Dev Cart: Issue 2

Rate this book
Dev Cart is a digital zine dedicated to NES game development, 6502 assembly, and NES cartridge collecting. In this issue, we chat with Tim Wurdinger about his recent game Tailgate Party. We also talk to one of our favorite NES homebrew fans and preview Alfonzo's Arctic Adventure.

Learn how to place a full background of 8 x 8 pixel tiles on the NES screen. We've got it all – PPU nametable addresses, attribute tables, a new tool by the Mojon Twins, and all the 6502 assembly code you'll need to go along with it! We discuss the success of Morphcat Games' Kickstarter for Micro Mages and touch base with the developer for the NESLCDMOD project which uses third-party light guns to play zapper games on modern screens.

Also, what we would consider an Easter egg involving one of our favorite developers. Will you find it?
