Nix Whittaker is a high school teacher in a small rural town tucked away in the middle of the North Island of New Zealand. She immigrated to New Zealand when she was a young girl from South Africa and had completely embraced the New Zealand life.
She has been writing from a young age when she read all the books available for people her age and was forced to write her own just to feed her voracious appetite for Literature.
She studied at Auckland University, but opted for a quiet life in the rolling countryside and views of Tongariro National Park. She lives with her dog and her three cats and writes between planning lessons and socialising with friends.

I’m not going to rate this anthology, even if I think it is very good, simply because I own one of the story in it, and might therefore not be completely impartial.

The story I own in this is called “The Ballad of the Fire Spewing Dragon”, and is a humorous fantasy story. I take the idea of that mythical creature that can sometimes be found in fantasy stories, and twist it a little. The dragon is the main character, and he can really spew fire, but it is presented more from comic side then anything else. I can’t really go that far into this without going to far, and so I’ll leave it at that.

For me as a writer this was a important book, because this is the first time a story of mine is reprinted. This story had previously been published in the anthology called Ellipsis…, another book that I’m quite happy with having done, but it was the only fantasy story there, so it fits in some sense better here alongside other comic fantasy stories. Anyway, if you read it I hope you like it.
