Jed and Josie's combustible connection is stronger than ever. Having Josie and her son in his life brings out all of Jed's protective instincts-and visions of a future he never imagined having. Mad About Moon was the fifth book in Melissa Foster’s Whiskey series; however, it can be read as a stand-alone if desired.

Jed Moon was the sister to Crystal (book two, Truly, Madly Whiskey). He was the older brother who supported her when they were kids by stealing to keep them fed and clothed. He stayed in trouble when he was young but as they got older he straightened out, was prospecting at the Dark Knights and worked as a mechanic and bouncer for Dark Knight businesses.

Josie Beckley was a struggling widow with her six year old son, Hail. We met her in book four, Wicked Whiskey Love, as the bitter and troubled long lost sister to Scott and Sarah. She was abandoned by them at thirteen and had to fend for herself, or so she thought.

Mad About Moon was a multi-faceted storyline with several plots that eventually merged into one. Josie came from a horrendous background with abusive parents where eventually one by one the three children fled. Much of the story centered around the three reuniting, the discovery of their separate lives and the struggle for Josie to forgive. Simultaneously, the storyline revealed a history between Josie and Jed. Amongst his troubled past, Jed had never forgotten the one girl he truly connected with for one night.

The story was emotional, humorous and fun with depth, dimension and complexity. It was built around second chances in all areas of life. Foster also included the strong cast of secondary characters through the entire extended Whiskey and Dark Knight clan demonstrating love, loyalty and family bonds at every turn. The fiery Dixie Whiskey is up next in Taming My Whiskey which shows promise of an explosive, sassy and passionate tale.

Where do I begin without SCREAMING ON HERE! I have been waiting for Moon's story for like 4 months LOL since Dr. Whiskey which feels like was forever ago. The Whiskey Series is a TOP favorite of mine from MF. This book was different for me yet felt right at home! I loved LOVED it!

To understand Josie's story better, it's best to definitely read the whole series BUT Wicked Whiskey Love especially. She is a unique character, unique because her story isn't as usual. After she lost her husband who was everything to her, her and her son were the only things that mattered. She wanted to make sure that he was always taken care of, when she gets the courage to confront her brother-sister after so many years, she thinks that she also saw Moon a.k.a Jed. To he imagination, she was not crazy, she did see Moon again. Their past is intertwined in her past and present. Josie is a head-strong, single mom who doesn't trust easy and is a bit ski-dish. Going through a very rough patch, how can she trust Moon...after-all they only shared a moment...

Moon can't believe his eyes when he saw who was at the front door. He thought he was imagining so much that he volunteered for a job (being a recruit and all) that involved JoJo. When he realized it was her, and then of course realizing she has a kid. He didn't know what had happened to her after the years but he was determined to re-connect. However that meant. The reason i ABSOLUTELY fell in love with Moon was in a scene with him and JoJo's son, GAH he is just so sweet and SO MUCH SWOON! I can't express enough how magical he is! He is a bit younger and a prospect like I said therefore not patched in.

The road to re-connect sometimes is not a road at all, but just obstacles. That is what these two go through...in the end, was is all worth it?

Guys, please can I rate this a 10 PLUS, please?! This nerve-wrecking story had me on my toes and reading faster than my brain could catch up with. You want a hero that is not only drop-dead gorgeous with all his flaws but so SWOON worthy that you might think it's in real life...MOON is your man. I loved each character (from the past books), unusual ending and a beautiful one. I don't want to say too much just that, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Melissa's writing as usual is smooth and on point! I keep having to say this, but MF does romance right! Swooning, emotional, suspenseful, action packed, sizzling and beautiful, just beautiful!!

10 PLUS & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, for the entire series.

Mad About Moon is the fifth installment in the Whiskey's series and yeah I am not really reading these books in order even though I know I probably should. But the blurb in this one was what I was really in the mood for and lately I have been mood reading and its been grand. I definitely think I had really high expectations for this book....maybe a bit too high because I had a hard time getting into this one especially the first half. Its a solid story and really good just I didn't click with the romance for a bit but did enjoy the story overall

Mad About Moon is a story of a second chance love and single parenthood. Jed and Josie met years previous when they were young and fresh and a bit wild. But there was a fierce connection between them but at the time neither was ready for it and went their separate ways. Jed got wild and crazy, did some things he regretted and thanks to the MC he found his way back to solid ground. Josie got married shortly after breaking things off with Jed, a loving man who gave her a beautiful son. But then her husband passed away from a heart defect and financially things are a struggle, barely making it and reconnecting with her sister and brother and stumbling into Jed and the sparks between them fly more fiercely than ever.

“It’s okay, sweetheart,” Red said sweetly. “You’ve been on your own for a long time, but you’ll never have to be alone again.”

