The Complete Harvesters Series: A Post-Apocalyptic Alien Invasion Adventure

Rate this book
He just wanted his exosuit back.

She was out to save her brother.

What they got were bloodthirsty aliens. And maybe the end of the world.

In a world devastated by alien invasion, Jarek and Rachel were never paragons of heroism. They survived, same as anyone else. They protected what was dear—Jarek with his exosuit and beloved AI companion, Rachel with her brother. They kept things simple... until the raknoth came and took it all away.

Now, Jarek and Rachel will stop at nothing to protect what's theirs, even if it means swallowing their pride and working together to survive. Because it turns out the raknoth are only the beginning of the bad news for Mother Earth...

What do a smart-mouthed sword-slinger and a surly arcanist have in common?
Neither of them signed up for this crap.

But together, they might just be strong enough to finish it. Assuming they don't kill each other first...

Luke is a storyteller whose dreams include learning the ways of the Force, becoming a sentient robot, and maybe even one day growing up. Also, lots of zombies… Don't ask.

After studying engineering science at Penn State and neuroengineering at Drexel, Luke finally decided to throw in the towel on actually building a working Iron Man suit, opting instead to simply make things up and write them down. Boy, is he having more fun now.

When he's not holed up in his cave trying to string words together, he can often be found powerlifting, video-gaming, reading, and/or drinking the darkest, most roasty beers he can get his mitts on.

You know what? Enough about Luke. He's not that interesting. But if you'd like to say hi to him for whatever reason, he'd probably be glad to hear from you. Contact him at luke@lukermitchell.com (kind of a silly email address, right?) with questions, critiques, or just a friendly hello!

This series has been a great read, with a tremendous edge of the seat, nerve wrecking, action thrill.
I’ll say that the covers are really hair raising and attractive at the same time: I love how the Rakul is drawn so realistically. I’m with the alliance between humans and the Ragnok, even though it’s hard to accept it. This series is one of the toughest and most action wise trepidant and emotional I’ve read. A REAPER, absolutely!

Pretty good reading, all in all, but .... boy, they all were long, all 4 novels in the book !
Much in the line of Stephen King's too much wording :-))
But I admit a lot were alert, and page-turner so to speak.
Also with kind of happy ending in the last book of this omnibook.

I wonder, though, were all those people, good or bad, had all their weapons ! It was, after all, a catastrophe that nearly destroyed humanity, and left only a few people around; out of whom, a lot were only the bad guys (marauders), or even plain zombie-like.
Frankly, now at the end I couldn't tell where did Jarek had FELA and even Al (Alfred, his personal AI advisor/help).
Or how did Rachel became the way she is (telekinesis capable, and all her other "powers").
Well... maybe these are not needed, anyway.

4 books: Red Gambit
Hell to Pay
Reaping Day
Retribution

A juvenile series with humans battling aliens on Earth in our near future. Contains fights, a flippant main character, more fights, more fights, more fights, flippancy, fights, fights, flippancy, fights, fights, fights, flippancy, ad nauseam. Good perhaps for preteens and teens. Boring for adults.

Like Mitchell is absolutely in the top 5 of my favorite authors!!!!!

The Harvesters Series is the best series I've read in years! Like is an incredibly gifted author . He has created a cast of characters who have all the faults of us mortals. I have giggled, laughed out loud, cringe at the pain endured, the near misses and the blows that landed, both to the heart as well to the body. This story has kept me in suspense yet at times grieving with the characters.
An incredible story. I hope Luke will bring Jerick, Rachell, and the rest of the wonderful people who made this such a wonderful experience!

What a great series!

This Series kept popping up on my recommended books and I’m so glad I picked it up! The whole series just kept me wanting to read more and more, and the other did a great job of keeping me entertained and providing the full story. Very good read, highly recommended.

Great Read.

I really liked the Harvester series. It has action, snark and a little romance. My wife always said I liked snark a little too much. And she would know, we've been together over 45 years and she heard it every time my mouth opened. I'll be reading more of Luke Mitchell's books in the future.

The complete Harvest Series. Wow, what a series. There’s action, adventure, comradery, a bit of romance, and a host of interesting characters (human and other worldly). These books are fast paced with a lot of page turning, edge of your seat tension. By completion I was totally exhausted, but in a good way. Look forward to reading the spinoff Enochian series.

This set is worth every penny. I loved all the books and Soldier of Charity is my favorite. There is everything you will want in this sci fi series along with a healthy dose of empathy.

A wonderful series! I found a entertaining adventure, chocked full of snark, wit, romance, and action! What makes these above-average novels is that they are largely character-driven,something that makes a good story a page-turning epic!Good work,MR MITCHELL!

Merged review:
