A story that explores what it’s like to lose something you never had, and the frustration that will surely come to future generations who can’t believe what humans squandered.
Appearing in Rising Tides (2014), a New Zealand a climate change anthology (2014).
I think maybe I want to read the anthology from which this came, Rising Tides. In that context it may be less effective, as just one entry on the theme among others... but it would also be in context and more clear. Still very good in a lot of ways and worth 3.5 stars to me, more to others I'm sure.
