Thomas is the one of the greatest beast as you may meet. And it was enjoyable to see his naive little dove turned into a lion when it comes to love.
This is my first book of Ella Fields. I’ll keep reading more of her works.

Bloodstained Beauty is unlike anything Ella Fields has ever written! It's a dark romance with twists and turns and violence that had me saying WTF more than once! I'm a huge fan of this author's work and dark romance, so when I heard Ella was writing one, I knew I had to get my hands on it as soon as possible!
Jemima, a recent college grad, fell hard and fast for her fiance, Miles, right after landing her dream job as a teacher at an elementary school within driving distance of her home town. After quickly moving into an apartment together, they settle into domestic life with ease. Everything seems to be going well until Jemima discovers an unfamiliar phone hidden in Miles' drawer. What comes next will surprise you, and what follows after that will shock you even more!
Don't worry, I'm not going to spoil anything for you. If you want to know what happens, you're going to have to read it for yourselves. The only thing you need to know right now is what you have in store for you if you read this book and why you should decide to give it a go. Luckily, I'm more than happy to enlighten you on both counts!
Bloodstained Beauty is entertaining, dark, and intriguing with a splash of fairytale romance on the side. At times, it reads like a retelling of Beauty and the Beast which I predict many readers will enjoy as much as I did. There was one character in the story that I felt got a raw deal, but some people would definitely disagree with me on that. Overall, I loved and savored every second of this awesome story!
The best thing about it for me is it's part dark romance and part romantic suspense. If you enjoy books with mysteries that slowly unravel and take you down a path you didn't expect, you're sure to love it! I was as perplexed and anxious as the heroine as she tried to figure out what the hell was going on. My mind was in overdrive, and my heart was guarded, not knowing who I could trust. I had to suspend my disbelief and go with the flow towards the second half of the novel, but that's was okay with me. I had a blast from beginning to end!
Twisted, captivating, and full of suspense, Ella's first venture into the dark is everything I hoped it would be! I'm not surprised in the least though. Ella is one of my unicorn authors. I've loved every book I've ever read from her. If you're a fan of her work, don't hesitate to pick up this one!
I recommend Bloodstained Beauty to fans of romantic suspense, dark romance, and readers looking to dip their toes into either.

Warning: This review comes from a person who normally avoids books that are dark.
My reason for reading this book was the fact that the blurb sounded really interesting and the few reviews I read didn’t give spoilers so I didn’t know what it entailed before diving in. I just thought I was going to read about something and it turned out to be something else - something I hate to read!
If I know it, I refrain from reading a book I know I will hate and rate low. However, now that I have accidentally read this book, I have to rate it low to be honest and I need to write my thoughts and feelings about it. So, if you are a fan of dark reads, maybe you should ignore my review and rating. Just stop here and leave because this review won't help you. However, if you want to dip your feet into the dark waters for the first time and maybe try this book, then be my guest and see how dark it is and if it suits you.

BLOODSTAINED BEAUTY Is a full length dark romance novel by Ella Fields. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’
Let me start off by saying that to make this review as spoiler free as I possibly can but give you a wee taste of what's to come this review won't make a hell of a lot of sense to you.
Things were starting to take shape in twenty three year old Jemima’s life not long from graduating she’s moved out of home and has landed a job teaching first graders at Lilyglade Prep, in Glenning her small rural home town. That same day she meets a dashing handsome man, from one dinner to another they seemed to be moving at a steady pace. I'd dreamed of happily ever afters since I was a little girl.
Things are not all they seem, they start to unravel at an escalating pace, pieces to an unfinished puzzle start to take shape as we piece the puzzles together to get the whole picture. Suspenseful, twists and turns, nail biting gritty goodness that has you sitting on the edge of your seat.
Then there’s a child’s parent that takes an interest of sorts in Jemima, he’s a distinguished suit wearing handsome guy. She fascinated him, he intimidated her.
These two men are interwoven in some ways, one over steps the line, the other is a monster with a black heart until he meets Jemima, the girl who unraveled him. The monster and the little dove.
Being a huge fan of this authors and seeing the teasers and hints she was dropping about this book and out of the box to her other works there was no way I wasn’t going to try and get my hands on this book. This story is full of twists and turns. The plot is intricate. The storyline is engaging. The writing is flawless. The characters are connectable.
This was unexpected, we’re used to our sweet, simple, straight forward romances from Ella, but this here was anything but!!
It started off slow and sweet, I was in the zone and enjoying it, then wham 💥a twist in the plot comes out of nowhere and let me tell you, that twist is a whole new game changer, but that’s not all she had install for us noooooo Ella wasn’t finished playing with us. More twisty turns worse than a roller coaster was install for us!! And sitting back I’m wondering what in the ever loving hell did I just read. It ticked all my boxes!! It's gritty and dark enough but not too dark, the twists and turns have you on high alert, the romance even though you question Jemima and even yourself it's so so good and melts your heart you even start rooting for them. Loved Loved Loved this one!!

4 It Was A Tragedy Caused by Love Stars ⭐
I seem to have crawled out from the rock I found myself under, because this is only my second read by this author and I must question how? I was mesmerized by Bloodstained Beauty. I mean many have dubbed it a dark romance, but I didn't see it as such. Twisted, all-consuming and unexpected, better explains what this story is.
I’d been oblivious. I’d been too trusting. I’d been a fool.
I’d been in love.
Well, love did you no good when your heart, that fucking traitor, was pounding at an ungodly speed as you tried to outrun certain death or worse.
You begin this book and feel a misplaced sense of security. Jemima is fresh out of college, beginning a new teaching role and runs slam bang into the love of her life. Admittedly I was even smitten with Miles a mannish blue-collar brute who equally adored Jemima. Because initially everything is cruisy and lovey.
“Are your eyes open, Jemima? Because things are never as they seem.”
Then enters Thomas, the father of a student, an enigma, borderline stalker who's taken an interest in Jemima. So begins an unravelling of what you thought you knew. But here's the thing, you're never quite certain what's transpiring even though Thomas seems to be dropping smidgen of clues. There are two men lingering but who remains at the end of it? Who is actually the good guy?
Whilst you start believing it's a story of past followed by new love, it kind of is and then boom. Lies and manipulations are exposed. Alliances are changed. The good girl gets ensnared by the monster. And a beautiful child helps pave the way to happiness for the broken. It was all so wonderfully different to what I have read of late.
For once I didn't read the spoilers and I got to enjoy the momentum firsthand. Beautifully written and captivating. Unorthodox romances and ant-heroes are my favorite and it wasn't too darkish to spoil it for me. The author excelled at pushing the boundaries whilst maintaining an oddly romantic tale. So good!

I'm going to keep it real with you all here and admit that I didn't even bother to read the blurb before adding this book for two very simple reasons:
1. It's Ella Fields. She writes it, I read it.
2. That cover. Don't you judge me either! Tell me you didn't want to lick it when you saw it. TELL ME!
But I digress as usual.
This book? Nothing like what I expected. It was like a dark and gritty take on Beauty and The Beast. It sucked me in with the prologue and kept me riveted to the pages until the end. I was on the edge of my seat with every twist and turn. You only thing you know what's happening when the author takes a sudden u-turn and everything you thought you knew is left in ashes.
This story truly breaks the mold to the typical romance formula. It's nothing like I expected and it owned me from beginning to finish. I'm used to the fact that Ella Fields will always bring me out of my comfort zone as a reader, and she definitely didn't disappoint here.
While I'd love to tell you exactly what this book is about, I'd be doing you a disservice. You need to experience this story blind. And that's exactly what you'll do; you'll experience it. That blurb is vague and for good reason. That's precisely how my review will be, too.
Jemima is a heroine that's unique in her own right. She's a little naive and a tender heart. She hasn't really experienced heartbreak, deceit, or betrayal in her young age. But then a chance encounter tilts her entire world on it's axis. You know the pivotal moment that comes with her choices, because you experience it with the prologue. But instead of putting you at ease because you know what's coming, it does the exact opposite. The story lulls you into a false sense of security, as you wait for that other shoe to drop. You think you know how and when it happens, but you really don't.
As for the other main character, or the anti-hero really? I'm not going to tell you much. But what I will say is that he's one of the most magnetic and intense characters and you know next to nothing about him for the majority of the story. I was salivating for just the tiniest hint into the back void that is him. And this man is dark. There's not much gray there, trust me.
Bloodstained Beauty was one deliciously gritty read. If you're looking for a read that's as unique as it is riveting, this is a must read!

