Life isn’t easy if you’re the teenage daughter of an army general. Moving from one continent to another helped me learn 4 different languages in record time, but it also killed my social life. And when this cute guy in my new hometown gives me hell just because he thinks he knows me, the prospect of the coming school year makes me want to call it quits.

For some strange reason, however, I can’t stop daydreaming about this impossible guy. And boy, he can kiss! Even outside my dreams…

The quick-and-dirty:

I’m a cool girl with a passion for writing.

The genres you’ll find me hanging out at are contemporary and paranormal YA, but I’m also snooping into some adult paranormal right now. All of them romances…of course.

The nitty-gritty:

I’m an Austrian lass—totally uncomplicated and up to anything fun.

I grew up in Vienna, not by free will but because my parents decided to move there when I was only 4 years old. I. Hated. The. City. Everything about it. So right after graduation I moved back to Upper Austria, where I settled down with a nice husband and an awesome laptop.

I’ve been a storyteller all my life. Already in kindergarten, I came up with the most exotic fantasies and tales. My teacher would call me a liar. I call it the cornerstone of my writing career.

People always told me you can’t make a living with being an author. So when my first novella PLAY WITH ME came out and shot straight to the stars within the first week, I was totally dumbstruck. Took me a while to realize what was happening, LOL.

And the personal stuff:

At the (awesome) age of seventeen, I met the love of my life. But he was a playboy, and I was so not going to be his next trophy. It took him another four years of fighting for me until I finally decided to give that “couple-thing” with him a shot. I’m now married to this man. ;-)

We have an eleven-year-old son, and together we travel a lot…although I sometimes wish the trips were shorter because I can’t wait to get back to my laptop and my many stories. Unless we’re in Disneyland. No stress to go home then…

If you still want to know more about me, my FAQ page is the right address for you. ;-)

2.5... (maybe 3) 'Meh' Stars

What's it about? Girl falls in love with a guy who instantly hates her and spends the rest of the book pining after him while he let's go of his feelings for his first true love (who is also his neighbour and best friend).

The best bits: I like this series. Truly. Sometimes I am in the mood for the angsty insecurities of YA romance and the slow build-up of feelings. And this series is well written with all the essentials to make readers smile and swoon and hope. And even though this is not my favourite coupling in the series, I can't wait to start the next one!

Especially since it looks like it will be Susan's story. She is the bookworm/ soccer player/ matchmaker/ good friend to all and there's just so many possibilities for her!

It's great to see the friendships in Beach Grove developing. And it was good to read more about Chloe here, although she is so nasty. But having read her story first (in the New Adult spin-off) I think I saw through her faćade pretty quickly.

The worst bits: The two characters here are almost unbearable. I found Sam to be a very annoying heroine who kept pining for a guy who clearly wasn't interested or ready to meet someone new. As he told her over and over and OVER again. Not that he was a real catch either, but he had his moments. Amidst the schitzophrenic decision making skills and the behaviour of a 14 year old.

He really was the "Dawson" parallel here. For those of you who know what I'm talking about (anyone else grow up on Dawson's Creek?), let me just say that Sam was like every other girl that came onto that show, trying to live up to Joey: Disappointing and forced.

Recommended for: Fans of YA romance, love triangles, and those who fell in love with Ryan and Liza in the first two books... because, in a way, this is their story too.

Wow. Is the title and the cover awesome or what? Two months yo wait. I want it yesterday. *happy dance*

***************UPDATE 15/12/2013*****************

So I finally got around to reading this. It's been sitting on my self taunting me for some time now but I thought I'd re-read the first one before I started it. Yeah, that didn't happen because I'm running short on time lately but that didn't matter at all because the book was AWESOME anyway.

I'm such a sucker for silly high-school love stories. I went through the book in mere hours(and in the end it was after 9 am before I fell asleep) and it was well worth it.

Sam was such a sweet girl. She was enthusiastic and funny. A pretty girl, not barbie pretty but down-to-earth beautiful. Someone you can imagine jocking down the street. She was talented and imaginative. It was effortless to fall in love with her. Most of all I liked the fact that PS didm;t try to turn her into the cookie cutter "mature teenage girl". She was young, slightly naive and it showed.

Now Tony. What an Ass...The title is appropriate all the way. I really didn't know how PS would manage to turn this boy to someone I could possibly root for. In the end I still found his former behaviour obnoxious but I still wanted him to get the girl. I blame the baby-blues and the dimples for it.

I also liked the fact that the author tried to give the story some more depth by adding a girl with issues. I liked more the fact that this didn't diminish the light-heartedness to of the book.

