This book was beautiful. There was quite a play on the emotions, and I have to admit that I teared up when Jessica pays a visit to the graveyard. I can imagine just how hard it is to let go of the past, a past filled with love, and move onto a future, a future filled with the promise of love. How do you decide? I still feel like crying as I'm writing this.
I'm glad that Cruz and Jessica became fast friends and that Ash is probably going to be a great guy for little Cassie. He is really adorable.
I can really relate to Cruz's loneliness, although I'm a good ten years younger than her. But like her, I'm trying to be patient and let the Almighty work his good will. Everything in its time, right? Right.
I must say, I felt sorry for Fusco, and I was terribly glad that Cruz said a little prayer for him. I love the way the author weaves in little lessons or reminders about the Almighty. Now that I've read the last book in this special serie on Agent Cruz, I feel like I need to read the other books in which she is, just to satisfy my curiosity and to find out if she finds true love and happiness.
I love action/adventure/mystery books, but the crimes this kind of book depicts just makes me sick. However, maybe having a read like this once in a while is good, because then people can be grateful for the security they live in and also be aware, at the same time, that these crimes do exist.
A special thank you to the author of this work for sharing it with me in exchange for an honest review.
