She will fight for what is hers.

How do you turn back the tide?

When the ship supposed to be taking them to safety ends up on hostile shores, Katerina and her friends find themselves in greater danger than ever. Caught in the clutches of an old foe, they must band together in a way they never thought possible, but is it already too late?

The darkness creeps ever closer, trying to get in. Some battles must be fought with iron and flame, but how do you defeat an enemy you can't see? How do you fight back against the monsters that rage within? And when the dust clears, how much of you will be left?

Can the friends unite against all that stands against them? Will ancient feuds and fresh adversity drive them apart? More importantly…can they get to the crown in time?

Be careful who you trust. Even the devil was once an angel.

Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.

The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.

At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.

But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.

Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.

Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).

After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.

Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.

She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.

😬😬😬😬 This was my least favorite of the series so far, which was crazy considering the high amount of vampire action in this... Which almost saved it!! I liked the circumstances and the drama but thought Katerina was acting even WORSE maturity wise in this book... which like girl, grow up!!! please!!!! I think the whole Jazper situation regarding Dylan and Kat was just... I think it's something that's important to touch on and parts of it was handled well but for the most part it left me disappointed in Katerina's reactions 😭😭 Being upset about her boyfriend "lying" when... like come onnnnnnn... Yannow? Trying to be non spoilery.
The parts near the end were fun.

Can I say one thing - I would really love to fly on a dragon or be one. Either one would work. The team thinks Kat always had bad ideas and giving something away to a mermaid is one of them. I do say what Kat goes through... especially on the ship, I don't want to go through that. It's a wonder she lived to tell the tale. No longer is she a gal that doesn't have stories to tell a campfire. Now, she has too many to tell.

I think this adventure is good for 16+.

Epic

From being to end the book is simply beyond words. Adventure in every corner and unforeseen terror at the hand of their captive. Really like the bond between the vampire and the prince of man. The story itself shown a more comedic side to which was very welcome. To put it bluntly the book surpassed any expectation. Utterly fantastic

I LOVED THIS SERIES! My ONLY critique is that I wish she hadn't mentioned twinkling eyes so much my. I read this book and series very quickly many of them in one sitting, and found myself dreaming of it's characters, yelling at them or for them, laughing, crying, I just got complete caught up on each book.

OMG Another rollicking good read....

Finished and just leaves me wanting more, would have been 5 stars but so many typos and grammatical errors it kind of interrupted the reading flow. Still loved the characters though xx

crossing countries and finding old enemies and allies

Dragons are amazing. Old enemies don’t forget their emotions and friends stay the course.
A few humorous moments and new characters