Mad About Moon is a story that really delves deep into some serious issues while at the same time not being too dark or serious in those issues. She brings some great humor and levity to the story that offers that balance that is really needed to not overwhelm the reader. I honestly struggled with this couple at times to be honest. I just didn't quite connect with their romance in many ways especially there in the beginning. It did eventually thaw out but it did take time before I warmed up to this pairing. I did love seeing Josie reconnect with her siblings....that is where I really got to all the feels. They all have suffered such trauma and yet had various paths but find that unity and common ground.

“You can’t choose your parents, but you can choose what kind of parent you will be,”

I really bonded with Jed and Josie's little boy and he just charmed me in so many ways. Jed is such a strong hero. He has his demons and has made his share of mistakes but has grown in so many ways that is so admirable. I loved seeing his growth and he is a prospect for the MC and boy I wish all prospects were written like Jed. Because WOW....he is one incredible man in all his endeavors that we see here. I especially loved his interactions with Biggs and his sons. It just made me fall more in love with this family even more.

Overall, even though I struggled with the first beginnings, this story offered clarity, a sense of healing and growth and a passionate love worth fighting for and a family coming together in such heartfelt ways.

Josie Beckley hasnt seen Moon, aka Jed Moon, since she was 17. One night was all they had but the strength of their connection was intense as was their night together. Now he sees he show up at a party at his friends house. She is the younger sister of Sarah and Scott. She hasnt seen them in year till fate has left her a homeless widowed mother. When she shows up at the shelter and runs into Sarah.

Being a Dark Knight he volunteers to watch out for her and Hail, her son. In doing so he hopes to break down her walls and help her find love again. To find a fresh start. To find and rekindle her relationship with her family. To give her the world.

This was a good book but no 'wow factor' for me. I liked the other reads in this series better. Hail was a cool kid character. I didnt like the ending where he finds a picture and what comes after to me that diminished her life before reuniting with him.

The Whiskeys are BACK! And boy oh boy did I miss them!! Mad About Moon is Josie and Jed’s story—a second-chance romance for two people who fell into something fantastic six years ago, but weren’t quite ready for each other.

But now they are! Jed and Josie never thought they’d see each other again after that fateful, wonderful, “burned into memory” night. Both have been through hell and back. Jed’s a Prospect for the Dark Knights MC. He’s healthy and building a future for himself. Josie lost her family, her husband and her home—but she’s alive, starting to get life back together and her son, Hail, is loved, safe and happy.

And then Fate intervenes. Josie’s slowly reconnecting with her siblings—Sarah and Scott. And since Sarah and Scott are considered Whiskey and Dark Knights family, by extension Josie and Hail are too. With family comes protection—and Jed’s just the man for that job. And hopefully more.

When Josie and Jed reconnect, the spark immediately fly. Their connection from years ago is still as strong as ever. And Jed’s gentle, slow, sexy mannerisms help Josie overcome her fears relating to the reconnection with Sarah and Scott and her guilt over finding love again after her husband died.

I loved the romance between Jed and Josie. It was slow, sexy, swoony, and perfect for them. They both blossomed in their self-confidence and surety in their future plans. The support and love for each other was obvious and the support and love and friendship from the Whiskeys and the rest of the Dark Knights was fantastic too. It never felt contrived or really over the top. It felt real. It felt like family. And I cannot wait for more! ~ Missy, 5 stars

I love this series. It’s seriously like catching up with old friends. It’s so warm and familiar and everything about it just works so well. It has the perfect balance of emotion, chemistry and awesome characters. And the fact that we catch up with them all and see their family grow as we get introduced to each new couple just adds to it.

It’s been a little while since I read Bones and Sarah’s story so it did take me a minute to remember who Josie was and why she was acting like a bit of a dick towards Sarah and Scott. But luckily for me each of these is written to standalone so as I got deeper in the story I fell back into the flow of everyone and remembered who is who.

Josie was probably one of my least favourite heroines in this series and if I am being completely honest I really didn’t warm up to her too much through the book. She was just too focused on the wrong things in my opinion, or maybe that was just my take away and everyone else will see her differently. Or it could just be that I am an unsympathetic bitch who would have jumped on Moon in a minute and forgotten the rest of the world.

Because damn was Moon AKA Jed amazing. He was everything I have come to expect from a Whiskey, even a surrogate Whiskey member. He was so loving and caring and sweet and he had such a massive heart (yeah I was thinking a little lower was pretty impressive as well). And I am seriously looking forward to seeing how his Junior Knights program develops and see him become a full member of the Dark Knights.

And I am loving all the new characters we have been introduced to in this book. I am hoping we get their stories soon. Although I am really looking forward to seeing Dixie get her heart won and seeing how her brothers deal with it all. Hell I am just looking forward to more.

Mad About Moon by Melissa Foster is such a good read.

The storyline is beautifully written, well paced, lovable and relatable characters and I loved the overall family and community love and support they all shared.

I loved Moon/Jed and Josie together, they've been through so much heartache and pain it warmed my heart watching them reconnect, find internal peace and fall in love.

Mad About Moon is a wonderful addition to The Whiskeys series, each book has touched my heart and I highly recommend them all!

Melissa Foster is a masterful of words! She created the Whiskeys world and each book is getting better and better.
Josie and Jed's story has been hinted in the previous book, Wicked Whiskey Love, and it is nice to know this young couple and Josie's little rascal Hail, a new cutie to the kid's gang. Hail and Kennedy are so funny.
Jed is Crystal's brother and he is trying to overcome his past when he was in trouble with the law to help his family. He is a hard worker and is a prospect in the Dark Knights MC and is moving on with his life. Josie is also trying to survive her abusive parents, loosing her husband and being now in a shelter with her son after loosing their house. These two have a past and now they have a second chance to love and to live.
With the help of the Whiskey family and friends these two overcome to much! It is a strong story with so much feelings and love. A book that you will love to read!

‘Mad About Moon’ is the fifth book in the epic Whiskey series, and I was given it in exchange for an honest review.

This book had everything I could possibly want in a romance book, it was; exciting, thrilling, passionate, emotional and captivating. The chemistry between Jed and Josie is off the charts, and their love for one another is special and unique, so much so that when they see each other for the first time after years, it is love at first sight all over again.

Josie is brave, strong and has been through so much in her life. She has overcome abusive parents, becoming a teenage mother and wife, as well as losing a man she adored.

So when Josie finds herself in a shelter for women, with no money and her son to protect, she is afraid and lost without direction. She grasps onto a hope of being able to rekindle her relationship with her estranged siblings, and attends her sisters New Years party to attempt to mend bridges. Little does she know that behind the door is not only her family, but a man she very much tried hard to forget.

Jed Moon has a heart a big as the ocean, he is a reformed thief and a prospect for the Dark Knights MC’s. He is strong, confident and handsome. He has been searching for something he has felt his life has been lacking, uncertain of what it may be until he becomes reacquainted with Josie.

He soon learns he’s been missing the connection he’s built with her one evening many years ago. Josie being the only woman he was ever truly able to open up to. She is his calm and makes him want to settle and be a good man, when he is her moon guiding her through the darkest times of her life.

Their relationship is heart melting and I cried so many times throughout this book at all the sweet little moments Jed shares with not only Josie, but her son Hail. Melissa Foster certainly knows how to take her readers on a journey and this book was an emotional rollercoaster I’d want to ride again.

I adore the Whiskeys, always assuming that Bones was my favourite, but Jed Moon has certainly given him a run for his money. The characters are just as loveable as in the previous four books and I can’t wait to see where Dixie’s story goes.

This is a must read for anyone who would like to become completely immersed in a new series. It is perfect for romance lovers, particularly MC romance lovers and anyone who just appreciates a good feel good read. It is very easy to fall in love with all of the characters and this book will not disappoint.

Mad About Moon is the first book in The Whiskeys series that doesn't have the word Whiskey on the title and 5th overall in the series. I guess that it's understandable as to why it doesn't have that word on the title, but I still felt like I had to mention it. Dixie's book is next and I really hope that her man is going to be the OBGYN doctor.

This is Moon and Josie's story. I wouldn't call their story a second chance romance, even though these two have a history together. They had a thing in the past, but Josie ended up married to Brian with whom she had a child with, named Hail. Brian died though and now she is alone with her son and she is trying to reconnect with her siblings. If you are familiar with her series you will know that both Moon and Josie's sisters were heroines in two of the previous books and their stories are not pretty. No one's story in this book is pretty until they met their soulmates at least, so be prepared. The story pulled on my heartstrings and it made me emotional overall. Moon is a very caring man and I loved him because he was kind to the people around him. I also loved how easily and naturally took over the protective role of a father for Hail. Josie is a good person who wasn't dealt with a good hand in life, but she is trying to make the best of it. Neither character had the best upbringing and they are still trying to find their way. Their story was beautiful though and it felt natural to me. Melissa Foster knows how to write a great romance after all!

I gave 4 stars to the book instead of 5 because I have two major problems with the story. One is the timeline of Brian and Josie's relationship and the second is something about Hail's dad that we find out late in the story. I cannot say what it is because it's a spoiler, but I will say that I found it unnecessary. I feel like the story would have a bigger impact on me if I didn't know what I know now.

YOWZA - I'm simply mad about this series! What started with one of my all time favorite BBFs in Truman Gritt continues in this stellar addition of Mad About Moon. Every single in book in this series has left me feeling so happy. Mad About Moon focuses on one amazing young man in Jed Moon and Josie Beckley and her young son Hail. I'm loving how the series has progressed to feature secondary characters from earlier books, further building on the world of the wonderful Whiskey family and the Dark Knights MC Club.

