Michelle isn’t looking for a boyfriend. Her life is full. She has good friends, her work at the university is challenging, and her large, loving family is always full of excitement. But Michelle isn’t expecting Robert to sit down in her life. Robert will change everything. He will challenge everything she thinks she knows about her life. Laughter, love, tears, and new horizons are waiting for her if she can only help Robert find his place in her life. Do differences matter? Robert isn't like anyone she has ever known before. But there is something about him. Something that tells her to trust him, something that she will help her family see, and then they might love him, too. Professional Storyteller Darrell Mangum brings to life his most popular Christmas story.
This was a fun, quick read. There were times I felt like I lost track of who was speaking, but the emotions of the characters really drew me in to the story. *possible spoiler here* I'll try to stay as vague as possible, so as not to spoil the ending (although you'll likely see it coming as you read), but I was a little bothered by the choice Robert made at the end. It made no sense to me why he threw the paper away. It have gone in his pocket for use later! But other than that, the ending was wrapped up with a satisfying, shiny bow. I always love a happy ending!
Coming from a big family this was a nice read, it made me think though how an orphan might feel about coming into a group like that. We were a farm family and didn't have a lot of extras, we opened our home to anyone that needed food and shelter. I enjoyed this story a lot.
I loved this book. Robert and Michelle have such a strong spark at the beginning that I couldn’t put it down. Her family drove me crazy but they were so funny. It really put me in the Christmas spirit.
This book has Soo much potential. I swear no one read this or edited it before it was released. There are so many words that don't fit in sentences or are not finished. There is a conversation at one point between Nicole and Michelle and the name for Nicole on one page is spelled totally different then switches back to Nicole. The conversations were choppy and abrupted and didn't make sense at times. I wish the transitions were smoother between most of the chapters and scenes. Michelle is also clingy and crazy at the beginning of the book and then suddenly grows up a little after Robert leaves and she was not my favorite character.
I picked this book because I was looking for a cute Christmas story to read and my husband's name is Robert so it seemed appropriate. The story is a cute Christmas story but it needs some good editing done to it. It was quite annoying to find some sort of typo on every page. It saddens me that we have seemed to get away from editing author's work in this digital world.
This was a quick read and fun to get to know the family. I was not happy with the end as I wanted to know more....I guess that's the sign I was involved in the story. It was hard to keep track of who was talking at times and that slowed me down, but that may have been the author's intent with the cast of characters coming from a large family.
An easy, pleasant read. Kind of reminded me of a Harlequin Romance. So, if you’re into light, fun easy reading, this is a book you might enjoy. I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.
