'Blood Bath at TV Studios - Film Star Decapitated.' Thus the evening newspapers describe a murder in which private eye Adam Flute has become hopelessly entangled. Originally hired by a worried wife to watch her husband, Flute only just manages to convince the police that he has nothing to do with the corpse he meets face to face. Two nymphettes, a middle-aged actress, an eccentric producer and two film stars make his enquiries exciting and glamorous - and fraught with danger.
