Blind Fall
I was gifted as a slave-bride to an alien giant.
That’s the start of my day. At least I have my guide dog, Kota, with me. I’d be lost without her… literally.

And our new alien owner is kind enough that he’s not holding me to the wife or slave deal even though that’s what I was intended for. We’ve basically been dropped into a scene from Little House on the Alien Prairie, complete with his one-room cabin, and he’s been the perfect gentleman. He’s pretty great, and I’m actually starting to wish I could take him home with me.
He doesn’t know it yet, but the threat of him going into ‘rut’ is no longer a deterrent...

Re-Read 1/30/20
This comfort read just gets better and better each time I revisit it. I am completely besotted with gentle giant alien Breslin, good-natured human Sanna, her devoted guide dog Kota, and the mischievous (and carnivorous alien horse) Meesahrah.
One of my favorite comfort re-reads!

This story is everything fluffy, sweet, and endearing that my heart needed right now.
The alien hero MC is caring, compassionate, warm, and utterly sweet. A complete cinnamon roll. The female heroine MC is funny, brave, independent, good-natured, and loving. Together, these two make my heart melt.
Add in a devoted seeing eye dog, an irascible yet endearing (& carnivorous!) alien horse companion, positive representation of visual impairment, mutual pining, sweet/hot sexy times, gentle touches and loving banter, and I am in heaven.
This was a true comfort read. I read it via KU, but I am going to buy my own copy for future comfort rereads. Loved it!!

The Heroes: Breslin - he breeds and trains Narwari, a four hoofed beast of burden, bred for pulling heavy carts on rough terrain. He has his own Narwari, named Meesahrah, who is very large but a bit of a brat. While on an auction planet to sell his Narwari, his friend Eaken decides to purchase a Grafalla female, when another female catches Breslin’s attention and sees that something is not right. They see that some of the females aren’t actually Grafalla, and Eaken is determined to buy one, and he talks Breslin into getting the other that has some sort of beast and seems in a lot of stress.
The heroine: Sanna - she is blind and has a service dog called Kota. She is abducted by aliens, then sold at auction. She worries Kota will not be sold with her but luckily the alien that buys her also buys Kota. She isn’t given a translator, so she can’t tell what the male is saying to her or her dog for the first part of the book.
The Story: Though Breslin doesn’t approve of buying and selling sentient beings, he wants to rescue the female he was watching. His friend Eaken tells Breslin he bought her as a bride for Breslin. Breslin uses his knowledge of how to train Narwari, as he forms a bond with the female and comforts her as they move towards Eaken’s pirate ship.
One thing that was hard about this book was the fact that Sanna was blind, so her opinions on what Breslin looked like were from her touching him, so it was hard to create my image. I had no idea what color he actually was since she couldn’t see him, so I had to take some artistic liberties. The animals in this book were pretty good, each with their own distinct personality. Kota couldn’t stop biting Breslin at the beginning every time he reached for Sanna, and Meesahrah did what she wanted a lot and was quite a rascal.
I don’t know why so many alien romance books have enough technology and advancement to kidnap women from earth and fly them to another galaxy in a high tech spaceship, but then end up on planets with no technology whatsoever. In this one they live on a farm, and granted there will even be farms on advanced civilizations, but this farm had no technology. Heck even on earth farms have the internet, iPhones, iPads and video games. Whereas in most alien romance books, they live on super primitive worlds.
This book is told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Callie Dalton. Teddy is one of my favorite male narrators with a deep sexy voice which I love in just about anything he narrates. Callie Dalton has a youthful, but sort of annoying sounding voice which I can’t explain but wasn’t too fond of. Though she was a good narrator and showed emotion through her voice well.

Kind of a little house on the prairie feel to the book with not much focus on the Sci-Fi part. (Too little)
A little too much focus on the world-building (verbose) and not enough on the couple and character development.
Almost everything was too earth like and not focused on the Sci-Fi part. ☹️
Too sweet and cheesy and not much focus on the chemistry between the main characters.
The chemistry dragged and felt wooden and then rushed.
Abrupt ending.
Overall it was a boring and lackluster read.

This was like the cutest, sweetest, most adorable book EVER!
Like for real, Breslin has to be the nicest alien ever God!

