It has been quite a quick and interesting read. Definitely a new perspective to consider when working with horses. I spent a long time determining the types into where horses that I know fit. I just wish there would have been more going in depth and not as much repetition as there was. On the other hand, I remember the concepts very well because of the repeating ideas :D It definitely makes you pay more attention to how a horse is in general, and emphasises that not all horses are the same, not all horses benefit from the same (training) methods and approach as an individual.

Sadly I do not speak Dutch, so thankfully there is an English version published. I do however have a lot to say in regards to the translation: there were enormous amounts of typos. Usually a book has either none or max 2. There were a few in every chapter! Also, a lot of the sentences did not make sense or had an incorrect structure. Also... an example from the book:
"Texttextexttext (this is unclear, I will ask Eric to specify)"

I find that things like this are unprofessional, and sadly do not contribute to the seriousness and credibility of the book and its concept. I'm sure that this is not what the author wants to come across like. They did not hinder the clarity of the message for me, but were pretty annoying. It felt like someone translated it in one go and did not have anyone to proof read.

Another thing I noticed was that there were a lot of pictures where the rider (including the author himself) is not wearing a helmet. It is a minor detail, but as a veterinarian and a medical business, it is unacceptable to promote unconcern of one's body and health.

Reread. I think it is a very interesting way to look at horse personality types and has good ideas about training, feeding, health issues and life phases of horses.
