She wants revenge.
But my wolf... he just wants her.

Sheridan

Audiobook: Narrator – Benjamin Sands
Mr. Sands does a great job with both the hero and heroine as well as the secondary characters. With his smooth, deep voice, he gave life to Trey especially. This is my second audio by this narrator and I struggled a bit before with his female voice, but this time I didn’t have the same issues and found this go round to be even more enjoyable. I’ll certainly be eager to listen to him again in the future.

description

Years ago, Sheridan ruined Trey’s life as well as those of his friends. They were thrown from the pack and left to pick up the pieces of their life. Now she’s been sent back into his life. Their past is present every time they interact, but through it all is the pull towards each other that they once shared.

This was a great first love/second chance audio. This couple had so much heartache from actions they both had taken in the past. I loved watching them work through not only those issues, but the conflicts they face now. With a lot of action, and plenty of time lapses to show us what and how everything went down when they were young, this kept me listening almost non-stop.

description

The relationship between Trey and Sheridan absolutely sizzles with sexual tension and when they act on their attraction my earbuds almost melted. My heart hurt for all they had been through and it did seem an almost insurmountable task for them to get beyond their past. This has some mystery to it that keeps things moving along and allows plenty of alpha goodness to rise up in Trey, which is my jam!

Overall, a very nice quick listen that stands alone.

This book had some flaws. Editing flaws that drove me nuts. Time hops that were sporadic and didn't make sense to the reader. Characters were not consistent and a little too juvenile for my taste. Yeah, not my favorite of the series.

I WORE YOUR MARK ALREADY—ON MY HEART

Alpha's Bane is a stand-alone second-chance shifter romance. No cheating or cliff-hangers. It will have people from the Phoenix and Tucson packs, along with issues with vampires. The story is full of emotions, angst, betrayal, heartache, young love, and second chances. It will bring Sheridan Green and Trey Robson back together after twelve years.

Sheridan and Trey were high school sweethearts. Where she comes from an Alpha lineage and has advantages, money, and a family with power, she never flaunts her family’s power. She works hard in school, and going to Stanford was her father’s pushing, not her own. Trey’s father kills a human and put him and his mother at the mercy of the pack, one that Green enjoys keeping a thumb on. He doesn’t see Trey as worthy of his daughter and his plans for her.

The plot will have Sheridan being sent to Tucson to investigate the Shifter Fight Club, which is being run by Trey, and not the pack. Her Alpha and father send her to see what she can do to shut it down, not realizing who is running it. Trey isn’t the young wolf who was banished from the pack, along with her cousin, Garret Green, and Jared. The three wolves moved to Tucson and developed a pack with Garrett as Alpha.

What a shock for Sheridan to come into Shifter Fight Club and there are not only shifters but leeches in attendance, this in itself is alarming. Once again, seeing Trey face to face brings back so many memories, some sweet and others painful. Twelve years is a long time, but she has never forgotten him, or him her.

The story will have Sheridan working between the shifters and vampires on a treaty to try and keep humans unaware of the paranormals around them. But when a human is found dead just outside of Shifter Fight Club, this has both sides uneasy. The death indicates a vampire, but the heat will be on all paranormals. Without Sheridan interference, the club is closed down during the investigation.

Each chapter will start with something from twelve years past between Sheridan and Trey and then move to the present day. Both of them feel they were betrayed twelve years prior with him breaking up with her and acting like it was time for him to move on and her turning three of them in for their drug deals. Now twelve years later, there are still mixed emotions between them, the hurt of the past, but also there is still simmering passion and sexual tension present.

“I don’t tell him that after we broke up, I examined my life. On the surface, I went to college and did everything to be the perfect she-wolf my parents raised me to be, but underneath, I was digging deep and discovering who I really was. I had Trey to thank, or blame, for the journey. He was the first wolf in my life who saw me, the real me, and loved me all the same. In the end, our relationship was a disaster, but also a gift. I had to give Trey up, but I found myself.”

A battle is coming within the paranormal worlds. Two shifters, high school sweethearts and lovers must also confront their past and decide their future. Will love win or will family rule? The story has plenty of sizzling scenes between Trey and Sheridan, some BDSM scenes they witness at a club, and also experience together.

