The heroine:Teddy (a.k.a. Cover Girl) - an ex-model, she now owns her own event planning company. Teddy grew up as a foster kid and her modeling career was ruined when she was hit by a car, which crushed one of her legs. She now has a limp and a 21 inch scar on her leg.
The Hero:Tate (a.k.a. Golden Boy) - he joined the Reckless Bastards MC after he got out of the Army and ended up being framed by the cops for a crime he didn’t commit. He spent six years in prison before being exonerated. He was recently released and is now trying to get his life back.
The Story: Golden boy is Max’s brother from Beautifully Broken and Max’s woman Jana is best friends with Teddy. Tate and Teddy met through Max and Jana and were immediately attracted to each other and it wasn’t long before they hooked up with each other. Both were consenting adults and neither of them were looking for more than pleasure.
Though a stalker is leaving macabre ‘gifts’ and outright threats at Teddy’s house, so Tate takes it upon himself to protect Teddy. He insists she stay with him until the police catch whomever is stalking her. Though they are living in the same house and sleeping together, neither thinks of it as more than that, but both are enjoying their time together immensely.
The story in this one was good, though it was a bit too easy to figure out the culprit. I did like both characters and Tate’s struggles after getting out of prison were interesting as was Teddy’s life. I liked that she was tough and strong.
This was told in dual points of view via dual narration by Lynn Barrington and Noel Harrison. These weren’t two of my favorites. Their voices didn’t quite fit the characters. I thought Noel’s voice was a bit too old sounding and gravelly. Not really the sexy kind of gravelly, more like the two pack a day kind.
Author KB Winters has done it again with another great read with Sinfully Scarred. I love her writing style, its easy to read and follow. My favorite part of this installment of the Reckless Bastards MC was the characters! I loved the main characters Tate (Golden Boy) and Teddy (Cover Girl), with there playful and sexually charged banter. It really helped draw me in from the start. I loved that Teddy wasn't this meek damsel in distress, while she was in distress due to having a scary stalker, she was also a strong independent women. But even strong women need help sometimes and Tate was there when she needed it. Oh Boy was he there when she needed it. He was dripping with brooding alpha male essence and damn sexy. He as loyal and honest, which made him that much more attractive. I loved the chemistry between the two and watching the relationship develop friendship to a solid couple. The humor throughout the story helped to make it. They were both at different places in their lives and were thrown into a situation that neither asked for, little did they know but it would change their lives forever.
We also saw more of Jana and Max in this story which was great. I liked seeing their story continue and it was nice that the two stories was very different. This story was a bit light on the MC action, which was a bit unfortunate because I think it needed a little more MC involvement. But overall the story did have a great plot and I really enjoyed the it. Cant wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this to other readers.
I really liked this one. I couldn't wait to read after the first book. I just loved Tate and Teddy they were amazing. I the stalker was wow and the end to all of it kind of made me laugh. Can't wait to see what the next book in the series will be like.
I'm a sucker for a good MC book and this Reckless Bastard series is one that I am absolutely loving. Tate and Teddy are a picture match. The banter between these two as well as the suspense, danger and lust within this book keeps you intrigued from page one. Tate went to jail for 6 years for a crime he didn't commit and is still struggling to get over this. He is just opening his tattoo shop, hanging with his club and looking forward to his brother getting married to the love of his life. Teddy is a wedding planner and one heck of a ball buster. She doesn't really take much from anyone and that includes Tate. When she needs help, he is their to help her. When one thing leads to another can they stay friends? His brother is marrying her best friend, will something happening between them put a wedge between their relationships? I can tell you that this is a very good, well written book, loved the characters and the story itself was very enjoyable.
A seriously steamy read with two characters trying to heal from their pasts. He is finally released from prison after being falsely accused of a crime. He opens a tattoo shop, and is seriously crushing on the former super model that is his sister in law's best friend. They both feel the chemistry and try to fight it. As she is continuously pursued by a stalker, he protects her, and sparks fly. The main culprit is pretty easy to spot within the series, but I honestly still enjoyed getting to know these characters. I would recommend trying the series.
This did not work for me. I was unable to connect. The writing style did not work for me. You may love it. Reading is subjective.
Every woman called the hero "Golden Boy" even women he did not like so why was he not annoyed that Teddy, the heroine, was calling him that?? A lot of unnecessary verbiage and descriptions. The heroine annoyed me.
KB never fails to deliver a great book. Loved it from the first page. Tate and Teddy are great for each other, their connection is shaky but deep, they just both needed to open their arms to each other. Which I am SO glad they did. Looking forward to more.
