This was a free book through Bookfunnel. The story was really short. It had potential if the author had tried. The debate whether the town's Halloween serial killer was actually dead or not, could have been fleshed out more, to give this story depth. Without it, it's just a Halloween party, where two complete stranger's device to bump uglies.

I got the chance to read this book for free, I had not read this author before so I thought this would be a good opportunity.
I was not so sure about the Ouija scene. Maggie was new to the area, she didn't know the story of the murderer so pranking her that she is the next victim was a little bit harsh especially since it was a murderer that affected the town, to me that would not be something to joke about. However, it was Halloween party and added depth to the story as it introduced Bone Heart which was interesting.
It was a fun read and quick. It could have been 5* if it was a little big longer and Griffin was in it more. Griffin literally turns up at the end, the romance could have built up a bit more but I did like their interaction being "outsiders".
I would have liked the Bone Heart storyline fleshed out more as I was intrigued.
It did make me laugh in places as well. Overall a quick and easy read, I would definitely read more from this author.

This short story really delivers the Halloween spirit and content! I loved the writing style, it's easy and fast but very realistic and relatable, everything was so vivid! Really interested in reading more of Wilde's books!

This is a contemporary romance,I was expecting it to be paranormal but the Halloween vibes made it feel more that way. Our heroine finds a normal guy who's okay with playing monster,the next best thing. 😉

The story follows a likable, lonely girl who loves Halloween and goes to a party with lots of themed activities and eventually enters a room that was supposed to be off limits. It felt just like going to a party myself,I really enjoyed the experience of reading this. It's short but great quality. I'm not one to comprehend hookups with strangers but the little steamy part was still yummy,lol.

So many Halloween novellas don't deliver on the actual holiday feeling or spookiness,but this was perfect.

What I really enjoyed about the book was the spookiness of the party. So much of it sounded real, that I kept flipping back and forth in what I thought was going on. Even towards the end when Maggie meets the host of the party and there’s that instant mutual uncontrollable attraction that you often read about in shifters, I wondered if he was indeed a shifter. Like I said, lots of stuff going on here.

A good short free read that is fun and well written though if I'm honest more 3.5 than 4 stars (except I haven't worked out how to do half stars). I feel this book could be easily made a five star read simply by expanding the story especially around the local murder stories and therefore making the book full length. Overall still a good read though

Sometimes a quick read is not best approach. The storyline had potential; the characters were too “flat” for me; and the whole story just didn’t gel. It needed a little more depth and a stronger ending. I’m just glad it was free! Better luck next time, Ms Wilde.

A short story (very short, 15 min read at most), but kind of fun as long as you aren't expecting a deep story with fully fleshed out characters. It gives a small scare, a bit of a chuckle and a sweet interlude and then the end.

Short but sweet

I love a book with a sexy curvy girl with the confidence to make a move on the hunky stud. I do wish we could have gotten the rest of Maggie and Griffin's story, but the teaserness of this short makes me want to keep an eye out for more in the future.

Is this supposed to be a romance? Because the guy doesn't even appear until last chapter and then boom it ends after a brief encounter. It was truly just a story about a girl that goes to a Halloween party.