Although this book is not truly a sequel to Wicked Whiskey Love, the story picks up from where it ended and we met Sarahs' and Scotts' younger sister Josie. You don't have to have read that book but I wouldn't miss any book in this series. We quickly learn there is a bit of history between Jed and Josie (even that sounds cute) and they are given the chance to reconnect and to build something.

The men of the Dark Knights are fierce protectors, but Josie doesn't need protection, she just needs a second chance to raise her son on a safe and loving environment like she once had. Much of this story is really about Moon helping to create that safe haven for Josie and Hail. This story is filled with so many heartwarming scenes between this little family in the making. Moons' relationship with Hail aside, he and Josie share some seriously steamy chemistry! But really it's the respect and courtesy they afford each other that makes for an outstanding foundation.

Ultimately the books in this series are all about finding family and forgiveness. I can't recommend this series enough!

Mad About Moon is another heart-tugging, fantastic read in The Whiskeys series by Melissa Foster. Jed Moon is not a Whiskey by birth but the way they take him in makes me feel like he could have always been a Whiskey sibling. He's the actual sibling to Crystal whose story we read in Truly, Madly, Whiskey. So, I have to say that I'm so happy that we are finally getting Jed's love story.

Melissa Foster creates real-life characters in her stories that push and pull on your heartstrings. While there are some struggles in Mad About Moon, most are in the past and we are able to see the evolution of love between both Josie and Jed from the beginning. Jed is sweet, sexy, and has the biggest heart. Always worrying about others more than himself.

While Josie battles with guilt over her past, the real star of this book shines through. Hail is Josie's son and he steals the show. Jed treads carefully, but Hail runs full force into his life. The way that Melissa Foster takes us on this touching journey is just one of the reasons I return to her works time and time again. Mad About Moon is a second-chance romance with Foster's signature happy ending.

* I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own *

This is the story of Jed Moon who is a new prospect into the Dark Knights, led by the Whiskey Family.
Sarah and Scott were saved by the Dark Knights and now Sarah is married to Bones Whiskey as we saw in the last book Wicked Whiskey Love.
Josie is sister to Sarah and Scott and after the death of her husband and being evicted from her home, Josie and her son Hail are now living in a shelter, she has tried many times to reconnect with Sarah and Scott but has always been afraid of there reaction to her and with the abuse from there parents they all endured and leaving Josie on her own with them she is not sure if she can forget herself.
The Dark Knights then decide to send someone into help Josie and Jed , being a new prospect volunteers, but he has ulterior motives, as he thinks she maybe the woman that he had a one night stand with and it stuck with him.
Josie finds it hard to take any form of help even from her own family, so we see here how the attraction between Jed and Josie are rekindled and how there love can be stronger than ever to endure whatever comes there way.
This is another great story by Melissa Foster and look forward to the next instalment in the Whiskeys Series.

Loved this book. There was a lot more depth to Josie and Jed than I was expecting, and I particularly loved Jed and the way he was with both Josie and Hail. There was a huge sense of support in this book, and I just really loved the way everyone rallied together and was there for each other.

This is a world I love coming back to, the Whiskey's is a series that I always enjoy. I liked all the new things that Josie brought to the table, and the ideas she had, and Hail was a real little cutie as well.

Really enjoyed this one and would recommend.

I really disliked the heroine in this book. Moon was fine, and he definitely deserved better.

However, I've read a lot of the reviews, and can we just talk about 2 things? 1. Brian - he met her at 14 and though we keep being assured nothing happened till she was 18, he was definitely pervy. Not one character addresses this and that makes me mad. Also, 2. Josie never once thought about her child's paternity despite sleeping with 2 men at the time? ummm, no.

Anyways, if this were the first book, I'd have quit. Luckily, it isn't and I will continue and hope for the best.

Its no secret that I love Melissa Foster books, but I just absolutely love her Whiskey Series the most! I have been dying for Jed & Josie's story, and Foster did not disappoint me one bit. This is a standalone but I do recommend you read the previous book as you will get a better feel for Josie's situation.

Jed Moon is a prospect for the Dark Knights MC run by the Whiskey's - he may not be a Whiskey by blood but he certainly is by his caring attitude. He has a rough past but seeing a girl a few years ago lead him to change his path in life and brought him to where he is right now. When Josie makes an appearance in town, Jed cant believe his eyes - this is girl he shared one night that changed his life forever!

Josie has had a terrible childhood with abusive parents and seeing how well turned out her sister Sarah and brother Scott has turned out has left her feeling all kinds of things. She is in town to try an reconnect with her siblings after being apart for so long but seeing Moon was the last thing she expected!