Tate is as equally hot as his big brother. This sequel is as enjoyable to read. Lots of funny moments, love the crushing part on and trying not to get involve with Teddy because shes practically family. Their personalities gel from friends to lovers. Intimate moments makes you blush. The ending got exciting because of the villain Sheena who has been stalking Teddy. Overall, good 👍story!
This is one of those reads where I would have loved to have been Teddy, just like her or her friend at least. This story revolves around Tate, Max’s brother, and Teddy, Jana’s best friend who we met in Beautifully Broken. Tate is trying to get his life back in order after serving 6 years for a crime he didn’t commit and Teddy is getting on with her life after suffering an accident that ended her modeling career. When Teddy picks up a stalker, Tate is there for her, protecting and keeping her safe. Their close proximity has them releasing their built up tension, ending up being friends with benefits. But as their relationship becomes more for both of them, can they handle the commitment and admit they are more than just friends. Wow wow wow wow I loved loved loved this read...the banter, the steamy scenes, the suspense, the characters...just wow. I loved Teddy and her no nonsense attitude, she was to the point, blunt, sassy, with a wicked tongue for comebacks. Tate was something else as well, not good with feelings or emotions but the two clicked and their banter left me in stitches along with the comebacks Teddy had for others. I loved the fact that Tate didn’t go all man whore after being released from prison and how Teddy was able to keep her flings away from her private home when she did have them...until Tate. A read HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and the best from this author in my opinion...worth more than 5 stars. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Author KB Winters has done it again with another great read with Sinfully Scarred. I love her writing style. It's easy to read and follow. My favorite part of this installment of the Reckless Bastards MC was the characters! I loved the MMC Tate (Golden Boy) and FMC Teddy (Cover Girl), with their playful and sexually charged banter. It really helped draw me in from the start. I loved that Teddy wasn't this meek damsel in distress, while she was in distress due to having a scary stalker, she was also a strong, independent woman. I tried to like this book📑, because I like most of this author's 📚books, but this one was kinda a miss for me. However, fans of Adult MC romances will probably like it.
Tate🐺🍆🌋, AKA Golden Boy, is a tall jacked up💪 blonde biker who was wrongfully sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit. Six years later, he's out with an award for wrongful imprisonment, but 💰money will never make up for all the time🕒 he's lost out of his life. He uses the 💰money to set up a very upscale tattoo⭐ parlor called Get Ink'd. He is still in the Reckless Bastards MC club, but he has no time for the BS🐄 that goes on there anymore. Terry💋💃 is a woman who is a former high fashion runway model💃, until her leg was busted up in an accident. She limps now and has a long scar, so now she is involved with a wedding👰 planner reality show 📺 where she stays off camera 🎥. Tate🐺🍆🌋 is trying to plan his brother Max's wedding to Janna👰, Terry's best friend. This gives him a reason to be around Terry💃💋, since she will help him plan The wedding👰. The author is trying to get these two together in the book📑, but there are a lot of interfering factors. There are a lot of characters coming and going, including other MC members, biker groupies, and obnoxious people from the reality 📺 show. Terry also has a stalker. For me, the book📑 didn't get interesting until chapter Six.
ARC Received for a Voluntary and Honest Review. I also got the book📑 through KU.
Good story and I do recommend if you you've read the first book. It's lacking in romance and intensity between the main characters.
I like Teddy and Tate as characters. Good personalities, their banter if fun and feels natural. Friends connected through Jana (her bestie) and Max (his brother). Teddy is an independent woman (she and Jana connected through foster care) and Tate has come through being exonerated of a crime he didn't commit after spending time in prison, he's started a tattoo business. He's also shying away from his MC brothers since returning and in the first chapter talks about his anger but I didn't see any of it displayed anywhere in the story.
The premise is Teddy has a stalker and doesn't want to worry Jana and the cops won't do anything so Tate becomes her protector. The problem is the Stalker theme is clichéd and though I think it's a plot device that can work it I wish it hadn't been used and the focus would have been on the relationship.
Teddy and Tate are hot together but like I said the intense emotion was missing. It made no sense that Tate would just take off without ensuring her safety after attaching himself to her and I think Teddy was too smart to pull that old "someone's out to get me but I'm an independent woman and I can take care of myself with no ones help blah blah blah".
However, it is an entertaining story with characters you can like, it's just not going to have you sighing at the end.
