I seem to inhale the books from this series.

In Book One, we met Mac and Sarena.

In this book we meet Mac's best friend, Declan who has been set-up on a blind date with a woman named Aspen. Though neither need help in the date department, they both reluctantly agree after being harangued by their mutual friend, Evie. When they meet, it's instant attraction, lust and heat and they mutually decide to end the date with dessert at her place. Declan declares no strings and Aspen has no problem with that whatsoever. She's set to testify before a grand jury as an eyewitness to murder, so she knows she may be living on borrowed time. Living in North Carolina was never meant to be permanent.

After Aspen doesn't cling the next morning, Declan feels some type of way about it. He kicks himself because he has no way to contact Aspen for a repeat of their one night stand. Fate shines upon him as he sees Aspen walking down the street, he seizes his opportunity. Time is not on their side and the situation they find themselves in sets into motion Aspen's removal from North Carolina. Declan finds out Aspen's secret and wants to get her safely back to California to testify before the grand jury and he gets permission to do so. However, a mole, double crosses and flying bullets quickly put an end to that plan. Dodging flying bullets, pulling triggers and hitting (moving) targets is exactly what Declan and his SWAT cohorts are very, very good at doing. Who you gonna call? SWAT, of course. There will be a Book Three though I don't know who will be paired together, nor the premise.

Dirty Ballistics is the second installment in Peyton Banks Special Weapons and Tactics series. This was a quick read, but action packed and full of feeling.

Aspen and Declan meet and it’s lust at first sight. Aspen has a lot going on in her life that she can’t divulge. She’s decided it’s easier to not date than it is to get involved. Declan is into the no strings, no romance mindset. He is under the impression men like him don’t do relationships. Of course things and feelings change and they decide to give “them” a chance. Aspen’s past puts her in harms way and their relationship evolves at warp speed.

I loved seeing the couple from the previous book mentioned and I can’t wait to read the next installment!

Another one bites the dust

Declan is a ladies man and doesn't do relationships. Aspen is hiding and can't offer anything beyond no strings attached sex. Their chemistry is explosive and walking away won't be so easy. 4.0⭐️ This is the second book in the Special Weapons and Tactics series. The story revolves around Declan, former Navy SEAL, now a member of the SWAT team in Columbia, NC. To appease his pesky neighbor, he decides to go on a blind date, but he lets women know that he doesn’t do relationships-just hook-ups.

After her friend continues to badger Aspen, she decides to go on a date with the guy. When they meet sparks fly. But Aspen has a secret—she’s in the WITSEC program. She is a strong and intelligent black woman. My only complaint is that yet again we are presented with a curvy black woman with long flowing hair down her back. I implore this author (and others) to write more diverse black heroines with varied body shapes and sizes as well as different hair lengths and styles. This gives a more realistic depiction of black women.

There is plenty of action—it is thrilling and kept me on the edge of my seat. There is danger, bullets are flying and Declan along with his SWAT teammates are in the thick of the life and death situations, protecting Aspen. I enjoyed this couple, and I was gratified to see how Declan’s team rallied around the couple. One cannot help but love these SWAT team members. I am hoping that they each get their own book. Additionally, for the future books, it would add some much needed depth to the story if there is more character development and/or backstory for the main characters, especially the individual SWAT team member being featured.

Overall, this was an exciting and sexy read. I loved it! This author is fast becoming a favorite.

Another great installment in the Special Weapons and Tactics series! Peyton Banks delivers a fast paced, action-packed yet sexy, steamy book! Although, you'll enjoy the relationship between the officers more by reading book one, all books in the series can be enjoyed stand alone.

Declan has absolutely no problem finding women on his own. He's a ridiculously hot, all Alpha, SWAT team officer and that attracts the ladies just fine, thank you very much. So he has no idea why he finally gave into his neighbor when she wanted to set him up on a blind date with her co-worker. However, it only took him a few minutes in Aspen's presence to have him thanking his lucky stars. As his job puts him in constant danger, he's not in the market for a relationship but they sure can have some fun in the meantime.

The last thing Aspen needs are entanglements, even the sexy kind but a night with Declan is too much to turn down. Hiding from a dangerous past, she has nothing to offer anyone so his offer of a no strings attached affair works out perfectly. They just forgot to tell their hearts to stay out of it.