Their past is entwined in more ways than one, and Josie has her son Hail to protect. Her husband and his father passed away so she lost everything, but can she gain everything with Moon?

Once again Melissa has proved why I love her characters and stories so much - she weaves a tale that you can help but get hooked on and root for the couple to make it, and in this one they make their happy ever after in a spectacular way - now I may be the only one but I called it regarding a significant story line in this book and was pleased that I was right, the subtle signs were there and looking back when you think about it - it all makes total sense!

I'm MAD ABOUT MOON!!! There is just something about a man that will put everything on hold to help a woman and her child without expecting anything in return. Jed Moon knew Josie years ago but lost touch with her after their brief time together. Fast forward several years and Josie is now living in a homeless shelter with her young son after the death of her husband.

Josie and each of her siblings were abused as children, Josie being the youngest was spared the worst of it because the older ones got it the most but after they each left her parents turned on her and that's when she ran away. Josie is starting to reconnect with her siblings which we have met in earlier books but she is hesitant because it's been so many years since she has seen them. This hurt my heart as well as warmed it. It's hard to describe the feelings a person has after reconnecting with siblings they haven't seen in years but believe me, while you're hesitant you are hopeful.

This story is about love and forgiveness and second chances and perfect endings. Mad About Moon will have you holding out hope that the universe will get things right and give back what was lost. This story had a twist to it that I had in the back of my mind before it was even hinted at, I was wondering....is she going to go there? and she did! LOL

As with other books by Melissa Foster this is easy to recommend especially if you enjoy the second-chance-at-love trope. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but I always recommend starting from the beginning because once you meet one of the Whiskeys you'll want to meet them all. Happy Reading!!!

Jed est le frère aîné de Chrystal et lui a aussi a eu une vie difficile puisqu'il a perdu son père dans son accident et sa mère est devenue une alcoolique : il a multiplié les larcins pour qu'ils puissent avoir de quoi manger mais depuis qu'elle est avec Bear, il est devenu un autre homme et est devenu prospect dans le club de son beau-frère. Si sa soeur ne va plus voir leur mère, lui ne se résout pas à l'abandonner même si elle n'est que l'ombre d'elle-même : ça en dit long, non? Il travaille au bar et au garage et il va rencontrer aussi deux jeunes adolescents à qui à son tour, il va tendre la main et... un type bien, je vous dis;

Another brilliant read from Melissa Foster.
This is Jed Moon and Josie Beckley's story. Josie is Sarah and Scott's long lost sister (we met her in Wicked Whiskey Love). Josie has angst from her past, and some of it is directed at her siblings, mistakenly. But Jed breaks down her emotional barriers and worms his way into her, and son Hail's, heart. As usual the Whiskey's, and the extended group of Dark Knights, provide strength and protection, helping Josie find her way back to her family.
A feel-good read. Snuggle up, and enjoy.

Readers will find themselves once again wrapped in a warm blanket of family, acceptance, and unconditional support in this fifth installment in The Whiskeys series that was an enjoyable read from the first page to the last. With each turn of the page readers will be rooting for this hero and heroine who had an unforgettable one night-stand years ago and who’ve found their way back to each other when they need support the most. It’s a charming tale of second chances with characters who feel like family and a couple who undertake a hard-fought journey to HEA.

Jed Moon’s youth was one full of sadness, duty, and difficult choices as his father’s death left him as the man of the house. With a mother incapable of caring for her children, and a sister he did all he could to protect, Jed was left doing things that led to jail and many regrets now that he’s an adult. Becoming an honorary member of the Whiskey family changed his and his sister’s life irrevocable though and he now has the chance to be the man he wants to be. Working two jobs and being a prospect for the Dark Knights MC gives him the opportunity to leave his past behind but it also brings him into contact with the one who got away. Josie “Jojo” was a bright spot during his dark days, someone who listened and comforted him, and he’s never forgotten her. Determined not to let her get away again he becomes her protector and is now the one doing the listening as she tries to move on from her abusive past and reconnect with her siblings. It’s a slow journey for them that showed Jed’s kind heart and through his caring words and deeds he made a place for himself in her heart along with that of readers. Jed’s clearly wanting his HEA, wanting a family of his own, and that’s vividly on display in his heartwarming interactions with Josie’s son Hail. Jed easily took on a fatherly persona and his scenes with Hail endeared him to me as he was just as protective of Hail as he was of Jojo. Throughout the story Jed wore his heart on his sleeve, showing himself to be a loving man longing to prove himself, and with each turn of the page I fell a little bit more in love with him.