This is my favorite story by Kb Winters so far. Absolutely loved both Teddy and Tate. Both have emotional scars from the past. Tate is angry from being falsely imprisoned for 6 yrs & Teddy has abandonment & trust issues. At first they start off as just friends. Sure they’re attracted to one another & enjoy each other’s company but it never really went further than that. That changed once Tate found out about Teddy’s stalker. He appointed himself as her protector & let her stay in his home. They begin a sexual relationship, but it turns into much more. Teddy... I loved that girl! She is my favorite type of heroine. Sassy, independent, no blushing virgin, knows what she wants, doesn’t take crap from anyone, protective, & loyal. Let’s not forget that she likes to listen to rap as well as rap along with the song to relax. And yes, rapping complete with hand gestures. Lol. Tate was a good guy as well. He just had to learn how to deal with his anger & bitterness from all the years he lost while in prison. I can’t wait for the next story in this series. Maybe Savior & Mandy? Oh!! Maybe Jag. I’d love to read more about Jag. Either way, I’m excited for the next installment. Highly recommend this read! You won’t be sorry.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Reckless Bastards MC series. In this book, Tate, Golden Boy, has returned from prison after being wrongfully convicted for a crime he didn't commit. Tate is now getting ready to open a tattoo shop and move on with his life. Tate is still a member of the MC, but he is keeping his distance from them because he is trying to adjust to being free. When Tate's brother Max and his fiancé Jana invite him to dinner and he sees Teddy, he is attracted to her, but thinks she is off limits. Teddy is Jana's best friend and a former model. After Teddy was in an accident that ended her modeling career, she started an event planning business. When Teddy begins to receive threats and strange gifts, Tate volunteers to help protect her. Teddy is really attracted to Tate, and she thinks they can have fun without strings until her stalker is found. They begin fooling around, but when they start to get close, more problems arise and more danger comes. I really loved this book, I thought Tate was a great guy who had a horrible experience that left him so hurt and damaged. Teddy was so good for him and he was so good for her. I loved them together. I can't wait for more of this series. Great one.
KB Winters knows how to make an alpha badass biker book funny, loving, and totally hot! Tate was in prison for a crime he didn't commit, he was freed after 6 years and compensation for him time wrongful served. When he gets out he has a hard time trying to adjust back and the constant whispers about him. His brother Max and Max's fiancee, Jana, are the only thing that seems to help. Oh...and the banter he has with Teddy, Jane's best friend. Teddy is a former model but her career ended when an accident left her permanently scarred. Now she owns an event planning business but stays mostly to herself or spends time with her best friend. When she starts getting strange packages left at her door, she begins to freak out. She and Tate start spending more time together when he help yo protect her and even though they know they shouldn't they attracted to each other becomes to much. But how will it and with her best friend and his brother are set to be married and with a stalker that doesn't seem to want to let her go? Great read. Love KB Winters' books. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Tate and Teddy’s romance started out as friends then moved to friends with benefits. We first met both of these people in Beautifully Broken: Reckless Bastards MC. Tate is Max’s brother and Teddy is Jana’s best friend. Tate has been recently released from prison where he had spent the last 6 years for a crime he didn’t commit. He is very angry at everyone and doesn’t really know why. Teddy is a former model who was in a bad accident which cost her that career and she doesn’t rely on anyone but herself. They are both attracted to each other but they have been denying that attraction because of Max and Jana, and not wanting to make things awkward when they come to an end. When they are thrown together because of a stalker they are unable to keep away from each other. Neither wants a relationship so they don’t see things going beyond mutual fun. Will they be able to overcome their issues to find their HEA? I recommend you read to find out.
This was a pretty good story - I liked Tate & Teddy for the most part, liked reading about Max & Jana & the guys in the motorcycle club.
There were some things that annoyed me, however. The plot about her being scarred & him owning a tattoo shop (which is what drew me in by the synopsis) seemed little more than a blip. And once they "broke the sex seal" that part of the storyline got very repetitive & drawn out. It felt rushed & obligatory rather than feeling that they really wanted to boink like bunnies all the time. I also felt there was an unnecessary breakup portion that just didn't make sense to me, even after Tate's explanation.
Overall, the portions that annoyed me didn't outweigh my enjoyment of the story we got. I liked all the characters & LOVED the friendship & banter between our main characters (which is why it annoyed me when they got over their no-sex hurdle, because I wanted that transition to be smoother, I think). So, it was a good story & I may give others in the series a chance. : )
KB has written another emotionally charged book in the Reckless Bastards MC series. Tate Ellison was wrongly convicted and spent six years in prison. Now free and wealthy (although still angry) Tate has opened a tattoo shop with some of the settlement money received for his wrongful imprisonment. Beautiful Teddy a former model now a party planner wants a tattoo to disguise the horrible scar on her leg received from an accident. Neither Tate or Teddy are looking for a relationship but the attraction between the two is undeniable. Teddy is in danger due to a stalker and Tate along with the entire MC protect her. “Sinfully Scarred” is a wonderfully well-written book with intense action, tragedy, intrigue, suspense, mystery passion and love. Great story! Great characters! A MUST READ. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Tate Collison, aka Golden Boy, spent 6 yrs in prison for a crime that he did not commit. He has since been exonerated and received restitution from the state. He has purchased a tattoo parlor and life is good. Teddy is the bff of Tate's soon-to-be sister in law, Jana. She's also a former model and nicknamed Cover Girl by Tate. Teddy needs a tattoo to cover the scar on her leg that ended her career, and Tate is her go-to guy. In the process, the pair become friends...and then more. When a stalker starts threatening Teddy, Tate assigns himself as her protector. This duo each has hidden scars that prevent them from expecting more...can they get past it and find their forever? Will the stalker be caught before it's too late? Cameos of Jana and Max are woven throughout. Overall a good book.
