This book along with Dead heat has been sitting on my tbr piles for a couple of years (I am so behind I have tbr's that are over 6yrs old!!). This is the first in a trilogy about kick-ass women ex-FBI agents. First up is Rainey... I really enjoyed the mix of suspense and romance in this one. I liked the fact that very early on I knew that Calder was in love with Rainey. Usually I'm not into the whole previous-relationship-they-broke-up-and-meet-again-only-to -rekindle-extreme-lust(er...love). but this worked really well in this story.
I would give this book 41/2 stars if I could. The author has a really good rhythm to her writing which keeps you going throughout the story. Loved Megan (the kick-ass teenager). The only criticism I have would be that I (IMO) would have liked Megan and Rainey to have shown a little bit more vulnerability in there scary situations. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I cannot get a hold of the next one I Spy so am borrowing it from the library.

DANGEROUS CURVES by Jacey Ford is 327 pages in paperback form. This is #1 in Partners In Crime Series.

Brief Dsecription:

THEY KNOW HOW THE JUSTICE SYSTEM WORKS.. .
FROM BOTH SIDES OF THE LAW.. .

Former FBI agents Aimee, Daphne, and Raine have left the Bureau to start a new kind of corporate security firm--where they can tackle anything from computer hackers to suspected terrorists and corporate spies. Welcome to Partners in Crime.. .

Raine Robey's new life--professional and personal--is about to take an unexpected turn. Calder Preston, her former boss at the Bureau--and former lover--has just called with a job for the Partners. It's an unofficial investigation, based on little more than a hunch about a suspicious car crash. Working together again, Calder and Raine will discover danger lurking on the dark side of the Atlanta streets. And Raine will have to race against time to combat a criminal plot--while fighting off a furious attraction. Because on the street, she's got Calder's back. But she wants more than just his back.. .

I didn't really care for this book because it had a little too much tongue in cheek for me. There really wasn't anything going on until the last 30 pages or so and then when the action started it was really over the top. I suppose for a romantic suspense it was okay and possibly if I was a bit younger I would have enjoyed this one more.

I thought the one story line that was about Megan and being stuck in a container was the best part of the book. I am not sure that I would have been as tough as she was. She seemed to keep it together for a long period of time without a lot of resources.

I am giving this book 3 out of 5 stars, because I did like the Megan piece. I just wasn't too thrilled about the rest of the book, it was just okay.

It's all so very wrong and unbelievable but I liked it as much this time as I did years ago on my first read. I recall calling home from London just to read the river scene to my hubby. Heh.

I felt like this book took way too long. It just didn't seem fully developed. It left me deciding to not read the next book in the series.

Pretty good.
Raine Robey, former FBI, being framed for murder of suspect. Who is doing it?
Teen girl shipped in car container. Raine also sent to Alaska in train.
Both spunky.
