deception! I really couldn’t put it down!!! Great read❣️

WHY IS THERE ONLY TWO REVIEWS FOR THIS BOOK?!?! I picked this one up on a whim! Was casually scrolling Facebook and saw the ad. And it just so happened I needed a new book to read.
It's so good. Ahhhhhh. The secrets. The slow buildup. A fiery heroine that doesn't take any shit. This book had me screaming for the truth to come out, yet loving the betrayal so much more.
I'm loving the start to this series, and hopefully the next book is out or close to being out. Actually, I need to go stalk the author and see why I haven't read her yet, and find out all the details. This one is a page turner! The tension and uncertainty surrounding characters was phenomenal.
I can’t even give this book 3 stars. Not for me. MCs have personalities of cardboard boxes. Unoriginal plot. No chemistry between the characters. 1/3 of the book is description of clothing the heroine is wearing and how amazing her Jessica Rabbit body is. She blushes, of course, and is a red head:🙄🙄🙄. She is the “good twin” I wished she was the “bad twin” bc then at least she might be worth reading about. And to top all this off the stupid book ends with a bad bad cliffy. I could care less. Not wasting time on book 2. This book has 4.3 rating? Really?? I am offended on behalf of soo many authors right now.
This book was a whirlwind of a rollercoaster. It's a fast-paced marriage convenient book but unique in its own way with twist.
Scarlett is a total opposite of her evil twin sister. She is well-educated, has a solid career, lives in a nice neighborhood. While her twin sister Melanie is a high-end escort. Melanie gotten into a huge problem and Scarlett had to step up to protect her sister to become a fake escort and to a fake marriage. Meanwhile, she'll have to deceive her fake husband.
Griffin Mandeville, an aristocrat and eligible bachelor of Boston society, hired an escort to pretend to be his wife. The more he got to know his fake girlfriend/fiancée, the more he becomes intrigued. But he never pays for sex. Scarlett pretending to be Melanie find herself attracted to Griffin. The more they fight their attraction, the more frustrated they become. Griffin wants her, but he would rather not want her. Because she is an escort, he wouldn't know whether she wants him because he paid her, or she really wants him. So, he hurts her with his word to keep distance.
Scarlett is intelligent, smart, funny, classy, loving, sacrificing, down to earth, and a strong-minded woman. She intrigues me with her classiness and how comfortable she is with her body. She is a true lady. I instantly liked her. She doesn't let anyone walk all over her, not even Griffin. She is quite, but stubborn and has a spine of steel.
Griffin is private about his personal life. But he wants his inheritance, so who is better than an escort to pretend to be his wife. He is brooding, rich, arrogant, handsome, cruel. He hurts me with his cruel word to Scarlett. I wish it was a dual POV. This way I could have known his thoughts.
It ends in a cliffhanger. I love this book and would read the next book immediately.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves marriage convenient books with a strong heroine.
WOW! I have to say I am so damn blown away. I picked this book because I wanted something "fast" and "mindless" to read even if I would be left with a cliffhanger, but when I started this book I got SO MUCH MORE! This book is so underrated and possibly over looked due to the lack of rates or reviews. The book is so well put together, great character development, well written, and even does my favorite thing.. stretch out the time line within eleven chapters without blatantly saying '2 days later' or '3 weeks later'.
I've seen so many books about someone falling/getting into relationships with twins, but I have yet to pick one up where they switch places until this book. Scarlett is a sweetheart and Melanie is walking trouble and chaos. Her nice quiet life is shaken up by her sister and is forced to do something she would never in a million years think of. Griffin is sexy, complex, selfish, and arrogant, but yet I think they are perfect together when they aren't lying or being guarded.
I am so excited to continue on to book two of the trilogy
I tried to binge the series, but unfortunately life got in the way and made me take my sweet sweet time between a couple chapters (Avengers Endgame, MLB FoodFest, moving, 4 year old, and husband.. ugh). I was so annoyed that I couln't just read. At the end of everything I NEEDED a really good book to decompress and this did it for me.
Damn it took me a week of contemplating to read it. Glad I finally did. This story reminds me of Jana Ashtons book where also twin switching happened but it was at the same time very different.
So the bad and the good twin switches places, good one to save her sisters life to play lovely dovely fiancee to a guy who needs his inheritance. So it all spirals out of control - deception and lies.
Story was good and Griff oh my god he is awesome!
My only meh about this book is that it sounds a little off contemporary from the words. Totally get the Griffins British but Scar to speak like shes from the historic novels is a bit weird because she's American and they do not use those mega fancy words even if you have a degree in English lit. So that bugged me. I understand author I guess wanted to create this theme and a bridge between those two worlds but I just could not get passed some words and the way she talked.

I'm not very good at reviews so all I can say is I loved this book! It was entertaining, sweet, funny, hot AF!
I loved the h! So so much, she's so strong and has so much personality. I wanted a bit more from the H but I guess I understand why we didn't get it in this book. Anyway, he was great as well. And the attraction OH.MY.GOD! the attraction betwen them was everything!
Finally a h that doesn't take shit from the H or any other man. The h is a strong woman and can be vulnerable and loving. She doesn't play the part of the victim, witch is a nice change from recent books of the genre. The steamy parts don't overwhelm the book. The author even manage to bring some emotion in a part of the book. Overall, is a good book, not deep, but a nice read to pass time.
Really like the premise. Nothing too ott has happened to cause drama. The angst of the lie is enough and I’m glad the author isn’t trying to throw constant twists at me. 😅