This book was fantastic, I was hooked from the first pages and I was intrigued.Bloodstained Beauty is a brilliant story that will keep you on edge most of the time.
I believe it's better to go blind in this one.I devour it, everything about it, it was perfect.It's a raw story, and the characters rocked this story!
I don't want to give anything away, but be prepared for an addictive story packed with suspense and twists.
This book was fantastic, I was hooked from the first pages and I was intrigued.Bloodstained Beauty is a brilliant story that will keep you on edge most of the time.

I’m trying to get my pulse down a bit. One thing that defines Ella Fields is that she doesn’t stick to one genre or the ones that she’s comfortable with. No, she challenges me every time with her stories and their characters. Bloodstained Beauty did just that. From the first three pages alone I was intrigued and curious as hell. What is this story all about and how did the main character Jemima end up in such a predicament? That was my first reaction. The next I did was to just dive in and just hold on for dear life.
For the first half part of the story I was trying to figure out what was going on. Trying to make the puzzle pieces fit together and let me tell you all that Ella Fields didn’t make it easy. I appreciate that. I like not knowing what’s going to happen and the unpredictability. Bloodstained Beauty is that book.
Jemima’s story and journey pulled me through all variety of emotions. Just when I thought I had it all figured out the author threw another curveball at me. Fantastic.
Jemima is a wonderful character who doesn’t hide when shit hits the fan. No, she faces it head on damn the consequences. When she least expects it love will find her and what love it is. It’s not safe, not normal or ordinary. No, it’s unique and the way she discovers love makes it even more special.
The author Ella Fields has created a thrilling and compelling story. The way she mixes suspense and romance is done with an effortless ease. The pace of the story flows, not at one point did I want to put the book down. She takes risks with her storytelling and I applaud her for that. Bloodstained Beauty met my expectations and I welcome more of this Ella Fields cause I like a good challenge.

I don't even know how to review this book without ruining it for others. This is the kind of story you need to go in blind. Dive in and hang on tight.
This was such a change of pace from this author that I was messaging her saying - Who are you?? What are you trying to do to me? What the f#ck is happening? Give me more!!!
The plot twists had me gasping out loud, my heart was pounding, and the deliciously dirty chemistry had me assaulting my hubs. This one had my emotions all sorts of twisted up - and for once Ella was right - it's actually seriously funny too.

I could rave about this story for hours and hours and hours.
However, I’m going to be awfully vague with this review, because you’ll want to step into this story utterly blind as it is mesmerising and mind-blowing in its delivery and you don’t want this flawless execution to be ruined.
It is difficult finding accurate words to describe the seamless brilliance and finesse of this dark narrative anyway. I was transfixed and immersed throughout, knowing yet not knowing where the story would head.

