Yellowstone was not an ordinary volcano. It was a cannon of immense size, equal in destructive capability to all of mankind's nuclear weapons - combined. It was quite frankly, Earth's greatest killer.
The Yellowstone Series, a new disaster thriller from critically acclaimed author, Bobby Akart, takes the reader on a thrill ride as a cataclysmic event of extinction level proportions ticks away like a time bomb, awaiting its moment. Millions of people visit the Yellowstone National Park every year blissfully unaware they are on top of the greatest killer man has ever known - the Yellowstone Supervolcano.
Modern man had studied the eruption and aftermath of volcanos on our planet for two centuries, but in the past one hundred years, scientific equipment allowed them to predict the environmental impact. When assessing the fallout of the fourth major eruption of the Yellowstone Supervolcano, the prediction models were wrong.
No part of our planet will be left untouched by the fallout. Those who weren't incinerated by the eruption will be poisoned by the gas or succumb to the ash mixing with the fluids within their bodies. For those lucky enough to survive the direct effects of the eruption, they were subject to starvation and dysentery as the ash fallout created a volcanic winter.
And then, there was the threat of their fellow man.
Know this. The eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano will be more than a spectacle to grab our attention. It will be the end of the world as we know it.
ABOUT THE YELLOWSTONE SERIES
Volcanoes are the Earth's way of letting off steam. While most people look at volcanic eruptions as natural disasters, the fact of the matter is, without them, the Earth would explode. Deep beneath the surface of the planet, excess heat builds up, finding a way to vent. Like an overcrowded bus on a hot summer day, the overheated magma stews in its own madness, allowing pent-up frustrations to boil over, until it releases its fury - its HELLFIRE - upon the world above.
Yellowstone is the most potentially explosive, violent, deadly, active volcano on our planet and scientists agree, a catastrophic eruption is inevitable. Yellowstone is extraordinary in its potential and is quite simply, Earth's greatest killer. You've been warned.

The Yellowstone caldera is one of the biggest threats to mankind. One that could erupt at any time and put the survival of every living creature at risk of extinction. But the eruption of the massive volcano is not the only thing that is a threat to Jake and Ashby as they make their way to California and hopefully the safety of Mad House owned by Jake’s parents and then on to Saratoga. No, the ugly side of man has started to show. Those who haven’t prepared for an emergency are getting hungry and are looking for supplies and then there are those who are just out for themselves and just want to take what isn’t theirs. The action starts and never lets up in this, the third book in the series. The excitement of following along with Jake and Ashby is breath holding worthy and heart stopping at times as they fight for their lives against the degenerates that will stop at nothing to gain what they want. No place seems safe now and finding a safe haven seems like a dream but the two of them keep on going to where they hope to finally find security. Will they finally be able to let down their guard when they reach Fruitvale West, a gated community where Jake’s parents had lived, or will it have to be just another stopping ground for them? Time will tell but by the looks of things there, not is all as it seems… I absolutely loved this addition to the series and how Bobby Akart portrays everything so realistically. This is not just an entertaining story, it shows us what we need to do and look out when the shtf and hopefully be able to survive another day. Thank you Bobby for such an exciting series that has kept me up long hours into the night until I turned that last page! I am so looking forward to the final book and then to the next adventure you take us all on!
Way too much political nonsense in this book. It was part of the 2nd book, but not as much. Such a let down to see the characters loose their sense of self and basically go around killing people left and right and stealing all over the place .
As Jake and Ashby finally reach The Mad House, what they hope will be their safe haven from Mother Nature’s wrath, they find not is all as it seems in this little piece of paradise. Bobby Akart spins a tale that will keep you awake at night and keep you glued to the news for any strange activity in Yellowstone. The more you learn the more you realize that there may well be no escape from this monster that lives and breaths under our feet.
As the world begins to realize that the end of the world could truly happen, Jake and Ashby are doing their best to stay one step ahead. The paradise Jake knew as a child is suddenly being destroyed. Even with the help of the close knit community of Maple Creek the devil volcano is creeping into and over their way of life.