Now her past has resurfaced, with big guns, and she has to fight you stay alive. Declan and his SWAT brothers step in and assume the burden of her protection but will it be enough?

Great book with fantastic characters. I loved all the boys from the first book and love seeing them in action again. Aspen is a strong female character fighting to do what's right even though it's cost her everything she loves. I like women that don't fall apart when the world around them does! The love story felt like a fast train going downhill but it was still long enough for me to fall in love with them both! I'll be back for round three with SWAT!

This story starts off running and never slows down! The main characters are well matched to one another their strengths and passion complimenting one another. Aspen is an extraordinarily strong woman, she holds her head up and doesn’t give in to the darkness of her situation. Declan, the consummate alpha male, is instantaneously knocked off his routine when he encounters Aspen and finds himself wanting things he never thought he would because of her. But when danger lurks and makes a play for Aspen, Declan and his fellow SWAT team members will stop at nothing to keep her from harm. His team accepts her as one of their own as he admits he has claimed her as his own. He will let nothing come between them!
I really enjoyed this read. The characters were believable and well rounded. Even though the storyline moves at a quickened pace, there is never a moment where the reader is left wishing there were more substance to the characters or to the story line itself. I love that despite having every reason to have a colossal melt down of epic proportions, Aspen still sees the bright side, and she doesn’t give in to it. My favorite part of the story is the relationship and loyalty between these men. It is most certainly a band of brothers and they sacrifice without question for one another. I am new to this author, but will absolutely be looking up other reads to check out. I recommend this book to anyone who still believes the good guys should win, love is worth fighting for and that love can happen even when we are completely unprepared for it!

Aspen Hale is very frustrated about her situation. It only takes an instant for our lives to change. Declan “Dec” Owen is willing to help a friend out. He also gives the reader some indication of what the previous book is about. But don’t worry; you don’t need to have read it in order to enjoy this latest in this series. But if you’re like me you’ll at least put it on your TBR list for later. On the flip side, Declan could give just enough away that you might want to read that book first. Like he’s giving enough of the plot away – spoiler alert.

If it wasn’t already cool out, I might need a fan – plenty of steamy heat coming off the page. As a reviewer/blogger, a lot of the books I receive don’t have a cover or at least a cover as it sits on my carousel. One reason that’s good is because I don’t have any preconceived notions as to what our main characters might look like. I also like having the characters giving me a sense of what each other looks like. But when it comes to emotions, they are sometimes the ones that have to let us know what they feel.

By creating the perfect scenarios/situations it aids the reader in visualizing those steamy scenes that our author did a great job in creating. In one of those scenes, I was waiting to hear “Me Declan, You Aspen”. Aspen may have a lot coming at her but she puts on a brave face and tries not to lose her cool. It all leads to a romantic ending. An even better ending is knowing that there’s going to be a book three in the Special Weapons and Tactics Series.

Dirty Ballistics by Peyton Banks is the second installment of the Special Weapons & Tactics series. Let me just say that the boys are back and they are better than ever!

In book one, we met Mac’s SWAT teammate and bestie, Declan. Book two is Declan’s story...and what a story it is! After finally agreeing to go on a blind date with his neighbor’s co-worker, Aspen, Declan finds himself falling quickly. What he never thought he wanted, or could have, is suddenly within his reach.

Aspen is the blind date and woman that changes Declan’s game plan. She is in hiding and enters the relationship knowing that it has an end date. What she didn’t count on was Declan’s s*xy, alpha self assuming the role of protector.

Even with Aspen’s secrets and Declan’s anti-relationship stance, the two can’t fight their feelings. The characters are well developed and I swooned, laughed and sighed with them. When their HEA arrived, I couldn’t help but to smile and let my inner cheerleader loose.

I love Declan & Asher’s book. Peyton Banks writes an engaging story of romance and suspense. While this is part of a series, you don’t necessarily need to read book one (I highly suggest you do though, because it’s good) as the author fills in the blanks enough for you to understand the background and relationships.

Don’t miss out on this great IR book! I can’t wait for the next book in the series!

