This book was different than what I expected but in a good way. I was engaged from the very beginning and through out the story. Anxious for a follow up because the ending suggests that it’s about to get crazy with the street kings.
Waiiiit I had to come back and edit my review because I just figured something out 😳
Dope first read! This was my first read by this author and I was all in from the first page. This was the perfect urban fiction read because it had everything guns, drugs, sex, death and betrayal. I loved the Jamaican aspect also Reana was a boss bish for real. I especially loved how the playing cards played a big part in the storyline too. I think there something even bigger going on and I can’t wait to see how it plays out. I was so mad when I got near the end and was hoping more pages appeared because I need to know what happens next. Really enjoyed it.
This book was my introduction to this author and he definitely didn’t disappoint. If street literature is what you’re looking for, this is absolutely the book for you!
King of the Streets This is an awesome read! There are a lot of urban fiction streets tales of money and murder. This one is unique because we have levels and layers of criminal activity and expertise.
Chris “Cash” King is the heir and the hustle mind. Don is the finance department and Ace is security. The multifaceted monster called Street Kings was a force on the streets as they decorated towns with blood and bodies to spread their message of vengeance.
The graphics were sharp and added appeal the design of the book. If only the editing was as sharp as the graphics it would’ve been a 5 star 🌟 read. It’s one thing to read and decipher the Jamaican accents. It’s another thing to have to guess and translate what’s supposed to be English. Overall the story was great. It was so comprehensive that I could read a prequel and several sequels and not get bored. There were stories within the story. The plot was thick and beautifully detailed like a novel should be. I give it 🌟 🌟 🌟
Crime, crime and more crime. Cash, Trey, Ace and Don were living the gangsta life. They were into everything. If not then then someone that they were associated with. From selling drugs, trafficking, murder and racketeering the group did it all. However, there is a snitch among the group and things begin to unravel. Greed is the motive that causes a snake among the crew that does the unthinkable among his so call family. There were minor issues that slowed me down, such as the Jamaican language that i had a hard time deciphering and some grammatical errors. However I was still able to follow the story. Ready to read part2 to see how the story plays out. Cynthia Curry/Paperback Pusher
I do t really know how to feel. I just know the author did an amazing job of delivering a captivating story. There are so many characters I want to know more about. So many things left unsaid. One thing I took away from this book is that even the strongest crews have weak links.
This was my first my this author and I was not disappointed. It's gritty and pulls you in. I enjoyed the story which was about a group of guys that built a drug empire Cash, Ace, Don and Trey. If you're looking for murder, drugs and betrayal this is definitely a read to get into. I can't wait for part 2.
