3.5 stars for this sweet, clean romance. This is the story of Jason, a building contractor and major player, and Emily, a young woman focused on helping the homeless in the Atlantic City area. It is a sweet, clean romance based on the shared grief of two strangers. Both of these characters try to work through their grief by losing themselves in work. Both Emily and Jason have issues but struggle valiantly to overcome the loss of loved ones. While not exactly love at first sight, the connection they feel upon their second meeting is strong. SPOILER ALERT! While the author delivers a HEA ending, I was somewhat disappointed in the characters hurry to tie the knot. I don't think my parents would have been happy at being invited but then left out. Also, I wasn't sold on Chloe's overnight change. Even with these issues, this is an entertaining read with strong characters.

After Hurricane Nina (Hot Hunks-Steamy Romance Collection Book 3)- a review by Rosemary Kenny
*slight spoilers* I enjoyed all the stories in this collection, that are connected by the natural disaster, Hurricane Nina after it struck the Indonesian island of Bali, in the Indian Ocean and the effect it had not only on the island itself, but also the residents and tourists of this popular holiday destination. Each story has its own theme and characters, of which my favourite is by the lovely Suzanne Jenkins. Jason's Resolution tells the second chance love story of Jason, a rich casino operator and building contractor who is traumatised by the loss of his beloved parents in the Hurricane. Travelling to Bali on a long-haul flight, he meets Emily who has lost her twin sister in the same disaster. The two connect over their similar ordeal of having to identify their loved one's remains, half the world away. On his return to Atlantic City, the trauma of having to inter both his parents at the same time has affected Jason more than he realises, making him a shell of the man he used to be. Meanwhile Emily has also returned home and resumed her campaign mission - to get local, (also in Atlantic City by coincidence) casinos to operate under much stricter rules. When the unlikely couple meet the second time around, Jason is touched by Emily's heartfelt pleas and comes to appreciate the concerns she has, for those whose lives have become centred around the lure of the brightly-lit casinos, with their dark, timeless interiors, where they don't have to think about how their losses are likely to end, by making their loved ones go hungry or homeless. Shedding his selfishness Jason makes a resolution to turn his and the homeless of Atlantic City's lives around. He and Emily work together to set up a new foundation, that they will manage together as equal partners. Can they get their long-delayed HEA - what do you think?
Read all the novels in the Hot Hunks Steamy Romance Collection Book 3, that includes this fantastic, sensitively-written love story of overcoming the odds and romantic suspense, which Suzanne Jenkins so excels in. Get your copy of After Hurricane Nina, Jason's Resolution today!
This story starts with Jason and Emily meeting on the plane to Bali after Hurricane Nina. He's headed to the island to identify the bodies of his parents, she to identify her twin sister. Two years later, they meet again after their lives have journeyed in opposite directions but ended in the same location: Atlantic City. Jason is a builder and casino operator, Emily an advocate for the homeless who protests against the casinos for ignoring their responsibilities to the community.
From the outside looking in, it would appear Jason is the more successful of the pair, but he's a bit of an emotional wreck, drifting through life, and becomes more unhinged as the story progresses. When he meets Emily again, sparks fly and Jason starts to realize he wants to do more with his life.
While I enjoyed this story and the emotional journey, I felt Jason's character got away with a bit too much in this "Me Too" era, that the other women in the story besides Emily should have been stronger. I also think the author would have benefited from a firmer hand from her editor, as the story drifted in places almost as aimlessly as Jason's character. I look forward to reading more from this author!
Jason first meets Emily at the airport on the way to Bali to claim his parents bodies after the hurricane hit. She's going there for her sister and new brother-in-law's remains. They don't see each other again for two years. During that time Jason went from one sexual encounter to the next using women and the last is Chloe who he's also in business with at the casino hotel he and his family own. Emily is picketing in front of the hotel for the homeless population in the area. I don't understand why Emily thought Jason was wonderful other than the fact that he's physically good looking. She seems like a nice girl who cares about others. While he's selfish only cares about having a good time and sex. I'm surprised he wasn't slapped with a sexual harassment suit sooner than the one Chloe gave him after he broke up with her. This book was bit all over the place with Jason looking like a homeless person at the end while he works on his new mission to convert a run down hotel into new housing for the homeless and Emily's best friend Jeremiah engaged to Jason's ex Chloe.
Wow! This book is a real page Turner that took me on an emotional journey. Jason is you typical rich playboy who sufferers a tragegy and it takes meeting Emily who is also recovering from a tragedy to make him question everything in his life. The exceptional quality of the writing is evident in the way the storyline captured my attention with the different issues highlighted in the book. This book is a great must read book that deserves it place on my list of books that get my recommendation.