So I say this with almost every book in a series, but this is book two of the series, reading book one would make book two flow better and that way you already have a good insight into the characters that are introduced. When his neighbor bugs him into letting her set him up on a blind date, Declan refuses the first few times its mentioned, but finally he caves and agrees. He is shocked when he meets his date, he never thought that the blind date would be hot and give him the feels. But Declan is not one for a relationship, being on the SWAT team means he is on call 24/7 and his focus needs to be on his job, not distracted. So after both Declan and Aspen agree that the night they had is a one time thing only, Declan can't get her out of his head. Aspen has her own reasons for not wanting anything to get too serious, but something about Declan calls out to her, and makes her feel even more lonely when he isn't around. Will two people that know a relationship isn't in the cards, change their views and pursue something more?

I really liked Dirty Ballistics; drama, action, a bit of suspense, steamy naughty bits and all this makes for a one entertaining read. Declan and Aspen have some major chemistry that radiates off the pages. My only complaint, I feel that the book was way too short, and would have loved some scenes fleshed out a bit more. I give this 4 stars.

I loved the first book and this book started strong but drove me nuts the last 30%, this one had some major plot flaws to me. Declan literally did NOTHING that actually protected Aspen, the only good call he made was having Mac and friends follow them to the airport. Also, the way Ray died made no sense. Here are my points to support my thoughts:

1. Declan did not have his weapon with him when they went to the zoo, they got ambushed and she basically had to save herself after Declan got schooled

2. He kept telling her he’d protect her after agent Williams took them to that warehouse but again, he didn’t actually do anything and he let her get shot (multiple times) while she was literally hanging onto him

3. The hospital scene, how do these “guards” and “agents” let her get kidnapped AGAIN. It’s not suspicious when someone is running down the hall with a bed? Also, was security not watching the camera’s??This was the part that I almost dnf’d and threw my phone down, so frustrating to read this scene

4. Last burn or least, he didn’t even save her in that hospital scene, the did shit himself??? Please tell me how this makes sense?? Ray literally spent his last to break out of prison and hunt her down (after living a life of crime) but all it took were some intimidation tactics and he killed himself??? Huh 🤔 Also, you’re trying to tell me this man can escape prison but can’t get out of the delivery bay of a hospital?! 🙄

Boy I LOVED EVERY minute of this exciting story, and NEVER wanted it to end. Aspen Hale is living a lonely life away from everyone she loves. She thought she was doing okay, until the one friend she had in Columbia set her up on a blind date with Declan Owen, a hot SWAT officer, with whom she spent the hottest night of her life with, but it brought home how lonely she was because she could never have anything more with him. And usually Declan was okay with just hook ups, but there was something different about Aspen, so one night wasn't going to be enough for either of them. Like their attraction was so strong that it threatened to set my kindle on fire just like the sheets that caught fire during sexy times. Unfortunately, her past made up the twists that started coming out of the wood work, that set the f-bombs dropping, and Declan had no choice but to be her protector, along with his teammates. However, he really didn't quite understand who he was dealing with, as that cast of secondaries were made up of the ugliest of ugly, so the final stand was insane & heart pounding! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE the brilliantly addictive Peyton Banks, and CANNOT WAIT for more of this series, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

What a fantastic story! Peyton Banks gives us the second installment of the Special Weapons and Tactics series that is not only steamy, but the story amazing. Declan set up to go on a blind date by his neighbor. Aspen agrees to meet Declan, but she has no interest in a relationship. Perfect match! Until they realize there is more to them than just passion. But Aspen is keeping secrets, and if Declan finds them out, they will both be in danger. When her past catches up with her, will Declan be able to keep her safe? This story is fast paced, thrilling action and oh, so steamy. Declan is every woman’s dream. The good looking, protective alpha male is just how I love him, and he knows what he wants and goes after it. Aspen is strong, and her fierce love and loyalty is what makes her so attractive. This is exciting and full of edge of your seat suspense. This is my kind of book, as good as the first and I look forward to more by Banks.

Wen Ross and Trei Taylor make an amazing team for his series. I am enjoying the combination of these two. They each have great voices for the characters and enhance the story with their storytelling. It’s an incredible listen.