This is my first read and review of Renee Rose and I hope to read more of her books. It's hot, sexy and a little bit of BDSM. The story entails a then and now storyline.
Sheridan and Trey are not mates although they are not marked. The story starts sixteen years ago. They belong to the Wolf Ridge Phoenix, wolf shifter pack. Sheridan is the niece of Alpha Green and her father's brother. Sheridan is also known as the perfect pack princess, homecoming queen, pack royalty and a straight-A student. She also works the upper office, at Wolf Ridge Brewery, with the rest of the pack royalty.
Trey Robson is the son of the pack omega, his mother. He is also the son of an alcoholic father. In the rating of the pack, his family is the lowest of the pack. He has no intention of going to college, even though doesn't listen during class, he aces exams. Trey and his mom work the factory floor at Wolf Ridge Brewery.
Sheridan and Trey are dating, even though her father dislikes Trey and the other wolf kids he runs around and parties with. They each know that they are mates but Trey hasn't marked her. She doesn't question why he won't even though they are sexually active while using protection.
Sheridan has applied to colleges and her father is pushing for her to go to Stanford in California. At this point her father talks to Trey and tells him to stay away from Sheridan because she's going to college and she needs to keep her mind on college not him. When Sheridan called Trey after she hadn't seen him all week she asked him to tell her what's really going on. He told her to meet him at our table. They meet and she asks him what is going on? He returns with, we should see other people since you're leaving for college at the end of summer. It's for the best.
The next time Sheridan sees Trey he has his arm around another girl and his hand on her ass. She then goes up to him shoves him in the chest and tells him, You'll regret this.
Days later Trey and friends are at their usual hangout and passing a blunt around when they are converged upon by police, arrested and in jail. A pack meeting is called where Alpha Green kicked Trey, Garrett and Jared out of the pack. Banished...

Hitting Their Five Star Stride!

Renee Rose and Lee Savino are one stellar writing duo! Fast paced and thoroughly engaging, “Alpha’s Bane” is another excellent addition to the “Bad Boy Alpha’s Series”. “Alpha’s Bane” thrusts the protagonists on a thrilling journey of discovery, second chances and relentless exhilaration. Readers of the series are provided with the origin story of Garrett’s pack, revealing a history of intrigue and misunderstanding. The story unfolds in the present, interwoven with the past to produce a fast-paced cohesive plot. The story-line is a roller-coaster ride of emotion from nearly unbearable anguish to the ever-important element of hope and includes several twists as well as turns along the way. The chemistry between the main characters (fated mates) is extraordinarily hot, kinky and extremely passionate. Secondary characters are also outstanding, making insightful contributions to the context and prior characters make situational appearances, delighting fans of the series. Although part of a series “Alpha’s Bane” reads as a standalone story.

“Alpha’s Bane” is an incredibly entertaining read but beware the series is highly addictive, and you may just find yourself hooked by such a talented writing duo!

I’ve loved so many books in Rose and Savino’s long-running series, and Alpha’s Bane started off as no exception to that. I really enjoyed the way the story moved from Trey and Sheridan’s past to their present, from the time of their youthful, idyllic, and ultimately shattered love to today’s strong and yet incomplete people. That Sheridan was as alpha as Trey was a great touch (yet Trey wasn’t the alpha of alphas in his pack, which meant he knew when to step back as well). So I loved what I was reading, up until about the 60% point.

At this stage, there’s a scene that so threw me out of this heretofore-gripping book that I couldn’t pick it up and start reading again for several days. I’d open the book back up to this one scene, and I’d have to shut it again. Why? Because Trey and Sheridan, at a vampire club where they’re supposed to be casing and checking things out, do something so utterly unexpected, so incongruous in its workings, so inconsistent with the characters’ history, and so not-hinted-at in any way up to that point that I just couldn’t accept that I was reading what I was reading. And to top it off, the action didn’t make sense considering what their responsibilities were at that moment of the plot.

I was really astonished at how strongly this scene bothered me, and how much I struggled with the book after that. Yes, Trey descends into old patterns and has to be made to see that his past is not his future, while Sheridan moves forward in a manner that was wonderful to see. But all their actions post that scene were questionable to me; they were built on an unsteady foundation.

It’s tough to rate this book, as up until the Scene That Shall Not Be Named, I loved this book in all ways. But a book-stopper scene is something I hate to encounter, and alas, Alpha’s Bane had one for me.

BTW, this is part of a long-running series, and I highly suggest you read the books in order. Otherwise, the situation with Trey’s pack and his relationship with Sheridan’s family will be difficult to understand.

