After a quick hookup with her boss Casey at their work's Christmas party, Ellie tries her best to avoid her gorgeous manager. But that is about to change when they both get trapped inside an elevator for hours and have to face their feelings for each other...

This is a hot and entertaining erotica novella part of the 'Dirty Bits' collection by Carina Press. Written in third person from the point of view of Ellie, the reader is stuck in her headspace with her funny, sarcastic and insecure personality. It also provides an air of mystery surrounding Cassie that suits the character's personality and her position as Ellie's boss.

The novella starts in the present as the elevator gets stuck and both mains are trapped inside. There are a few flashbacks from the Christmas party in which Ellie and Cassie had a bit of action in a toilet stall. The transitions between present and past are seamless and gradually give background to the story.

The sex scenes are very well written and have all the ingredients for a great erotica read: steamy and varied. They showcase the characters' personalities and their budding relationship. Worth a read for erotica fans.

Overall, a well written, entertaining and hot erotica novella. 4.5 stars.

This is the first f/f novella in Carina's Dirty Bits line, so you know I had to read it. It's boss-employee, which is one of my NO buttons, but it was navigated well, I thought. Through a flashback, we see the heroines hook up for the first time at an office party. In present day, they get stuck in an elevator together. And because this is a romance, the fire department can't come for a couple of hours because they're putting out a massive fire. (The heroines can come though. Had to make the joke, not sorry.)
Like so many of the Dirty Bits line, the heroines have an established history before the events of the novella. This means that the sexytimes have emotional depth and move the romance forward. This is good because the book reads a little like "how many different ways can women fuck," and isn't heavy on plot. It's very much a bottle episode (elevator episode?).
Read it if you want a quick, erotic story with two women, at least one of whom is bi. Yes, there's an HEA!
Content Warning: boss-employee, fisting

Part of the Dirty Bits series, Going Down is a lesbian erotically sinful short novella. With a inner office romance that is trapped in an elevator, what ever should two women do to spare their time?

For me, there wasn't much to this storyline, yes, there was a little bit of self-pit party of emotions and a whole lotta erotic nature (which we all like, right?) but I wanted more plot personally. I have read other Dirty Bit novellas and I feel like this one just didn't make the cut.

I think the use of third person limited narration just didn’t work for me - as a character, Ellie lacked the personality and charisma necessary to propel the story in a way that was entertaining for me. She was so nervous and unsure that I felt uncomfortable for a lot of the story, which did not make the experience enjoyable for me. The story also felt very one sided. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from reading it, but it just wasn’t a winner for me. 2 out of 5 wine glasses.

Detailed score: 3.75

Love me an erotirom and this one was very nicely done.

3 pwoar scenes!(complete with consent is sexy) AND some sweet mini angsty romance.

Only couple of criticisms are that it’s expensive for the amount of words you get and that I would have preferred the protagonists to be a bit older - I think they were meant to be mid-20s is but they read younger.

Overall though, anreslly enjoyable read that had me wishing I didn’t start to read it on my lunch break at work instead of the comfort of home (will I ever learn?!)

Not sure how I feel about the boss/employee relationship (not what I was expecting going into this one, I didn't read the synopsis), but the smut level in this novella was a 10/10.

This is a short Erotica is about a Boss - Casey and employee - Ellie trapped in an elevator. They had a previous fling at a Christmas party a few months ago. I thought this was a good erotic short story. They have had almost no communication since Christmas so they are really awkward with each other initially. Once they are able to communicate with each other they have some very hot sex.

Again, I thought this was a good short erotica piece. At times the flow could have been better and I feel the novella could have worked better in the present instead of going from present to past.

I will rate this one 3 stars.

This book was ok. I found the plot very dry and not well written, and the sexual scenes weren’t that entertaining as well. I found them poorly written. I feel that the past events could’ve been written out better to maybe help strengthen the plot. I know that this was a short read, but the characters were drawn to each other very fast without emotional connection which made it feel very fake. Overall this book wasn’t the worst, but wasn’t the best.

This was pretty darn cute, well, if you can call a novella involving fisting “cute.” Boss + employee and forced proximity are some of my favorite tropes, so while I’ve find the Dirty Bits line a bit hit and miss, I’m happy to add this one to one of my favorites!

“My boss said to phone the fire department so…” He trailed off as if expecting them to tell him that they weren’t really stuck. He didn’t need to phone the fire department. This was all just a big misunderstanding.
Except it wasn’t and the prospect of being trapped in three square meters of space with the woman she had barely been able to speak to without imagining naked was becoming terrifyingly real.”

Three months after what Ellie views as a one night stand with her boss at the office Christmas party, Ellie’s become an expert at avoiding Casey. Though Ellie’s bisexual, she’d never previously been with a woman, so when Ellie put the brakes on their encounter, Casey misunderstands and leaves. For her part, Ellie believes that Casey leaving means that she’s rejected her.

“I didn’t want you to tell me it meant nothing,” Ellie continued, just to escape that silence. “I mean, I already knew that. You’re…” beautiful, successful, able to get anyone you want “…my boss. And I’m…” me “…your employee. I knew from the start it wasn’t serious. It couldn’t be. And then you walked out and I knew it and I… I just didn’t want to face it.”

