Eight literal masters in the Tang and Song Dynasties are Han Yu, Liu Zongyuan in the Tang Dynasty, Ouyang Xiu, Zeng Gong, Wang Anshi and Su Xun, Su Shi, Su Zhe in the Song Dynasty. Han Yu and Liu Zongyuan advocate ""Classical Literary Movement"" which criticizes the unpractical and ostentatious writing style in the Six Dynasties Period and calls for new and fresh writing styles. The masters in the Song Dynasty not only pass on the tradition of ""Classical Literary Movement"" in the Tang Dynasty, but also expand and make innovation in the field of prose writing.