Trey and Sheridan. They were high school boyfriend/girlfriend, but Trey was made to break up with her by her father so that she can go to Stanford and Trey and his mother can stay in the pack.
12 years later they meet over vampire problem.

Bad Boy Alphas, Book 9. Can the princess and the fighter save anyone, even themselves?

Has it really been 16 years? Betrayed by their pack “princess,” Trey followed Garrett and the other young pups from Phoenix to Tucson. No one expected the Tucson pack to survive. But they’ve not only survived—they’ve thrived. When Trey sets up Fight Club, it certainly draws attention…the wrong kind. The entire pack’s now on the FBI and CIA’s radar. And now vampires have shown up? All this gets back to the Phoenix pack, where their Alpha (Garrett’s dad) sends Sheridan Green to investigate and shut down Fight Club. When Sheridan struts in decked out to the nines, no one’s more shocked than she when she finds Trey Robson—except Trey himself. You see, it wasn’t just Sheridan who betrayed Trey and the others. He also betrayed her. But Trey and Sheridan’s issues have to take a back seat when Lucius arrives. Bearing a treaty marking territory for wolves and vampires alike, can Lucius be trusted? Can any vampire? On the eve of the treaty signing, the worst that could happen does, putting Fight Club, the treaty, the entire future of the Tucson pack on the line. Who did this? Why? As Trey and Sheridan fight their chemistry and each other, they both know they have to find the answers. How? Each step puts both in more and more danger. As Sheridan’s life hangs in the balance, Trey realizes he has decisions to make. Should he save her? There’s far more than her life at stake. Suddenly everything comes into focus. Only, is it too late? Has Sheridan been sacrificed and everything lost?

Renee Rose and Lee Savino are the dynamic duo of shifter romances. They’re both incredibly talented authors on their own, but when you put them together, you have dynamite. I absolutely loved this story. While this is a standalone book in the series, we have met Trey and the rest of the Tucson pack before. This time Trey is front and center. We finally learn just who and what he is. A shifter, a fighter, capable, hot, sexy, and so much more. Is it any wonder Sheridan fights her attraction to him? And Sheridan? Strong, yet so conflicted on so many levels. Daddy’s little princess vies with the MBA overachiever and again with the chemistry with Trey. Her entire world’s been turned upside down. I love these two! But this book wouldn’t be complete without the cast of supporting characters. As I’ve stated before, I love vampires. Without Lucius and his minions, this story wouldn’t have worked. Add in the entirety of the Tucson and Phoenix packs, and you have the perfect blend of spicy and savory to complete the recipe. This book is fantastic! Renee Rose and Lee Savino have again hit it out of the park. Congratulations, ladies! This book absolutely deserves five stars!

A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Please use these resources. I urge you to leave a review, but with a proviso. Please don’t leave a negative review when you know you won’t enjoy the book. It's not fair to the authors. They work hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to a book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the authors an extreme disservice.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

Alpha’s Bane is the ninth book in the Bad Boy Alphas series, but can completely stand alone. Sheridan and Trey were an unlikely high school couple, she a pack princess and he with a low ranking family, but they were torn apart by their own hurtful actions. Years later, Sheridan has come to infiltrate Trey’s Fight Club, to understand why there’s vampires around, and to maybe even find closure with Trey. But she has a tendency to get into dangerous situations and soon she has a vampire lusting after her, and her only savior is Trey, who still hates her. Except his wolf doesn’t. Will Fight Club offer a second chance for Sheridan and Trey, or will they get in each other’s ways again?

Wow! I swear, this series is just amazing and keeps getting better and better. I loved Trey and Sheridan! I loved how much they sacrificed for each other and how much they wanted to fight for one another in the end. Most of the chapters start off with a flashback to their high school years, which I loved, and they had an explosive beginning and an even stronger right now. Sheridan was feisty, but honestly still trying to figure out who she was on the inside. I loved that she was an all alpha female, able to stand on her own and defend herself, talk with head vampires and was totally cool with working the bar, but also had a really vulnerable side of just wanting to be loved and accepted. Trey was full of sacrifice and anger, but really came into his own being and knew what he wanted, even if he was fighting against it. I loved how even when he didn’t quite trust her, he only wanted to protect and love Sheridan! I loved the vampires and the direction that all took in this story and once I started this book, it was really difficult to put down to go about my day when needed! This has just been an amazing book and series by two phenomenal authors!

