Cool under pressure, he went on to shatter the record books and become the most popular athlete in America.
Yet nothing was ever handed to LeBron. As a kid, he had to move homes constantly, even separating from his mother for a time. But through all the adversity, he took his natural talent and combined it with hard work to set himself on a path to greatness. Filled with sports action and bold illustrations, this exciting biography tells the story of a living NBA legend.

* "An unusually informative and enjoyable sports biography for young readers." ― Booklist , starred review for Epic Stephen Curry
Anyone who loves basketball has heard of LeBron James. Many of us even think we know about him, but in this Epic Athletes book, we learn more details about one of our favorite players. Dan Wetzel does a great job of allowing the reader an inside look in the life of LeBron James.
This would not be the best read aloud book because of its length and basketball genre. However, this could be a great book for upper elementary students to read individually. The book goes through LeBron James' life, from his childhood to his current tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Wow, I've never care about basketball, but this book kind of changed my mind on that. Who knew Lebron James was such an amazing guy? (yes, I've been living under a rock, far away from popular culture) Nice book -- solid biography of an interesting and inspiring person; great pacing; good mini-comic action throughout; excellent storytelling. I wish all the super wealthy folks out there would take a leaf out of his book. This is a person of great integrity, who cares about giving back to his community. Well done, Lebron James. I'm glad to know more about you.
This was actually a cool read for me because I was in high school (class of ‘04) in Oakland, CA when Lebron entered the NBA draft right out of high school. I honestly could have cared less about basketball back then but reading about his upbringing in Akron, OH actually helped me understand and respect the King a bit more. With that said, WAAAAARRRIORS! :-)