Bloodstained Beauty is my absolute favourite, without doubt, story by Ella Fields. It is dark. Gritty. Full of angst. Brimming with so much intensity and suspense, you’ll be biting your nails, on the edge of your seat in anticipation and clutching your Kindle in desperation.
I am a complete and utter unashamed fiend when it comes to dark romance. Beautifully written dark romance, such as this, is capable of powerfully gripping your heart, wrenching it, tearing it apart as you’re slammed by an array of emotions and thoughts.
Each turn and twist had my jaw dropping in shock before leaving me giggling in delight and excitement. I could feel my heart racing, my nerves soaring as the story unfolded, feeding me answers and leaving new questions behind in its journey to unveiling the mysteries.
You’ll be consumed by these characters. They’ll lure you into a trap, sending you spiralling towards their twisted stories that will leave you captivated and enamoured.
Ella Fields’ writing is something that should be mentioned and applauded. If you’ve read previous stories by this author, you will know her writing is so poetically lyrical and hauntingly beautiful. Her ability to make you feel is testament to that.
With Bloodstained Beauty I’ve learned she can do all this within other genres. I love that she’s been courageous enough to step into something darker and far removed from her other stories, because she didn’t disappoint whatsoever. I hope this means there's a possibility to having more delicious dark romance from Ella!

There are just some authors who you keep in your back pocket because you want them with you at all times. Every blurb that they’ve ever shared, every book that they’ve ever written, you read it. You know why? Because somewhere along the way, they became yours and that feeling of always having their words close to you will always bring you a sense of peace and fulfillment. Ella fields is that author for me and with every chapter I read from this woman, she never ceases to amaze me but damn did she outdid herself for this one!!
This book was nothing like I was expecting if im being completely honest. I thought I knew what was going to happen and I remember thinking to myself as I started reading that these characters were going to do me in and send me into a dark tailspin. I was somewhat right but there was so much more let me tell you!! I underestimated everything about this plot because 50% in, I was like….
And that was just the first part!! I no longer held on to this stupid thing called hope and security because there were none! All bets were off, no one was playing fair anymore, and I became increasingly nervous with the turn of a new page. I loved these characters, I loved their passion and their determination. They showed strength when it was needed, loyalty when it mattered, and they loved with everything they had.
Jemima was one of those heroines that if you couldn’t relate to her yourself, you knew someone who was just like that and you loved her. She was naïve in some aspects, but this woman had heart and she stuck up for herself and I really admired her for that. As for the other characters, I will not be going into detail because you need to go into this one completely blind and leave all of your hopes and theories at the door.
Bloodstained Beauty will definitely leave you wanting more while have you dipping your toes into the dark sexy atmosphere of the unknown. So if you’re looking for something different, this one is for you.

Very dark and twisty!
I liked this story but am not sure I loved it. I usually like this type of story but I think the reason I didn’t like this one so much was because you just didn’t know what was going on through most of the book. Jemima is a teacher who falls in love with Miles, he has his own business which is landscaping but they keep saying he mows lawns for a living. Though he makes enough money to take care of her, buy her ring and a house after they get engaged.
They are happy together and the sex is great. They love each other but she starts to have some small doubts about him when she finds he has a phone she doesn’t know about. Also she keeps talking to the father of one of her students and he asks her a lot of personal questions and calls her a pet name. I don’t want to put any spoilers here but it takes nearly the entire book for all the secrets and surprises to be revealed!

One of aspects I love of Ella Fields’s books is that they are never the same. The same excellent writing, intriguing characters, captivating plot?? Absolutely. Bloodstained Beauty is all of this and more.
The cast of characters Ella Fields has created is absolutely fantastic. From the heroine to the hero and all the secondary characters, she has created this family, this odd and unique and beautifully functioning family. Are they different? Yes, but there is so much love amongst them and you can feel it. That becomes the focus. The love of this eccentric crew of people who aren’t good or bad but a dichotomous group of individuals is phenomenal and makes this a must read l.
This story is full of twists and turns. I wasn’t always sure where she was taking us. I was surprised by plot revelations as the novel progresses, but love how they not only developed the characters but how they also connected aspects of the story, putting seemingly unrelated events together for the larger plot. Even when Ella puts you through the ringer, there is always a satisfying ending and Bloodstained Beauty delivers another perfect resolution for these characters.
Bloodstained Beauty is the first book outside of the Grey Spring University series that I’ve read by Ella Fields. It’s different, a tad darker, but it’s still consuming, captivating readers with a fairytale-esque romance with a darker edge. It’s a definite must read.