I love this series. Yes, I have been keeping up with it, but you can read this one as a standalone.

We finally get Trey's story and what a story it is.

Trey has been in love with the same girl since high school. But to save his mother and himself he walked away from everything he ever knew to protect them all.

Sheridan has loved Trey since the moment she met him. But she had a bright future and her parents didn't want her to screw it all up for a boy. So when Trey broke up with her for no reason she figured it had to do with that. But when he disappeared and she had no other choice but to go to school, Sheridan made the most of it.

Years later they meet again. But will they let the same mistakes happen? Or will they finally admit they are fated to be mated and put their past behind them?

Who’s the alpha now

This writing duo is at it again with the much anticipated story of Trey. Unlike the other books, this one has a back story element. Where most authors struggle with this style of writing, these two shined. The flow of the story is so smooth that each flashback is seamless and really adds an emotional aspect of the story that adds depth. I love how Trey always puts others first and how his lady love finally stands up for what she wants and who she is. This book has a fantastic HEA that wouldn’t have happened without the wonderful story designed to draw us to it. I can’t wait to see where these authors take this series and witch alpha will find redemption next.

This book explains so much. I’ve read stories in the Wolf Ridge High series and the Midnight Doms series, but always felt like I was missing just a little bit of essential background information. Now I’m starting to see the bigger picture. From the moment I first met Trey I wanted to know the rest of his story. There was just something about him that caught my attention and called to me; this knight in battered leather on shining chrome. Sheridan was a little more ‘hit or miss’ for me. My heart hurt for the pretzels she twisted herself into, but I couldn’t believe she would doubt and betray Trey in the way she had. I loved seeing this pair of star-crossed lovers get a second chance, though. That made just about everything right in my world.

A stand alone read that kept me intrigued.
The two main characters knew each other when they were younger and were from two different economical standings. They fell in love but were pushed apart without complete knowledge of what was actually happening.
Years later they are brought back together under different circumstances and things start off rough.
Then there are problems that force them to put the past aside which means....Yep...they start to feel and fighting those old feelings can be annoying yet cute.
I thought the author did a good job in presenting her story despite grammar errors etc.
For me it's easily overlooked because the story keeps the focus.
A nice addition to the Bad Boy Alphas!

He may be a MMA wolf shifter - but she holds the leash
Until he makes her wear it!
OMG this series gets better and better. And this one just tipped the scales into being on my 'Favourite Of All Time' list!
The way that Trey and Sheridan have always loved each other but their relationship has a few ups and downs - blinking heck they're mountains - and now if only they can forgive each other then maybe everyone else will too .....one day.
I had a great night reading this book. I snuggled down under my warm blanket with my cat and my kindle and just enjoyed this book so much.
Go on - read this book and see how much Trey and Sheridan's story is worth it

This is a second-chance romance between a non-alpha and an alpha’s daughter. I enjoyed the alpha personality but the fact that he was the son of one of the lowest pack members and for this reason him and the heroine had so many challenges to overcome - then and even now. It’s a sweet romance with plenty of heat that had a meaningful and enjoyable plot. I am excited for the next one to bring answers as well as be about a grizzly bear shifter.

I'm a huge fan of Renee Rose and book 2 in the Shifter Fight Club series didn't disappoint. I went into this one slightly nervous since I knew Trey wasn't an Alpha from book 1, but Renee depicted him in such a way, you didn't realize he wasn't.
I enjoy the contemporary shifter world the author has created and all the dynamics of the main characters and supporting cast. I also like getting glimpses of previous characters in book 1.
I highly recommend this series and anything by author Renee Rose.

Sheridan is just ok. She's has no self esteem whatsoever. Boring.

We get to see what happened 12 years ago between Trey and Sheridan with flashbacks, but we are firmly in the present. I really liked both of these characters and think this is a great addition to the series.

Great Shifter and Vampires story

In this story we see a little more of the vampires, in earlier stories there were vampires, but they didn't really get involved in the story in this one the vampires are involved. In this story we have Trey and Sheridan and how they have a second chance at love. Nice HEA. Great story.

And another GREAT read from Renee Rose and Lee Savino!

The Bad Boy Alphas series is a brilliant shifter series that you seriously do NOT want to miss! The books can be read separate - but I highly recommend starting at book 1, because the characters do interact in several of the books and cross and cameo each other - so you will probably feel a bit lost if you don't. :)

Sheridan is a strong female alpha she-wolf, but she's sadly got what I like to call: "Daddy's good girl syndrome". It means that she spends far too much time trying to please her father - so much so that she's risking the love of her life getting away forever.