3 stars. This book was all sweetness and fluff. I really did like it, but found myself wishing it had just a tiny bit more substance. The beginning was good and the end was good but the middle just seemed to drag somewhat.
I absolutely loved the hero of this book. He’s not very exciting, but he’s steady, patient, and super supportive. He’s the kind of man that I would want in real life (sorry hubby 😜). Alpha a**holes are fun to read about, but this guy would be a good life partner irl.
The heroine is blind and has her seeing eye dog with her. After reading the first book, I needed to know what happened to her so badly that I skipped ahead right to this one. It’s a unique story, and I liked her perspective a lot.
One thing that I’ll complain about… the female narrator for this audiobook is Callie Dalton. I have spent a lot of time listening to her narrations of various Mariana Zapata novels. She’s an excellent narrator overall. HOWEVER, she used the same voice for the hero of this book that she in the past used to narrate Grandpa Gus in “The Best Thing”. I’m sorry, but I just couldn’t stop imagining Grandpa Gus in the role of the hero. Not sexy. It really took me out of the story.

Cute alien romance with adorable animals. I really liked how accepting the H was of the h's blindness and how supportive he was in with regards to it and her being in an alien world. I've read a couple others in this series and while I enjoy them, I have noticed little discrepancies in continuity here and there across the books. Still, the lighter books in the series are great afternoon reads with humor, sweetness, and a bit of steam. Told in first person, dual POV. No ow/om drama (although the H does get possessive), no sexual histories mentioned, and no bc discussed.

Super sweet. Too sweet. I was bored most of the book. Too many detailed descriptions. Too few struggles for a blind woman on an alien planet.
I really hate to give this low of a rating to a series I like, but it was just too cheesy and had no conflict.

Being kidnapped by aliens and then sold on the slave market isn’t fun for anyone. But it’s especially hellish if you are blind as Sanna has discovered, the only bright spot is that she still has her guide dog Kota. Luckily she is bought from the auction block by Breslin, who may be huge and clearly alien but he is willing to help her get home. However, until she can get a ride back to Earth she and Kota are going to his alien ranch. As Sanna spends more time with Breslin, it becomes harder and harder to imagine her life without him. But to stay with him she would have to give up on ever going back home.
You all know by now how much I love my sci fi romance, it’s a staple of my reading diet. However, with my love of the genre comes the hazard of some truly…unique covers, which is the case with Blind Fall. But don’t let that put you off. This book is adorable. Any book with a pet in it is, in my opinion, automatically cuter than usual. This is especially true with the ever loving and faithful Kota, Sanna’s guide dog.
But it isn’t just the furry companion that makes this book adorable, I loved the romance in this one. Breslin was truly a gentle giant. Although he was immediately wildly attracted to Sanna, he didn’t put any pressure on her and never pushed for more than friendship. This meant the romance between them was more of a slow burn. Luckily Sanna felt the same attraction and made the first move.
As for the blindness on the heroines part, this was an interesting aspect of the book. I liked that the heroine didn’t suddenly get ‘cured’ by some advanced alien technology. And one of the things I loved most about Breslin is how he enabled and encouraged Sanna to do things. Something Sanna embraced wholeheartedly. He made adjustments for her blindness but didn’t treat her like her lack of sight rendered her incapable.
Don’t let the cover put you off, this was a really sweet read and I highly recommend it. It’s also good if you want a standalone, as although it is part of the Stolen by an Alien series’ universe it only connects loosely with the other books.

Soooo incredibly SWEET!!
If you read the other books in the series you remember that the auction pen of human women contained a blind lady and her seeing eye dog. This is their story.
Some of the other books have had dark elements but this one is absent of that. Wonderfully sweet romance.
Animal lovers will especially enjoy this book as the secondary characters are the animals.

If you are looking for a new book boyfriend, look no more, Breslin if the guys you have been looking for; and don’t be fooled by the dog in the cover, this is a through, and through alien romance, he is big, strong, caring, attentive, and yes, very alien.
This book is #5 in the Stolen by an Alien series, I will highly recommend reading the books in order, but that’s because I love Amanda Milo’s books. You would have no problem reading Breslin story as a stand-alone.