This is the third book in the Hot Hunks-Steamy Romance Collection. The series features eight different men whose lives were due for a change. This is Jason's story. An emotional story with Jason and Emily whose lives were changed by the hurricane in Bali. They lost special friends and helped each other mourn and rebuild their lives. A tender love story about their journey after buying an old hotel and turning it into a homeless shelter. I read a reader copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review.
Jason and Emily first meet randomly on their separate ways to identify loved ones who have died in a hurricane. They meet again a couple years later and are attracted to one another. Jason is a wealthy playboy whose philandering lands him in hot water with his family and his business. Emily is an advocate for the homeless. The story is good but my main problem with it is the abruptness. First Jason can't keep his pants zipped and then he's practically a monk. First he can't keep his hands off Emily and then he's fine with just a business relationship. Just okay.
Jason and Emily's lives are changed after a hurricane in Bali. They lean on each other as they each mourn their loss and rebuild their lives. This is a tender love story around Jason and Emily as they find each other and build more than just a life together but a place for others who are less fortunate. I enjoyed the journey this book took me on and since I haven't read the first 3 will be looking to read them.
He had to identify his parents after the hurricane. She had to identify her twin. They met at the airport, years later they meet again. He is a very successful Casino owner and builder, but lives a shallow unfulfilling life. She has little but is fulfilling her dream of giving the homeless a place to live one house at a time. Can they help each other? Join them on their journey. You will be glad you did.

Healing Power of Love! Heartwarming story of Jason and Emily finding each other after tragically losing family in Bali during Hurricane Nina. The loss of loved ones affects everyone differently and it’s presented beautifully in this heartfelt story of love and healing. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. Enjoy!
I received an arc copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
This book is so much more that what I was expecting. It is a story of grief and the different ways the characters dealt with their loss, and redemption. It is well written, emotionally deep, very interesting, relatable, and will hold your attention until the end. A really amazing read and comes highly recommended.

I just loved this sexy read from this author. Jason and Emily are both affected by losing a loved one in the hurricane and chose very different ways to cope with it. Two years on, Jason's behavior goes too far and he has a rude awakening. Turning over a new leaf, he is adamant he will not make the same mistakes again. A roller coaster ride of emotions keeps you turning the pages. This series is like eating chips- you can't just have one, you need to devour them all!
Jason is a fool when it comes to his personal life and I guess he goes where the wind blows. The death of his parents planted the seed of doubt in his way of life and that seed sprouted and started to grow and, with the help of Emily with whom he has the same sorrows, that seed grew and grew until he became a changed man.

After the hurricane, Jason acts out. Losing his parents affects him, but he covers by working his way through multiple hookups with women. Using his job as a hunting ground, he makes mistake after mistake. When finally brought down by his bad habits with women, he finds his resolution and his redemption with giving to someone else. Emily, the beautiful but self-effacing woman he met on the way to Bali, shows him the way.
This is the first book I read of this series as well as by the author.
With all the goings on in terms of climate change over the last few years was what made me decide to read this book. I cannot start to imagine what anyone goes through having to find and identify a family member. The author handles this with sensitivity.
I will be reading more of her books and more of this series.

With a hurricane killing part of his and her family then having to move things get touchy in their lives. They meet briefly in the airport on their way out. They are still trying to get their lives together and meet again. It is dramatic, sweet, very emotional, exciting and so much more. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
I went to read this, it started so very sad and almost depressing, the more I read the sweeter it got, I really enjoyed where these characters went and how they got there.
A sweet clean story with two strong characters another one of Suzanne Jenkins excellent stories. I have never been disappointed in one of her books and neither will you this is another don't miss opportunity.