Trey is not an Alpha - but he's far from a pushover. Sadly our beloved male has some serious insecurities about himself and struggles a bit with his self-worth.
That tends to happen when your dad's a shit head wife-beating criminal - and your mother and you end up taking the brunt of it. Add in Sheridan's dad pushing his weight around and you're all set.

Now they meet again and sparks fly. Tention is high and so is the hurting and hongry feelings.

Trey belongs to a different pack than Sheridan and he runs the shifter fight club. He's doing quite well for himself and has come a long way since he's high school days.

The pack has a truce with the "leeches" in the area - otherwise known as the Vampires. Lucius (isn't it interesting how this is such a popular Vampire name??? hmmm...) Frangelico is the Vampire King on these parts (probably in the US as he's VERY old) and our couple needs to work together to try and prevent a war with the Vampires.

This book has got hawtness in spades - some happy spanking, dark bdsm dungeon (mwahahah) that makes your toes curl a little, it's got pack drama, creepy Vampires and a well deserved HEA.

4* from me! It's not the best in the series - but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I also love the series in general.

Ok this was bad. Really, really bad. I hate to say this because I love this series, but I cringed my way through it.

I’m not the biggest fan of second chance stories where’s there’s a shit ton of angst from the very first page, so I was apprehensive but willing to be surprised. 5 minutes into the book they’re fighting and I was like ughhh… Gotta suffer through this and soon they’ll talk and work things out, and it will be better.

Except it kept getting worse. They never actually talked things out but started doing a public bdsm scene on enemy territory. What the f?! It made no sense, it was so reckless. Then they go home and he marks her, it was actually a lovely scene where they finally were a bit honest and raw (this should have been their first intimate scene, not that weird one in the vampire club) and I thought FINALLY this couple is going to start working together.

Except no. The very next day, Trey starts freaking out that he’s not good enough for her and he should ignore her for her own good. This couple was so toxic. Trey had this Madonna Whore complex with her where he thought she was this perfect pact princess destined for better things. But him trying to decide her life for her because of it was so controlling and disrespectful. Sheridan didn’t respond well to him being an ass (to be fair, I wouldn’t either) and would respond to being hurt by trying to hurt him back. They were awful together.

We had a cringy scene of the worst pep talk ever between Trey and Jared. I was expecting Jared to dispense some wisdom and help his friend figure out he was hurting Sheridan by trying to stay away from her. Nope. Instead we got “stop moping around and go have sex with her” to which Trey was like “thanks buddy, I feel better!” WTF.

I thought ok although this was amazingly dumb, at least they’ll make up now? Nope. Trey’s internal monologue just kept going round and round in circles,, flip flopping between “I want her” to “I have nothing to offer her” a million times. It was so tedious and repetitive.

The sex scenes hit all my ick words and actions. What I previously like most about the sex in this series is that it involved dominance without being officially BDSM. For me, the use of all the paraphernalia and terms takes me out of the moments. But in this book, they went full BDSM with spanking benches and hanging crosses, collars, and calling their lovemaking “doing a scene together”. It honestly took all the emotion and even hotness right out of it, making the sex scenes feel clinical snd cringy. The best one was the flashback of their first time because it didn’t have all that crap…

I actually liked the flashbacks and thought it was clever how the story of what happened was slowly peeled back, piece by piece. But it was frustrating that in the present, they never talked about what went down and kept repeating the past over and over.

I also did not like the vampires at all. They were sickly sweet, saccharine, fake and manipulative. Faux gentlemanly and backstabbing. Learning they’re into public whipping in BDSM clubs was just gross to me. There is a book coming up with the vampire Lucius, and it’s the “soft pilot” into an entire vampire spin off series. Even though I’m usually completionist about book series, I think I’ll have to skip all those vampire books. I just can’t see myself enjoying any of them. Since just 1 book ago I thought this author could do no wrong and was dying to read everything she’s every written, things have taken a bad turn.

The epilogue was the cringiest shit I’ve ever read. By that time I was well done with the book and ready to move on, yet still had to suffer through one last BDSM butt sex scene (seriously, what’s with the anal sex in the last 3 books?) but not before the cringiest scene where Sheridan gives Trey a collar and she thinks he’s proposing. And he’s like “that’s ludicrous, no I just wanted butt sex!” and she’s all “thank god because I’m not ready either!”… even though she’s already bitten which is more forever than marriage for shifters.