I am by no means an expert on DARK reads. I have read very few of them and I know my tastes are very picky and quite subjective when it comes to reading such a heavy or dark subject matter, but holy hell. If every single dark book did to me what this one did, maybe I should start reading them more often. Ella blew me away with this book, this story....this journey.
Completely arrested. Solely enamored. Massively hung over.
That's where I am sitting today, one day after reading this book and being all twisted up because this HERO? Well, dammit....that's a spoiler.
I fell in love with him.....you know, HIM but: spoiler.
The title was completely fitting too, because.....well, yeah: spoiler.
The characters and the story arc were so....oh wait: spoiler.
I mean, if I were to go about and explain how much I loved this story, I would be able to tell you that when I found out what spoiler was doing when he spoiler her, then I would totally freak out!! I mean, how do you let spoiler happen and then move on from that? The spoiler that he spoiler pissed me off and I cannot even begin to tell you how much that hurt my heart. But knowing that spoiler was there and ready to spoiler, then I think my heart was able to calm down and follow spoiler along when spoiler came out and spoiler everything. Oh!! And spoiler was too spoiler for this book. Oh my goodness.....yes. <--- Ridiculous, right? I can't even do it. There was so much to this story and the intricacies were abundant. I cannot wait to share this with everyone!!!
I know we all like to look for the constructive side of a review...or something constructive in general. I wanted more. That's my constructive criticism. I wanted more of them. Their story. Their attitudes. I wanted it all. The end buttoned up quickly, but understandably. But I just finished and I already miss them.....I'm sad that it's over and I'm sure the hangover will go away soon. Maybe.
So you see, I realize I usually give a (better) review of a book and how it made me feel, but in this case, in order to tell you how I feel, I have to name names and explain plot points. Clearly can't let that happen, because....spoiler. I wasn't entirely sure I completely understood {{or believed??}} when Ella Fields said she had never written anything like this. Well, she wasn't lying - I have never read something like this from her. I needed answers. One page after the next revealed more curiosities. Her words are rich, and the meaning behind them is so calculated and the intent is always well meaning, but it's seeing between those lines is what makes her reads that much more intriguing. I could have read spoiler and spoiler's story all day long...I want more of them.

GAH!!! Ella Fields just did the most epic of mic drops with Bloodstained Beauty and you will NEVER be the same. I legit had no idea what I was in for and how obsessed I would become after the first few pages!!! This story was so sexy, mysterious and suspenseful!! I FLOVED this book and its consuming intensity!!!
Without giving away any spoilers just know that you have to go into this story blind. I was mesmerized from the get go by this story and was just waiting for the proverbial hammer to drop. I sat terrified and anxious and so so addicted. Hours went by and all I could feel was my heart hammering in my chest in excitement and my stomach twisted in knots. 4 “Oh My Little Dove” Stars
This book was quite a surprise. It was intriguing, darkish, suspenseful, and full of twists and turns. I went into this read with nothing but the blurb and I’m thankful I did. I understood that there was a love story but interwoven with a mysterious element. As the story progressed, the twists and turns were captivating and alluring. The who, what, where and whys of the story kept escalating and created more suspense and intrigue.
Jemima Clayton is a sweet, naive 23yr old graduate who is a school teacher. Miles is handsome, sexy and was instantly attracted to Jemima. They have a fast and furious courtship that is perfect. Dr. Thomas Verrone is the parent to one of Jemima’s student. He is mysterious, attractive and seems to have a dark soul. But he has a daughter, Lou Lou, that he adores, which creates a complexity to Thomas.
These three get caught in a tangled web and nothing is at it seems. The cast of characters and secondary characters keeps the intrigue of the story flowing. As soon as you think you know what is going on, the author veers to the other side of the road and creates more curiosity.
I will say that this story kept me focused and surprised throughout the entire read. There was a darkish element to the story that I really enjoyed. There were a few aspects of the story that I didn’t fully buy into, but in all, this was a great departure from this author’s norm and very entertaining.

