Making Designer Bead and Wire Jewelry: Techniques for Unique Designs and Handmade Findings

Rate this book
Jewelry making is one of the most popular craft trends, and its audience continues to grow. Few jewelry books on the market emphasize the importance of the design relationship between beads, wire, and jewelry findingsùthe ônuts and boltsö of any piece. This book will show not only how to design and build your own spectacular jewelry out of beads and wire but how to design and create your own findings as well.
Most jewelry making books are geared for the beginner and provide little information for intermediate to advanced jewelry makers. Making Designer Bead and Wire Jewelry contains illustrated how-to techniques, full-color project photos, project instructions, and numerous tips that enhance the styles and skills presented. Intermediate and advanced jewelry makers will learn new techniques for creating signature elements for their designs, while beginners will get a handle on honing their skills.

Not the most attractive projects, but great detailed instructions for making basic elements. Nice alternatives to buying findings.

Compared to other bead and wire jewelry books I've read, this one could have been better. The projects were rather simple. There was little new here. This book would be good for a beginning beader. The introduction on tools and materials was okay, with a peculiar emphasis on using a jig. Oh, and surprise, the guy who invented this particular jig has a fair amount of his work shown in this book! The best part of the book is the gallery section which showcases work from other artists.

A lot of the same. I think I prefer buying findings for the most part.