And do the book ends with “lolz no of course we wouldn’t marry, we’re the least functional couple you can imagine!” And instead replace the emotional intimacy and plans for the future with a “I own you” moment. Lovely.

Ughhhh… This book pissed me off so much because I didn’t want to hate it like that! I feel disappointed and almost betrayed by the authors. I really hope the next book is better!

Sheridan Green has loved Trey for over twelve years
This standalone second chance at love and all that involves for Sheridan Green and Trey Robson two wolf shifters, they have been in love since childhood and have been apart for over twelve years but now they are working together to solve murders being blamed on Shifter Fight Club.
They were high school sweethearts, they are from opposite ends of the track although initially in the same pack. Sheridan is from Alpha royalty and he is the son of a brewery worker. The plot has Sheridan being sent to Trey’s club to discover if the vampires are responsible for the dead humans being found with bites on their necks and wrists etc…. Which is obviously drawing attention to the secret world of shifters and supernatural beings, where any attention could blow their individual worlds wide open.
Trey, Jared and Garrett are no longer the young wolf shifters banished from the pack and they had all worked together and built up a lucrative business in Tucson where they have developed their own pack with Garrett as the pack Alpha.
The story has Sheridan working between the shifters and vampire’s community in an effort to ensure that a treaty can be drawn up and adhered to, humans have no knowledge of the Shifter Fight Club or the fact that there are vampires living within the community. It also now appears that the vampires have been leaving dead victims with obvious signs of bites and this has closed the club down.

Unusually the book starts chapters with something from twelve years past when Sheridan and Trey were together, it then moves to the present day when they have grown up and have gone their own way after being thrown out of the pack and have succeeded through hard work and good investment.
Trey believes that Sheridan went to college and did everything that was expected of her as the daughter of Alpha Green what he has no idea of is that she has not been with another male in twelve years and also Trey has remained loyal to her as his wolf had decided all those years ago that she was his mate, if he couldn’t have her as his mate, he would remain unmated.
A battle is coming within the paranormal worlds and two high school sweet hearts and lovers will be forced to confront their past and be brave enough to fight for their future, their love and for the rest of the pack that is relying on the culprits that are killing humans are brought out into the open and prosecuted.
They are playing to win because the thought of losing could bring about the very downfall of shifters and more importantly it could be the demise of their way of life…….
I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Normally I try to avoid second chance romances but since this is part of the order of the book I wound up reading it, plus I would never skip a book if I start a series. I only do this if I know for sure it won’t add any value to the current series and I’ll set it aside to read as a standalone later on. This one changed my expectations and instead is filled with lots of angst, betrayal and longing. This came from both Sheridan as well as Trey. The majority of the book focuses on them both starting off on opposite sides and then coming together as Sheridan’s expectations and thoughts of Trey change drastically as the book goes on. She finds out that her family isn’t what they seem and accepts Trey the way he is, realizing that she was in the wrong this whole time. Meanwhile, Trey was still struggling to be worthy of her and also in accepting himself. He didn’t feel like he was of value to her and because of what was hammered into his head as he grew up, he had low self esteem. I didn’t get this at all with him when I started this series, he always came across as confident and cocky but this book explores him in a deeper level and you have a whole different perspective of him. At first I didn’t like Sheridan, I didn’t know what her angle was but then she grew on me throughout the book. What was different and enjoyable about this one was the fact that this wasn’t purely sexually driven. It focuses on how Sheridan and Trey’s relationship started off when they were teens and ultimately how they ended and it meshes what happened in the past to what is manifesting presently. I loved this insight and it helped me gain a better understanding of the pack that kicked Garrett and Trey out as well as the dynamics. On top of that, you get more mingling with vampires and how they are dealt with as well as how they act. Now I see why Lucius’ story is included in this series which will be different. There was a lot going on in this book, but I felt like I understood it and it wasn’t too jumbled and all over the place. It helped push this story in the 5 rating because not only do you get the romance and intimacy of Sheridan and Trey’s relationship, but also what goes on at the fight clubs and with vampires. I’m happy we finally stepped away from the Data-X stuff and are now focusing on more supernatural things and the inner workings. I’m curious how Grizz’s story goes as I’m sure there’s a deeper thing with that.
