Life gets pretty boring when you can beat the snot out of any villain with just one punch.

Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!

Surrounded by heroes, Garo finds himself in a tight spot. But despite the great numbers, he defeats the heroes one by one with his unmatched strength before Genos comes rushing in!

Arch super villain Garo's "let's beat-down anyone and everyone" strategy sees him facing not one, not two, not three, but EIGHT heroes at the opening of this volume. Can a depleted Garo continue his scourging of the super heroes? And, unknown to him, more heroes are coming. Meanwhile One-Punch man faces his stiffest task yet, up against his friend King, and this time his One-Punch is useless! The dual nature of this book of ultra violence and ultra apathy has really got me glued to my seat, that's when I'm not giggling or laughing at the dry and/or visual humour :D. A second 8 out of 12 top drawer Four Star volume for this series"!

Good meat coming up here. Garou has just been offered a good place in the monster organization.

Everyone else in the Hero organization is quaking in their boots.

I like the setup. So simple, so pure, and fantastic art. :)

An interesting volume. So far, Garo, the Hero Hunter, is cornered and likely to lose.

As usual, this series has a great formula to keep readers hooked.

YAAAAYYYYYYYY! Man, oh man, I almost forgot how wonderfully exciting this manga could be. The hype is real. So glad I decided to take a break, now I can take it all in with fresh eyes and truly appreciate the astonishing quality of this series. Real talk, I’ll never get over this GORGEOUS artwork. I mean, can you imagine how hardworking and dedicated a mangaka artist must be to draw ONE 150+ (!?!) pages long chapter consisting of AMAZING panels without a slightest decline in quality? Yusuke Murata is a GOD.
Anyway, as I said, this volume is all about fighting. First, it’s Garou’s time to shine, then we see Genos go all in and in the end Saitama shows up and saves the day as quickly and efficiently as only he can.

I. Love. This. Series. So. Much.

This volume was probably the most action-packed for awhile. This issue picks-up from last volumes Garo stand-off and the "Hero Hunter" is managing to stay on his feet, but is getting the business done to him as Genos and others are beating him intensely while he is at the weakest we have seen him. I have to say this is the first time, I have had any real sympathy for this character. It the gets even worse for Garo when his former master shows-up looking for revenge for having his dojo and last pupil destroyed.

I'm torn on the rating of this one because it does have some pretty nice scenes, plenty of action, and plenty of humor but there is a bit of weird unevenness to the pace. Still solid enough though, I'm kind of curious to see if Saitama will ever face a challenge...even if it's just based on speed and nothing else.

I'll admit, I forgot where the last one left off, but the fight scenes in this were well drawn and well planned out.
The only thing I didn't like is that this entire volume is all one big fight and it didn't even end by the time the volume did.

To all people reading this. I love Saitama too much. LOL!!

Garou has a lot of stamina and he is strong. After all the attacks he got he is still able to fight. Well, his name isn't for naught though.

For a person to think that evil is cool, Garou has a loose screw even when he was still a child. It must have suck being the only one rooting for evil. Well, he turned out to be what he really wanted though.

Garou is really wise. He has lots of strategy to his fighting styles. He knows what to do and he has great observation even in his state. How much more if he doesn't have that fever. He is indeed a monster in a human form. He has lots of evil aura..

Wohooo. Genos to the rescue!!

Garou can still keep up with Genos! It's incredible but I want him eliminated, though.

The video game moments of King and Saitama are so cute. It's just cute when Saitama gets mad, annoyed and defeated. LOL! Also 81 victories over 0 in favor of King. LOL. Saitama is pissed~!

A cute convo:
Genos: Master Saitama told me to train in both mind and body as I aimed to become the top hero. I've finally begun to understand what he meant. I will not be defeated by such a meager surprise attack.
Garou: Master Saitama?
Genos: THE MIGHTIEST HERO, WHOM NO MONSTER CAN EVER HOPE TO MATCH.

Oh yes Genos!!!!!!!!!!

Bang is so strong for an old geezer. Wooohooo. So amazing and incredible flexibility!!

The huge ass centipede is out again. What a nightmare for Genos and the others. Their ultimate attack only made it shred it's skin. What a trouble.
My gosh Genos is so rush and he is in a pinch. Saitama save GENOS OMG!!!!!!!

I love King's distraction. LOL. Him saying all that on a megaphone surely give him goosebumps down his balls. LOL. He is such a scaredy cat but I love his expression. He is so useful in that area. LOL. I'm sure Saitama is there to finish that centipede.

WHAT THE HECK !!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! SAITAMA IS THERE!!!!!! YAAASSSS!!!!!!!! HE FINISHED THAT FUCKING CENTIPEDE WTH OMG!!!!!! SOOO COOOL!!!!!!!! WTH I LOVE YOU SAITAMA. lol. OMGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. King almost past out. HAHAHA. Saitama's timing is great and his expression is the same. Genos is amazed. Of course! His master did it! OMG!!! SOO COOL. HECK YASS!! HELL YESS!!!