Josie Beckley also had a tough childhood, one of physical and mental abuse that ultimately had her siblings running away from home to leave her alone in dodging the blows. There were a few bright spots during that time though with one of them being an unforgettable night spent with a sexy and self-assured young man who made her feel like his everything, made her feel like a woman without a care in the world. The other bright spot was courtesy of a sweet young man who helped her escape her abusive home, married and protected her, while creating a charming son with her who kept her going when this young man died. His death has led to many sad twists and turns that have ended with her in a woman’s shelter. It’s a low point that she’s now trying to rise up from, but to do so she’ll have to start relying on others which is difficult for her. She’ll also have to address her sizzling connection to the boy she never forgot as he’s an endless temptation slowly working his way into her and her son’s heart. I was a bit conflicted about Josie at first as I couldn’t understand her hesitancy in wanting to reconnect with her siblings. Her fear over reuniting was palpable and frustrating. As the story progressed though, and as she became more empowered and interacted more with others, she became a heroine I could admire. Her love and protectiveness for her son was heartwarming while her awe with so many kindhearted people coming to her aid broke my heart and spoke volumes about the damage her parents did to her psyche. She was stressed over her situation often, but her scenes with Moon showed a flirty and carefree side that made for a crackling connection between the two of them as she came to rely on him more and more.

On a whole this was a story about family, those that you have by blood and those who claim you as their own. It made for a heartwarming story full of eclectic and supportive characters. With a main couple whose journey to HEA was based on second chances I was rooting for them wholeheartedly. Their interactions were sweet and sensual and slowly progressed until a surprising twist late in the story really put their connection to the test. I’m not usually a fan of children in romances but Hail was an utter delight and I enjoyed seeing the softer side of Jed that this sweet little boy brought out in him. The way to Josie’s heart was through her son and Jed was more than happy to play a fatherly role as he truly came to care for Hail. Surrounding this likable main couple was an equally appealing cast of secondary characters. From the members of the Whiskey family, to the members of the Dark Knights MC, there’s a treasure trove of unforgettable characters. For some their stories have already been told but there are plenty of others whose stories I look forward to reading...characters like Penny, Diesel, Dixie, and Quincy. Ms. Foster has crafted another heartwarming small town romance that lightly touches on the bond and protectiveness of an MC while showing a couple who make the most of their second chance at happiness. From the first page to the last this is a story full of heart and soul and I look forward to revisiting this small town and its caring denizens again soon!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 10, 2019

The perfect love story for those who enjoy fiercely loyal and insanely sexy alpha heroes, smart, sassy heroines, strong family bonds, bikers, babies, and more!

Can true love strike twice in one lifetime?
Josie Beckley refuses to believe there is a limit on happiness. A decade after she escaped her abusive parents and lost touch with her siblings, the death of her husband leaves her and her son homeless. But Josie has never been one to wallow in sadness, and when she takes a chance on reconnecting with her siblings, a sinfully handsome bright light from her past shows up and offers to help her find a way out of the darkness.

Most people wouldn't see Jed Moon as someone to look up to. He's been in and out of jail and has lived a less-than-stellar lifestyle. But years ago one woman saw through his bullshit, and he's never forgotten her. Now she's back in his life, and as a prospect for the Dark Knights motorcycle club, Jed promises to keep an eye on the sassy, sexy single mother who has never stopped lighting his fantasies on fire.

Jed and Josie's combustible connection is stronger than ever. Having Josie and her son in his life brings out all of Jed's protective instincts-and visions of a future he never imagined having. But when a shocking revelation knocks the insatiable lovers to their knees, it forces them to make choices that could change their lives forever.

REVIEW: 4.5 stars--MAD ABOUT MOON is the fifth instalment in Melissa Foster’s contemporary, adult THE WHISKEYS erotic, romance series focusing on the Whiskey family and friends of Peaceful Harbor. This is twenty-eight year old, bartender/mechanic Jed Moon, and twenty-four year old, single mother Josie Beckley’s story line. MAD ABOUT MOON can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion involving our story line heroine. The Whiskeys series is a spin off from the author’s Bradens of Peaceful Harbor. There is a slight MC biker theme throughout the series as the Whiskeys are part of the local Dark Knights MC, and Jed Moon is their latest prospect. Josie is Sarah (Wicked Whiskey Love) and Scott Beckley’s younger sister.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Josie and Jed) MAD ABOUT MOON follows the rekindling relationship and romance between twenty-eight year old, bartender/mechanic Jed Moon, and twenty-four year old, single mother Josie Beckley. Approximately six years earlier, Jed Moon met seventeen year old Josie Beckley, and it was instant love for our story line hero. A one-night stand ended when Jed discovered our heroine’s age, and in the ensuing years neither one forgot about that night. Fast forward to present day wherein Josie, a now widowed mother of one, struggles to reacquaint herself with the family she believes left her behind. What ensues is the rebuilding friendship and growing love between Josie and Moon, and the potential fall-out as Josie continues to struggle with what was, and what may be.

