When Georgia turns up at Sloan ranch as the owner’s latest betrothed, Aaron knows he must do something before she meets a sticky end. Facing down the enormity of Sloan’s forces, Aaron enlists the help of the foreman to help him execute a plan.
But what chance do two men stand against hundreds?
"Her Long Lost Cowboy" is a historical western romance novel of approximately 80,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
Evelyn Boyett grew up on a farm outside Topeka, Kansas. Evelyn spent most of her youth climbing trees, riding horses, swimming and fishing in her daddy's pond.
When Evelyn wasn't reveling in the great outdoors she enjoyed watching Black Spurs and Gunfight at Comanche Creek at her grandmother's house.
Evelyn married her childhood sweetheart Spencer Boyett right out of high school. After majoring in English Lit at the University of Chicago, Evelyn came back home to Kansas and had two adorable children.
Evelyn enjoys sitting in a lawn chair with a glass of peach tea, penning her latest novel while her boys play rousing games of Cowboys and Indians.
She currently lives outside of Lenexa, Kansas and still enjoys watching old Deforest Kelley films in her spare time.
The book did start out a little slow, but after a short while I really got invested in the characters. I loved the storyline, and the characters in the book. The book was very well written, action packed and full of suspense. There was some course language in the book, but very light in comparison to most you read now days. I loved the outcome of the book, and look forward to reading more books from this author.
Aaron and Georgia met in the orphanage when he was ten and she was seven. Years later he told her that he was leaving and would return for her. Due to untoward attention from the man running the orphanage, Georgia left and married someone else. A few months into the marriage, he was killed when he attempted to choke her to death. She met Mr. Sloan in the dress shop she was working in and agreed to marry him and made the trip to his ranch before their marriage. She realized that Aaron was one of the ranch hands gathered to meet them on their arrival.
While this book started a little slowly for me, it definitely became a page turner. The plot was well developed, as were the characters. I enjoyed this book as it wasn't the typical storyline. I really enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading more from Ms. Boyett
I thoroughly reading this GREAT book about two children that grew up in an orphanage following each of their parents death. Aaron leaves the orphanage first and heads west to make a living for himself. SHE leaves a few years later to begin her life's journey. They meet a few years later under ENTIRELY different and difficult circumstances.
I think the idea of the plot was good, but the writing fell apart at the climax. The final showdown was inane and would never happen. The main characters were well written, but the antagonist and his cronies were stereotypical. There are portions of the story that are absolutely boring, which forced me to scan read. I won't do that if the book can hold my attention which this one failed to do.
This book is listed as clean western historical romance, however I would not call it clean! The language is atrocious! I got to the 2nd chapter and deleted it because of the language! To bad because the story line sounded good!
Even though I really like the book, the characters and the plot, a star was lost for very poor editing, some incomprehensible word choices, etc. I will still happily read Ms. Boyett's books, however.
I had a little trouble getting into this story but eventually got hooked. It has a good story line and character building could be a bit better but you eventually do get that bond. I loved the ending of the story and recommend it to ones who love this genre.
I chose to read and review this book. I liked the book very much. I loved their meetings and interactions with each other. Everything was well written. The sparks and care were visible between them. I recommend this one
This was such a great story to read. I could not believe that someone could be do hurtful. The story has a lot of twists and turns in it but oh so fantastic.
Georgia Drake and Aaron Compton's story kept me on the edge of my seat I had to know how it was going to turn out. There is suspense, drama, a second chance, and Sanford a villain, A good story I enjoyed reading.