I can't wait for the next one!!!

2 Disappointed Stars! Big let down for me...I really wanted to like this.

The first two books in this series are young adult, but can be enjoyed by all adults, even an old one like me. Where those two made me feel those first love butterflies, that toe curling first kiss, and left me with a happy glow, this one made my head spin. It had me feeling like I was on a treadmill...running at full speed, but going absolutely nowhere! You know how you pull the petals off a daisy and say "he loves me, he loves me not"...forget the daisy, I don't even think a sunflower would have enough petals with the back and forth going on here. I really tried to look at it with my youthful eyes, but it just didn't work for me, not to mention that some of the catch-phrases were wrong, and I also noticed a few spelling errors, which if the story was good, I would have overlooked, but it added to my heavy sighing and eye-rolling. On top of all that...I don't like the cover and the title of the book, it's as if the entire series took a nose dive into immaturity! I know, I know...it's a young adult book, I get it, but I know this author can do better, I've read her better.

Okay, I'm done. I have no idea if there will be another book in the series, but I will probably check it out. I'll give her another shot!

I loved the first two books and this one did not fail me! (but maybe a better cover?)

And for that
description

I loved Tony in the first book and I loved him more in this!!!! He was mostly rude to Sam in the book, but you know whatever! It was a cute-kind-of-rude (hihi me likey). And I really find it appealing especially if it's a love-hate relationship. Sam and Tony definitely filled that kind of relationship ;)
description

PLUS THE SKECTHING MOMENTS!!!! description
This really brings out the frustrated artist in me (the only drawing I could perfect is a stickman....oh! and Spongebob! what im proud of it). AND TONY CAN SKETCH ME ANYTIME!!!! I MEAN ANYFRIGGINTIME AND MAYBE PUT A NOTE LIKE:

This is your ‘I’m in love with you’ look.-T

^ His note for Sam was really an I-LOVE-YOU-SKETCH-ME-FOREVER moment <3

I also liked how I still got to read some cute and sweet moments of Liz and Ryan......so.... ughhhh!!! I just love them!
description

But although I love the Matthews-Hunter couple, the Mitchell-Summers rollercoaster love story was just as cute and I absolutely loved it!

Hoping for more in this series!!!!!!!! 5 stars!!!! ;)

Приятная все-таки эта серия книг . Читаешь, как детишки ссорятся из-за пустяков, переживаешь, улыбаешься, смеешь вместе с ними.

What I loved about it: Well, I loved Tony on the first two books, even though they were about Liza and Ryan. This book just made me love all of them even more.
Ryan is still the awesome guy he always is. Helping everyone without any kind of question. Being amazing with Liza *-* Same for Liza, she is just amazing. Their group of friends is just freaking awesome and kind of reminds me of my own group of friends. And thats the greatest part of a book right? When you can see a bunch of stuff that connect deeply with you. Piper always gets that.

I wasn't ready for the 180º turn of the amazing Tony. He was such a kind guy back in Play With Me that it really surprised me the way he treated Sam in the first place.
But you know what? That only showed me a lot more about him. The way he is so devided between Sam and Liza, and the way he treats Sam and what we find in this book that he did for Liza and Ryan.. I don't know. I guess I just became a fan of him.

Sam is one of the most awesome female characters of all the time. She is talented, forgiving (and this is actually an understatement), patient. I would LOOOOVE to have a friend like her. Seriously.
And the helpless way of how she falls for Tony it's soooo cute.

Barbie aka Cloey came back as well, and woow. What a Biátch.
I just hope that in Grover Beach Team #4, staring Cloey Summers, we get to see a different side of her and please let it be a Good one.

Some people say that sometimes Piper's English is not quite American. Well, i couldn't even notice. Okay, okay, I'm not even American, but I only read in English, so I can pretty much get the expressions and some stuff right. I didn't even thought about Piper being European until I saw it on her blog.
And I'm damn proud that she is an European, because that makes me have more in common with her. *-*

And last but not least, I loved the way the boys in this book talk a lot about feelings. There are a lot of times when you can get that idea from their converations and I find that soooooo cute *-*

I was going to put some quotes, but naaaa. You guys are gonna have to read this.

What I didn't like about it: I kept having a feeling that sometimes, some situations in the book were kinda childish. I don't know. I've read two books from Piper and I never got this idea, but in this book, it kept showing.
Anyway, didn't make me love it less.

Stars: HHUGE FREAKING 5.

I will probably always love Ryan Hunter best but this book sure put up a good fight. It had everything that I loved about the first two books and more. Sweet romance, a little innocent steam, butterfly drama, great characters and a satisfying conclusion.