Both Jed and Josie’s pasts, and their histories are dark and heart breaking. At thirteen years of age, Josie found herself alone with an abusive father when her brother and sister ran without looking back. Jed Moon struggled to keep his family together but when his father died, his alcoholic mother destroyed what as left of his heart and his love.

The relationship between Josie and Jed is one of second chances; a rekindling friendship that grows into something more. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Josie’s son Hail: Dr. Wayne ‘Bones’ Whiskey, and Jed’s sister Sarah, and her children Bradley and Lila (Wicked Whiskey Love #4): Josie and Sarah’s brother Scott Beckley; Special Forces Veteran Bullet Whiskey and Finlay Wilson (Driving Whiskey Wild #3), biker/mechanic Bear Whiskey and his wife (Jed’s sister) Crystal (Truly, Madly, Whiskey 2); Bones’, Bullet & Bear’s sister Dixie as well as their parents Biggs and Wren (Red) Whiskey; Truman & Gemma (Tru Blue #1) ; Truman’s brothers and sister, Quincy, Lincoln and Kennedy; Ice Cream shop owner Penny Wilson; several members of the Dark Knights MC including Desmond ‘Diesel’ Black, Crow Burke, Charlie ‘Court’ Sharpe, Tomas ‘Tex’ Sharpe, as well as Dr. Jon Butterscotch; as well as the introduction of Crystal and Jed’s mother Pamela Moon.

The world building continues to focus on the friendships, family and support for the people of Peaceful Harbor. The conflict is limited, oft times limited to situations from the past: there is rarely a struggle with the relationship development.

MAD ABOUT MOON is a story of family and love; of friendship and support; of second chances and more. The premise is captivating and entertaining; the characters are colorful and energetic-Melissa’s story line children are delightful and adorable; the romance is seductive and intense. MAD ABOUT MOON is a wonderful read for the romantic in all of us.

Each book loses a little something for me. This was an ok read but really nothing different from the previous books. The men are a little too perfect in my opinion. It's all a bit cheesy!

** ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review. **

I adore Melissa Foster’s families story, heartwarming sharing great values about friendship, compassionate and when cooperation, mutual aid and reciprocity were key elements. I appreciated how the Whiskey family was growing throughout the books, meeting new characters. Don’t forget the hotness and the sexiness, giving a great balance in the story.

Jed Moon was about to find his second chance at love and if you have read the previous books, the men were determined to make the heroine theirs, always honest and thoughtful, in the good and bad times. He was definitely swoon worthy, quite the charmer that could turn any woman into a puddle. His spirit and perspective were a motivating force.

Josie had a tough life, a dysfunctional family, learning to protect the few the had left, to escape from the nightmare she was trapped. Trying to reunite with her estranged family was tough and when the past collided with the present, it was hard to grieve from her past experiences. A young widow and single, she reached rock bottom and was trying to survive.

The characters didn’t hold back, sharing both their burdens and supportive when needed. Josie gained a new family with the Whiskeys and the MC. It was an emotional story with fierce characters, sexy alphas heroes and badass heroines. I had a thing for flawed characters and how their experiences made them stronger, united and also moving forward in spite of every hardship they had to overcome.

I love the Whiskey series so much! It was a heartwarming second chance romance, about reconnecting and how strong it remained throughout the years. The whole universe created by author is so compelling and charming, reading about people who might have endured a lot but giving hope for a better future, the ability to ask for and accept help. The more I read about the Whiskeys and their friends, the more I want to read more. I’m such a fan!

ARC received for an honest review

Oh those Whiskey and Dark Knights, they get me in the heart every single time

I want to move to Peaceful Harbor and be adopted by everyone in this series!

If you have read this series, you have already met our leading lady Josie (in Wicked Whiskey Love, she is Sarah and Scott's sister), and my do I want her to get her HEA.

Josie and Jed (Moon)'s story is full of heartbreak and pain, however also full of heartwarming moment and hope.

And throw in a 5 year old future heartbreaker, and I was done like a dinner.

This is a beautiful second chance story, one that had me run the full gamut of emotions. I didn't know if I wanted to smile or cry half of the time. The Whiskey "family" are the clayton's family (non-Aussies won't get this reference!) - they are the family you have when you don't have a family.

Each and every book, I say that "this is my favourite", and yes, I am claiming that again.

Well, at least until the next one!

I am looking forward to what Ms Foster brings us next.

***5 ‘Gingerbread’ Stars***

And she’s done it again…

I don’t know how she does it, but with each book it’s harder and harder to pick a ‘favorite’ amongst the Whiskey clan and their extended and quite eclectic family. The goodness, even when things aren’t so good, overfloweth and only makes me want MORE.

