LOGAN (Steele Protectors 1) is the 1st book in USA Today and Amazon #1 Bestselling Author, Carole Mortimer’s, BRAND NEW Contemporary Romantic Suspense series.

Author’s Note: Beware of the very sexy & very alpha Steele brothers. These books are HOT!

LOGAN Steele is having a bad day. Well…after being shot, and almost dying, he’s having a bad month. Being forced to recuperate by manning the offices at Steele Protectors, the family security company, is not improving his already short temper.

Which might be one explanation as to why Logan, after having a particularly difficult weekend, is so rude to the beautiful August Harvey when she is shown into his office one wet Monday afternoon.

The other reason could be that Logan is just naturally rude and impatient.

Nor is his mood improved by what August Harvey has to tell him.

August had thought she was doing the right thing by coming to see one of the Steele brothers when her friend Jenna disappears. But after only two minutes in the company of Logan Steele, August is seriously rethinking that decision. Logan might be one of the most dangerous and handsome men she has ever seen, and hotter than hell, but he’s also arrogant, rude, and just all-round impossible.

But there’s no denying that Jenna is missing, and the Steele brothers are the ones that need to find her.

Being treated as if she might have had something to do with Jenna’s disappearances is the last thing August expected.

Until it’s revealed that she does…

A quick fluffy read.
You get both POVs so you never wonder what Logan is thinking when he's an asshat to Augusta.
Augusta's roommate, Jenna is the psuedo sister of 6 hot security specialists. When Jenna goes missing it's Augusta's poor luck to find Logan manning the front desk at the security firm.
Fortunately for Logan, she sees past his crusty exterior to the soft sweet inside.

Some odd things about the book, both Logan and his twin Rourke, keep coming onto Augusta in that cheesy way guys have in bars. It was a little off putting.
Augusta just happens to be the cure for Logan's PTSD. *roll my eyes*

So it was kinda OTT. But still a fun.
If the rest of the series was on KU, I would check them out, but as it isn't... Oh well.

Safety is good but annoying

Love to see an alpha male fall fast and furious! This is a new series by Carole Mortimer introducing the 6 Steel brothers and an adopted sister. They run a security business! When one of their own is kidnapped and beaten they go on the offensive to find the culprits. We meet Logan who has secrets of his own and he is enamored with August as soon as he meets her. She is able to calm the beast. Great series start can’t wait to see Atticus fall!

3.5 stars. A cute, fun read.

It didn't suck me in, or tear me apart but it was a pretty good book over all. Logan was a fun character, August was a bit wishy-washy but had some sharp wit. The sharp jump from 'we had sex' to 'we made beautiful love' was super quick but it was a short book so I guess there isn't too much room for realistic progression. The danger was interesting, and the brothers intriguing.

I'd read the others if I came across them.

Fast paced and kinda cute, if you can get over the instanlove thing and the « hot and still a Virgin » cliche

FINAL DECISION: Enjoyable start to the new series. The story and characters will be familiar to Mortimer fans but it was a nice version of her typical story.

THE STORY: August Harvey comes to the Steele brothers because her roommate (and the brothers adopted sister) is missing. There she meets Logan Steele who is recovering from being shot. When August is found to be in danger, Logan must protect her.

OPINION: Putting aside the quick turn to love in this book, I really enjoyed the interaction between these characters. The story was simple and compact which allowed the characters to have some interesting interactions with one another.

These book tend to be premised on an intense event which thrusts the characters into close proximity for a short time. That pattern is followed here, but I enjoyed the rude and annoying Logan being taken to taste by the feisty August.

This book is of a shorter length so there isn't really much character development, but I enjoyed it as an introduction to all the characters in the series and some really hot moments between Logan and August.

WORTH MENTIONING: Atticus and Jenna almost stole the book.

CONNECTED BOOKS: LOGAN is the first book in the Steele Protectors series about six brothers.

STAR RATING: I give this book 4 stars.