Ellie is adorably awkward, though I could see how she could be annoying to some readers. She’s so reluctant to interact with Casey that in order to avoid their usual pre-ONS coffee dates, she gives up coffee completely. Being stuck in an elevator with her is literally her worst nightmare. Casey is a bit more of a cypher, as we don’t get her POV. Ellie calls Casey’s aesthetic “broody stoicism” and I think that fits pretty well. She’s not exactly an ice queen, but it does seem like she’s reluctant to express her feelings, though some of that can be attributed to her believing that she had used the power imbalance in their relationship to force Ellie into a relationship. I liked how, through a lot of awkwardness, they were forced to confront their misunderstandings (and then, of course, have sex).

I liked the little touches of humor – like Ellie freaking out when she realizes she’s wearing her laundry day underwear, or when Casey gets her hand stuck trying to take off Ellie’s bra. I found Ellie’s voice hilarious in general. As for cons, it does have a bit of a sex-by-checklist vibe – besides fingering, there’s also fisting, the titular “going down,” and some grinding. It felt a bit more like trying to force in all these different experiences rather than the characters spontaneously just having sex.

Overall, I quite liked this one, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick and steamy f/f read!

So sweet…

I thought this was the sweetest novella I have read in a long time.

Ellie had a long time crush on her boss that she spent an inordinate amount of time thinking and dreaming her. And then, the Christmas party happened and things went to a place neither had planned on. The awkwardness that followed kept them from talking about it for months. For different reasons but silence nonetheless.

When trapped in the elevator we find out exactly what happened and the miscommunication from both sides. Although, I think the ownership of this mostly falls toward Ellie. She didn’t realize that it was a two way street in the feelings department. If they had spoken their first day back to work this could have possibly been avoided. Ellie needs to realize that she is “actually more” than what she gives herself credit for. That she was seen by Casey and that’s why they ended up in the bathroom together. Casey had been thinking about her probably just as long.

I think their story is quite cute and innocent. They deserve and should have a HEA. I would love to know more about this sweet and gentle love affair between these two women. I am a lot like Ellie. Bisexual and quite shy.

Ellie and her boss, Casey, may have crossed a line in a bathroom stall at the previous work Christmas Party. It’s been months and Ellie has been avoiding Casey and only speaking to her boss about work matters when they used to be friends with each other. It takes getting trapped in an elevator for a couple of hours together for Ellie to relive the mind blowing experience, and try to figure out where they went wrong.

The sex between the two is going to leave you fanning yourself and wondering how Ellie could have ever let Casey disappear out of her life as a potential lover. There’s a specific part that I wasn’t really into and I’m finding this in a lot of lesbian erotica, but the rest of it was great. I’d definitely want to visit Ellie and Casey again to find out how their relationship has progressed.

3/5 - ARC review

This is a short 50 page read recounting the first sexual encounter between Casey and Ellie while stuck in a elevator for two hours. Casey is Ellie’s boss, Ellie identifies as bisexual but has zero experience with women sexually.

Casey makes an advance on Ellie at an office Christmas party. Ellie has second thoughts and stops anything from going further after she gets Casey to climax. The story is about miscommunication and second chances.

I rated it 3/5 because Ellie is low key annoying with her mumbling and Casey is high key aggressive which turned me off. I would recommend this story to fellow readers that want a quick lesbian erotica that has one basic goal.

FYI:

Oral sex. Fisting, tribbing, finger penetration.

Going down is a super short book by Barbara Bell. The heroines had some fun at the bathroom stall at the office's Christmas party, but there was some misunderstanding and since then things have been awkward between them. Now though, they are trapped in an elevator together and they are forced to face each other and their feelings.

The book might be short (13k words), but I was very happy with what we got. It's like a second chance romance, so there is no insta-lust or something similar. This is the story of them been brave enough to get their happy ending. It was a little angsty but in a good way. You should be prepared for a quicky read with some hot scenes.

This is a short novella and entirely well done. Despite the limited number of words, the book has all elements of a full-length novel: angst, resolution, sex scenes plus a little bit of getting to know the MCs.

Ellie and her boss Casey had a one-off stand in a Christmas party. However, after that, Ellie has been keeping her distance and even blown off Casey’s overtures of friendship. One evening, they are trapped in an elevator (one of the most popular tropes and perhaps fantasies also). Their chemistry reasserts itself and this time, Ellie doesn’t let it end with awkwardness.

A one-sitting ‘quickie’ read which is quite good. However, if you’re in the mood for more sex scenes and more fun characters within a novella, definitely go for Sarah Sanders' books.

A Hot and Fast read - two chicks stuck in an elevator getting it on. It was a super short story, but packed into the pages was just hot sex. It's a pure smut kind of book, my kind of book. Definitely kept my attention and I liked the characters despite there not being much to them. It was mainly a book of sex and that was fine to me. Only not 5 stars because I wanted more. Short stories are too... well.... short!! :D