The government begins to fail the state and releases it’s prisoners into society and worse fails to properly keep the worst of the worst from escaping and bringing death and destruction to the area. Jake and Ashby drive right into this nightmare. But even as Jake protects Ashby the worst is yet to come.
As Jake and Ashby realize the have to leave The Mad House and Maple Creek behind and move to another home owned by Jake’s parents in Fruitvale West California, they hope and pray that Fruitvale West will be the perfect suburban community to take up residence in. As the two heros move south trying to escape the onslaught of ash and death, they find that this ideal of suburban living has become an armed camp with Jake and Ashby being the outsiders while the residents fight for power and control in this tiny enclave that should be a safe place. But as they come to find out safe is only in the eyes of the strongest and toughest. Death continues to follow the pair as they try to find a place to ride out the end of the world as we know it.
Bobby Akart has done it again. He has you glued to the pages of Yellowstone: Fallout and praying that Jake and Ashby are able to survive the monster that is trying to kill our world. Mother Nature is beautiful but can be a mean task master who does not like to be messed with.
The real question is, where will Jake and Ashby survive, is Mexico the answer or must they go much farther into the unknown to survive. I can not wait for the next chapter in this series. Without a doubt Bobby Akart has hit it out of the park again with the Yellowstone series.
Book 3 in the series continues to follow Jake and Ashby as they try to settle into Jake's parents old vacation cabin in NoCal only to find out its too far north with the fallout expected to bury this area in a couple feet, making life unlivable.
So they head south to Fruitvale, CA, Jakes' childhood home, and boy, the locals in this neighborhood are fruity.
I liked the book, but its the least favorite of the 3 as it deals less with Yellowstone and its global and local impact, and more about surviving, adjusting and escaping crazy locals.
Likes: Tense moments throughout the book when Jake and/or Ashby ran into conflict.
Dislikes: The secondary characters could have been better, and the story could have been written from their point of view, instead of sticking with Ashby and Jake all the time.
This book was fast paced. I started reading and then I was done. Have to admit. I stayed home and read. Totally worth it.
Book three, we know what's going on, but the people they encounter....it makes the book exciting, frustrating and I want to scream "What is wrong with you?"
Fav quote: didn't realize it until I read it but it sums up apocalyptic fiction stories. “Were you ready to kill them all?” “Yeah, in the heat of the moment, I guess I was. Jake, here’s the way I look at it. As each day passes, the rules no longer apply. If you live by the rules, you starve or get killed. Plain and simple.”
Great book and a great series, not to miss, if you are interested in what could happen if the Yellowstone erupts! Hairraising reading. Highly recommended.
Predicted, feared, the end of the world as we know it has arrived. The Yellowstone Super Volcano has erupted, thrusting tons of ash and poisonous gases into the upper atmosphere!
Jake Wheeler and Ashby Donovan's had grown close in their frantic flight ahead of the wrath of Yellowstone's eruption. Pursued by falling volcanic ash, clouds of poisonous gases and the worst detritus of humanity, they had made their way to Jake's family cabin on the Mad River in northern California. The 'cabin' was fully stocked and provisioned and would support them until they could grow their own provisions. All they needed now was an erupting volcano to quit erupting and quit pumping tons of ash into the atmosphere.
Furious flight from certain death leaves little opportunity to become acquainted, let alone forming attachments, but if our characters can manage it, I reckon we can too. Very easily managed actually, the characters are close friends and family. Like people we've known all our lives, Jake and Ashby are everything we wish we were. The storyline explodes through the pages like a super volcano, and the action is quick and dynamic. This series has given me several sleepless nights, with action keeping me glued to the pages until I arrived at the final cliffhanger!
I can heartily recommend this book and this series! Realistic action and believable dialogue keep your attention riveted. This series is a must read!
