Krista Street loves writing about coming of age characters who fight to find their place in this world while also finding their one true mate.
Krista Street is a Minnesota native but has lived throughout the U.S. and in another country or two. She loves to travel, read, and spend time in the great outdoors. When not writing, Krista is either chasing her children, spending time with her husband and friends, sipping a cup of tea, or enjoying the hidden gems of beauty that Minnesota has to offer.
Once again I don’t want to give any spoilers but I can tell you a few things! First abs foremost this is a novella style book within the Series. Technically starting its own series of shorter style books. These books follow the lost children in the real world. So a few years later the books pick up with our amazing family; except they are all living normal lives. The kids have all become a part of society, with regular jobs and packed college schedules. With Marcus out of the picture the kids are finally able to be themselves in the real world. Where it gets hairy is, will the kids be able to turn a blind eye to wrong doing in the real world. With their incredible skills and powers they can’t help but want to help others. We are also reunited to a horrific character from book one. I knew he would rear his ugly head again! I’m really sad that my reading experience of The Lost Children is coming to an end but happy I’m experiencing it.
No surprise here, once again this series proves it's worth. Tons of excitement in this! All our favorites are still together. Flint and Lena live together while going to college. All of them FINALLY have some semblance of a normal life. Lena also has a best friend Grace, who sadly she has to keep in the dark. All is fine until a serial woman rapist appears on campus. Coincidentally at the same time Lena spots someone with a pitch black cloud surrounding them. No way it's not the same person. But one to let this type of thing go, Lena and her family are determined to catch this person. Imagine their horror when they find a familiar face. Read all about this exciting adventure...you won't regret it!!! I for one can't wait for the next book!!!
While not to divulge anything to avoid any spoilers:
Good first book to a series .... the only downfall (for me, personally) was that, at times, it felt a little too "Twilight-y". Overall, though, the story was well written, the plot was engaging and believable, and the characters were enjoyable. It will be interesting to see/read the continuing story of the characters in this series.
In closing, I wish to state that I was given the ARC for this book from the author in exchange for an *honest* review. I also wish to thank the author for the opportunity to read such a contemporary and delightful book.
Great continuation to her previous series. Love how Lena and her family are trying the "real life" thing. I like how Street brought a previous enemy back in an unexpected way. I am glad that Lena is growing and has a best friend not affiliated with the family. It's great to see how the family is growing and trying to deal with things. I'm glad though they are staying low they are also not shying away from helping others. I received an ARC of this book and am leaving my honest review of the book. Can't wait to read the next installment.
It was so fun to revisit these characters after the main events of the first series! (If you're at all interested in this book, you should probably check out the lost children trilogy first) We got to see how relationships have evolved, how powers are being managed, and there are some crazy callbacks to that first series :0
Absolutely loved getting more time to spend with these characters and getting the chance to see how their lives have changed!
I absolutely loved The Lost Children books. When she decided to write more of their lives after they got free from Marcus, I was so excited! I am glad it started off with Lena. Guessing by the book cover for the pre-order, the next one will be Jacinda and/or Luke and I am anxiously awaiting it's release. I hope to continue to see more wonderful stories from this author.
Retribution by Krista Street is a 4 star read. This book grabbed my attention from the start, this is a new author and a whole new world for me and I loved it. The characters are well developed and the storyline flowed brilliantly. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
Loved it, the characters are great. The plot is exciting a d a little scary. The group stays together and proves family is who we choose. Loved it and highly recommend it
First off, you definitely have to read the first series. If you don't you'll be so baffled you'll put this book down. It's truly more the next book in that series rather than the start of a new one. Secondly, there are a couple consistency issues in the first 2 chapters, not big enough to mess with the story, buy big enough to make you go back and reread what you've just read.
Almost five stars – however it was not a long book and quite a quick read, so I felt it could have been fleshed out more. I did, though, enjoy the story and think that if you have read the preceding books, this will bring nice closure of a sort! Although this does carry on from the previous series, it is not necessary to have read them to understand and enjoy this book.