This was a cool concept: a human woman kidnapped by aliens to be sold as a slave. The catch is, she is blind. Along with her trusty guide dog Kota, Sanna adapts well to her new circumstance. And Breslin, the alien who is now her "owner" is such a sweetheart.
I liked this one. It was a bit of a slow burn and I was ready for things to happen long before they did. But it was a good continuation of the series and read well as a stand-alone.

The guide dog was mentioned eaaaaaarly in the Stolen series and, yes, I was one who desperately hoped everything turned out okay for her and her human. As it turns out, okay is an understatement. Sanna and Kota ended up exactly where they needed to be with the perfect alien for them.
In fact, Breslin's not only a great alien with great instincts, he's also a perfect gentleman. A total sweetheart who does everything he can to help ease Sanna into the new life she's been dumped into. I'm going to point out that most of these alien males are utter sweethearts. At least to their special someone. Some of them might growl and snarl and breathe fire upon occasion, but they are incredibly careful with their special lady friend and what's not to love about that?
But let's get back to Breslin and Sanna. He's a trainer/handler of large critters and he handles Sanna with care without making her feel like her blindness is ever an issue. And, in fact, it isn't. Breslin accepts Sanna's blindness as part of her and that's that.
As you can probably guess, his kindness sparks feeeeeelings in Sanna and soon she's hoping he's a little less gentlemanly and a little more ... err, willing to act on this thing between them.
I'm still loving this series and these aliens and the woman who inadvertently crossed their paths.

Bres and San and Kota are adorable. A very sweet story and I love that “alpha hero” doesn’t have to mean aggressive and domineering. Don’t get me wrong I like them too, but it’s a wonderful and much more “take home and keep” alternative to read of a strong man that nurtures and believes in a woman’s right to choose her own path. Yum.

As always this series does not disappoint! This was such a sweet read. I love how Milo writes and lets the characters learn about each other. They grow the story grows it’s just a fun time for all.

Audible reread October 2021:
Really enjoyed both narrators for this one.
I'm not sure why I've stayed away from this story for so long, but it improves on the second read and is such a light, no-drama, feel-good story without the usual alien abduction tropes. And it's funny as all get-out. Will be revisiting this one as a cleanser read in the future.

After not being able to get into book 4 in the series which was a disappointment because I loved the rest of the book I was cautious to jump into book 5. I found myself not disappointed at all.
If you’ve read the other books in the series and remember the blind woman in the pen with her seeing eye dog, which to be honest I didn't remember, but I guess others did and were up in arms about what happened to the dog. This is the story.
Sanna and her dog Kota are lucky enough to get “purchased” by a lonely animal wrangler named Breslin. Sanna learned his size and the feel of him through touch and described him well, but I was disappointed that Milo did have one of her fabulous rendition of him on the cover. I know what a German Shepard looks like, I want to know how the author sees Breslin.
This story was a super sweet love story about a woman and “man” finding their way towards love. I enjoyed it. They lived simply and without luxury but all they needed was each other's company. It was refreshing to just have a story of two people falling in love.
I am giving this on 4.5 Boundless stars, and it was excellent.

I cannot express how much I loved this installment of the Stolen-verse. Breslin is an amazing, caring, protective hero. Sanna is a sassy, independent, intelligent heroine. Kota, an adorable dog that is fiercely protective of her person. For anyone wondering- Amanda Milo isn’t heartless, the dog lives! The progression of Breslin and Sanna’s relationship felt relatable and realistic. The imagery of the new species was aw inspiring. I have now bumped these two into my favorite characters in the Stolen-verse category. The sassiness and playful banter that takes place through this book is something I thoroughly enjoy, and makes these characters seem all the more real. Breslin “trainer voice” reminds me of many a cowboy I’ve had the pleasure of hearing speak. The playful threats to his sassy mount, Meesahrah, are something I can directly relate to with serval of my own hooved friends. Sanna’s independence never waivers, she takes all things in stride, and it’s a wonderful break from the ladies in many books who just sit and cry for chapters on end. I really hope we get to see more of this couple, and I firmly believe I now want to die in a wave of puppy kisses- but you’ll have to read the book to find that reference!