This was a really good, really light romantic suspense novel. It’s the second in the author’s Special Weapons & Tactics series and features Declan, a former SEAL and best friend to the Book 1 hero, and Aspen, a former rich girl in the witness protection program in hiding and on the run till she can testify. Unfortunately, someone in her security detail can be bought and she’s now in danger after a blind date and hook up situation with Dec. Of course Dec isn’t going to just let her go, not when he’s caught some feelings.

The men of this author’s Columbus SWAT team are nothing if not predictable. They go in wanting a hook up with women who are fine with the situation either way or also not necessarily looking for love, but everyone loses their hearts and I’m here for it. I also love that this is romance of color- this particular installment is interracial romance. Diversity is explored lightly in this book in the way Aspen as a black woman is treated when she’s arrested but it’s not a major theme. Already on book 3. Because this is so undemanding, it’s an eminently binge-worthy series. It’s like the Great British Bake Off of romantic suspense.

This was a really good, quick read. It was definitely a meet cute start,for me.

Aspen has a lot going on that she just can’t talk about. She’s new in town with a new job and a new friend. Her coworker and friend,Evie, finally talks her into a blind date with Evie’s neighbor,Declan. Evie also takes Declan into a blind date with Aspen.

They meet and it’s pretty much insta-lust. Some great spicy scenes ensue. There is a bit of an awkward morning after,as they both stated this was a one time thing. They do eventually get back together,but Declan can tell Aspen is hiding something.

After a trip to the zoo gone wrong,it comes out that Aspen is in witness protection after seeing her father’s business partner kill someone. She’s supposed to testify,but the bad guys want her dead before that happens.

Bad guys are everywhere and the only ones she can trust are Declan and his team. They both go through a lot, but in the end it’s worth it.

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

Witness protection leads to Love!

My, my once again, the boys in blue -SWAT do their thing cause there is intrigue, danger, hot sex, and ultimately love. Declan and Aspen meet on a blind date set up by his neighbor Evie. Due to being in witness protection Aspen is closed off to opening up to Declan, but he feels she's hiding something, as does Mac, his best friend. When Aspen is in danger, Declan and his SWAT brothers take action and get her back safe. These two are good together. I loved this book as well as the others I've read. I did find it strange that no one notified Aspen's parents sooner. They should have known she was okay before her news conference. However, this was still an excellent book, and I look forward to finishing the series on these hot, sexy, strong heroes and the women that bring joy and love into their lives. These books' characters are well-matched, and the laughs, antics, and friendship with these men and the women are fantastic. Thanks again, Ms. Banks, for another excellent read.

Fantastic

Wow talk about drama, chemistry and passion its all packed in this one exciting and captivating story. A book that certainly is a must read and it will have you turning the pages to see what is happens next with these two. This is one book that you may want to have tall glass of your favorite and look out for the man of the hour. I really enjoyed these characters they are so amazing and great together. When you add in the drama along with tons of emotions.The relationship has loads of action and romance that works out for good.This story is truly delightful and amazing experience it's exciting and suspenseful full of action with so much romance! Even the secondary characters are great.There is one thing I wish for and that is for more because I hate for a awesome story to end. But overall this is well worth it. I Highly Recommend Reading it.This is a great story that I know I will read more than once!

Aspen is in witness protection and has been told by her protection officer that she needs to start making a new life for herself so when a work friend decides to set her up on a blind date she thinks why nor. Declan doesn't really need help attracting the opposite sex he is all alpha male and as a member of SWAT he is usually fighting women off but when his neighbours sets him up on a blind date he decides to go. Aspen i attracted to Declan but knows she can't get attached she could be moved at any time Declan doesn't want anything long term so they agree to have an affair Only problem emotions start to get involved. Now he past is closing in on her and it is up to Declan and his SWAT teammates to keep her safe. Be prepared for a thrilling ride as the twits and turns keep coming at you in this wonderful book

Our heroine is in witness protection, while our hero is a SWAT officer. One blind date puts them both at risk.

I love romantic suspense stories because you get the best of both worlds. This is a guy's story with furious action combined with a chick flick with romance and feelings. And let's not overlook the fact that we are going to get our share of hot steamy action.

This book lives up to expectations and then some. Our couple might be pushed together by fate (and an overly helpful friend), but when the bullets start to fly, nothing will keep them apart.