A nice enough story the first of a new series. However I do get fed up with the swearing used which is unnecessary in my opinion by both female and male characters. I don't mind the odd swear word but not regular usage, for me it coarsens the characters particularly the women. This is the difference between her Mills and Boon novels and the her adult contemporary novels.

Logan turned out to be a good choice to take the edge off from my last book.
Not too deep, not too long, just a simple story about a man and his sister’s bestie.
Who needed help when that sister disappeared.
The plot was simple, the suspense not too intense, just a good background for their budding romance.
I’m glad i got it as a freebie on iTunes a long time ago, though.
Because i would’ve regretted having to pay for it.....
But it did the job and made me smile.

Logan and August's story was fast paced around the disappearance and beating of Jenna, Logan's sister. He's HOT and an Alpha while she is beautiful, smart and can put him in his place. Overall quality of writing was really good. No cheating or cliffhanger and you get a happy ever after.

So this is the first book in series! Lord what do I say about this book! It's beautiful
.
.
Little predictable at times but the chemistry is hot and it gives plot to the next book in series i.e. Atticus! And I am sure while reading this novella what you want next is Atticus and Jenaa (might have spelled it wrong🤪) but I am waiting for April 2019!
.
.
Now about Logan and August! These both are cutiess! And this is freaking hotttt and keeps you on edge!
.
.
Once again I am waiting for Atticus!!😋😋😋🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

First of all, I love Carole Mortimer books! Logan Steele is one of 6 sexy brothers who all work together for an agency.
I love the detailed description of how masculine and sexy Logan and his gorgeous brothers are.
This is an exciting story of mistaken identity. Love the action and page-tuener. I love the way Logan and beautiful August meet, and how surprised and happy at their time together. Of course this story had some hot love scenes, I expected it to more and sizzling. But, I highly recommend this book!

Carole is a new author to me.

I know she has tons of books out, I'd just never found them before. I'm so glad I did! I have really enjoyed the books I've read! Only thing that could make it better, would be to have them in Kindle Unlimited. I read approximately two books a day. I wish I could afford to buy them. Unfortunately, I can't. I really appreciate the authors who use Kindle Unlimited. Thank you to all of you!! If you haven't read any books by Carole, start now! I highly recommend them.

My Rating: 4.5

Tropes: Suspense - Forced Proximity - Security

Heat: 7/10
Emotion 7/10
Story: 7/10
Characters: 7/10
Interest: 7/10
POV: Dual
No Cheating

"Logan" is a story with a little mystery, some steam and a HEA.

What I did Like:
- I always like Carole Mortimer's writing style
- The characters were good
- There is no unnecessary angst

What I didn't Like:
- I would have preferred it to be abit longer, with some twist, as far as the plot was concerned.
- Everything seemed to have happened too fast.

Overall, i enjoyed the story (both the plot and the love story), it kept me interested till the end and i will read more from the author.

A mystery with seduction.

Carole Mortimer has a writing style I've enjoyed for so long. Here she writes about the Steele brothers in this instance Logan. He's crass, brash, sexy as all get out with a heart of gold and an overprotective streak a mile wide. He meets his sister Jenna's friend and room mate August who informs the brothers that Jenna is missing. She's worried and so begins a little game of tag and seduce while investigating the whereabouts of Jenna. Awesome read.

This was disappointing. It started really well, but then seemed to abruptly gallop to the end. The ending was very rushed and abrupt, as though the author suddenly realised there were no more pages and she had to finish as quickly as possible. It was jarring. There is all this build up then everything is resolved in a couple big leaps.

Love Alpha Men?

Holy hotness Steele Brothers! Ladies don't stand a chance once they take over. Lots of feisty banter between Logan and August, as well as from their equally feisty adopted sister, Jenna. Enjoy the twists and turns and hot love scenes😇

Arse

There were times when I thought August should have killed Logan. This story was fairly predictable. I imagine each brother has an interesting story to tell.

Hard to finish

The characters are likable and the story has promise but something was lacking. There was no spark or tension, and it was all a bit predictable to the very end.
