Christie is excited about plans to attend the movie premier of Turn and Deliver, Cole Kennick’s new action adventure movie. It’s the anniversary of D-Day, and she and her best friend Tanya are all dolled up like nineteen forties bombshells for a fun girls night out. When Tanya bails at the last minute, Christie enters the theater alone, looking for a place to sit.
Reed heads to the theater, to see the action adventure film, after he lucks into a last minute ticket via the local radio station. He lucks out again when a blonde haired, green-eyed bombshell, who could’ve walked straight out of an old pin up poster, sits next to him. But his luck turns when a live shooter fires into the crowd.
Christie doesn’t realize she’s seated next to a Navy SEAL who may save her life and the lives of others. Or how life can change with one split screen scream.

It seems to be quick paced but spreads over some time. Christie and Reed meet the night of the movie premier that goes from good to bad when a man fires on the movie goers. Reed takes out the shooter and calls it in to the police. Christie helps Reed deal with the wounded. Reed notices Christie in danger again on her way home and rescuers her for the second time. They begin dating and getting to know each other. As they fall for each other, Christie learns to be aware of her surroundings and how to protect herself. Reed being aware of how hard it can be a SEAL's wife moves slowly with Christie's agreement. They start with a promise ring.
I loved this book. I have never read a book where the hero and heroine meet in a movie theatre. So I was drawn to the book because I work in a movie theatre and sadly what happens in the book happens in real life. The only downside was that book just kind of ended and I wanted more. But I would recommend this book to others
I would have liked more romance in this story. I also felt it wasn’t necessary to have two dramas play out. I think the shooting could have been expanded upon more and the other wasn’t needed.
Split Screen Scream by Debra Parmley Christie is attending the movie by herself as her girl friend's fur babies are ill. They had agreed to dress up and she's done just that. She sits near a beefy type of man and gets involved with the movie. It's action packed and lots of adventure-he's scrutinizing the stunts as he does them also. He notices a shooter nearby and in time he yells at everyone to get down as his arm lands on the woman pushing her towards the floor. The man has a gun and Chrsitie knows she's going to die. Reed kicks the shooters gun out of the way and call's 911. Everybody else in the theater had to turn their phones in upon entrance. There are others who have been shot and he gave the information to the dispatcher. Christie helps put a tounirquet on one man's arm while he helps the other. Reed helps her put gas in her car not realizing she's in a real bad part of town with men lingering around-he follows her home and she's safe now. Like interaction they continue to have but fear remains... I received this review book from the author and this is my honest opinion.
I enjoyed watching Christie grow in her self assure withe the help of Reed, the handsome Seal. Christie went through a couple of frightening situations in the book. I can’t even begin to imagine what I would feel like to go through what she went through. She had a wonderful friend that was always there for her and vise versa. Reed is such a good guy, and I liked how he was gentle but firm with Christie. There is some suspense in the book that I like. I enjoyed the book, and encourage you to read it. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
This story starts at a movie premier where a line gunman opens fire on the audience. Luckily there is a Navy Seal in the audience who manages to stop the gunman and help the injured people. Here he meets and saves a woman sitting next to him. There is an immediate attraction and he becomes her protector. The rest of the story is about their growing romance and adjustment to each other's personality traits.
Christie is supposed to go to the show with her best friend who is unable to go at the last minute. Reed won the ticket to go to the show. They end up sitting beside each other. Reed senses something isn't right and spots the shooter which he takes care of. Reed asks Christie out on a date to the shooting range. They later go to a wedding together. Reed gets called out and Christie has an intruder. Will this relationship work out?
Wow this book has everything and the characters chemistry was off the charts and refreshing for them to go slow . The movie shooting was so real. This book was different from all the other books and really made you feel and think about what would you do and how would you protect yourself.
I really enjoyed this romance. The story started with a scary moment, tragic events can often bring people together. These two characters were uniquely different but their chemistry was sizzling. I would have liked the last chapter not to feel so rushed...perhaps I just wanted more.
This is the first of Ms. Parmley's books that I've read. Enjoyed they story line and the characters..the only thing that could have been better was the story ended so abruptly.
I loved this book. It was very romantic & exciting! Love men in the military & I’m always pleased when I find a “happy ending”. Great way to appreciate romance & spice up your love life as well. Fantastic job, Debra Parmley, author.