The story is very well written with believable characters and solid pacing. Once the action starts, whether it is in the bedroom or running from the bad guys, you won't want to put it down.

Highly recommended.

What a great addition to this series!! I couldn't put it down.

Aspen is a woman on the run. She is trying to keep a low profile and just exist. However a coworker of hers keeps trying to set her up with her neighbor. Giving in, just to make her stop asking, she is introduced to Declan Owen. Right from the first meeting these two's chemistry is off the charts.

Declan meets Aspen and knows right away something is a little off about her but he is attracted to her so he pushes it aside. His SWAT training tells him she is hiding something but he can't figure out what it is. However when his best friend starts giving him a hard time about her, he starts to realize just how deep he is in with this woman.

I really enjoyed this book! I would highly recommend it.

Peyton Banks is quickly becoming a go to favorite for me. Especially with this series. Dirty Ballistics combines swoony sweet romance, delicious heat, and nail biting suspense in one unputdownable read! Everything about Declan and Aspen grabbed me the moment I started reading at kept me hooked to the end. There’s not one thing I didn’t love about these two!
I found myself immediately drawn to Aspen. Hiding out in witness protection she’s living quite the lonely life, but her strength to do the right thing and not give up no matter how much it’s cost her made her someone you can’t help but admire. Declan is exactly what she needs in her life. Strong, kind, brave, and seriously sexy neither of them knows what hits them when they’re pushed together.

Peyton Banks did not disappoint. Declan was my favorite type of alpha. Nothing is appealing about an alpha that's too overbearing and giving off hypermasculinity vibes. He saw what he wanted and went for it. Aspen was awesome. She was confident within herself and thats what's appealing in a leading heroine. *Spoiler* I think my only gripe was if Aspen is in Witness Protection, should her WHOLE name change? Like her name was still Aspen but they only changed her last name. But other than that, this book is great. Totally recommend it.

I was so excited to read Declan's story and it did not disappoint! Declan is a self proclaimed bachelor who isn't looking for a relationship or love. That makes him perfect for Aspen who, because of unfortunate life circumstances like witness protection, isn't looking for any sort of commitment either. Of course once these two get together their chemistry is off the charts and their connection is too strong to be ignored. Throw in some really bad guys coming after Aspen, which Declan and the guys weren't having, and this book was a hot, action packed read. Really enjoyed this book and can't wait to see who's story is next!

Peyton Banks has created a fantastic, suspenseful love story about Declan a SWAT officer who believes that a relationship is impossible because of his job and Aspen a woman in the Witness Protection Program who uncovered an embezzlement scheme and witnessed a murder. Full of secrets suspense, fear, embezzlement, murder, steamy passion, SWAT officers that are more brothers all willing to protect one of their own and his woman, and love. Dirty Ballistics was a well written storyline, with wonderful characters, and alpha males who protect and love their women and family. A great and thrilling story that I couldn't put down.

This book was about a woman who found out about her father's business partner embezzling money and witnessed him committing a murder. She was put in a witness protection program and spent a lot of time in the book hiding from the murderer who sent men to kill her. Along the way she fell in love with the SWAT team member who tried to protect her and there are some great sex scenes. They try to find their HEA together. I highly recommend this book to those who like romance mixed with action and adventure!

This is the second book in this awesome series and is Declan and Aspen’s story, and what a story this is! Declan is dedicated to his career, and when a neighbour ask him to go on a blind date with one of her co-workers, he eventually agrees. Aspen is new in town, and with her secrets she just wants to live under the radar. No spoilers; this is a must read series, you will not be disappointed! This is a well written flawless story, which is filled with secrets, drama, action, suspense, love, and is an all round steamy read. I was totally intrigued and hooked throughout, and look forward to reading more from this talented author, who I highly recommend for all readers.

This is the second book in the Special Weapons & Tactics Series, a Military Romance, and BWWM Romance. I loved the first book, and was happy to see again the characters from Dirty Tactics. This second book is as good as the first, with a lot of action, suspense, and chemistry. Declan and Aspen are great characters. I loved to follow them in this journey. Looking forward to listen to the next book in the Series, Dirty Operations. I like romantic suspense! Wen Ross and Trei Taylor did a great job with the narration. They both have a great voice, and their voices fit just well together. I enjoyed it.
