I live in Austin, Texas with my husband, daughter, 3 rescue dogs, 1 cat, and one bunny (that doesn't seem to like us). I love reading romance novels as much as I love writing them. I feel like inspiration can come from anywhere; a song lyric, a quote, a weekend with friends. The tiniest things can spark amazing stories.

What a great collection of stories for a great cause.

Bleu by L.P. Maxa - This was my first read by this author and this best friends to lovers story was an enjoyable read. Bleu and Maykin fight their attraction to each other as long as they can, but after they start volunteering at an animal shelter and fostering a puppy together they can no longer deny their feelings. Puppies and romance are a great combination.

Always A Hero by Marilyn Baxter - This sweet romance has a hot hero and sweet dogs and puppies.....what more could you ask for! Noah and Lucy meet under horrible circumstances, but are instantly attracted to each other. These two dog lovers decide to take a chance on love and find their HEA with the help of their furry friends. A truly enjoyable read!

In this anthology, you have 8 stories by 8 outstanding authors. Also, most readers have their favorite type of heroes. In these stories, there is a tattoo artist, two firefighters, two sheriff deputies, a famous furniture maker, a veterinarian, and a country music singer, and I loved them all. Then add in that each story has a dog or puppy that is rescued, along with a story of love and romance, it is a winning combination. I am not going to give a review on each story. Instead, I will tell you that they are all wonderful.

If these are not excellent reasons to buy this book then, also know that all proceeds from the book goes toward Project Freedom Ride that is a Nonprofit that is connecting unwanted, abandoned dogs bound for euthanasia in Texas with rescues and Humane Societies in Washington State and then into loving families.

Each book is about a different couple and everything that they have to go through to get a happy ending. I really enjoyed reading this box set as each book was so well written and keeps you entertained with great characters and definitely worth reading.

I bought this because proceeds will help a good cause and because I didnt want to miss Diane Benefiel's fourth High Sierras book. It was worth it just for that but I have now read a few more of the stories and am finding new authors to enjoy. If you love romance, animals and a little suspense you'll enjoy this book!