Bloodstained Beauty is not like any of Ella Fields previous works. With that said, there are authors you trust implicitly to take you on a journey that is unconventional, intriguing and completely captivating. Bloodstained Beauty is that story and Ella Fields is that author. She somehow manages to know exactly what you need and consistently delivers on every level. Ella’s words are like a drug, she’s my dealer and I can’t wait to get my next fix.
This story is edgy and dark, yet in the same breath it’s sweet and emotional. You will cringe, you will swoon and fall in love. There are heart pounding moments and touching actions that will melt your soul. The characters are complex and will easily weave their way into your heart. There are plot twists you don’t see coming, your heart will be frantic with the need to know what's going to happen next and when you do, you're gasping for air with shock and excitement. Rest assured you won’t be able to turn the pages fast enough. I read this book in one sitting, my need to have every one of my questions answered about this delicious, twisted romance took precedence over all else. If you are looking for a romance that will take you out of your comfort zone and have you reevaluating what a hero means to you, Bloodstained Beauty is a must!

Okay...I'm not going to lie but this was disappointing. I really wanted to like this book! But it just wasn't what I expected at all..
Before reading Bloodstained Beauty, I had to get my hands on this. It's been so long since I've read a Dark read. Dark reads are my absolute favourite, and when this came out, getting a copy of it was all I could think about.
So, when I started it, it was alright, but in some areas, it felt a little rushed. The idea of the plot wasn't anything new to me. I've read stories similar to this and by the middle of the book, I just wanted to finish it..
I wasn't really a huge fan of Jemimah. Actually, I wasn't a fan of any of the characters except for Lou Lou, she was adorable.

5 refreshing stars.
Is there anything better than finding something new in the sea of sameness? This book had its issues, which ill get to in this review, but theres something to be said for a book that has me reading it in one sitting.
The Plot:
Loved it. All of the characters were interesting and believable. Although, the heroines switch from loving the OM to the hero was very quick and felt a little unnatural. She was proclaiming her love for the OM and then a switch is flipped and then shes all in with the hero. What I liked the most was how the OM slowly and naturally turned into a villain. His actions were believable. I think a book can only be as good as its villain- and it was done right in this story.
The Hero:
Perfect in every sense of the word, if you don't mind that hes a murderer for hire. Celibate for years, desperately in love with the h, and loyal to his "daughter."
The heroine:
I really liked her! She may come off as a bonehead to some people but her actions didnt annoy me and she stood up for herself! She kicks the OM in the balls when she finds out hes already married. Hell yeah! As mentioned before, her switch from loving OM to hero was a bit confusing and drastic but it didnt bother me in the end. Serves the OM right!
Safety:
Safe depending on personal triggers? Its safe for me, but im marking it as not-safe because technically it isnt.
-Sex scenes with OM for the first 15% of the book. OM is an FBI agent infiltrating the h's life and hes already married. OM falls in love with h, proposes to her, and causes drama throughout the story. Theres one sex scene with OM after h meets the H.
-The Hero of the story has been celibate for years and only had two previous girlfriends in Highschool. A minor character thought the hero was asexual before the h came into the picture. (seriously though, how awesome is it for the h to have more experience than the H?!?)
-No OW drama in any form
-Push/Pull from h. She's getting over the betrayal of OM when she first meets H. Then shes kidnapped by H so she has to work her feelings around the situation then too.
-H is a mob boss/mercenary for a living.

