Anne of Athelhampton and the Riddle of the Apes is a children's/teen/young adult/all ages fiction book about Anne, the youngest daughter of Sir Nicholas Martyn, who owns Athelhampton House, in the heart of Dorset. The Tudor House, which still exists today is the setting for this fabulous book, with the characters based on true historical figures from Elizabethan Times. Anne must solve a riddle using features of the house to save her grandmother from evil Young John. The book is written by today's owner of Athelhampton, Giles Keating and the text is illustrated by Noah Warnes
This, while stand alone for now, appears to be the introduction to the Anne of Athelhampton series, which introduces us to Anne, a 12 year old young lady in the Tudor court, seeking to protect her family from the evils of intrigue. Well performed audiobook. Youth appropriate.