Ryan and Liza made a reappearance. We see enough of them to know all is still right in their world but not so much that they steal the spotlight from Tony and Sam. Several other characters also made reappearances and we were able to get to know them better as well as a couple new characters.

I loved Sam. I even liked her better than Liza. She was nice and polite without being a total pushover. Tony was a complete jerk at first (or a TOTAL jerk, whichever) and it would be easy to wonder what Sam saw in him but the truth is, I got it. She was a nice girl caught off guard by his random hatred of her. It bothered and perplexed her enough that she paid attention and when he was done being a jerk, his confidence, passion, talent and rare glimpses of gentlemanliness were appealing. Of course, as a reader, having periodic chapters from Tony's POV definitely helped me appreciate his finer qualities more. He certainly gave Sam whiplash with his mixed signals though.

Again, some of the English wasn't quite American and the boys were a little more talkative about feelings and gossip and such, than I am used to but these things were easy to overlook since the story and characters were so great.

I definitely recommend it and I will certainly read the next one whenever it comes out.

Just for the sake of setting ppl right to a should-well-be-known facts:

First of all.. Only Eskimos might find the weather in Cairo "frying" - and even those am nots ure about- since the weather by international standards stay pleasant throughtout the year.. A bit on the hot side maybe in August when heat waves strike..
And second.. The only place you may find sands in Cairo is near the pyramids..

I should know since I've been living there only my whole life! =S
Now Egypt is full of sands but NOT in Cairo.. And the weather can be frying but only in the desert -again not Cairo!

"Maybe you didn’t try hard enough to make her listen. Know what, Mitchell? I think at our age we can’t afford to be lazy and just wait for them to throw themselves at us. If I learned one thing from Liza, it’s this: There’ll always be another guy if you’re not fast enough and seize your chance."

"As I closed the door, it no longer felt like I was leaving something behind. It merely felt like closing the first chapter of a very long story."

Yeyyy!!!! I can't belive it. Tony's book is out.

The sad thing is, that I already finsihed it. (*Sigh*)

Sometimes I feel like I'm too old to read about high-school crushes, and teen-drama, but every once in a while it's really worth it. Like right now!!!

Now back to the topic... T Is For... He's A TOTAL Jerk is the third book in Piper Shelly's AMAZING Grover Beach Team series.

This time our main characters are Sam Summers and Tony Mitchell.
We already know Tony from the previous books, but this time, we got to see a totally different side of him.
From the very first moment, Tony acted like a "total jerk" towards Sam. Why? Because, she's related to Cloey, he's ex.
“Argh!” I raked my hands through my hair pulling at the ends. “Why is he acting so strangely?”Simone lifted her brows and shrugged. “Because he’s a guy.”And that was my answer for the day. I had to live with it.

He's behavior confuses Sam, but they simply can't deny the attraction they feel towards each other.
"To say I hadn’t hoped for a longer reply would have been a lie. But what did I expect really? A romantic letter with hundreds of explanations as to why this afternoon had gotten out of control? Well…a girl could dream, right?"

Cloey was a crazy bitch. But I hope will see her other side in the 4th Grover Beach book.

The best part is, that I still got my daily dose of Ryan Hunter.
There’s just something about her,” I confessed. “Something that pulls me in like a fucking magnet. I can’t resist touching her whenever I get a chance, or just sniffing her hair.”“Or just kissing her?”
Exactly. “Why do girls always have to smell so good?” I whined.Hunter slapped my shoulder. “Because they’re made of candy.” Laughing, he walked out the door.

In all, I'm pretty much in love with the story and the characters. It was, sweet, romantic, funny... everything a girl wants in a romantic book. All you'll need is a cup of hot chocolate while reading it.

Big thanks goes to Piper Shelly. Can't wait to read your next book girl!

I liked this one a lot better than the last. I thought the pace was good in a contemporary book, 400 pages or so is a little long and as a tendency to drag but this one never did. I liked Sam, she was a sweet girl and I liked Tony as well. I didn't like him in either of the first two books, I thought he was annoying and meddlesome but he could be pretty sweet when he wasn't being an immature tool. Sam and Tony had this really up and down relationship. I thought the reason Tony was so rude to Sam at the beginning was a little petty and ridiculous. I couldn't understand why he couldn't realize that Sam was not Cloey even though they were related and also why he just couldn't get over the issue with Cloey in the first place considering she turned out to be really crazy. Tony was just a little all over the place with all of this and still being hung up on Liza though she's still with Ryan, it took him forever to put all of this aside and see Sam for who she was. Once he did though, he was really sweet to Sam.