Book 3 = Yellowstone = This part of the Yellowstone Supervolcano eruption starts in northern California at Mad House along Mad River at Jake's family's summer home. Jake and Ashley learn the ash and poison gases fallout has nearly encompassed the earth. They are packing the camper to travel further southwest to his father's home when a family of a father and his three sons plan to steal the camper. The four are captured and threatened with saturate released. Jake and Ashley head south. As the ash starts falling the Governor decided to release the prison convicts to fend for themselves. A group of nine very dangerous inmates escape and set up a road block for vehicles. Two leave but the remaining seven start to kill the passengers in the stopped cars. Jake gets out of his blocked camper to antagonize the inmates into fighting by shooting tires on the stopped cars. They attack and are killed. Jake and Ashley continue their journey south thru road blocked and arrive at his father's home. Conflicts ensue but they escape again to the coast and then in a sea worthy boat while being chased. A worthy survivalist story which is continued in book 4 at sea being chased.
I was expecting the usual apocalyptic BS about everyone comong together to overcome the odds and somehow survive. This was a pleasant surprise. FALLOUT treats humans under adverse conditions as we really are: greedy, selfish, tribal and murderous. Let's be honest, and let's pay attention to what's going on in Washington DC this very day in response to the coronavirus. To hell with the little guy, let's stack the relief programs in favor of the 1%, if minorities are hurt most, well - they should have done better to start with. I got mine... to hell with you! Oh, by the way, here's $1200 to shut you up. That should pay maybe half of one half of one half of the power, water, food and rent for a month. Health Insurance? HA! Sick leave? HA! Housing? HA! I could add a few Anglo-Saxon epithets here but I won't. Mr. Akart strips back the nanometer-thick veneer of "civilization" to remind us, in thankfully brief prose, what was said long ago by T.S. Eliot:
This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but with a whimper.
So far I have enjoyed the series. I enjoy the apocalyptic survival genre very much and this series has filled that need for me very nicely. This series explores the possibility that the Yellowstone caldera may erupt and what that might mean for those who survive. It has been a thrill ride to read it thus far, and I look forward to reading the final installment, Survival. If you're looking for an enjoyable page turner in the post apocalyptic genre, this is the series for you. I think everyone at some point has considered what may happen if Yellowstone erupts. These books give you the opportunity to explore what that may mean for us from the comfort of your favorite chair.
The book starts out with the seventh day of the eruption, noting everything within a hundred miles of the eruption has died. There would be the pyroclastic flow which would bury everything and everyone in its range. There would also be poison gases and a sulfuric acid mist.
It also has scenes with small town people trying to defend what little they have against looters. There are also questions of what to do with people who are in jails and prisons when there is probably little adequate transportation to get them somewhere else.
The transportation system is shutting down and utilities are failing. So Jake and Ashley need to somehow survive long enough to find a way to get a lot further away.
Jake & Ashby make it to Jake’s parent’s vacation house. They find a note saying his parents are headed to New Zealand. They don’t stay long. Ashby finds out the eruption is expected to continue for at least a week and the heavy, deadly ash-fall is headed towards them. They take a RV and head further south to his parent’s home. When they reach the gated community, they find residents are in control and not very friendly. It’s definitely not a democracy. As the ash catches up to them, life gets heated and they leave heading toward a 60ft yacht. They head out of the dock and head south. Will this become their home sweet home?
Fast paced with plenty of action. Ashby and Jake have arrived at the Madhouse. Another long trip to hopefully a safer area brings more danger to the pair. As they strive to survive, they face many physical and moral challenges. Bobby Akart manages to bring fiction to life with his words, and a healthy dose of reality. We have all seen the destruction and evil that man can do all in the name of survival. Just look at the aftermath of Katrina, or any other Natural Disaster. This is another masterpiece from Bobby Akart.
This has been a very good series so far. This book had less of the science as prior books and even though the eruption has started, there should be plenty of science for that as well. Ashby seemed to be less forthcoming with warning the locals near Mad River than I would have expected, though eventually that happened. There was a lot of excitement with this book particularly with the less than helpful HOA. I don't know if there is a book 4 or if they are simply riding off into the sunset, but this has been a good set of books (and I like the various charts etc).
This is a 4-book series that MUST be read in order! Each of the first 3 books ends in a cliff hanger. It's a great read... unless you can't take the heat (pun) after Yellowstone does its thing.