The story was decent, but there were flaws. Mostly with the timeline- it was impossible to tell over what period of time this took place because one chapter would end with "oh we'll do it eventually, I'll get back to you" and the next one started with that event taking place... Time jumped forward a lot, and it was hard to keep track of. The second big issue, the hero was falsely accused of a crime by a "friend" was hauled to jail and expected to stay there, but never confronted the person, or mentioned it to his gang? After already having been incarcerated while innocent? That doesn't just slip your mind.
And the reason this is 2 instead of 3 starts- 30% of this was that book I purchased. I don't mind teasers for other books, but they should never take up more space than the book I actually wanted.
Quick Info Standalone/Cliffhanger?: Standalone Part of a Series?: Yes ---------------------------------- Meeting the Characters Tate/ Golden Boy Teddy ---------------------------------- What happens? Tate and Teddy are friends by association. Teddy is connected to Tate through his brother by being his brother's girlfriend best friend. When weird things start happening to Teddy, Tate steps in to try and protect her for his brother and for the sake hes enthralled by the ex model. Final thoughts I couldn't put this down. I think this book was really less about the MC. Its sort of more associated by them knowing each other from the MC but really nothing happens related to it as such. Would I read again?: Yes Would I read this author again?: Yes Would I continue on with the series?: Yes
TO HOT TO WALK AWAY FROM!!! A well written, easy to follow read with twists and turns that keep you captivated from the first chapter to the very last word. You're frozen to your seat and attention focused on the scenes infolding before your eyes. The two main characters are combustible with such a strong bond between them their like the only ones in the room. But now someones screwed with the wrong person akin to declaring war. Its hot, steamy, off the charts white hot heat thats so real you can feel it. Now someones life is on the line and its gonna get bad before it gets better. KBs talents and abilities every scene is so realistic and mind and blowing you can feel every touch or hear every wisper. KB totally rocks this read.
I love me a good MC novel and this one did not disappoint. Tate is the sexy alpha who lost 6 years of his life for a crime he didn't commit. Now he is just trying to get back to normal, whatever that is. Teddy is a kicka** former model who take nothing from others and calls it like she sees it. She is her own woman and she can handle what life gives her. Teddy and Tate are thrown together because of the relationship between his brother and her BFF. (Book one in series). When Teddy gets a stalker Tate protects her and they can no longer fight their attraction. Good storyline (you may figure out the stakes early on but it won't ruin the story.) Two awesome characters and enough heat to keep you fanning yourself. I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.
Trash talking biker Tate, AKA Golden Boy has opened a tattoo shop since he was released from prison for a crime he didn't commit. He's reacquainted with Teddy when she comes to his shop for some ink. We remember both of them from Beautifully Broken. They both have baggage from their youth. they fight their attraction to each other until Teddy has a stalker and Tate protects her. They are unable to fight their attraction once they are confined together. A hot read that will steam up your kindle. Great characters and an entertaining story line. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
This is the second book in the series but can easily be read as a standalone but I think it is best if they are read in order. This is Tate and Teddy's story, I just loved these two both have plenty of scars from their pasts she does not trust easily and he is still struggling with being wrongly convicted. I liked that these two started out as friends first even though they were really attracted to each other but when he finds out she is in danger and she moves in with him thing quickly change. This book sucked me in right from the start with a great storyline and great characters I would recommend it
Well written story with a nice storyline and plot. The characters are likeable and well described. They have great chemistry between them. I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters.
This romantic book captivates you with their chemistry and the romance that just grows between the main characters. A story about letting your past be just that and choose your future. Taking the chance with a person that stands by you.
A story with lust, love, drama, danger, chemistry, tragedy, passion, mystery and twists that are unsuspected.
I chose this rating because this is a really great book. I really enjoyed all the characters. Especially Teddy, she was a character all by herself. She was really funny. This book was really interesting. It dealt with neglect and learning to be able to trust someone again. This was a really heartfelt book also. With Teddy and Tate they turned out to be a very interesting couple. The way they got together though was strange, well I wouldn't say strange it was to save her life. To be more blunt. But you know it all turned out good in the end. Everything was as it should have been. I recommend this book to all romance readers. Great read!
