Like a Dragon Christmas Carol

I enjoyed this one tremendously and loved the parallels to Dickens Christmas Carol. Watching dragons learn about the Christmas spirit was fairly funny and the story was overall very sweet.

Karmel is doing her dream job, she was doing an emergency job on Rose Pudge a corgi when she should have been meeting Peridot her dragon shifter crush for dinner. She was about to close up when Olivia ran in saying her grandmother would not let her take the dog to the Christmas party because she had gotten turkey grease on her, she was in tears so Karmel had done a great job and they were out the door and she had shut down everything except the Instagram camera when the grandmother came to the door wanting to get the job she just spent time on for free but Karmel refused and the woman said she wouldn't leave until she saw the manager but when Peridot came he made the old woman leave and they went to do some shopping because he said that the dinner with his boss was cancelled so they went to the mall but he was not happy with her clumsiness so he decided that he had to do something about it. They had a nice dinner but there was a problem at the store which needed her attention, after he took her home where he helped her make cookies for her Charity event that she was sponsoring for the Holiday Charity Cookie Exchange on Christmas eve. There are some serious issues going on with each of them. I enjoyed this book and the characters were great as was this storyline. I was given a copy by author as a gift without obligation. I am providing an honest review.

This novella is another wonderful addition to this super enjoyable dragon shifter romance series. For full disclosure, this short story did originally appear in the anthology, All He Wants for Christmas as: Her Perfect Christmas Dragon. It has now been revised and some new content has been added. This Christmas themed romance brings us Karmel and Peridot's romance. There is so much sweetness in this book. It is impossible not to fall in love with both these characters. Peridot is all alpha hotness, with a side dose of grinch due to his complete lack of knowledge about everything Christmas. Karmel was his exact opposite, as she embraced everything Christmas with everything she was. Peridot is closed off emotionally and uptight, while Karamel is always exposing her emotions and is a chaos magnet. They have pain and issues that weigh heavily on them that must be addressed and worked through. I highly recommend this book and series. With powerful emotions, humor, drama, timely important themes, sweetness and steam all rolled into one delightful package, these books should not be missed! This is my frank review that is freely posted.

Dragon-shifter Peridot is sent to earth to find out what is the spirit of Christmas. He has an appointment with a female named Karmel. When she doesn;t show up on time he goes to her to intervene in a scene an older woman is causing. Then when she asks for a reschedule, he reminds her a prior appointment she has. Then her friend who she;s to meet tells her she;s not even in the country but in Australia. So she convinces him to accompany her on her shopping trip. Only once klutzy moment turns into two and then three. Through all this Peridot is very stoic. Karmel decides she;ll get him into the holiday mood if it kills both of them. Meanwhile poor Peridot is trying to figure out why her smell is so intoxicating. On they continue with the shopping going from one catastrophe to another, from one misunderstanding to another. Peridot is totally confused when he still can;t figure out why he feels like he does and reacts to her as he is. Now what;s a human female and an alien dragon to do?

This was a cute Christmas story (lots of Awww moments). Karmel and Peridot were cute together, even through all of their misunderstandings. I liked how the alien dragons are trying to figure out "Christmas Spirit", it was a good reminder to not focus on the material, but rather the emotional side of the holiday season. Karmel is a great character, she's not perfect but rather keeps trying even as things go wrong. Her quirkiness is a great off-set to Peridot's more serious nature.

I think this book would work okay as a stand-alone, but if you like it you'll definitely want to read the others.

This is a short story that happens between Christmas eve and Christmas day. Peridot and Karmel met severable months before, but Karamel has been tasked with teaching Peridot about the "Spirit of Christmas." It seems everything that can go wrong, does. Yet, they cannot deny their attraction to each other. Will they be able to find their happily ever after?

These two characters are cute. They are both wounded by their past. They both must risk themselves to pursue this relationship, which makes it feel real.

What a wonderful book to read during the Christmas Season! This is a great addiction to the Dragon VIP series. Peridot a dragon-shifter is assigned to find the meaning of Christmas by his boss Sard. His friends send him to Karmel who loves Christmas to learn why humans celebrate Christmas. Karmel is a walking disaster on two legs and has been interested in Peridot since she met him and Peridot is a serious and insecure dragon who was rejected by his previous mate and doesn't want to disappoint his boss. So there's a bumpy road of mayhem and disaster spiced with humor and romance as are couple find the true meaning of Christmas. I totally enjoyed this ARC by Starla.

Dragon VIP: Peridot fits nicely with the series by Starla Night. Peridot is a very serious, emotionally-challenged, dragon shifter tasked with finding out the meaning of Christmas spirit. To complete this job, he is to interview Karmel, a friend of his boss's wife and a Christmas junkie. Karmel is a spastic, clumsy clutzy. So much so that it take away a little from the story. She is determined to make Peridot experience everything, bringing him out of his emotionless shell. Can he discover the spirit of Christmas? Can he survive his encounter with Karmel?

Karmel is such a lovable klutz and accident prone, oh my! But her heart is always in the right place, I just love her to bits! Now if I had to pick someone for her to love, the brooding and standoffish Peridot would not have been my choice. But fate proved me wrong and these two found love together and they did an excellent job in spreading the spirit of Christmas.

This is a very sweet and Christmas themed romance. It has some feel of Scrooge at times with a dragon boss who just doesn’t get what Christmas spirit is. Karmel loves Christmas and is trying her best to help one dragon find what it means to him too. But because of the two different cultures signals get mixed and she does seem to have some bad luck at times. Peridot is an interesting dragon that really takes like to seriously. But she may be able to help him with that.

Good Books

So I was going through the store just reading the previews, going back and forth all over, looking for something to read when this author caught my eye. The first book with Mal really caught me off guard. All of these books so far were funny, crazy, hot, hot, hot! Did I say hot? I am so ready for the books for the last 4 siblings. This is a great read. She has her baggage and hurts from the past. His self esteem has taken a beating. They meet up and she helps with his problems and he helps with hers. Can he learn what Christmas is about? Can things work out for her? Really exciting, suspenseful, emotional and so much more read. I highly recommend it.

There is suspense, drama, danger, dragons finding out about Christmas and what a cookie exchange is and two damaged people finding love. A book I would recommend. I want to read this series again. Sweet

And tender dragon, human love story. Liked how story progressed. Would have given perfect rated except for a few issues.
One spelling, grammar. Needed checking. Other is her ignorance of dragons behavior, knowledge when her close friend is mated to one. Girlfriends talk.