This series is a nonstop thriller that takes you on a journey for survival following an apocalyptic event. There are massive amounts of real information regarding geology and insights into psychological and sociological effects of massive disasters. I already have several more of Akart's books in my Kindle Library.... I like his style and appreciate his knowledge of his subject.
I have now finished all four books in the Yellowstone series. I have read in order, pretty much one after the other. I recommend that is how they should be read to keep up the intensity of the action. Mr. Akart has done a stupendous amount of research for these books. I have no idea how he found the time to write after or during his research. I expected to be updated on the news about the Yellowstone explosion, but, fortunately, it wasn't real! I can't recommend this series - or any other series by Mr. Apart - enough. What a realistic story!! Very highly recommended!
This is the next episode depicting the after events of the eruption of the Yellowstone volcano ... the most Earth damaging disaster ever to happen. The gas poisons and ash will surround the Earth. Can it destroy our entire world population? This is an awesome fact-based story created by very intelligent author Bobby Akart. Readers cannot put his thought-provoking stories down. Highly recommend.
As this series progresses, so do the hardships and the fighting for survival as the Yellowstone eruption results travel further and further across the globe. Jake and Ashby have found good people and also people that are not so nice. This is the third book in the series and Bobby Akart has not disappointed me yet as the tension and fear mounts in each book. I'm really looking forward to the next book to see how it plays out
I loved how Akart slid a window into specific ideologies into the story, using the same examples of rationales given in real life instances. In this case the H.O.A. community board of executives and their implementation of communism. All the while sounding rational in their reasoning, but as history always shows, merely keeping more for themselves at the top (executive privaleges and all).
Overall, another great chapter in the Yellowstone eruption series.
A BA. SYFY Novel About An Apocalyptic Event/TH I Errupts
BA. has. penned an Apocalyptic Event which is the imploding of the carpets know as YVO or Yellowstone. This is the 3rd of 4 novel about this explosive series that identifies the problems the US may face if an event of this nature occurs. It is the escape of two people from a society gone mad. Has his is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
This is a great series. Jake and Ashby return to Jake's boyhood home only to find the residents have set up a socialist democracy. If you want to get an idea of how a socialist democracy would be run, this author has done a great job of explaining everything. I am reminded of George Orwell's book, Animal Farm. "All of the animals on the farm are equal, but some are more equal than others. "Read this series. You'll learn s lot.
In this third book of the series, the apocalypse is well and truly under way, as the ash cloud from Yellowstone spreads around the world and society continues to collapse further. The global situation is still only mentioned in passing - realistic from the point of view o the main characters, but somewhat frustrating for the reader (at least, for this reader). Also, the right-wing rhetoric is becoming more prevalent as the series progresses.
I really enjoyed this series...the character development was great, especially the love story as it unfolded. It seemed real and unforced. I am looking forward to book 4! A realistic take on a different kind of apocalypse. Mr Akart did a lot of research on volcanos to make this educational as well as exciting.
While the story gets really going in the Yellowstone series 1and2, Akart gives a bang in this sequel on Yellowstone that grabs you and has you panting for more. His co u please gets relief but then he starts them on a completely different journey. You have to shift gears and try to keep up!
Round three in the “Yellowstone” series a knockout!
The third installment of the “Yellowstone” series was a resounding knockout. Jake and Ashby’s method of escape from the gated community in California was just in the nick of time. I look forward to the series’ end when I read “Yellowstone - Survival”. Hopefully, it will be as good a read as the previous three have been.
How would one survive the aftermath of an eruption of Yellowstone? Well, some of the answers are here, but this, the third in the series, does not live up to the previous two. The theme is how depraved people can become. Personally, I would like to think that the sheep of this world have teeth too.
This series is revving up like a roller coaster ride that begins climbing and picks up speed…but never ends! Out of the frying pan and into the fire, it is fraught with angst, emotion, fight or flight scenarios, and realistic views of the “WHAT IF…” Like a thrilling read? You’ll love this series!
The beginning was as good as the first two but then it really slowed down and got pretty boring, not much is happening, then it did ramp up for the last few chapters but not enough for me to give it 5 stars. It’s still worth reading because initially it is brilliant and you need the rest of the story to understand what is going on for the last book.