I liked this one, thought it was a good addition to the series. I was glad that they managed to get a language translater to Sanna quickly and there was no communication issues. I think what made this one more horrifying to me was that Sanna was blind. Not the blindness itself, but it would be bad enough to be stolen but then to have no sight on top of it, I feel like that would just add to the things to be scared of as you can't see whats coming to you.
I thought Sanna did a great job of aclimating to things, was glad that she was able to talk to Breslin about everything and that he didn't not see her blindness as a bad thing, just part of her. I also loved how Breslin accpeted Kota as part of Sanna. In some ways ending up where she did gave Sanna so much freedom and I loved that for her. I was glad that the two of them ended up together because they were perfect as a couple.

Yes! This book was perfect for me. What could be better than a massive alien hero who's sweet and respectful?
Well, okay, the only thing better is when said sweet alien is being respectful to an equally sweet heroine. Add in the cutest guide dog and a sassy alien-horse and you've got yourself the perfect set up for a memorable romance.
But man, I just adore the relationship between Breslin and Sanna. They are both so, so sweet, and their bickering was awfully cute. It's such a feel-good story that I'm still grinning ear to ear several days after finishing it- I just can't get over these characters. I feel massively invested in their relationship, and I may have to read the rest of the series if only to get some extra glimpses of Breslin, Sanna, and their horde of super-cute animals.

Amanda Milo cannot write fast enough!
Every book in this series has made me stay awake longer than I should, ignore things I need to do, and laugh out loud in public shamelessly. This one is no different.
As wonderful as the lead characters are, it's the animals that steal the show. Milo develops their personalities as well as she develops her lead characters. By then end I was so sad to leave the farm I'd been living on with them.
As for supporting characters? Ekan wins! That is all. Ekan wins!

Wanted to love it
I wanted to love it, as I've enjoyed all of the authors previous work, but this one fell flat. There was no action at all. The couple were pretty boring. There were some humorous exchanges. I did not care for the cover at all. I would have preferred to see what this alien looked like, as I just couldn't pull a picture together. While Not a was an okay character, I much preferred Meeshah. She was the books most interesting character. Overall this one fell flat for me. Her books are usually action filled and fast paced. This was not that at all.

Absolutely FIVE STARS for this delightful part of the Stolen by an Alien series. For Breslin and Sanna, for Kota! It was sweet, it was fresh, it was HOT...it was everything an alien romance should be. This particular series and author is an all-time favorite of mine and Blind Fall did not disappoint. Can't wait for the next installment (perhaps Beth?). One could only hope... :D

Cowboy romance mixes with SciFi romance like chocolate and coffee
I love western/cowboy romances and I love SciFi romances, so this is like chocolate and coffee together! It is so wonderfully done! As always, I love Amanda’s writing style, imaginative, and humor. Carnivorous horses! Love it!

3.5 stars. This book is like hot chocolate with marshmallows. Warms your insides and is overly sweet. Not a lot of plot here but the hero is pretty lovely. Enjoy the interactions and kindness towards the heroine. Very few characters besides the main ones and two animal companions and a very unpleasant male friend we see twice.

Sanna and her trusty dog Kota are minding their own business when aliens decide to spice things up by abducting them. But instead of winding up in an intergalactic zoo or something equally horrifying, Sanna gets sold as a bride to Breslin, an alien with enough wit and charm to make you forget he’s, well, an alien.
Breslin is laid-back, funny, and completely smitten, which makes it impossible not to root for him. His interactions with Sanna are pure gold—equal parts sweet, snarky, and laugh-out-loud funny. The banter? The romance? Adorable without being over-the-top.
As someone who’s not visually impaired, I was impressed by how respectful and believable the portrayal of Sanna’s blindness felt. It wasn’t a plot gimmick; it was part of who she was, and Amanda Milo handled it with care. Plus, Kota deserves all the doggy treats for being a scene-stealer with paws-down the best comic timing.
Why four stars? Honestly, because while I loved it, I felt like the story wrapped up a bit too neatly. I wouldn’t have minded an extra chapter or two of Sanna and Breslin navigating their life together. But hey, that’s just me being greedy for more laughs and love.
If you’re looking for a lighthearted sci-fi romance that’s equal parts hilarious and heartwarming, Blind Fall is definitely worth a read!