This is the most action-packed volume yet. And that's an under-statement.

Four huge moments can be highlighted and they are all phenomenal in their own right.

The first one features Garou and shows he's knack for fighting. No, actually, his knack for surviving. Combined with his incredible fighting skills, this ends up being quite the display of intellect and power.

The second one features Genos and his new upgrade. As if this cyborg didn't already have insane firepower when he was first introduced in this series, they manage to show even more explosive action with his character.

The third one features Bang (Silver Fang) and is an incredible battle of techniques. Accompanied by an old friend, their action sequences is powerful and effortless.

The final one features good ol' Saitama and is of course a hilarious way to conclude the whole volume.

With artwork being the center of attention here, the artwork is put at the forefront and I assure you that it is worthy of all the praise that it can get. There's seriously won't be any problem adapting this in the anime (probably in a VERY long time). It's that good. So cinematic that you thought things were actually moving on paper!

I don't know why I'm still reading this. Can someone just tell me when this Garo plot is done with? It was nice to see Genos again in this volume (it's been forever!!!!), and I always like seeing Saitama and King playing video games, but other than that, there was basically nothing that interested me. At least presumably in the next volume Saitama will be back in the action as he goes to find out what's happened to Genos--I liked seeing him actually show concern for him!

I might just be in the extreme minority for not having grown bored with Saitama's one-punching and getting deals at the grocery store. If this manga could be just that, plus him playing video games with King, with a little Watchdog Man, Mumen Rider, and Genos thrown in here and there for good measure, I would be perfectly happy!

Garou parece estar arrinconado por héroes de clase A y B. Sin embargo no pudieron con él y Genos llega para derrotarlo pero es interrumpido por Bang y Bomb los cuales tienen una gran batalla contra Garou...cómo terminará ?

Great volume all around. Almost no Saitama in this one, but really does a great job of focusing on Garo and all the trouble he's creating. Plenty of great fighting and amazing art. I enjoyed that the story in this one was more focused and our cast of characters was able to support it without the titular hero in here much.
Another great entry in a really fun series.

You know those old time Chinese Kung Fu movies we used to watch? The one where the protagonist sequentially faces foes and miraculously manages to surmount everything despite the overwhelming odds? Volume 16 is exactly like that, but this time it is an antagonist's (Garo) time to shine.

Volume 16 straightforward fun. You don't have to think or stop, you just need to go through all those frenetic (yet subdued and lesser in scale, in relation with Saitama-centered fights) action, and dumb fun. I'm not complaining though. It's highly entertaining.

Saitama once again has made himself very scarce here. And whenever he's scarce, that usually is followed by some good fights from the One-Punch Man himself.

Eight against one and reinforcements are on their way...against the one.

With Garo trapped by 8 heroes of varying ranks between B and A and injured he has two options. The first, surrender and do as he is told or be be a boss and show those heroes what it is like cornering a wounded animal. The majority of this volume is action as Garo does his best to fight against over whelming odds that only get worse as the volume reaches a cliff hanger. Will Garo be able to flee or will he find a way to fight to his dying breath? Answer should be coming when volume 17 comes out . :)

Time for Garo to prove his worth?
I will say that the action scenes were intense and well-worth the wait. The only thing that bothers me is that sometimes the strength of a character is unrealistic. I mean, it's all unrealistic (I still stand on this series being a parody of the genre) but every so often seeing a character get up time and time again after being pummeled is a little tedious. Reminds me of Dragon Ball Z.

Good stuff, I know this is a fighting Manga but these fights among those not Saitama characters just go on and on and on filling most of this volume. It is not bad but you know time to move the story along.
The best part of this story besides Garo trying to protect the kid is the whole full page fight panels.
The other best part of the story is watching King defeat Saitama in battle over and over again in a video game. If only One Punch Man could learn this lesson about how just button mashing is in the end a bad strategy because eventually one punch will not do the job.

Fun.

Mostly focused on Garo, corned by various A and B rank heroes. Not a fan of Garo, so didn’t really care much for this one. Genos’ quick finish interrupted by Bang. Best bit was Saitama losing again against King at gaming.

I was able to understand that Garo really wants to be a monster and he is having a fight for it. But I wonder why why he helps or cares about Tareo? To kill other than hero is not what he wants?

Garo's time to shine

How am I sympathising with a villain?
Garo, being injured, iscornered by 8 heroes, who are determined to catch this villain and prove they have what it takes and outshine the class S heroes.
But unfortunately, they go in underestimating Garo and this leads to an action packed book.