Referring to the quote above: THAT's exactly how I felt as soon as I turned the first pages of this book and now, right after finishing it, I still feel the same: Ella Fields has gone dark and I really like it!
"You've tasted my lips, and I yours. You can lie with your words, but what will it cost your heart?"
Bloodstained Beauty is a modern and dark version of Beauty and the Beast. One that will capture you right away, a page-turner par excellence! Thrilling, grabbing, twisted, something you'd never expect from this author. But she made her homework, let me promise this to you. If she continues the path like this, she's becoming the new queen of the dark in no time!
"Oh, sweetheart don't overthink it; it's just your heart and my heart learning to beat to the sound of eternity."
All characters perfectly drafted and executed, the right amount of teasers with perfect timing. The unexpected twists, the angst, the chemistry and some really steamy scenes complete the picture of this dark romance.
"You've colored my entire world, and if you leave it - leave me - you leave me black and white all over again."
Is this book kind of sick? Yes, a little. But that's what we all love about dark romance, isn't it?

Absolutely brilliant! This story takes you on a romantic ride filled with first love thrills. But the ride derails and Jemma comes face to face with a real life nightmare. Jemma begins her journey as a naive young girl straight out of college with her first job but ends up feisty and a badass. I love her. This book is angsty, suspenseful, an absolute page turner, hot-hot-hot chemistry, get ready to fall in love! It's also funny and emotional. Definitely will become one of your favorites!!!

Oh lordie... this book sucked me in from the get go. I couldn't stop, wouldn't stop. I didn't know what I was in for with this one, like no clue besides that it wasn't what I was used to reading from Ella or even in general. So I was dying to get to the heart of it, I was literally waiting for the shoe to drop so I could see what the book was all about but boy was I wrong in thinking I'd learn everything in one go. A lot of shoes dropped along this book and they shook me everytime, so be prepared.
I'm sorry I'm gonna be very vague here but y'all must go into it blind, it's what's best with this one. I'm still reeling over this book and I just want to talk and talk about it but I can't. Just know that it was mindblowing. I hadn't expected any of what happened. I just know I started this book shipping one couple and feeling very sketchy about a certain someone and then ending it completely differently, shipping another couple and hating the first guy while loving the other one. And no, I can guarantee you this isn't a love triangle even though it may sound like it. It's really not.
It was something completely different for me. I don't read too many dark romances and there aren't many authors who can make me love them but Ella is definitely one of them. It had her typical fire and outstanding writing but on a completely other level and trope. I loved this book so so much and THIS MAN! - I didn't like him at first, I was intrigued yes but I knew he was going to be much more than what he seemed, I just didn't know I would love him so much anyway, despite everything that he was. He might have been bad but he was also so very sweet with the ones he loved.
Bloodstained Beauty was definitely a book I wasn't expecting and that surprised me in the best way possible. So much angst, so much suspense, so much fire, so much love. It was glorious.

2.5 WTFery Stars
Agh! This is the second book in a row that goes off the rails midway thru. I’m a lover of twists and turns and shocking moments in books but this?....I have no words for what this was; I’m still scratching my head. The book fell through too many plotholes o.O
It also didn’t help that I ended up rooting for the other guy, which is ridiculous since he fucked up. Epically. He shattered my heart. But the revelation didn’t blow up in my face until halfway thru the book! For book’s sake, what was I supposed to do with my feelings for him after that? I thought HE was the hero! But however badly he fucked up, he did NOT deserve what happened to him at the end. I can’t even...
I only have one word for the guy who ended up being the hero: deranged! Not like, ‘oooh he’s so bad, he’s fascinating and hot.’ No. More like he's clinically deranged! His story was bizarre to say the least. I'm sorry, friends, but I couldn’t love him and I tried. Maybe I was just too emotionally busy getting over a broken heart. The ‘other guy’ sure did a number on me.
One thing that completely boggles my mind:
The Positives:
+Gripping prologue
+Kept me on the edge my seat for most of the book
+Great writing, despite the derailed plot
+The angst factor
+The other guy 🤷🏻♀️ (first half of the book)
+I didn't flick the DNF switch and that's a positive in my book
