Oxford Playscripts: Dracula

Rate this book
An engaging classroom playscript.

He is Nosferatu, the Undead.
He can walk through locked doors, change his shape.
Sometimes he looks like a man, sometimes a huge wolf-like dog, or a bat.
He never grows ill, never dies
And if you invite him into your home, he will take your life and your soul.

New, innovative activities specifically tailored to support the KS3 Framework for Teaching English and help students to fulfil the Framework objectives. Activities include work on Speaking and Listening, close text analysis, and the structure of playscripts, and act as a springboard for personal writing

I loved this book. I think Lucy and Mina deserved better though.
Renfield also deserved way better because Dracula was very controlling over him and he couldnt live his life the way he wanted to without Dracula following him. In addition, if Dracula didnt want to move to England, none of this would have happened

I just finished reading Dracula last year so I was intrigued when one of the pupils I'm tutoring said she's working on the play version in class.

The play makes some deviations from the original novel but has the same major developments.

The play is done very well. Different characters speak directly to the audience, reflecting the different ways the characters record their experiences in the original. The play is a fun read and there are also notes with lesson ideas.

[3✨] What can I say? i had to read this book for my ELA class and the reason why it has 3 stars is mainly because I had a good time reading with my classmates out loud and getting immersed to the story… if it wasn’t for that it would’ve been less entertaining.

I think Dracula is such a great story and I love it even more in play format.