The only really issue I had was in the writing style. I thought the dialogue and overall story was so off at times. There was the oddest combination of British and American slang even though the characters are American kids in California. It was weird because they all used distinctly British words and expressions really often and the American ones that were used seemed at times out of context and there was a gratuitous use of American swear words and the purpose seemed to be to really reinforce that these are in fact American kids and it was just strange. This was pretty much a high school/teenage romcom, there really wasn't much else to it but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

I was glad to get Tony's story and watch him find happiness after Liza. Tony was such a laid back character in the past, but in this book he's more defensive. Obviously having his heart broken has made him a little protective it. Enter Sam, Cloey's cousin whose staying with her. Sam doesn't know at first that Tony and Glory dated, so she doesn't understand why Tony is so mean to her. She soon learns that Cloey is a horrible person and avoids her. But Sam still can't understand why Tony treats her like he does, because she is nothing like her cousin. Sam becomes friends with the group and after more time around everybody she realizes she's attracted to Tony. This book is told from Sam's POV for the most part, but several times throughout the book we get to hear from Tony, so we know he's attracted to Sam too. How long will they fight this attraction? How much trouble can Cloey create for her cousin? Will Sam have to leave Grover Beach and go back with her parents? Does Tony really care for Sam or is he just waiting to get Lisa back?

Read and see what all happens. Tony is still the sexy soccer player and you'll enjoy Sam's character as well. Plus all the gang from the first two books are there throughout.

4.5 Stars!

Absolutely loved it! But I'm not a big fan of the cover nor the tittle, Idky but I kept forgetting what the book was called due to it's long name... :-/

But overall I love the novel! It had everything I expected from Piper and more. Plus it's actually a pretty good second novel than I expected after disliking Tony in book one. Even though I hated him in the first quarter of the novel, it was the kind of hate, which deep down you know you like the guy but his attitude just makes you wanna slap him silly ;-) LOL. But everything he does for Sam definitely made me swoon jerk or not. haha!

I also love Sam's strength and how she never backs down when people are trying to bring her down. And I'm an artist myself, I love to draw and design, so it's nice to read about all the art references and go ahh I know what you mean, yep!

I also love how we got to know the other characters on a deeper level than the first novel, I feel like their my own friends now LOL. And Liza and Ryan in the novel... *le sigh* still the cutest couple ;-)

So if you loved book one as much as me. Than trust me, you won't be disappointed with this! :-D

I wasn't disappointed with this book. It's a very nice book.
I've tried to read this book as a complete separate book from the series, so that I would not compare it with the previous book "Ryan Hunter" ( just because I loved that book so much and would not be fair to compare any book to that one).
So, there are only two things that didn't make me complete love this book and they are:
First- I could not fall in love with Tony. I tried, but I still think he is a jack a**.
Second- I did not like the scene when Tony rescue Chloe in the beach. The way he acted and what he said afterward made me feel very unease.
Otherwise, I have enjoyed this book.
I would love to see a book about Susan, being that I think she is awesome!

Samantha Summers has been moving around because of her father's job as an army general. This time she's sent to live with her Aunt, Uncle and cousin Chloe. Chloe is not as welcome as she'd thought she'd be and neither is the guy who once dated Chloe.

T is For Totally did not expect this to end in a cliffhanger! This was another wonderful addition to the Grover Beach Team series. We even got a few chapters from Tony's point of view which I preferred over another book from his point of view. Tony was a total jerk to Samantha who was sweet and a complete contrast to Chloe. I loved the friendships that were formed with Lisa's circle. I breezed through this one so fast and before I knew it, I had already finished! I'm glad the next book is already out otherwise I would've been so annoyed!

This was really cute.
The only thing I would've changed is some of the wording, it had a few spots that didn't flow.
While reading this, I was right there with Sam. I was confused by Tony and his seemingly ever changing emotions.
I highly recommend this series.

Total Jerk for sure, but he had his reasons in his confused teenage mind, and eventually he became the Tony I knew he would. It was hard to read at first because he was an over the top jerk, but in the end I was sold. As always the Grover Beach Team was a fun read.

I loved Ryan Hunter's book but unfortunately I cannot say the same for T is For He's a Total Jerk. In my opinion, Sam was spineless and whining, while Tony was, well, a total jerk.
Nevertheless, I gave the book an extra 0.5* for the appearances of Ryan Hunter and his Grover Beach Team and I'm looking forward to read more about them in Susan Miller's Dating Trouble.
