The Sage Gardens residents are very excited to find out that one of the residents will be featured on a TV show. How Much is it Worth? is filming an episode in one of the villas. The TV show reveals more than they bargained for and Samantha, Jo, Walt and Eddy are glued to the screen. But their attention shifts when someone is murdered. The four retirees immediately go into investigative mode as they search to find the truth. Not only do they like to do a little sleuthing, but with Jo as one of the prime suspects they find that they have no choice if they want to help keep their friend out of jail. The four friends find themselves in a mountain of clutter, suspects and evidence as they dig through the clues to catch the killer. It is a race to find the murderer before everything comes crashing down around them. Will the ‘Sage Gardens Sleuths’ solve the crime before the real culprit disappears and Jo takes the fall?
In the 13th Sage Garden book by Cindy Bell, friends Eddy, a retired cop; Walt, a retired accountant; Jo, a recovered convict who stole antiques and Samantha, a retired investigative journalist are all set to enjoy a reality show "How Much Is It Worth?" starring a fellow resident of Sage Gardens. After seeing how upset Shayla Thompson was when Harold, the narrator of the show, asked if she would sell her toy car collection, Samantha decided to bake a cake and take it to her the next day. Jo asked if she could tag along. When they knocked on Shayla's door there was no answer. Thinking something might have happened to her, the gals opened the door and went in. They found Shayla stuffed in a closet and dead. When the police begin to investigate, Jo becomes the primary suspect because she is a known thief and a resident of Sage Gardens. The four friends band together to prove Jo's innocence and find the real killer. The suspect list is long. Could it be Shayla's husband or his new girlfriend? Her son who has been removing and selling from Shayla's hoard without her approval? Shayla's old acquaintance, Brad Walton? A conman, Denver, who had previously done a job with Jo? This is another great cozy by Cindy. A must read! I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
The latest installment in the Sage Gardens Mystery series finds Samantha, Eddy, Jo and Walt (or the Fab Four as I call them) using their personal skills to track down a robber and murderer when said crimes strike close to home and one of them is implicated. There were a lot of twists in this book that keep me glued to the pages before it came to a very satisfying conclusion. I love the loyalty and friendship that exists between the foursome and that they always have each other's backs no matter what. They aren't always friends with the police investigating but their best interests are always evident. This is a great addition to an already fabulous series by Cindy Bell.
This one kept me guessing till the end. I enjoyed how the friends work together and support each other all the time. I like how we keep learning more about their lives. One of my favorite series. I enjoy everything by Cindy Bell. Her characters are always believable. Good job.
Another wonderful story in the life CiNdy Bell, The author does seem to write some very fun stories! This story is one of her tales about four characters who live in a retirement villa, but don't know they are retired. They run around and get into all kinds of mischief, just ask the police.
I just love those four characters. Amazing how four strangers become such good friends. You always write great stories. There's a murder but you show how people interact and solve a murder. Hope there will be more stories with these four people. I like to sit down with them and share a cup of tea. Thank you.
The four retirees are busy trying to solve the murder of a woman none of them knew. She lived in one of the villas in their retirement community. There were many suspects as well as a new police detective to deal with. Interesting characters and situations.
I love all the characters that live in sage gardens I want to live there and if you love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that keeps you turning the page then this one by Cindy Bell is a must read
This wasn't the best this series had put out, but it was at least a different sort of storyline. I also still find the idea of a group of retirees as mystery solvers hilarious.
I really did not see this one coming. The ending took me by surprise. This story was well written and made you feel as if you were there looking on. I love the characters and the way they supported each other. Waiting for the next installment.
Very interesting to see how they all work together to solve the murder. And I liked that it was about antiques too! They seem to work together better rather than alone. Fun read.
Another wonderful plot line by Cindy Bell. I have read all the books in this series and I love how the relationship between this senior citizens are advancing. A must read Cozy Mystery Series.
Is money worth giving up the collection??? Who murdered Shayla and why??? Stay out of a hoarder’s house – the clutter may get you!!! I enjoyed the story and recommend the book.
I had not read any of the previous books in this series when I came across Clutter Can Be Deadly. I enjoyed the relationship the main characters have with each other so much that I really hated to see the book end. I will definitely be reading all the other books in this series.
Cindy Bell has done it again. Another ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ winner. The Sage Garden Crime Fighters outwitted the Detective and solved not one but two murders and a theft. Love this fiesty group of friends.
