Julie Johnson's life as a mom and homemaker is richly blessed, but her marriage is struggling. Years of busyness, exhaustion, and hurt have taken their toll on her emotional and spiritual life, building impenetrable walls around her heart. When she feels God calling her to a mission trip on the other side of the world, Julie puts her faith in Him and leaves her family for ten long days. What she learns about herself, her marriage, and her faith will change her life forever.
Julie and Adam haven't been close for a while. As a matter of fact, she has considered divorce. So when Julie is urged to go on a mission trip to the Philippines with a group from her church, she thinks this will give her a chance to experience independence.
But Julie is a praying woman. At first she feels a physical attraction to another member of their group. But after praying and getting to know him better, she realizes that he is not someone she wants to be with.
I highly recommend that you read "Of Walls" to see how Julie's prayers are answered.
Julie Johnson a mother goes on a trip that changes her faith and marriage forever. I really enjoyed reading this women’s Christian novel by Sara Foust of one woman’s journey of finding her herself and her religion through all the struggles that changed her life forever. I voluntarily reviewed after receiving a free copy.
Once again, Sara reminds us that it is never too late to turn your heart completely toward God and let Him be the ruler of your life. When He is in control, the blessings abound.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. My life is totally different than the main character, Julie's life, and yet I was able to relate to her, and to the things she was going through. I attribute that to Sara's amazing ability to convey the emotions that her characters experience. I laughed, I had tears in my eyes, I felt her guilt, shame and embarrassment at times, and at others her love, and joy. Most of all, I enjoyed seeing Julie remember who she used to be, who she still was