Jed and Josie. These two I adored. Jed is, and has always been, a good man. He may have done sketchy things, but they were for good reasons and I loved that he owned everything he was and strived to be better every day. The man’s heart is huge and when you add in all that charisma? Well, the man is simply lethal. Josie. I’ll admit to have some mixed feelings towards her going in to this book, but it didn’t take long before I ended up loving her. She’s sweet, sassy and has a golden heart, and watching as she took the steps to reconnect with her siblings and open herself up to new friendship and a huge, and nosey, family was a lot of fun.

The journey to Jed and Josie’s HEA was all kinds of sweet, smexy and even ovary exploding goodness. The connection between Jed and Josie jumped off the page from the moment they reconnected and I loved watching as they got to know each other again. Their bantering was fun, their heart to hearts made mine melt and the smexy was HAWT. Hail, Josie’s little boy, definitely helped push things along and had me smiling and laughing the entire time. There is a little roadblock in their road, something I guessed at early on, but one that was handled well and I love how everything turned out for them in the end.

I swear, with each book in this series I fall more and more in love with the Whiskey clan, the Dark Knights and all of the people they call their own, which makes it really hard to pick a favorite amongst all of these unique men and women, but that just goes to show what an amazing writer the author is and why I’m such a #fangirl. But as far as new characters, Diesel has definitely peaked my interest and I’m crossing my toes that he’ll be around more and then there is Dixie. I’ve loved this woman since first meeting her and thought I had an idea of which of the men would win her heart, but now I’m not so sure ~ the options have multiplied ~ so, I’m thrilled that her book is next and cannot wait to see who her forever is!

Josie Beckley caught my attention when I met her in the previous installment, Wicked Whiskey Love. I wanted to know her story, why she harboured so much anger towards her sister. When I learnt that Mad About Moonwould be her story I was on that baby like white on rice.

Josie is a widow and a single mom to a six-year-old boy. She grew up in an abusive environment, but she ran away and started a new life. This new life taught her how much she deserved to be loved. However, tragedy turned her life upside down and now she is down on her luck, homeless and living in a shelter.  She lost touch with her siblings, but fate brought her to the same town they lived. When she finally built up the courage to reconnect with them she reconnected not only with her siblings but also with Jed Moon, whom she never expected to see again.

Jed Moon has borne more than his fair share of pain and loss. He is a prospect for the Dark Knights, the biker group, who rescued him when his life was spiraling out of control.  Jed met Josie several years ago, but that one meeting made a lasting impression. He hoped he would once again see the girl who played a role in changing his life. So when Josie came looking for her siblings he saw this as the perfect opportunity to have her back in his life.

The sparks and chemistry, which burned between them years ago, was still alive.

Given their history, the pace at which the romance developed came as no surprise. I enjoyed every aspect of their romance, which I found to be sweet and spicy.

My first impression of Josie, which occurred prior to this installment, was not flattering. My opinion changed after learning of her past. Her doubts and fears leapt off the pages. The reasons for her anger towards her siblings became so much clearer, but it was misplaced. I loved that she tried to make amends even though she was fearful at first, a fear that grew out of guilt.

I adored Jed. He has a huge heart. The way he embraced Josie’s son spoke volumes. Then there were the moments with his mom and sister. Jed is one of those persons who cannot turn their backs on someone who needs help.  I loved how he treated his mom despite her treatment towards him and her sister, while growing up. Never once did he give upon her.

Mad About Moon is an emotional read which features a cast of wonderful characters.  I enjoyed how much they loved and supported each other. Their actions showed that family does not necessarily have to comprise of blood relatives. Family is all about having people you can count on to be there for you through thick and thin.

Conclusion/Recommendation

Another heart-warming story by Melissa Foster and a great addition to the series.  Fans of spicy, heartwarming stories will appreciate this latest offering from the Ms. Foster.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the fifth book in the series - and really I would recommend that you indulge in the whole goodness, and don't dip in here first ... but it is a fabulous story which will just have you going back to the beginning anyway! I didn't have time to reread the previous books, but still remembered enough to love watching this beautiful romance unfold.

Before I say more, I should suggest that you ensure you have a tissue to hand, and maybe consider reading this somewhere private - you would not want to be in a public place when the enormity of this hits you! Melissa Foster is incredibly talented at pulling at the heart strings, and making one tear up, so be warned!

Josie, Jed and Hail ... a nascent family which we can see as being the right way forward from very early on in this lovely book - but obviously nothing is quite that simple. Josie's still finding her way after her husband's death, but as the Whiskey clan close in to support her and her son, suddenly there is light in her future. Jed is a significant contributor to her positivity, but finding the strength to reconnect with her siblings is something that she knows she needs to do.

I loved that there were plenty of community events, so that we get to catch up with the rest of the Whiskey family. How Josie finds a closeness with her sister, and also Crystal, Dixie et al., finally releasing the darkness from her past. We also get some foreshadowing of who will be in line next to get their chance at an HEA.

Another beautiful story, thank you Melissa Foster. (even if I did need tissues!)
